Today, I had breakfast at the hotel where I am staying. Before breakfast, I took a morning bath (hot spring) to warm up my body and increase my appetite. This time, the breakfast was mainly focused on seafood such as squid sashimi, amberjack pickles, Matsumae pickles, hot spring tofu, and grilled trout. We had a hearty meal before moving to Sapporo. The squid sashimi and amberjack pickles were particularly fresh and delicious.

Today, I revisited Yunohama Hotel in Yunokawa Onsen, Hakodate City. This time, I stayed with my child and had a plan that included dinner and breakfast. For dinner, there was a sashimi buffet with squid sashimi and yellowtail sashimi, as well as live cooking of freshly grilled Genghis Khan (lamb BBQ) and salt ramen. The photo is shared with my child. I had a little rice and lamb curry. As for me, I was very satisfied because all the dishes I wanted to eat were lined up as part of the meal. The hot spring also warmed my body with good hot water.

I stayed at a discounted rate using the national travel support and Hakodate discount plan! The traditional Japanese-style room on the ocean side was amazing, waking up to the sound of the waves was the best. The open-air bath was also fantastic with an infinity view! The buffet had a variety of fresh sashimi and delicious salt ramen, I was very satisfied with everything. Check out the details here: Yunohama Hotel's open-air bath and the amazing view from the room ♥ Hakodate discount stay report.

I am traveling around the country in search of truly delicious food. This time, I stayed in Hakodate. [Area] Hokkaido Hakodate Area [Genre] Ryokan [Awards] None in particular [Frequency of Visit] First time [Crowdedness] There were many students on a school trip. [Food] I had high expectations as they also served seafood, but it was just okay. It might be better to go out to eat for meals. [Space/Facilities] The room was average. The bath was also average, but the open-air bath was really nice. It had a sense of cleanliness and the view of the sea made it feel like a unique ryokan. [Customer Service] Nothing in particular [Overall Evaluation] A hot spring resort located near Hakodate Airport. There are several ryokans lined up, making it a dilemma whether to stay in the city center every time. Thank you for the meal.

Category: Favorite Izakaya (Hokkaido, Tohoku) Today is a day in Hakodate. Checked in at "Yunohama Hotel" and watched the Arima Kinen. Then relaxed in the hot springs. For dinner, decided to stay in the hotel and have dinner there. The dinner buffet was mostly couples and families, with only one solo diner. Ordered a large beer at the counter and then picked up dishes at the buffet. Went for sashimi as the main dish. Tuna, yellowtail, salmon, squid, octopus. Also had salad, carpaccio, chawanmushi, and squid marinated in salt. The sashimi was fresh and delicious. From the grilled section, tried the Genghis Khan (grilled lamb). Even though dining solo, had a generous portion. Waited for the large beer and enjoyed the meal. Sashimi and Genghis Khan alone were quite filling. Finished with just the curry roux. In the evening, there were some people around, but the night-time hot spring bath was private. Couples and families seemed to enjoy in-room activities. Enjoyed the outdoor bath listening to the sound of the waves. Maybe sing Chisato Moritaka's "Zutto Umi wo Miteta" (I've Always Been Watching the Sea) as well. It was a good hot spring. Thank you for taking care of me. Yunohama Hotel, 1-2-30 Yunokawa-cho, Hakodate, Hokkaido.

On this day, I stayed at "Yunohama Hotel" using the "new style of travel" accommodation. I enjoyed the morning bath, rested a bit in my room, and then headed to breakfast right away! The breakfast venue was the same as the dinner venue from last night, but in the morning, it offered a fantastic view of the Tsugaru Strait. I realized that I was drinking beer with such a great view last night. I sat at the same table as last night. The breakfast was a Japanese set meal. The freshly cooked rice was delicious as always! The side dishes were all tasty. There were plenty of dishes and everything was perfect. They all seemed like great options for beer snacks (laughs). The lady in charge of the morning breakfast venue was also very friendly, and I got a boost of energy from her in the morning.

I stayed at "Yunohama Hotel" on this day, experiencing a new style of travel accommodation. I checked in before 4 pm and was assigned a room with a beautiful view of the sea. I could hear the sound of the waves when I opened the window, making it a great room in my opinion. After enjoying the hot springs and relaxing in my room, it was time for dinner. I gave my name at the dinner venue and was seated. There was one person already seated and two more arrived later, all dining alone. I started with a "draft beer" of the brand "Sapporo Classic" and the assorted sashimi was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by how tender the steak was. The squid dumpling hot pot had a flavorful broth and the chawanmushi (savory steamed egg custard) was the type I like, not too sweet. And to my delight, there were no sweet chestnuts in it! To have this type of chawanmushi in a tourist spot like Yunokawa Onsen was a pleasant surprise! With two glasses of draft beer and one bottle of beer, I thoroughly enjoyed a satisfying dinner. It was really delicious!

I took a morning bath around 5 am and then enjoyed a breakfast buffet with a one-part system starting at 6:30 am. I had the famous Hakodate dish "Squid Somen", marinated tuna, and hot spring tofu made in the hot spring. The Squid Somen, marinated tuna, and soy sauce-marinated salmon roe were delicious.

Today, I stayed at this hotel in Hakodate Yunokawa Onsen. Dinner was served buffet-style in two sessions. I attended the second session starting at 7:30 PM. The buffet included local dishes such as Matsumae pickles, sashimi, salmon with koji, Genghis Khan (grilled lamb), and half portions of salt ramen, among many other dishes. Although I didn't try it this time, I believe there was also Genghis Khan curry available. As a COVID-19 precaution, gloves and masks were provided. The dining area was clean, and the food was delicious. The freshly grilled Genghis Khan was especially tasty.

In mid-April, I took advantage of the Hakodate discount and the Do-Min discount and went there because it was very cheap. The place had been renovated since my last visit and it was looking great. The room was basic, with a slight tobacco smell, but had a great view of the sea. I sat by the window for a while, enjoying the sound of the waves and watching the sun set behind the mountains. The hotel had some original merchandise in the gift shop, like cookies and seagull hand towels. For dinner, there was a buffet with a decent variety of dishes, including local octopus sashimi and unique delicacies. The Genghis Khan lamb with bell pepper sauce was delicious, as well as the lamb curry. Breakfast had freshly baked bread and a spicy soup curry. The staff were all very friendly. The hotel had two baths on the first floor, Galaxy and Ocean, but the bath on the upper floor was no longer there. The Galaxy bath had a sauna, which the Ocean bath did not have, so only the men's bath had a sauna. With the sea and hot springs, this place was worth the price.

This is a hot spring inn located about a 5-minute walk from the Dentetsu Yunokawa Onsen Station. I used their day trip hot spring facility. The front desk and restaurant were bright and had new facilities with wood accents. The stone bath had a charming atmosphere. The outdoor bath had a fantastic location with a view of the Tsugaru Strait. The lobby was also spacious and new, which was nice.

Hakodate is a compact city and Yunokawa Onsen here is very close, just a five-minute taxi ride from Hakodate Airport, making it ideal for elderly people and families with young children. We stayed at Yunohama Hotel, selected through a tour. The buffet meals in the morning and evening were not extensive in variety but everything was delicious, especially the fresh seafood like sashimi. The alcoholic drinks were reasonably priced, with Sapporo Classic draft beer at 500 yen and various local sake selections at around 1200 yen. The hotel staff were all friendly and very kind, making our stay comfortable. The renovated open-air bath was particularly amazing, with hot spring water flowing directly from the source. The hot salty water warmed us up nicely, and the bath was always clean due to the flowing spring water. The most impressive experience was soaking in the open-air bath in the morning. The bath, which seemed to lead to the sea, had a huge amount of steam due to the high temperature of the hot spring water. Stepping out into the bath, we were surrounded by thick steam, creating a surreal atmosphere. Walking into the steam, we could see the beach, the sea, and even Aomori Prefecture in the distance. It was a fantastic hot spring experience, and we would definitely love to stay here again.

There was only one hotel to choose from here and one other place. We arrived at the ryokan from Aomori around 6 pm. The Hakodate night view tour was at 7:30 pm, and I wanted to try various foods in Hakodate, so I chose this place where you can enjoy hot springs while watching the fishing fires. They had a buffet for dinner and breakfast. Seafood in Hakodate is delicious. However, the tonkatsu they cooked in front of me was tough and not tasty. So, I only had seafood, two pieces of tempura, grated yam, potatoes, pumpkin, petit cake, pink grapefruit, and a latte. For breakfast, I had a not-so-tasty croissant that I warmed up in the toaster, which was a frozen commercial bread. I couldn't hide the bad taste even with jam. I had rice porridge instead. It was delicious with rock seaweed and kelp. I also had yogurt and drinks. Even though it's Hakodate... the breakfast at Asamushi Onsen and the buffet I had in Shizukuishi were much tastier. The buffet area had no windows, just a large old hall from the Showa era. It was dimly lit, and the seats were cramped. Also, to get to the dining room from the elevator, you had to pass through the lounge where many people were smoking. Even though I had just washed up and felt refreshed, I had to walk through the smoke. The walls seemed thin because the karaoke noise from the banquet hall was quite loud and echoed in the hallway and rooms. The hot springs were nice. The water flowed vigorously, and it constantly overflowed from the bath. Dinner ★2.5, Breakfast ★2.6, Hot Springs ★3.9, Facilities ★2.5

The plane didn't fly, so I had to make a lot of phone calls to finally get a reservation at this foggy place. It seems that it's common for flights not to operate here, as I was informed when making the reservation. The atmosphere inside is like a traditional Japanese hot spring inn, with the rooms feeling old-fashioned. It reminded me of a family trip I took when I was a young child. I checked in before 10 pm and checked out before 5 am, so the room rate was less than 9000 yen for a room without meals. The restaurant also serves Russian cuisine, which I was curious to try. The front desk area also sells souvenirs, adding to the nostalgic atmosphere. The hot spring water was slightly salty, and there is apparently a Russian-style hot spring as well, although I couldn't figure out which one it was.

This time, I stayed at Yunohama Hotel for a business trip to the southern part of Hokkaido. It was a plan for one night with two meals included. There aren't many interesting places to wander around at night in this area, so it seemed like a reasonable choice. It had been over twenty years since I last visited Yunokawa, so I was quite looking forward to it. Upon arrival, the parking lot was very crowded... I managed to find a narrow space and parked my car before checking in. I didn't know that the hotel staff would park the car for you. [Dinner] It was a buffet style dinner in a large hall. Seats were assigned to each room. I had curry rice, miso soup, squid sashimi, tonkatsu, zangi (fried chicken), salmon fry, and salad. I also had a jug of beer (600 yen) while enjoying the meal. The curry was a bit spicy as warned in the note, the squid sashimi was tolerable, the zangi was average with a bit too much fat, and the salmon fry was decent. The tartar sauce was surprisingly delicious. There was nothing particularly outstanding, but it was a good value for those who want to eat a lot. [Breakfast] The next morning, the atmosphere was quiet compared to the noisy dinner the night before. It was much more comfortable without the loud foreign tourists. I had rice, seaweed tsukudani, pickled plum, natto, miso soup, grilled salmon, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, salad, and milk. Everything was typical of a buffet breakfast. The seaweed tsukudani and grilled salmon were particularly delicious. I had breakfast at the same hotel the following day, and they made an effort to change the menu to accommodate guests staying multiple nights. Thank you for the meal.

Business trip. This time, I stayed at "Yunohama Hotel" in Yunokawa Onsen, which is said to be one of the three major hot spring resorts in Hokkaido. It is a hot spring that attracts many tourists from both inside and outside the prefecture. It has been a while since I last visited Hakodate for business, and staying in Yunokawa is even longer. Dinner Buffet After checking in, I immediately went to the dinner buffet. There weren't a lot of options, but there were more dessert choices compared to other dishes. It was a buffet where I noticed things like, "Oh, the other hotel had that, but this one doesn't," or "Oh, they don't have this here... oh well." One of my colleagues mentioned, "Did you get the shrimp chili?" I replied, "Yes, I already had it." My colleague said, "But shrimp chili is usually much bigger, right?" It seemed like they used small peeled shrimp for the shrimp chili. The most impressive dish for my colleague was the "Squid Rice." My colleague asked, "Did you try the Squid Rice?" I replied, "Huh? Where was it? I didn't know." My colleague pointed it out, and I said, "I'll go get some!" My colleague added, "Bring me some too!" I said, "You're so cheeky (laughs)." I tried the Squid Rice, and it was incredibly delicious! The squid itself was exceptionally tasty, with a slightly surume-like squid flavor. It wasn't watery and had a rich taste. My talkative colleague then said, "Hey, aren't you going to drink beer?" I explained, "Well, the Onuma Beer, a local craft beer, is delicious, but it's expensive." My colleague mentioned, "They have a sale going on, you know." So, I decided to try the Onuma Beer after a long time. "Wow, this is good!" My colleague advised, "You should drink what you want." Breakfast Buffet This time, I decided to have rice for breakfast, for no particular reason. Among the dishes, the "Matsumae-zuke" is so good that it could go well with beer alone, but having beer for breakfast is a bit... I had to pass on that since I had work afterwards (laughs).

Suddenly decided to go on a trip to Hakodate. In this cold winter, I headed further north (lol). I made a reservation a few days ago for this hotel. The price was 5,775 yen per person for one night with breakfast included in a 10-tatami mat Japanese-style room, plus a bathing tax of 150 yen. The hotel, as seen on the website, gives off an old impression, but it is a typical hotel ryokan. There are several types of hot springs in the large communal bath, each with different temperatures, so you might find one that suits your preference. The breakfast offers a variety of Japanese and Western dishes, and it's interesting to see the toppings for bread, porridge, and ochazuke. The side dishes include Hokkaido's Matsumae pickles, kelp, and salted fish roe, which are enjoyable. Personally, the highlight for me was the porridge. I sprinkled Dayako kelp and sesame on top of the porridge... and had seconds!
