I visited a Chinese restaurant located on the first floor of a building adjacent to the station for lunch on Saturday. I ordered the Fullness Set for 950 yen. The set includes a choice of Xiao Long Bao and either one of five types of noodles or fried rice. I chose the Dan Dan Noodles and steamed dumplings, while my companion opted for fried rice and Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice). The Dan Dan Noodles had a rich sesame broth that was delicious. The dishes were visually appealing and presented elegantly, and the flavors were well-balanced and tasty.

Rich shrimp miso tantanmen lunch set for ¥1,350. It’s been almost a year since I visited JINDINROU; the prices have gone up a bit, but the taste is great! The rich shrimp miso soup is totally to my liking! #JINDINROU #Ding's by JINDINROU

I visited before a concert at Yokohama Arena. I received a colorful xiaolongbao (three pieces) for showing my ticket, which was a nice bonus. I ordered a Taiwan beer and enjoyed it with a side of pickled mustard greens and a chicken salad while waiting for the shumai. The shumai was indeed a signature dish and had a rich meat flavor; I could easily eat four of them. The xiaolongbao also had different flavors, and they were fresh and delicious. Although I don’t have a photo, the mapo tofu was not spicy but authentic and served hot. The staff were all very kind, and it was nice that the place was not crowded even before the concert.

Since I finished work earlier than expected in Shin-Yokohama, the three of us decided to grab a light drink. We considered going to 鼎’s by JIN DIN ROU on the first floor of the Shin-Yokohama Cubic Plaza, which I had never been to before. The staff was somewhat unfriendly, but we all decided to order drinks and play a little game called "Chinchiro"! We started with a refreshing dish of pickled cucumber (which was quite nice), and the highball was half price! We also tried the delicious fried gyoza (which was just average), and I wished we could have enjoyed the hot xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) right out of the steamer. The "mega" highball was said to be a liter, but with so much ice it felt more like 600ml. The potato salad from Din's was quite good, and the plain pickled vegetables (which were exactly what they sound like). In the end, the two people I was with managed to roll for free drinks twice, while I only got the half-price and two mega drinks, haha! Chinchiro is fun, but it was a bit disappointing overall!

The ginger chicken was delicious again. The stir-fried greens and the anka-kei yakisoba were also really good. The shumai was large and had a nice crunch, which was tasty too. There were no misses with the food. It seems that there is fried rice for lunch, but I would be happy if there were rice dishes available for sharing at dinner as well. The xiao long bao, served with black vinegar and shredded ginger, was incredibly delicious! We played the dice game, Chinchiro, three times. We rolled doubles twice, so we got two drinks for free: a highball and a lemon sour. Thank you! For the third roll, we got an odd number, resulting in a big mug. The sour drink was weak, so I didn't feel any buzz at all. In Chinchiro, they bring you a steamer with two dice, and you roll them; doubles mean a free drink, even numbers get you half off, and odd numbers result in a mega mug. If I had chosen beer, I would have had proper alcohol, but if I drank a lot, it would become quite expensive. I had one ginger chicken and compared a mega mug to umeshu. I ended up very full. Thank you for the meal!

There's a Chinese restaurant in the Shin-Yokohama Cubic Plaza that has a name I can't read at all. It seems to be a sister store of "Kyotei Rou" in Ebisu. This area gets really congested during lunch hours, but I was lucky enough to get in with just a short wait. I ordered the set meal for 1,050 yen (tax included), which includes a choice of noodles and a mini rice bowl. I chose the dan dan noodles and chicken rice. By the way, the way they prominently display prices without tax feels a bit cheap, so I wish they would stop doing that. The dan dan noodles were the creamy and rich type that I love, with a wonderful nutty sesame flavor, and it was quite delicious. I ended up pouring the broth from the dan dan noodles over the chicken rice to eat it, so I couldn't really taste the original flavor of the chicken rice. It seems their dim sum is highly recommended, so I might try that next time...

You can enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine in Shin-Yokohama for around 900 to 1200 yen per person! The shumai with cartilage was especially delicious! The set with tantanmen and lu rou fan is quite filling. The restaurant was crowded with office workers during lunchtime on a weekday, so the service was a bit rough.

Reasonably priced and perfect for a casual drink, with soup dumplings, mapo tofu, lu rou fan, and Taiwan beer! During lunch, there were fewer a la carte options, so dinner time might be better for gatherings. There were also other dishes I wanted to try, so I plan to visit again when I can choose from the evening menu.

During the day in Shin-Yokohama, I walked around for lunch and initially lined up at a soba restaurant, but it seemed like it would take a while, so I went to the place across the street, which looked less busy. I thought the lunch set might be too heavy, so I asked if I could order just a single item during lunch hours. They told me that the main dish of the lunch set could be ordered individually. I figured the main dish referred to the dim sum options that were part of the lunch set, so I went in. Looking at the menu, I ordered three each of the small steamed buns and shumai, which are also included in the lunch set. After a short wait, both dishes arrived at the table at the same time, and I was told that ginger and black vinegar are recommended for the small steamed buns. So, I decided to try the small steamed buns first. They were quite small. I picked one up with my chopsticks and placed it on a spoon, but when I bit into it, no juice came out! It wasn't even hot! What is going on? Is this really the selling point of the restaurant? The shumai was relatively tasty. However, I have no plans to revisit this place.

This shop is located in a building directly connected to the station. I dropped by just before catching my Shinkansen, and the service was impressively quick from ordering to receiving my food, which really met my needs. Since this was our third stop, we ordered dumplings and another dish for two people, along with two drinks each, and I think the price was very reasonable. This is partly because of the chinchiro game, where we won quite a bit; we got 3 out of 4 rounds at half price.

I finally visited the chain dim sum restaurant, 京鼎樓, which has locations everywhere. Surprisingly, it was my first time there. After having a big breakfast, I wasn't hungry at all until lunch, but as the afternoon passed, I decided to eat something. The gourmet street in Shin-Yokohama has a variety of restaurants lined up. Based on my research, the "Full Belly Set" at 京鼎樓 seemed to have good value for money. Since it was a somewhat odd time, I could enter without waiting. "Please call me when you're ready to order!" "Oh, I’m ready!" I ordered the Full Belly Set with dan dan noodles and mapo rice right away, and it arrived quickly. The rich dan dan noodles, which are a specialty, looked extremely thick and flavorful. I took a sip of the soup, and surprisingly, it wasn't as spicy as it looked; instead, the strong flavors of sesame and peanuts spread across my palate. This was delicious. I took a bite of the mapo rice, and just as its appearance suggested, it had an authentic taste with a numbing sensation from the peppercorns. This was also very tasty. The portion was satisfying as well. True to its name, I felt completely full. All of this for 1,050 yen including tax—it's a great deal for a salaryman eating out. After overindulging for breakfast and lunch, I, of course, couldn't eat anything for dinner.

On a weekday evening, I entered the restaurant before heading back to Shizuoka. I ordered the Ten Shin set meal (1880 yen). I chose shrimp wonton noodles, shumai, and a beer. I also used a free coupon for xiao long bao, which added to the volume of the meal. Honestly, the taste wasn't as good as I had hoped. However, I was able to satisfy my hunger.

I heard that the soup dumplings here are delicious, so I wanted to give it a try and visited for lunch. When I looked at the menu, I found a "Casual Lunch Set" that includes an appetizer, a choice of dim sum, and a choice of main dish (noodles or rice), and I decided immediately to go with that. I ordered the "Steamed Soup Dumplings" and "Rich Dan Dan Noodles." As the name suggests, the Rich Dan Dan Noodles had a very thick sesame flavor, and the broth was incredibly tasty✨. The steamed soup dumplings burst with juices, making them another fantastic dish✨. The spiciness level for the Dan Dan noodles was either "0" or "normal," so I chose "normal," but I didn't find it too spicy. You can adjust the heat by adding Hong Kong chili oil to your liking. The interior of the restaurant was bright and spacious, and the staff provided thorough explanations. Despite this, it wasn't overly crowded… I definitely want to come back. Next time, I plan to visit in the evening to try various dim sum dishes!

I visited for the first time on a weekday night by myself. I had a set that costs 1580 yen, which included soup dumplings and dan dan noodles. The cost-performance ratio is a bit questionable, but the soup dumplings were quite good, and the dan dan noodles had a mild spiciness, probably due to the cheese. Overall, I was satisfied with the taste. I think I will go again. Thank you for the meal!

I visited this place with friends for a light drink before going to a concert at Nissan Stadium. When I rolled the dice for drinks, I ended up with a quite large mug. I was worried that I'd get the big mug again for my second drink, so I ordered normally instead. The soup dumplings and potato salad were delicious. It's great that you can drink affordably on weekday afternoons. I will definitely visit again.

On a holiday night, I waited in line a bit before being shown to a table where everyone seemed to be drinking. Since I wanted to have a meal, I ordered a set of soup dumplings and dan dan noodles. When they realized I wasn’t ordering any alcohol, they brought me some lukewarm water, which made me wonder if they expected me to order alcohol or a non-alcoholic drink. The soup dumplings were delicious, but the dan dan noodles were just okay. I ended up feeling quite full.

I'm sorry to give a relatively low rating, but compared to the braised pork rice I recently had at the actual location, it felt like a different dish. The shumai had a meaty texture and was filling, but in comparison, the braised pork rice lacked impact. I might try something else next time I go…

I opted for a great lunch set! The shumai had cartilage in it, providing a fluffy texture with a delightful crunchy bite, making it very delicious. The soup dumplings were also juicy, bursting with broth, and tasted fantastic with ginger. Since we could choose between shumai and soup dumplings, my friend and I ordered one of each to share. For the noodles, I chose the salty ramen with chicken broth, which had a gentle flavor—perfect for hot days. I definitely want to go back!

I enjoyed a set meal where I could choose my favorite noodle dish and either shumai or xiaolongbao. Since I went with a friend, we shared both the shumai and the xiaolongbao. The tantanmen had a strong sesame flavor, and it wasn't as spicy as it looked, making it very delicious. The xiaolongbao was tasty, but I prefer shumai. (If you like noodles with a chewy texture, I'd recommend the xiaolongbao, as its skin is thick and prominent!)

I really like JIN DIN ROU and eat there often, but this was my first time at this location. The atmosphere inside was very casual. The soup dumplings were as delicious as ever; I wanted to order more! This time, I also tried the pan-fried soup dumplings for the first time, and they were incredibly tasty too! ✨ I always order the dandan noodles, and they were delicious as well. I want to go back for more! I think everything I order there is usually good. Even in the hot summer, the food was appetizing, and I was able to eat a lot.

I went to "Handmade Shumai Tavern JINDINROU" located in Cubic Plaza Shin-Yokohama. We started with a toast over some draft beer. The appetizer menu has a variety of options and is very reasonable. The smashed cucumber with shrimp has a perfect level of saltiness, making it a great snack. I enjoyed it alongside the spicy chicken with miso sauce. The shrimp chili features large, plump shrimp that are deliciously spicy. The "Juicy Soup Dumplings" and the handmade shumai are served in a steamer. They come hot, full of meat juice, and are incredibly tasty. I enjoyed the soup dumplings with some sliced ginger and black vinegar. The mapo tofu packs a numbing spiciness that is really enjoyable. For drinks, they offer unique options like the careful bar's lemon sour and salty plum sour. To wrap things up, I had the rich sesame dan-dan noodles. The spicy noodles are a perfect finish to the meal. I was very satisfied with the combination of alcohol, soup dumplings, and Chinese dishes. I’d love to visit again.
