One afternoon, five people visited the restaurant after a gap of seven and a half years. We were able to enter without waiting on a weekday around 1:00 PM and were seated in a room on the second floor with tatami mats, tables, and chairs. We ordered a large una-ju (grilled eel over rice) for 2950 yen to share among the five of us. We also had two Sapporo Black Label bottled beers and some side dishes: bone senbei for 350 yen, grilled eel liver for 1120 yen, and grilled eel sushi rolls for 1070 yen. We enjoyed the delicious una-ju and eel dishes together. Even though we each had a portion of the side dishes, we surprisingly ended up feeling full. The price of the una-ju set, which includes una-ju, grilled eel, eel liver, and pickles, has increased from 1600 yen in 2011 to 2950 yen in 2023. It seems like the prices haven't gone up much recently. Last time we visited, we had Malt's bottled beer, but this time we had Kirin Lager or Sapporo Black Label. It seems like they change their beer selection occasionally.

Last time, I was so impressed that I forgot to take a picture! This time, I remembered and snapped a photo first! While it's commonly known as hitsumabushi, here they say hitsumamushi - it's the same delicious dish! During the day, there's usually a long line, so it's easier to get in at night.

I wanted to eat something fancy, so I visited this restaurant. I arrived around 12:00 on a weekday and had to wait a little bit, but it wasn't a big deal. I was seated on the second floor. I ordered the cheapest unadon (grilled eel over rice), as the more expensive options had a higher eel-to-rice ratio. The unadon came with a side of eel liver soup, which was also delicious. I ordered an extra portion of pickles to share, and they divided it into two portions for us, which was a nice touch. The second-floor seating area had a relaxing, traditional inn-like atmosphere. It was delicious!

I went to eat eel on Ugly Day. I arrived at 11:10 and was the 38th in line! It was the Bon holiday season after all. I waited for about 50 minutes. The restaurant was lively and had a nostalgic atmosphere. The prices had gone up by about 650 yen since six months ago. But I still love the crispy texture and flavor. Thank you for the meal.

Around 11:10 am, right after the store opened, I found out my reservation ticket was already number 40. I decided to wait outside the store as I was number 20 on the list, and after waiting for 40 minutes, I received a phone call. When I entered the store, the staff greeted me with a smile and took my order smoothly. The eel was as good as the reviews said, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a nice kick from the small but spicy sansho pepper. The eel sauce was not too sweet nor too spicy, making it a very satisfying lunch. Thank you for the delicious eel and great service. I would love to visit again as this restaurant has become one of my favorites. ^_^

I had eel for lunch. Despite the approaching typhoon, I had to wait for 40 minutes. The adjacent parking lot, which can accommodate 22 cars for free, was full. Two security guards were directing traffic. I took a number tag and registered my phone number. When my turn came, I received a call. I entered the restaurant to find it full and bustling. I ordered the special eel bowl made with one domestic eel for 5200 yen including tax, which was 1500 yen more expensive than before. The eel bowl and eel on rice come with liver and pickled vegetables. The eel was cooked to perfection, tender with a crispy surface from charcoal grilling. Unlike eels from China, the bones were also soft. It had been a while since I had eel from this restaurant, but it was very delicious.

I stopped by on my way back from Kyoto, wondering if it was open. It was before 4:00 PM, but there was already a long line. It's still a popular place. The eel was not greasy at all, with a crispy skin that goes well with beer. The eel roll was juicy and the dashi broth was amazing. The grilled eel with wasabi was a great combination. Finally, the eel rice bowl was delicious and very satisfying.

I stayed at my parents' house and had dinner there. It's hard to part with Unajiro-san, but this place was open all day. I ordered three eel bento boxes, eel liver, and grilled eel. The eel was grilled over charcoal, giving it a fragrant aroma, and the rice was steamed with sauce. The eel had a nice thickness and a slight chewiness, which I like, but this one was soft and tender with a gentle flavor. The base of the eel liver was also large and fluffy, a professional taste. The only disappointment was the grilled liver, which lacked flavor. Thank you for the delicious meal. I indulged myself during both lunch and dinner.

I went to eat eel at Kanime, which is famous for having the most delicious eel in Osaka! The restaurant opened at 11:00, but there was already a long line before 10:30! I recommend making a reservation before going. I had: - Fish I Bento Unaju (2/3 pieces) ¥4,700 - Sashimi platter with Unaju, small sweetfish, liver, and pickles - Unamaki ¥1,250 The Unamaki was crispy on the outside, fragrant, fluffy on the inside, and incredibly tender. It was amazing! There were sauce and sansho pepper on the table, so you can add them to your liking. Both the Unamaki and the liver were exquisite. I definitely want to go back to eat there again. It was so delicious! Thank you for the feast!

The day after the Midsummer Day of the Ox, I visited for lunch. As expected of a popular restaurant, there was a 30-minute wait for 10 groups, and I had the Grilled Eel Rice Bowl. It was delicious, but it lacked the crispy and fragrant feel of Kansai-style grilled eel, which is supposed to be grilled over charcoal without steaming. It may be a matter of personal preference, but personally, I prefer the Kansai-style eel from renowned restaurants in Aichi, Mie, and Gifu in the Tokai region, which has a crispy and fragrant exterior and a soft and fluffy interior. I wonder if I just don't know about it, but perhaps there are no such restaurants in Kansai. The same goes for Uoi.

Lunch on July 30, 2023 (Sunday) (1). With my partner. On the third day of our trip to Osaka. We woke up at 8:20 am and left at 9:58 am. We took the Sakaisuji Line from Nipponbashi to Minami-Morimachi, and then the Tanimachi Line to Sekime-Takadono. We went to this restaurant to eat eel. It was the day of the ox in midsummer, so we initially planned to eat eel in Nagoya, but since we were in Osaka, we decided to search for a restaurant there and ended up at this one. It was a first-come, first-served restaurant without reservations. We arrived at 10:43 am and received a ticket from the waiting line machine. There were many customers in front of the restaurant, but it seemed like most of them were for takeout. Finally, at 11:33 am, we were called to our seats. The menu for the day had three options: Eel Bowl - Special (1 whole eel) (5200 yen) and Eel Rice Box - Top (2/3 eel) (3600 yen). The eel was thick and the surface was crispy while the inside was tender. The sweet sauce was not too strong, which was perfect. It was a delicious Kansai-style eel dish that left us very satisfied.

I went to eat eel for the first time on the midsummer day of the ox, but I didn't expect it to be so crowded. Instead of gaining stamina, it felt more like I was using up stamina going there (laughs). I'd rather go on a less busy day and enjoy my meal slowly. They only had pre-made eel over rice on the menu, and it wasn't even that delicious. There were so many people waiting in the heat outside, so if you don't eat quickly and give up your seat, it's not a good experience. I won't be going back, especially since the eel wasn't even that tasty.

It's a restaurant I often visit and the food is always delicious. Normally, I would have sashimi, but today, with the Day of the Ox approaching, I had dashimaki and eel only. I was tired from traveling, so I asked for a bento. Despite the heat, eating gave me stamina. The taste is always reliably good.

Lunch on July 16th (Sunday) was at "Charcoal Grilled Eel Uoi" where I got a ticket at 12:33 and was seated at 13:53, a wait of 1 hour and 20 minutes. The good smell made me excited. I ordered half grilled eel, grilled eel wrapped in eel, and eel rice bowl, along with a highball. The eel had a crispy texture and was really delicious. However, it was disappointing that the grilled liver came after the eel rice bowl. I would have preferred it to come before the rice. I had the grilled eel rice bowl (with the eel on top) at this restaurant. The eel here is always plump and really whets my appetite. I think they are skilled at steaming it. However, I feel like the grilling level can be a bit inconsistent each time I visit. Personally, I prefer it to be grilled until the surface is crispy.

I happened to come across this place while looking for delicious eel. The exterior and interior photos look great. It has a nice atmosphere like a traditional eel restaurant. Since it was my first time, I ordered a relatively affordable eel and egg rice bowl. As of June 2023, it was ¥1850. Since no instructions were given, I ate the egg as it was, but I wonder if I should have added some seasoning. The eel was delicious as expected, and the soup and pickles were also tasty. I should have ordered the deluxe eel rice bowl to enjoy more eel. I will definitely visit again.

I arrived after 11 o'clock and was able to easily get a table on the second floor as there were no reservations. I ordered una-juu (eel on rice) and eel rolls. The eel was as fluffy as always and the sauce was delicious. However, it seems that the prices have increased by 20% since May, which was a bit disappointing considering I knew the previous prices.

We visited the restaurant with my wife around noon, but it was packed with customers. We returned around 2 p.m. and luckily got a table due to a cancellation. The atmosphere and service were very friendly, and all the dishes we ordered were delicious. The grilled white fish was especially amazing. The cost performance was also good, and we would love to visit this restaurant again.

Today was my third visit to this restaurant. I was surprised to find out that they had raised the price by a thousand yen since my last visit, but the eel bowl at Uoi is still delicious. It's packed with a whole eel, so it really gives you stamina. I lined up before the 11 am opening and went in as soon as they opened. I usually don't write negative reviews on food review websites or social media, but this time I wanted to give some feedback for improvement. I understand that they are busy, but the young female staff members were not friendly at all. They placed the bowl and soup on the table so carelessly, it felt like they were just throwing them down. In department stores or hotels, each dish is presented with care, so I noticed a difference in customer service. Even when a plate was dropped and made a loud noise, there was no apology or acknowledgment from the staff. Visited Uoi-san, recommended by a friend for its delicious eel. Arrived on a rainy weekday around 12:30 pm and got a reservation ticket to wait inside the shop on a bench, which wasn't too bad. After about a 10-minute wait, we were seated. Started with eel rolls and grilled eel liver. The eel rolls were fluffy and had a gentle broth flavor, so I enjoyed them as is. The grilled liver had no unpleasant smell and even those who don't like liver might find it tasty. The sweet and savory seasoning was just right. Then came the grilled eel. It was served on top of a container filled with hot water, keeping it warm until eaten. It was truly delicious! The crispy texture on the surface was enjoyable. Finally, the main dish, the eel rice bowl. It came with liver soup and pickles. The liver soup as a default was a nice touch. The eel was crispy on the outside and tender inside. It had a good balance of fat and sauce, making it a delicious eel rice bowl. The portion was just right, especially after trying various side dishes.
