I visited three different restaurants starting from the morning for Premium Friday food and drink hopping. By lunchtime, I had visited Udon Kyutaro in Fukushima at 7 am, Marutoku in Kyobashi at 8 am, and Maru Sushi in Kamihonmachi at 10 am. Despite feeling quite full, I couldn't resist stopping by my favorite Oden restaurant, Marugome, on my way home from Tennoji. I started with an Old Fashioned highball, followed by classic dumplings and a recommended dish called "Beef and grated yam." The beef was tender and flavorful, paired well with the grated yam and seaweed. I also tried some whale meat, which was fatty and delicious. Overall, the Oden beef dish was a standout. Although my stomach was feeling a bit too full, I still had plans to visit a newly opened sushi restaurant in Minami-Osaka for dinner. Looks like my food and drink adventure will continue into the night!

Oden shop's Potesara - 420 yen A hot potesara made with oden eggs and potatoes, unique to oden shops! It's amazing! Tofu rice - 450 yen Flavorful tofu and rice cooked in dashi! It's incredibly delicious! You can also pour dashi over it halfway through and turn it into ochazuke! Oden dashi mixed with alcohol - 480 yen When you come to an oden shop, this is a must-try! The oden dashi is mixed with bonito flakes and poured over hot sake! It's incredibly delicious! I sprinkled shichimi halfway through and it's a drink that makes you want to drink more alcohol! The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great! The prices are reasonable and it's a really good restaurant! I happened to come in without a reservation, but I recommend making a reservation in advance or calling ahead before going. "Thank you for the meal"

I visited Tenkacha after about a year and a half, and it was not crowded so I decided to go in. I had oden with car fu, octopus, daikon radish, egg, and cabbage roll. I also had a black label beer in a medium bottle, water octopus with sesame oil and salt, and oden broth mixed with shochu. The popular menu item now is sashimi with water octopus seasoned with sesame oil and salt, which was incredibly delicious. The oden was consistently delicious as always. The oden broth mixed with Atago no Matsu was also as delicious as ever. Thank you for the meal.

I had heard from various people that "#Tenkachaya's Marukome is delicious," but I had underestimated it, thinking "Well, it's just an oden shop..." and hadn't gone. It's natural for oden to be delicious at an oden shop, but the one-dish dishes were also delicious. The quality is on par with high-end restaurants where you would normally pay around 15,000 yen. And the cost here is less than half of that! The staff's service is also wonderful. I regret not visiting sooner. While on my way to Izumiotsu, I had some time to spare during a transfer, so I decided to visit a restaurant that I had bookmarked and was curious about, even though it was far from Umeda. It was a great opportunity for a daytime drink as well! The restaurant had a counter with 16 seats surrounding the kitchen. The master seemed to be in charge of serving the oden and managing the quality, while the other four staff members handled order taking and other miscellaneous tasks in a somewhat bossy style. Although I'm not very familiar with oden, I decided to try the "toumeshi" as a beginner-friendly option. The toumeshi set (950 yen) includes 5 oden items chosen by the chef, toumeshi, and pickles. The toumeshi, which is usually eaten as a finishing touch, was served first and I was asked if I wanted it right away. I had never tried toumeshi before, but its flavor was incredibly powerful! The clay pot rice was topped with slightly flavored grilled tofu soaked in plenty of broth, each with its own strong personality. Whether eaten separately or mixed, it was simply delicious! When the broth was provided, I was told that I could make ochazuke anytime, so I requested it halfway through the meal, and it was also delicious. Oden items like konnyaku and fried tofu were the tastiest. The daikon was slightly bitter as it was not in season, which was a bit disappointing. The broth was a bit light, but it allowed me to enjoy the gradual infusion of flavors. Overall, the toumeshi stood out as the most delicious dish I had tried. Thank you for the meal.

When it comes to daytime drinking, this place is the best! You have to make a reservation for dinner because the oden is so delicious that you won't get in otherwise. The Moroheiya oden was especially good on this day! The classic shumai and whale korokke are tastier here than at any other restaurant! Don't miss the oden broth cocktail and the rice with pickled plums (or in winter, with shirako)!

The other day, I was taken to Marukome, a popular oden restaurant by a friend. At first, I thought it was just a place for delicious shumai dumplings, but when I tried the oden, I was pleasantly surprised. The shumai in the oden was really tasty! I also enjoyed other menu items and the ponzu sake I had at the end was amazing. I definitely want to go back to this place, but it seems like making a reservation is necessary.

I made a reservation at Marukome, a specialty oden shop, for 8:00 PM, which was a bit late, so until then I had some kushikatsu at Tsutenkaku from the evening. I ate kushikatsu until 7:30 PM and my stomach was full, so I walked to Tennoji on foot. I thought it was close, but it was quite a distance to walk, and it was a hot summer night, so I arrived at the restaurant sweating. First, I chugged a beer to reset my hot body. The reservation was for 8:00 PM and the shop closed at 9:00 PM, so I ordered about 5 types of oden that I liked. The dashi was well-infused and each ingredient had a delicious taste, so I enjoyed my meal while watching the clock. The finale was the oden tofu on the dashi-cooked rice, which was exquisite! The style of being able to have a cup of sake poured until it runs out was great! I also ordered the oden dashi mixed with sake, which made me want to drink it again in winter. The cost performance was good, and I would like to visit again.

There is a shop located a few minutes from Nanhai Tenkata Tea House Station. It has a counter in the shape of a "コ" where about 10 people can sit. This is my first visit. I ordered a draft beer at the counter. For food, I ordered my favorite items: plum grilled rice ball, thick fried tofu, ginger tempura, and cabbage roll. I also added another dish of vinegar-marinated sardines. The plum grilled rice ball and thick fried tofu arrived first. I tried them right away and they tasted delicious with a flavorful broth. The sardines also arrived and they were tasty without any fishy smell. Next, the ginger tempura and cabbage roll arrived. These two dishes seemed to be homemade. Especially the cabbage roll was delicious with a generous amount of minced meat. Finally, I added another dish of jellyfish marinated in vinegar. This one had a very ordinary taste. Overall, the oden dishes were the most delicious.

The broth looked rich but had just the right amount of sweetness and was delicious. The beef tendons were tender, and the pork cartilage was soft and chewy. The atmosphere was nice, and the staff were very polite. The lettuce cheese had a crunchy texture, and the clams were luxurious. I recommend making a reservation before going as there might be a wait otherwise. ☺️

My last dining out was at Marumai in June, so it's been a while. On this day, I started off early at a beauty salon in Sakai Higashi for a haircut with the theme of Sex Pistols. After that, it was time for lunch, and I decided to go with this place, which left a good impression during my last visit. I made a reservation the day before for 12 o'clock, just for myself, and it was okay. Phew! ● Dishes I Tried: This time, I focused on trying the oden dishes that I didn't have last time! *Explanation of oden... There are two types of broth used: Kitsune (light) and Kuro (dark). I have recently started working near Tenkachaya Station. When I checked on Tabelog, it seems there is a delicious oden restaurant nearby. They also serve lunch, so I decided to give it a try! I read that it can be difficult to get a table even on weekdays if you don't make a reservation. I arrived around 11:30 am on a weekday, but it seemed like they were not open yet. I asked one of the staff members, and they said they would open at 12 pm. I inquired if I could make a reservation for today, and they said it would be fine. I made a reservation for 12 pm and passed the time by having coffee nearby. When I arrived at the restaurant before 12 pm, there were already some solo female diners waiting in line. At 12 pm, I was able to sit at the counter. The aroma of the delicious broth filled the air. I ordered cold sake, duck breast, shumai, daikon, and ginger tempura. The duck breast was delicious, so I had high hopes for the oden. The solo female diner ordered a set meal. The daikon, shumai, and ginger tempura arrived, and they were all incredibly tasty. The daikon had soaked up the flavorful broth perfectly. The shumai was also very delicious. I was curious about the fried ganmodoki, so I ordered it. They fried it, then immediately put it in a pot and brought it to me. I tried it, and it was incredibly tasty and full of flavor. The solo female diner seemed satisfied with her meal and left. Since it was a weekday afternoon, I enjoyed two glasses of cold sake, oden, and for dessert, I couldn't decide what to have but ended up choosing udon. Fifth stop on the bar hopping tour of the day! The highlight was "Marukome," a popular oden restaurant that everyone loves. We made a reservation this time to avoid missing out like last time when it was fully booked. We started at 3:30 pm, and were led to a special arena seating area with two bubbling oden pots. I ordered my favorite homemade chili shochu highball for 450 yen, which was deliciously spicy and paired perfectly with the oden. The oden selection was impressive, with a variety of tasty ingredients. I personally enjoyed the Nishikyo-yaki with Hakkaisan sake. We finished off with a Hibiki highball. Everyone in our group was very satisfied with the experience, and it was a great choice to bring them here.

Finally got a reservation and visited this cozy and compact oden restaurant. The atmosphere was great with only a counter seating. We tried the recommended homemade mashed items - ginger tempura and cheese tempura. They were amazing with drinks, especially wine. We ended up having 3 glasses each and the total bill for two people was 8,000 yen, which was very reasonable. We will definitely come back again. Thank you!

No matter what you eat, it's super delicious!! The must-try items are pork cartilage, shumai, whale hormone, potatoes, and octopus in oden. Any other dish besides oden is also a great choice. As an eggplant lover, I definitely want to take home the chilled eggplant (laughs). It's great that they can accommodate special requests not on the menu. The wide variety of drinks makes it very enjoyable. I definitely recommend making a reservation, I wonder if it will be available next time, I already want to go back (laughs). The dashi was too sweet. I prefer oden with less sweetness, so it was disappointing that it didn't suit my taste. However, the items like processed fish cakes that were made on the spot were delicious. I thought it would be perfect if the sweetness was reduced and more bonito and kelp flavor were added to the dashi. The service was also good.

We had made a reservation the day before, and when we tried to enter with my friend, a group leaving the restaurant gave way to us before we could give our name for the reservation. We toasted with highballs and shochu highballs. There were beef tendon, daikon radish, potatoes, and horse liver, so I thought I could drink alcohol here (laughs). Today, my friend treated me, so I ordered various dishes without hesitation and also ordered the specialty sake oden dashi cocktail. It was too sweet and I couldn't drink it! While I was feeling upset about it, another customer who didn't have a reservation came and asked us to move to another table... I thought, why did we make a reservation then? If we have to give up our seats, let's just leave. We decided to go to another place.
