I went to Hakodate because I wanted to eat crab! I had my favorite crab cream croquette! It was delicious, hot, and creamy! I also enjoyed the crab miso! I tried both Taraba and Kegani crabs too! The staff were all friendly, chatting with me a lot, even showing me tourist magazines and teaching me how to eat crab properly. I had a great time there! All the dishes were delicious!

I met up with a friend who lives in Hakodate after a long time and we decided to drink at this shop. The interior of the shop is very small, with only a counter. There are many young customers. When you come to Hakodate, you should try the crab shell grilled here, as the flavor of the crab is different. The scallop butter has a sweetness from the butter and the scallop. The grilled squid, which is a specialty, has a delicious taste. The crab fried rice has the flavor of crab, but I wish it had a bit more of a crispy texture. The most impressive dish was the squid salted guts, which is a dish that makes you want to eat it again. My friend and I spent a long time drinking, and Daimon Yokocho has various shops and was lively until late.

This was my first visit to a shop in Omote Yokocho that sells crabs. Many shops were closed due to the pandemic, and there were few people walking around, but they were working hard to attract customers. The seating is only at the counter. Since it was cold, I had the crab miso gratin. They also offer crab shabu-shabu.

Hakodate at night. It's a shop I wandered into on Otemon Yokocho. Honestly, it was a mistake... The staff were nice though. It seems to specialize in crab, but the crab steak the customer next to me had looked frozen solid. Locals don't really eat here. It's clearly aimed at tourists. The sashimi was just average. I work at a small izakaya on my own, and this was quite different. Had a beer and a highball, then left with my partner.

While waiting for the bus to Hakodate Airport, I planned to have a light drink, but ended up drinking and eating quite a lot ^_^; It seems like the main dish at the restaurant is crab, but they also offer other seafood dishes at a cheap price and with generous portions (^_^)v The waitresses were very friendly and engaging in conversation, so I ended up drinking too much ^_^;

I visited Hakodate on a trip and wanted to go to Daimon Yokocho. I was hesitant about where to go, but a staff member approached me and I decided to visit their shop. The shops in Daimon Yokocho were all small and the crab house was also small, but it wasn't cramped. I decided to try the crab since I was there. The crab vinegar dish with cucumber and crab was refreshing. The crab miso was sweet, with a sugary sweetness that reminded me of the taste at a seafood izakaya chain. If you like the taste of crab miso itself, you might find it lacking. I wanted to have crab shabu-shabu, but they were out of Taraba crab, so I had a mix of Zuwai and Taraba crab shabu-shabu. The Zuwai crab had a fluffy, tender texture, while the Taraba crab had a firm texture with a satisfying crunch. The broth for shabu-shabu was delicious with the crab flavor. It was a great meal.

I'm not good with crab, so... why did I go there! But I won't say that, it was a lively and fun restaurant with lots of foreign tourists. Even though I can't eat crab, the crab hot pot looked delicious. There are also izakaya menu items available, so it's okay if you can't eat crab.

I left "Kaiyotei Main Store" but since I came all the way to Hakodate tonight, I decided to visit a few more places. I went to "Daimon Yokocho Hakodate Hikari no Yatai" near Hakodate Station, where the staff from "Clubhouse" kindly greeted me, so I decided to go in. I sat at a counter seat with few customers and ordered the popular "Taraba Leg Ishiyaki Steak for 1,780 yen and a highball." The highball arrived quickly and as I was drinking it, they brought a stove and started preparing the Taraba Leg Ishiyaki Steak. It came with frozen king crab and snow crab, shiitake mushrooms, pumpkin, carrots, sweet potatoes, leeks, and butter. They instructed me to start by putting in the butter and then adding the crab in order. I followed their instructions and tried it. It was delicious, especially the crab! The other ingredients were decent. I had a few more highballs as I planned to visit other places, so I paid the bill and left the restaurant. Thank you for the meal tonight!
