The appearance and interior of the restaurant are like a hidden gem. It seems to be renovated from an old Japanese house. There are figures and illustrations all over the place, and even gachapon machines. They have a lot of manga available, so you won't get bored while waiting. On this day, the only option was a mix of wild boar curry and mushroom curry. I was worried that wild boar might have a strong smell, but it was actually delicious meat with a good amount of fat, and the curry itself was very tasty and suited to Japanese taste. The mushroom curry was creamy and different from the wild boar curry, mild and delicious. The pickled vegetables on the side were like pickles, with just the right amount of sourness that went well with the curry. The best part is that this curry, with so much delicious wild boar meat, is only 1200 yen. It's really great value for money!

Curry restaurant Nunkui. Today's curry is the only choice. Zanzibar-style deer pilaf. I'm not sure what pilaf is, but this curry is delicious. I also like deer meat. There was a deer figurine on the table, but I asked it to face the other way during the meal. Deer Pilaf Zanzibar Style 1200 yen.

This was my first visit. The style is to take off your shoes and eat curry on the tatami mat. It's definitely calming to be on tatami mats. The menu for the day was only wild boar curry. There was a lot of wild boar in it, and it was tender and delicious without any gamey taste. The curry had a tangy flavor that seemed to complement the wild boar. The turmeric rice was also seasoned and delicious. I would like to visit this restaurant again.

Nunkui. A curry restaurant in Nanamichi. I thought it was just a typical old house curry, but it turned out to be a surprisingly delicious curry restaurant. "Today we have this, is that okay?" I said, "Yes, please." Apparently, there is only one choice of curry available to eat. When I took a bite of the curry that was served, I made eye contact with my companion. This is delicious... this curry is definitely top-ranking. I hesitated for a moment about the deer meat that was served, but there was no hint of any gamey taste. This restaurant, which has been around for over 10 years, could easily become even more famous, but it seems that the owner does not desire that. Delicious curry with light venison is great! The pickles on top of the venison curry go well with the rice and curry, making it delicious! The venison meat has no gamey taste at all, it was tasty lean meat! The atmosphere of the restaurant was also interesting! I want to go again.

I had a health check-up today and decided to have lunch at Nunkui after that. I arrived at 11:45 and luckily there was a seat available. The lamb curry I ordered was supposed to be very spicy, but it turned out to be just the right level of spiciness. The curry had a variety of fragrant spices and the diced lamb was tender and plentiful. The mango lassi was also generous and a good choice to balance out the slightly salty curry. The restaurant had a quirky decor with soft vinyl dolls and various knick-knacks. I was pleasantly surprised to see Golden Kamuy manga volumes and Koito Shouji mini illustrations in the waiting area where you take off your shoes. It was a nice touch. Curry set for 1000 yen and drink for 200 yen.

First visit. Finally made it after over a year due to not being able to visit on business days. The interior of the shop is calming, like a private house. On this day, they only served venison European-style curry. It arrived in less than 10 minutes. The juicy venison had no gamey taste and went well with the European-style curry, making the rice irresistible. The meat was plentiful. I want to try a different curry next time.

I was turned away due to being sold out and the store closing half a year ago, but today is my revenge!! I went to the Times car park nearby just after it opened at 11 o'clock. The store is located at the end of a row of houses, and it doesn't feel like it has been renovated, just an old house as it is. The unique world view of the owner fills the space. You take off your shoes and sit on the tatami mats, feeling like saying "Excuse me~" The owner welcomes you from the back, with a counter (3 seats) and two low tables. Both were available, so I chose the low table. The menu for the day was: - Spicy shrimp and onion curry for 900 yen - Mutton and black pepper curry for 900 yen Extra large serving + 200 yen, no half and half. I ordered the spicy shrimp and mutton both in extra large portions. The shrimp curry had two types of shrimp, onions, bitter gourd, paprika, carrots, eggplant, and plenty of summer vegetables. It says "spicy", but I feel a sweetness... Maybe it's the flavor of yogurt, butter, or coconut milk? It's like butter chicken curry, so it's easy to eat. The mutton curry had large chunks of mutton generously served, without any mutton smell, very tender. It was slightly spicy, just like the shrimp curry, and also had plenty of vegetables. While I was eating, a customer came in and the place was full. The owner said, "It's not so delicious that you have to wait~", which was funny. It seems like he doesn't care much about promoting the place on social media or being too business-oriented. It was delicious~ Thank you for the meal!

Mutton curry, mango lassi. I used to avoid mutton because of its strong smell, but decided to give it a try this time. The result was amazing. I visited the restaurant before it opened on my day off, but they were still preparing so I killed time nearby and came back after they opened. I just made it in time for the first round. The menu for the day was the only option, a lamb and vegetable curry plate for 1,100 yen. The curry had a sweet and spicy flavor that went well with the chewy lamb and unique vegetables. I only knew Nana Michi for the famous abandoned building from years ago, but this was my first time visiting and it was worth it for the delicious curry with strong attention to detail.

I went to a curry restaurant near Tepocho in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. It's a popular spot. I arrived at 12:30 and it was full, but I was able to get a seat after a short wait. I had two types of curry for 900 yen. The normal serving was full of ingredients and I was quite full. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

On this day, I chose the Okinawan deer and vegetable plate for 1100 yen. It included stir-fried eggplant, spinach, and curry with deer meat. The curry was rich and flavorful, and the deer meat was tender. The color of the curry was unique, and the texture of the eggplant added a nice touch. When leaving, there were 6 people waiting inside and 2 people waiting outside, showing that the restaurant is indeed popular. It's good to know that the food is worth the wait. I ordered the popular Tomato Chicken Curry this time. The quality of the curry was surprisingly high, with a perfect balance of spice, tomato acidity, sweetness, and creaminess, complemented by the savory grilled chicken. The Turmeric Rice also matched perfectly. Although the shop doesn't seem to seek fame, the dilemma of becoming popular due to the delicious curry is evident. Today, I had some business in Sakai City and visited a curry restaurant near Nanba Station. It's Saturday, May 1st, 2021. I arrived at 10:58 and there was a line outside, so I waited nearby as the 7th person in line. The restaurant opened at 11:00 and I just made it in time to be seated. I placed my order at 11:03 and my curry arrived at 11:24. I chose the pork belly and Japanese pepper curry for 900 yen with an extra large portion for 200 yen. You can also choose the level of spiciness, and I went for the maximum level. The curry was delicious with tender pork belly, lots of vegetables, a numbing sensation from the Japanese pepper, and a very spicy kick from the curry. It lived up to its reputation! Many reviews mentioned the spiciness was mild, so I opted for extra spicy, but it turned out quite hot. Maybe I should have gone one level down. The extra large portion had plenty of curry and rice, making it very satisfying. I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you for the meal! #NanbaStation

On Tuesday at 11:43, there was no line outside, but there were several groups waiting inside. The shop seems to be operating in a renovated old folk house. It's quite a high hurdle to come here, as you can't line up before opening, they might sell out in about an hour and a half, and they have a four-day week off. I wanted to come here, so I changed my plans from Friday to Tuesday and came to Sakai. The atmosphere inside is a bit rock, with Red Hot Chili Peppers playing. They seem to be taking measures against COVID-19, as customers are kept at a distance, which may affect the turnover. I was seated in about 7 minutes. A woman is running the shop, which is cool. Today's curry was only one type: Nanjima Haru no Shika Plate for ¥1100, with a large serving for an additional ¥200. It arrived in about 10 minutes! The completion level is high. I went there early to avoid it selling out, but there was already a line forming. After waiting a bit, I finally got to try their curry. The menu for the day included lamb and doubanjiang curry, and chicken, butter, and grilled onion curry. I ordered the lamb curry, which was said to be spicy. The curry was served in a silver container, and the portion was generous. The taste was spicy and flavorful, with the lamb being tender and delicious. There is a famous curry restaurant in Osaka, typically concentrated in business districts like Kitahama and Yotsubashi, but here in Osaka Sakai City... there is a curry shop called "Curryya Nunkui" that is advertised as "curry that you won't forget once you try it" (๑°ㅁ°๑)‼✧. It is located in a renovated traditional house that was built in the Showa 10s. I once tried to visit at 12:30 but they were already sold out and closed, so this time I woke up early to go! It is about a 5-minute walk from Shichido Station on the Nankai Electric Railway. The shop is located at the back of a row of traditional houses. The interior of the shop looks like a retro miscellaneous goods store, filled with the owner's unique touches (*≧艸≦). The owner's quirky personality is evident on their Facebook page, and I always enjoy reading their posts. I was excited to see what kind of curry this owner would make ♡. "Thank you for visiting our remote curry shop again this week." "It's cold this week, and our old traditional house has gaps everywhere, so please don't force yourself to come." These are some of the fun messages they write ( ゚∀゚)・∵ブハッ!!. The shop quickly filled up and a waiting list started, but the owner said, "Sorry, we're full. It's not worth queuing, it's not that delicious ( •̅_•̅ )". Of course, everyone was still lining up (^ω^;);););). The menu seems to change weekly! ◉ Boar and Black Pepper Curry 1100 yen. Boar was in season at that time, which was lucky ♡. I never knew boar could be this delicious! It was tender, flavorful, with just the right amount of fat. It was sweet, with no hint of gamey taste, and cooked very carefully. The black pepper added a spicy kick, making it irresistibly delicious! It was served in a slightly deep aluminum dish, more like Jamaican style than Indian? The vibrant yellow of the turmeric rice was appetizing. The curry also included vegetables like eggplant, broccoli, bell peppers, and romanesco. The chunks of boar meat had a strong presence and were delicious!
