In June 2023, I was in Wakkanai City in Hokkaido. I took a trip alone, like a middle-aged man with a broken kite string. After spending a night in Sapporo, I visited the town where I spent my elementary school days, Urausu, and stayed in Takikawa for a night. Then, I stayed in Nakagawa, where I was born. I had a nostalgic and enjoyable time. Now, I am heading towards Wakkanai, bid farewell by the innkeeper. Along the way, I plan to stop for coffee and think about various things. However, the 90-minute journey to Wakkanai was uneventful! It was just pastures, silos, and such landscapes all the way. When I finally reached Wakkanai, the joy of discovering a Seico Mart was indescribable! I bought souvenirs, ate scallop ramen at the northernmost restaurant, and visited a restaurant on a hill. Still feeling bored, I decided to go to Nosappu Misaki. I looked around and thought, "I see, interesting." Then I went to a local restaurant. While the dishes were all seafood, that's what you get in Hokkaido. I ordered the Nosappu Misaki bowl with a little rice. The food was served warm with a lineup of sea urchin, crab, shrimp, scallop, and squid. The rice was warm and tasty. The food was served promptly, and the restaurant was quite busy by the time I left. I prefer this type of rice over vinegar rice. The seafood was all delicious. Thank you for the meal.
