Grilled tongue with butter (1300 yen) - I thought it would be delicious, but it exceeded my expectations! The tongue was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the saltiness of the butter was perfect. Salted harami (800 yen) - The harami was incredibly delicious, tender with a great flavor and texture. It tasted amazing with white rice. Grilled upper harami with salt (1400 yen) - This was so juicy and the fat was sweet. The salt level was perfect and the sesame added a nice touch. Even though it was fatty harami, it wasn't overwhelming. Grilled upper mino with butter (900 yen) - The aroma of the butter was delightful and the taste was fantastic. Chiritori hot pot with assorted vegetables (2800 yen) - The hot pot had a variety of ingredients like green onions, onions, cabbage, bean sprouts, octopus, pork belly, harami, teppanyaki, chicken, and tofu. It wasn't too spicy and tasted sweet, perfect with white rice. Harami (950 yen) and small vegetable platter (200 yen) were added. The meat here is really sweet, especially the harami which was incredibly tender. Soba noodles x2, udon x1 (150 yen each) are a must! I prefer udon, but my family all liked soba. The fried rice at the end was delicious, with a generous amount of seaweed. Dancing octopus (1000 yen) - I tried this for the first time and it was slimy and delicious. It was served with sesame oil or sweet sauce. The octopus was tasty and fun to eat. Wakame soup (350 yen) - A flavorful wakame soup with a thick texture, perfect for pairing with rice. Assorted kimchi (900 yen) and rice x3 (200 yen each) - The kimchi was not too sour and had a slightly sweet taste. The daikon kimchi tasted like dried squid. The rice portion was substantial. We had about 2 drinks each, so the total bill for 4 people was 17,600 yen. The cost performance was amazing! The salt-grilled and butter-grilled meats at the beginning were incredibly delicious. The meat was tender, juicy, and very sweet - a must-try!

Genya in Ikuno Ward, Osaka‼︎ Their main dish is the Chiritori Nabe, but everything on the menu is delicious and offers great value for money. This is a must-visit restaurant when in Osaka ☺️ Especially the small meat dish before the main course is unbelievably delicious and affordable. Highly recommended ⤴︎⤴︎

I've been to this restaurant many times before, but this time was my first visit since I started posting on Tabelog! We started with a toast with beer, followed by shochu and whiskey mixed with soda. We had kimchi, squid salad, and bean sprout namul as appetizers, then moved on to the meat - tongue, pork belly, and beef brisket. After enjoying the meat, we had a hot pot, which I love so much! We topped it with seafood and ordered some delicious white rice. We also added vegetables, konjac, and squid to the pot. Next, we added Chinese noodles and ate them before they got too soft. Finally, we mixed in the rice and made a fried rice-like dish! It was covered in seaweed and turned black, but it was delicious. I like spicy food, so I added some shichimi spice and enjoyed the meal until I was full and satisfied. Thank you for the feast!

I visited here two months ago with the same friend, and came back again this time. I also got recommendations from a friend who is a regular at Genya. I ate too much before the hotpot arrived and ended up really full. There are many things that people who like food will want to eat, even though they are not shown in the photos. All the meat and offal are fresh, so everything tastes delicious. You can also enjoy incredibly tasty grilled meat before the hotpot, so there is no need to go to a regular yakiniku restaurant. If I had to point out a complaint, it would be that my stomach couldn't keep up with the size of the portions here. I will definitely be going back again soon.

First, we had yakiniku, and then we had chiritori nabe. Even though we had a reservation for 9 p.m., the place was packed, showing that it is a restaurant loved by locals. The yakiniku was incredibly delicious, and the chiritori nabe was also good. I ordered oolong tea, and when it ran out, they kindly brought me another pitcher. It's a fair and honest restaurant, and I definitely want to make a reservation again. It seems like it's not easy to make a reservation, so I recommend booking early.

It's hard to get a reservation, but it's worth booking in advance. The salted tongue here is exceptional, although you can only order one serving at a time due to limited availability. I think it's more delicious than the special salted tongue (thick cut) for 4,200 yen at a very famous yakiniku restaurant. The liver is also delicious!

I heard about a famous restaurant known for their chiri-tori nabe (dustpan hot pot), so I went there with high expectations! I made a reservation for a weekday at 7:00 PM. The restaurant was packed with customers, so I believe reservations are a must! For the yakiniku (grilled meat), they brought the meat on a hot plate to our table with an IH stove, and we grilled it ourselves. The staff also gave advice on how to cook the meat perfectly, and we enjoyed it in a short amount of time! The meat was incredibly delicious, tender, and flavorful! We ordered various types of meat, each time they brought a new hot plate with the meat on it to our table. After enjoying the meat, we had the chiri-tori nabe, which was also delicious, but the highlight was definitely the amazing taste of the grilled meat! We finished the meal with Chinese noodles and rice (yakimeshi). The staff also made the yakimeshi for us! The counter seats and small 4-person tables make it ideal to go with a group of around 4 people and enjoy a variety of dishes.

I'm addicted to the deliciousness of cooking meat in a different way than yakiniku, using a iron pot. I could eat meat endlessly, but unfortunately, you can't order additional meat. The chiri-tori hot pot to eat after the meat is also amazing. It's recommended to go on an empty stomach to fully enjoy it.

Genya is the number one ranked restaurant for Osaka-style chili hot pot. It's so popular that even as a regular, it's hard to get a reservation. They generously serve barley tea in large jugs for free. The must-order dish includes beef belly, skirt steak, tripe, and red intestine with vegetables. The dish is hearty due to the abundance of vegetables. The staff cooks the meat at the center of the pot. Once the vegetables are tender, it's ready to eat. The completed chili hot pot with four types of offal and vegetables is delicious, almost like a meat tofu. It's so tasty that it's quickly devoured. The combination of offal and vegetable essence with sweet and savory sauce makes the champon noodles exceptional. It's hard to find a champon noodle dish more delicious than this. The fried rice made with rice, sauce, and plenty of pickled vegetables is incredibly tasty. It's safe to say that people come here for this fried rice after enjoying the chili hot pot. It was my first visit to Genya this year, but the place was too crowded to get in. I used to come here almost monthly in the past. I'll definitely try to eat here more actively if I get the chance in the future.

I have been to many restaurants that serve motsunabe, also known as "chiri-tori nabe," but this place stood out to me as the one that pays the most attention to the quality of the meat. A friend strongly recommended this place in the same genre, so I finally visited and during the meal, I was already thinking that I must come back again. We started with salt-grilled meats like tongue and harami, then moved on to the hot pot. The grilled meats were all delicious, and the hot pot ingredients, which we left up to the chef, included a variety of items from offal to seafood, with a satisfying amount of food. We finished with a delicious fried rice, which was not just plain rice but had a special touch to it. You have to try it to understand. Overall, this restaurant lives up to its reputation as a great place to eat!

I wish I had gone there sooner because the food was surprisingly delicious. They serve both shabu-shabu and yakiniku, and for the yakiniku, it's better to order more since they don't offer refills. After finishing the yakiniku, they serve shabu-shabu. The butter and tongue dish I saw on Instagram (Butatan) was amazing, and the beef belly was too good. It seems hard to make a reservation, but we managed to get a booking for 8 p.m. and I definitely want to go back again. Next time, I want to try even more yakiniku. It's a highly recommended restaurant that I want everyone to try.

Genya is a popular restaurant known for its delicious teppanyaki hot pot. They serve plenty of meat, offal, and vegetables. The hot pot is finished off with udon noodles, followed by rice cooked in the remaining broth, which surprisingly goes down easily. Every dish is delicious. For drinks, I recommend trying the makgeolli. Lately, it's been so popular that making a reservation is a safe bet.

On January 21, 2023, in Osaka, Ikuno Ward, there is a famous restaurant called Genya known for its chiri-tori nabe hot pot. We enjoyed yakiniku on a hot plate first, followed by the chiri-tori nabe. You cannot order seconds of yakiniku once you finish your initial serving. The tongue and butter were delicious, and the magic powder on the meat worked wonders. It was my first time trying chiri-tori nabe, and the vegetables were delicious. The meat and vegetables were excellent. We added extra vegetables and finished with Chinese noodles and rice. The sweetness of the vegetables may have been a bit overpowering, I wished the soup was a bit spicier, but I should have asked if they could provide additional soup. Nevertheless, the meat here was incredibly delicious! We ate to our heart's content for only ¥3,800 per person, which was surprisingly affordable. It was an amazing restaurant experience! Along the main street, there is a parking lot next to the restaurant. The cost performance is excellent and the food is delicious. However, it's hard to get a reservation on weekends. The manager is a bit rough, but the hot pot and iron plate dishes have a strong and flavorful seasoning that goes well with beer.

On a regular night at 8 pm, I visited the restaurant with a reservation. The interior was crowded, but there weren't many customers coming in late that day. We ordered a variety of dishes including kimchi assortment, raw beef with yuzu sauce, salted tongue, salted beef tripe, top harami, butter-grilled beef, and a hot pot set for one person. We also had two servings of chicken and vegetable udon and 2-5 drinks each. The total came to just under 20,000 yen for 4 people. The raw beef was a bit watery, but the kimchi was delicious with its sweet and spicy flavor. The beef tripe had a good texture, and the salted tongue was both chewy and juicy. The butter-grilled beef had a milder taste. The top harami had a lot of tendons. The hot pot was full of ingredients and satisfying, and the udon we had at the end was excellent. We wanted to try the fried rice too, but we didn't have time that day, so we'll have to save it for next time.

I made a reservation for the first time slot and visited the restaurant. We were the only customers, and the employees seemed to be working at a leisurely pace. It took about 20 minutes for our order to come out. The daily special item was still being prepared, so it would take some time to be served. Maybe it's better to come here a little later after they have settled in for the day to fully enjoy the experience. The meat and hot pot dishes had a unique and delicious flavor. The variety of drinks was limited, so those who want to enjoy different types of alcohol might find it a bit lacking.

The Chiritori hot pot with chef's choice had octopus, hormone, and plenty of vegetables with a delicious sweet and salty seasoning that is addictive. For finishing, we had Chinese soba!! Famous dish Tanbutter. Huh? Never heard of it, combining beef tongue with butter? Does it really go well together? Ordered with some tongs as well. Wow, delicious... Both were incredibly tasty. The richness of the butter enhances the crispy texture. The beef tongue was tender and flavorful. The offal was also very fresh and delicious.

You can enjoy both yakiniku and hot pot at this cost-effective restaurant. The portions are generous and all the meats are delicious. The hot pot comes with a variety of meats and ingredients, and it's amazing. The cold noodles are also delicious. The best part is that the oolong tea is free. I will definitely come back again.

Genya, ranked first in the Tabelog Osaka Chiritri Nabe rankings. It was full on a Friday night, but miraculously a seat opened up for a walk-in. I ordered a pitcher of oolong tea. I got a mix of bara, harami, tecchan, akasen, and vegetables. I always order this one pattern. Plenty of vegetables. The sweet and spicy sauce is delicious, but I added a little gochujang to adjust the flavor. The quality of the meat is superb, clearly different from other restaurants in the area. The staff cooked it for me and it looked delicious. Of course, the meat is delicious, but the vegetables soaked in meat essence are also tasty. High-quality meat is the best. It's like meat tofu. The hormone is also excellent. I quickly finished the hot pot. I added champon noodles to the sauce filled with meat and vegetable essence. A noodle dish that outshines any ramen. At this point, I thoroughly enjoyed the sauce. I had the fried rice made with the sauce and added changja. It's no exaggeration to say that I eat chiritri nabe just to eat this. The downside is that it's difficult to make a reservation, but it seems relatively easy to get one later in the evening. Definitely try the next-level chiritri nabe.

There was a day when I wanted to eat delicious yakiniku and horumon. The restaurant I chose tonight was Genya. I walked from Komiji Station and soon entered. Every meal begins with excitement.
