About a 10-minute walk from the subway Namboku Line "Horomirai Bridge Station", crossing through Nakajima Park and crossing the street at the tram stop "Ropeway Entrance Station" near "Yakitori Shishimaru", which opened the "Gyokei-dori Store" in July 2021. A few tables, about 8 counter seats, with USB and AC power outlets at some counter locations. The operation is run by two female staff members, with the TV monitor in the store showing judo from the Tokyo Olympics. Sitting in the corner of the counter alone, I started with a "BEER (medium glass) @ 529". I also ordered "Vinegar Motsu @ 333" which had a good balance of vinegar acidity, although the small dish it was served in was a bit disappointing. I ordered "Chicken thigh, tsukune, liver (all salted)" from the menu, which also includes items like chicken sashimi and chicken rice, giving off a strong Kyushu vibe. The chicken is stated to be delivered directly from "Kagoshima, Miyazaki", and there is a wide variety of shochu available as well. The chicken skewers are served one by one on plates in the order they are cooked. I was offered some yuzu pepper, but I hesitated to use it too much as I didn't want to lose the original taste. Starting with the "Chicken thigh @ 179", it was quite large and juicy, tender, flavorful, and well-cooked, although the price may be a bit high. The "Liver @ 179" was described as "melting" on the menu, but it was overcooked and not very appetizing. The "Tsukune @ 199" was thick and round, with a moist and tender texture, well-seasoned and delicious. After slowly finishing my beer as I had plans to drink more, I was offered tea, which was a thoughtful touch. The total bill came to 1,410 yen. Since it's a convenient location, I would like to visit again for a drink if I have the chance. I hope it becomes a beloved local spot like the main store. Thank you for the meal.
