I visited a ramen shop called KOZOU+ for lunch the other day. It's a specialty shop for mixed ramen, which is not very popular in Osaka. I chose the KINGPORK mixed ramen with a side of 1 bite of rice. The shop is a spin-off from the parent shop KOZOU, known for its pork bone ramen. I've been wanting to try their mixed ramen for a while, so I finally went back after a long time. I chose the KINGPORK mixed ramen, which seemed to be the shop's recommendation. The bowl had a huge slice of chashu on top. Before digging in, I noticed a "Delicious Stick" on the side, which is basically a familiar snack called "Umaibo". I wondered how it would enhance the flavor. When the bowl arrived, it looked exactly like the menu photo, with the chashu slice standing out. I mixed the noodles and started eating. It was rich and thick, but the pickled vegetables added a refreshing touch. I added some vinegar halfway through to make it lighter, and then crushed the Delicious Stick and added it in. It turned into a super junky flavor, which made me laugh. I finished by mixing the remaining ingredients with a bite of rice. The range of flavor changes from start to finish was impressive. I think this mixed ramen should become more popular. Enjoy the destructive power of the Delicious Stick! Thank you for the meal!

Packed with a sense of immorality, this pork bone mixed ramen shop offers various toppings for customization (such as red pepper, yuzu vinegar, garam masala, chili oil, Tabasco, black pepper, etc.). It is recommended to crush Umaibo snacks on top for added flavor. Enjoy the classic mixed ramen!

I ordered the Negi Shio KING Poke Ramen in large size. It was delicious, but... I had high expectations due to its high ratings on Tabelog and the title of being the world champion, so honestly, I felt like it lacked a punch. The saltiness was strong (almost too salty), but the toppings lacked the punch needed for a good harmony of flavors in the mixed noodles. The idea of using a giant chashu or using Umaibo as a topping was interesting, but the weak base flavor left me disappointed.

This time, I visited the pork bone mixed noodle specialty store "Mazesoba Kozou" in Fukushima. This shop is a popular store affiliated with the popular ramen shop "Ramen Kozou" in Fukushima, and it is also a popular shop with long queues.
I tried the "KING PORK Negi Shio Mazesoba" this time. The pork chashu was impressively large and had a strong presence. The flavor was rich with a pork bone base and a nice touch of salted green onions. The pickled ginger added a rich flavor, but I didn't get tired of it until the end.
As a flavor change in the middle, I crushed a Umaibo (a puffed corn snack) and added it. The combination of the rich soup and Umaibo was excellent! It was rich, but I finished it in no time. It was really delicious.

I love ramen and eat it often, but I haven't really tried mazesoba much. On this day, I had some business around Fukushima and decided to have lunch at a stylish mazesoba restaurant that caught my eye. Normally, I wouldn't go in, but I was drawn in by the words "Next Generation Ramen Championship Winner!" on the sign. I know, I'm quite a trend follower (^_^;) I ordered the KING PORK mazesoba for 990 yen from the ticket machine and took a seat at the counter. I thought it might be a place more geared towards men, but there were also solo female diners and groups of women. When the mazesoba arrived, it had a huge piece of braised pork on top, making quite an impact!! The pork was big! But it was so tender and delicious ~( ^ω^ ) The flavor was surprisingly not too strong, with a gentle Japanese-style seasoning that still packed a punch. Mixing it all together, the various flavors blended well and tasted delicious! The crunchy pickled ginger, tender meat, and nutty texture all complemented each other without clashing. The pickled ginger did a great job! Although I don't usually eat much of this type of dish, I was very satisfied and enjoyed it a lot! I noticed that others around me ordered rice and mixed it with the leftover sauce. That looked really tasty too ♡ I was too full to try it this time, but I definitely want to order rice next time (^^) Thank you for the meal.

After a long time, I visited the office with everyone♪ I was planning on having my usual KING Pork, but as a fan of spicy food, I couldn't resist the limited edition Red Hot mixed noodles! It was love at first sight, so I ordered it♥️ I could add extra spiciness, but since it was my first time, I decided to go with the default option and even tried the "heaven and hell" flip for the first time in a while. The delicious flavor of KING Pork remained while the perfect level of spiciness was added! I also added garlic along the way, and my favorite yuzu vinegar for flavor variation, and I finished it all in one go♥️ Next time, I plan to try it with extra spiciness, but when I checked Twitter just now... I saw a post saying that the Red Hot noodles have ended, and the posting time was spot on, it seems like I was the last one to have it!! Haha, but I'm glad I got to enjoy it in the end♥️ Thank you for the meal!

Tonkotsu Mazesoba KOZOU+ was a delicious bowl of noodles. The soup was rich and flavorful, leaving a lingering taste in your mouth even after finishing. The noodles were chewy and satisfying. The seasoning was slightly spicy, which stimulated the appetite and had an addictive quality. Toppings such as chashu, chicken chashu, menma, negi, and nori are available. The restaurant has a spacious interior with many table seats, suitable for families and groups. The prices are reasonable, and the overall experience is satisfying enough to make you want to come back for more.

I heard rumors that KING PORK was famous, so I visited and ordered the Cheese Mazesoba with mayonnaise topping. Despite being a bit junky, there was no lingering smell after eating. The cheese and mayonnaise added a nice touch, and the Fukujinzuke pickles were a good accent. The chashu was delicious on its own or mixed in. It paired well with the chili oil. There were various condiments available, so I wished I could have tried more.

I visited this restaurant which is a sister store of a place I had been to before, and I had been curious about it. Finally, when I visited Fukushima Station, I decided to go. I think I might like mazesoba more than ramen after all. The shop was stylish and beautiful. I was very satisfied with the variety of flavor options for changing the taste!

I recently visited a ramen shop that seemed to have opened recently. I tried their signature dish, the Pork Nantara, and it was delicious with a good amount of volume and impact. The mazesoba was not too heavy, and the combination with green onions was great. Definitely check it out if you're in Honmachi!

"KOZOU+" is a popular Mazesoba restaurant in Fukushima, known for its impactful Mazesoba from head to toe. The KING PORK Mazesoba is priced at 990 yen, with an additional option of Mini Rice for 100 yen. The food ticket machine accepts QR payments. The recommended way to eat is to mix it 12 times from the bottom, incorporating toppings like cashew nuts, pickled radish, and green onions with the flat noodles. Although the broth is rich in tonkotsu flavor, adding rice at the end is a must. It's also recommended to try changing the flavor using condiments at the counter. This was the 133rd bowl of Mazesoba eaten in 23 years."

The most junky flavor I've ever had in a mixed noodles. Maybe it's the artificial seasoning? It doesn't really taste like it though. It has an addictive quality to it. There are dried garlic, sesame seeds, chili oil, vinegar, etc. on the table. There are also Umaibo snacks available, which are recommended to be added into the noodles. Add these toppings as needed, and drizzle chili oil while eating. Surprisingly, the mixed noodles have a lot of broth, so it's good to order a small bowl of rice at the end to finish it all.

A popular ramen shop in Fukushima, also has a branch in Honcho! Tried the PLUS mixed ramen for 890 yen. Arrived at 12:15 with no waiting time on a weekday. It's part of the same group as the popular Tonkotsu ramen shop, Kodomo-san. The PLUS mixed ramen had lots of toppings and a delicious pork bone flavor. Crush the free Delicious Stick and add it to the ramen for even more flavor. There are plenty of condiments on the table for customizing the taste. Next time, I want to try the KING PORK ramen.

An American friend who loves Japanese food sent me a video of foreigners biting into a huge piece of roasted pork. I had been thinking of going there since it's close by, so maybe I'll go check it out. There were a lot of men lined up here. When I went at a different time, I was able to get in normally. I bought a meal ticket at the touch panel ticket machine at the entrance. The recommended KING PORK mixed noodles cost 990 yen. I handed over the ticket and waited for a while. The instructions on how to eat the mixed noodles were written on the ticket. Oh, there are Umaibo snacks? Ah, they were at the entrance. Hmm, so you put the Umaibo snack in last. I haven't really eaten Umaibo snacks much, but I'll take one. The mentaiko flavor seems like it would go well. The mixed noodles have arrived. There are also seasonings at the entrance, so feel free to use them as you like. There seems to be a variety of seasonings, but it's a hassle to go get them (^^;) For now, I'll focus on these mixed noodles. There's a little bit of soup collected at the bottom. It smells like tonkotsu broth. Tonkotsu in mixed noodles is not something you see often. Mix, mix... I'll pull out the medium-thick noodles and have a taste. The tonkotsu broth is on the sweeter side. But maybe the sweetness is mild for mixed noodles? There's a big piece of roasted pork on top. The meaty roasted pork is tough and fatty, with a wild texture and a burnt crust. The toppings in the mixed noodles include a different type of diced roasted pork, pickled radish, peanuts, and green onions. The roasted pork on top is a bit overpowering, so the pickled radish is refreshing. There are also seasonings and toppings available. I'll add sesame seeds, garlic, and yuzu vinegar. I like vinegar. Now, let's add the Umaibo snack. I'll crush it in the bag and sprinkle it on the noodles. The Umaibo snack goes well with it. Mixed noodles are already sweet and savory with a snack-like feel, so it's a good match. But the meat is a bit overpowering. Quite disappointed with the fattiness. The broth is tonkotsu-based and overall rich, making me feel full. By the way, the rice that often comes with mixed noodles is an additional charge here. Maybe that's why? I felt like there was a lot of noodles. Thank you for the meal.

KING PORK Mazesoba 990 yen
Topping: Negi 100 yen
The sauce is a blend of rich pork bone extract and soy sauce. The taste is quite strong. It may be limited in terms of wanting to eat it. The chashu is thinner than expected.

The Tonkotsu Mazesoba at KOZOU+ was not only humorous but also delicious! The noodles mixed with tonkotsu sauce had a sweet and rich flavor. The huge pork belly chashu was impressive. The addition of nuts added a nice texture. I received a free Umaibo and added it, but the natto flavor was too strong and unusual.

Overall rating on Tabelog: 3.65
Date of visit: Friday, June 2, 2023, 19:45
Ordered:
- KING PORK Maze Soba Mini Rice Set for 1,040 yen
- KING PORK Negi Shio Maze Soba Mini Rice Set for 1,140 yen
- Noodle upsize for 200 yen
- Received a free Ajitama (seasoned soft-boiled egg) with a Tabelog coupon
It was drizzling, and the popular pizza place across the street had no line, while this restaurant had no wait for entry. The interior had an L-shaped counter seating arrangement, with only one customer before us. A few customers came and went during our stay, but the place never reached full capacity.
I had high expectations for the rich tonkotsu broth based on a previous experience at a top-ranked shop in the same group. However, the taste of the broth here was more like a sweet soy sauce base, rather than the expected tonkotsu flavor. I ordered the Negi Shio Maze Soba thinking it would have a different base, but it seemed like just a different topping. The noodles were standard thin flat noodles, and both the noodles and soup didn't leave a strong impression.
There were some unique aspects like various condiments available under the ticket machine for flavor customization, and the option to add Umaibo (popular Japanese snack) as a topping. The portion size was quite large, especially after upgrading to a large serving, and I found myself quite full by the end, especially with the mini rice. The signature meat topping was surprisingly tender and tasty, but it didn't have the same wow factor as the melt-in-your-mouth chashu from a famous shop.
The service was solid, as expected from a chain restaurant.

I always rely on this mixed ramen shop. I ordered the Plus Mixed Ramen with BIG Meat Topping and added extra flavor with a Tabelog coupon. And on the 29th, you can get unlimited meat toppings! (Price also increases accordingly) The photo shows 380g of meat, with an additional 300g on top of the original 80g. Apparently, the person who eats the most meat in a month is asked to take a photo with their meat. I wasn't asked for a photo, so someone must have eaten even more meat... The chashu is thick and fatty, so be careful if you're not a fan of fatty foods. When I once ordered 780g of meat, I almost died from the fat... However, the reliable pork bone broth and super huge meat make it a dish that you will definitely be glad you ordered. Highly recommended!

Hello, it's Ramen Walking! Today, I visited KOZOU+ in Fukushima, Osaka, and tried their "KING poke Mazesoba." This is a second brand store of the KOZOU group. I arrived at 7:00 PM and there were a few customers already seated. I ordered the KING poke Mazesoba for 990 yen.
The soup was a blend of rich pork bone broth from the main store and soy sauce from a long-established soy sauce shop in Shimane prefecture. The broth was thick and flavorful, with a nice balance of pork bone and soy sauce flavors.
The noodles were made from Hokkaido wheat and had a smooth texture, perfect for soaking up the rich sauce. The toppings included a large, flavorful chashu, cashew nuts, green onions, and more.
Overall, the meal was satisfying and I left feeling full. KOZOU+ Mazesoba, thank you for the delicious meal!
