Namba, Sushi Nakamoto ✨ A popular sushi restaurant located in the back streets of Namba. I had visited once before, but this was my first visit in a while. I visited in May, so this is a delayed post. I ordered: - Assorted sashimi plate (1380 yen) - Live firefly squid (680 yen) - Chef's choice nigiri sushi (5 pieces for 1380 yen) ✨ ● Assorted sashimi plate Included squid, cutlassfish, octopus, barracuda, sweet shrimp, sea bream, and striped jack. The cutlassfish and barracuda were seared, adding a nice smoky flavor. It was a satisfying experience to try cutlassfish sashimi, which is not commonly found in Kansai. ● Live firefly squid A seasonal delicacy. While boiled firefly squid is common, the sashimi version is the most delicious. It's only available for about a month, so if you see it on the menu, I recommend trying it. ● Chef's choice nigiri sushi Included barracuda, saury, mirugai (geoduck clam), blackthroat seaperch, and salmon roe. Ordering this set was more cost-effective than individual pieces. I tried blackthroat seaperch for the first time, and it had a rich flavor which I enjoyed. If you have any preferences or dislikes, you can inform the chef, so I recommend starting with the chef's choice and adding more later. This restaurant is affiliated with Hidetarou, so if you prefer a more casual atmosphere, you can visit Hidetarou, or for a more sophisticated setting, you can choose this place. It's advisable to make a reservation in advance as they may not have available seats for walk-ins. ✨
