On this day, I took a rare afternoon off, so I wanted to have a leisurely and slightly luxurious lunch, so I carefully considered my options from the morning (←focus on work!). I came up with a good idea of enjoying a variety of Italian appetizers with a crisp white wine, which was recommended by my fellow reviewer, so I decided to visit this place.
① About the restaurant's exterior, atmosphere, and interior
About a 5-minute walk from Temmabashi Rokuchome Station. Facing a major road, the simple appearance with a subtle shop sign on a pure white wall might make you pass by if it's your first visit. However, it's stylish and fashionable! The interior has a warm atmosphere with a wood-based design. There is also a spacious counter seat facing the kitchen, which is convenient for solo diners like me.
② About the food
The basic lunch set (1,500 yen) includes:
- Assorted 3 appetizers (with salad)
- Homemade bread
- Today's pasta (choose from 2 options)
- Drink
I decided to upgrade further by adding 400 yen for 6 types of appetizers. I also ordered the house wine (white) by the glass. The pasta of the day was "Spaghetti with Mochi Pork and Sprout Cabbage," and although I was tempted by the couscous, I opted for the spaghetti. The appetizers were colorful and vibrant, and each dish had a thoughtful touch that complemented the white wine well. The homemade bread made with whole wheat was warm and had a pleasant wheat aroma. The pasta was served hot and fresh, with a rich blend of flavors and a hint of spice that added a sophisticated touch.
③ About the staff's service
The female staff managed the hall on her own, and her greetings, seating guidance, and explanations of the dishes were all done well. The male chef, who seemed to be the owner, was busy in the kitchen, and there was another female assistant. At first, I thought the chef seemed a bit unapproachable, but as I observed, I noticed his smile, greetings, and attention to detail in adjusting the cooking speed based on the customers' needs.
④ About the value for money
With a satisfying assortment of appetizers, a reasonably priced but delicious glass of house wine, a generous portion of pasta, and freshly brewed coffee, all for 2,200 yen, it seems like a very good deal. The pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant and the staff's courteous service added to the high level of satisfaction. I believe it offers good value for money.
⑤ Other observations
In times like these, enjoying a leisurely lunch on a weekday with wine, appetizers, pasta, and coffee is truly a delightful experience.
