I was recommended to go to Hikoyoshi by a friend, and it was a great recommendation! Every dish was truly delicious. The conversation with the chef was also fantastic. It's a really great restaurant. If you're looking for a traditional Japanese restaurant in Shinsaibashi, this is the place. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The taste of the ingredients was well highlighted and delicious. I was satisfied with the course meal! The restaurant was clean and cozy, and the staff were friendly and engaging, making it a fun experience. Although the location is a bit hard to find, it felt like a hidden gem. I would like to visit again.

Namba's year-end party at Hikari. The entrance to the restaurant is a bit hard to find, located in a narrow alley. The decorations are cute and tastefully done. Tonight's seating comes with knee blankets, maybe it's cold? Starting with beer, we had a luxurious sashimi platter with mackerel, Spanish mackerel, firefly squid, flounder, and more. A variety of sake brands like Kokuryu, Nabeshima, Tamanohikari, and Yume no Manimani were available. We had delicious cutlassfish and conger eel. Sake was flowing, from Juyondai to Higashi One. The meat dishes were also excellent, like Ho-oh Bitamiya. We ended with rice and were completely satisfied. There are private rooms on the second floor, but timing your entrance and exit might reveal your face. Overall, it's a high-quality restaurant with attractive staff and reassuring service. Thank you for the feast.

Washoku Koei on Shinsaibashi-suji is located about 100 meters south of Shinsaibashi Station. It has been selling traditional Japanese clothing and obi (sashes) for a long time. There is an arcade street called Shimbura Street, which you can enter directly from Shinsaibashi-suji. At the entrance of the arcade, there is a tea shop called Ujien. Towards the back on the south side of the arcade, you will find Washoku Koei. It is a place adjacent to Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street where you can enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine without getting wet in the rain. When you enter the restaurant, you will find two private rooms on the second floor and a counter seat that can accommodate up to 10 people at the back of the first floor. Sitting here and deciding on a course meal based on the fresh seafood, meat, etc. of the day, prepared by the chef who has trained at famous Japanese restaurants for many years, is the first pleasure. The appetizers, seasonal sashimi platter, grilled dishes, hot pot dishes, fried dishes, and optional meat dishes are all so delicious that you won't be able to finish them all! It's rare to find a Japanese restaurant serving meat, but the filet steak with sea urchin is a sight to behold and makes your mouth water. The steamed abalone with liver sauce is impressively large, and the crab shabu-shabu, matsutake mushroom dishes, etc. can also be requested. If your budget is around 10,000 yen, it is more than enough. Furthermore, Koei offers a selection of rare premium sake and shochu. Once the situation with COVID-19 improves, this is definitely a place you should visit with your close friends.

I often use this restaurant for entertaining guests. The fish dishes and sake were delicious. I even asked them to make bento boxes for us. This is where I first learned about the deliciousness of sake.

The restaurant, Hikaruyoshi, is known for its delicious fish dishes. I visited with friends during lunchtime, and the restaurant is located in a building off the main street in Shinsaibashi. Reservations are recommended as they do not accept walk-ins. The lunch menu consists of courses ranging from 8000 yen. The food served was consistently delicious and the variety of seafood dishes was impressive. The owner mentioned that they prioritize creating a comfortable work environment for their staff, which I found admirable. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience and I look forward to visiting again for dinner. Eating delicious food truly brings happiness.

I finally got to visit this place I had heard rumors about. I only knew the name, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a surprising location. And there were great restaurants nearby that I wanted to try. It seems like this area suits my taste. I had made a reservation in advance for this place, so I'll look forward to my next visit. Inside the restaurant, we took off our shoes and put on slippers. There was also a second floor, which seemed suitable for small gatherings. We sat at the counter on the first floor. I ordered sake right away, and they had an amazing selection of sake, including some that were quite expensive but worth it for their rarity and taste. It had been a while since I had such delicious sake. We ordered a course menu, and the quantity, quality, and taste were excellent. The dishes were simple in presentation but playful in flavor. There was a dish featuring spring vegetables, as well as roasted beef, and the overall balance of the course was perfect. I was quite full by the end of the meal. They have an impressive selection of sake that is likely to change regularly, so it's best to ask for recommendations each time you visit. I forgot to ask for permission to post photos, so I'll refrain from doing so. I had a chance to chat with the chef, and I definitely want to come back. It was a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

Visited with two regular customers. The restaurant used to be a hidden gem until it received a Michelin star, and now it's quite busy. The restaurant recently moved to a new location next door, which is very beautiful. We had reserved a private room on the second floor. We started with oysters in fuki-no-tou sauce, followed by sashimi (bigfin reef squid, yellowtail amberjack, and barracuda). The taste was impeccable. Then we had grilled cutlassfish, blowfish simmered in broth, and more fuki-no-tou. We switched to sake at this point, and the selection was very diverse with rare options available. We started with Amago no Tsuki Black Moon Junmai Ginjo. Next was a dish of broiled kue fish. We changed the sake to Raifuku Junmai Ginjo and then to Jukusei Kyohei Jyunpei Sake. All the sake and dishes were delicious. Later, we had hairy crab miso salad, and the staff recommended three more sake options. We ordered Yuki no Bijin Junmai Daiginjo, Fuo Junmai Daiginjo, and Matsunotsukasa Junmai Daiginjo. The meal ended with simmered black rockfish and a dish of rice cooked with golden threadfin bream and goby. It's a great restaurant, just as the Michelin rating suggests.

<First visit in April 2015> I was recommended by a regular customer to dine here. The restaurant recently moved from next door, so the freshness of the new establishment is still evident. We used a private room on the second floor. The dishes we had in order were: - Fresh Anago with udo - Abalone - Bonito - Golden eye snapper - Saury with yamaimo yam - Grilled blackthroat seaperch with salt - Boiled thin beans - Boiled bracken fern - Iwagaki oysters from Iki, Shimane - Bamboo shoots from Asahori, Kyoto - Purple sea urchin from Mutsu, Aomori - Tataki of Saga beef ribeye - Steamed aniname - Cherry shrimp fried rice Each dish had its own unique touch and was delicious! The explanations provided were warm and easy to understand. There was a wide variety of sake and a few types of wine available, making it perfect! Will definitely revisit!

I visited this restaurant for the first time and found the shutter closed, but it had actually moved next door. I was told that they relocated in March 2015. The price has changed since the move, now at 3,500 yen (excluding tax). This was my first time, so I can't compare the content to before, but the set meal included sashimi, simmered dishes, and high-quality beef shabu-shabu served in a unique container resembling a masu. Rice is cooked in a clay pot and refills are available. I wished I could have enjoyed some alcohol with the meal, but I couldn't this time due to circumstances. The broth in every dish was delicious, and I was very satisfied. The price is a bit high, so it's not something I can do casually, but it was definitely worth it.

I met up with friends in Osaka on the 25th. We dined at the Michelin-starred restaurant called Uosaisakana-dokoro Koetsu, located near Shinsaibashi Station. However, this restaurant does not allow photos, as we had read on Tabelog. We took a photo of the exterior instead. The restaurant had 11 counter seats, with two men working diligently inside and a woman handling dishwashing and customer service. The dishes were very refined and intricately prepared. We wished there was a menu or some way to remember what we ate, as we wanted to preserve the memory. For lunch, they only offer one bento box for 1,890 yen. The bento box contained two tiers of side dishes, white rice, miso soup, and pickles. The contents included simmered soybeans, butterbur sprouts, bonito sashimi, simmered bitter melon, assorted simmered vegetables, simmered saury, marinated squid, simmered eggplant, boiled egg, pumpkin, winter melon, burdock, and simmered egg and tuna. The rice was cooked in an earthenware pot and was delicious. The pickles were well-fermented and tasty. We could see everything being prepared at the counter, including the deboning of fish and the simmering techniques. All the dishes were cooked in a traditional manner, using simple tools, which we appreciated. The staff, while not overly friendly, were professional and answered questions from other customers. It was a satisfying meal, and considering the quality of the food, we found the price of 1,890 yen to be quite reasonable. We probably won't visit for dinner, but we were curious about how the ingredients being prepared would be served.

First of all... *Please note that photography is prohibited. I had a business meeting in Shinsaibashi on this day, so I did some research on lunch spots the day before! It's always fun looking for a restaurant in the area, right? I actually wanted to go to the stylish grill Tyu, which I had been eyeing in the vicinity, but I happened to come across this restaurant and when I found out it had a Michelin one-star rating, I decided to go here. Armed with a map, I made my way to the restaurant, but the location was quite confusing! I thought it couldn't possibly be on this street, but it turned out it was! I took a picture of the exterior before entering the small restaurant. As it had just opened, I was the first customer there. I took off my shoes and headed to the counter seat in the raised area. The restaurant is very small, with only 11 counter seats, I believe. Surprisingly, when I asked the young owner if I could take photos of the food, it was a no-go! Bummer. Anyway, the lunch here consists of a bento box only. They will bring out the bento without you needing to say anything. ◆Bento price: 1890 yen The bento box is two-tiered, packed full of side dishes, while the rice, red miso soup, and pickles were served separately. [Contents of the side dishes] Tuna sashimi, simmered baby octopus, seasonal vegetables, simmered egg, simmered beef tendons, pickled cabbage, simmered fiddleheads, salmon nanban, simmered sardines, simmered shrimp, dried tofu, clams, tai no ko (sea bream roe), grilled fish (yellowtail?), and more. Also included are red miso soup, pickles, and rice in a clay pot. The side dishes were truly delicious. They were diverse and very enjoyable. The seasoning was elegant and just right in terms of richness. The side dishes were hidden in every nook and cranny of the bento box, and it was exciting to discover them, hehe. The red miso soup and pickles were also top-notch! Furthermore, the rice was delicious! It was carefully cooked in a clay pot, glossy with well-defined grains, plenty of starch, and a natural sweetness. I was delighted that I could have seconds. Although the food was delicious, the inability to take photos was a downside. In terms of comparison, it's similar to the lunch at Maika. On the flip side, if I were to mention a negative aspect, there was no music playing, the employees were silent throughout, and only the sound of the ventilation fan could be heard, which made me feel incredibly lonely as a solo diner. Well, the food was quite delicious, so I was satisfied.

[12/11 - Visit] ※First of all, taking photos in this shop is prohibited!! ☆I feel like eating Japanese food after a long time. The first place that came to mind was... yes, it's "Koetsu"! I have had their lunch bento about 6-7 times in the past, and I have always been satisfied with it! My first visit for dinner was about 6-7 years ago, and I went about 3 times in a short period. Each time, I was satisfied with the food. In the past, they only had omakase courses for 6300 yen, 8400 yen, and 10500 yen... even the 6300 yen course was worth more than the price in terms of taste! I think now they only have courses for 8400 yen and 10500 yen. On this day, I decided to have lunch with a lovely lady from Higashi Osaka, ordering the 1890 yen lunch bento. "Hey, it's been a while!" "Yes, it has! I'm sorry I had to cancel our last Spida lunch." "It's okay!" We took off our boots and entered the restaurant. The seating was only at the counter, but I imagined there might be seats on the second floor too. I started with a draft beer... why does daytime drinking taste so good? Automatically, a two-tiered bento box was served! Yes, the lunch only costs 1890 yen! I remember it used to be 2000 yen. As far as I can remember, I will introduce the dishes. The bottom tier had a simmered vegetable dish that was warm and delicious, followed by a fresh squid with ponzu sauce, and grilled eggplant with a soft-boiled egg. The top tier was filled with various small side dishes arranged in an artistic and random manner! The bonito tataki was tender and flavorful, and the shimeji mushroom dish was well-seasoned and tasty. The oyster, clam, and sardine dishes were all delicious with a good seasoning. The grilled mackerel, salmon nanban, sweet potato, myoga, etc. were all enjoyable. The red miso soup was rich and piping hot, very delicious. The rice was a bit softer than I prefer, but I asked for a refill. While there wasn't anything extremely outstanding, it was enjoyable to have a variety of side dishes. I left satisfied once again. By the way, during lunch, the chef was busy preparing for the evening, and although he seemed serious, he engaged in conversation and kept the customers entertained at night. His evening dishes are made with good ingredients and his sense, making them even more delicious. From my perspective, in the Minami area of Osaka, including sushi restaurants, his fish dishes stand out. I remember that in the past, I would rate his evening dishes and flavors between 4 and 4.5 stars. It's a bit exciting to see a restaurant I personally enjoy later receive a Michelin star. Thank you for the meal!

This restaurant, featured in "Amakara Techou" and "Hanako," received one Michelin star in the 2011 Michelin Guide for Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe as a rising star alongside other restaurants. They offer only one bento box option for lunch and a set course for dinner with no menu. Located near Daimaru Shinsaibashi, the restaurant is tucked away in a quiet alley, creating a serene atmosphere. The first floor has 11 counter seats in an L-shape, while the second floor has private rooms. During a visit for lunch, the reviewer found the response to their reservation inquiry surprisingly nonchalant, but the restaurant was not crowded. The bento box included various delicacies like tuna sashimi, goya salad, spinach salad, simmered fish, and more, all elegantly prepared. The reviewer praised the delicious fried rice made with various types of fish. While some criticize the service as lacking in friendliness, the reviewer believes it may be due to the staff's lack of experience in customer service. Overall, the reviewer found the food to be delicious and worth revisiting the restaurant.

In a small alley just south of Daimaru in Shinsaibashi, there is a cozy little restaurant. It only has counter seats, and I think there may be tatami seating on the second floor at night. It's usually not too crowded, but there are enough customers. There seem to be many regulars. It's interesting to watch the busy preparations behind the counter. It's quite informative. They only serve bento boxes for lunch. You can enjoy top-notch flavors at a reasonable price, even better than train station bento boxes. You can't see it at all from Shinsaibashi, only the noren curtain is the sign. There are no prices listed either. If you didn't know about it, you might hesitate to go in. The restaurant doesn't seem to rely much on lunchtime customers. The menu could be quite useful for when you invite guests to your home. How about giving it a try?
