When you think of Furano, you think of "From the Northern Country". However, as someone who has never watched it, I don't really understand. The street with about 10 shops on each side, known as the "Belly Pleasure District", was used in the movie and has become a popular street for tourists. In April, even on weekends, some shops are temporarily closed, so the business rate is not 100%. So, I decided to walk a little off the main street and look for a shop that locals go to. Oh, okonomiyaki in Hokkaido! I don't get to eat it often, so let's go in♡ When I entered, the owner guided me to a table with a teppanyaki grill where I could relax and take off my shoes. They had okonomiyaki and takoyaki, but they also had "monjayaki", so I decided to try that. And the prices were very cheap (*´艸`). - Cuttlefish monjayaki (with red pickled ginger) for 500 yen! I asked for red pickled ginger to be added to the simple cuttlefish monjayaki, and the owner kindly brought it for me♡ It had plenty of cuttlefish and even corn, all for 500 yen, isn't that a great deal? - Local monjayaki (miso butter) for 690 yen! This was like miso ramen!! It had pork and bean sprouts, and the flavor was a bit rich with a miso base. Perfect for drinking with alcohol! A new taste of monjayaki for me♪ Honestly, I'm used to cooking monjayaki, but the cabbage was quite roughly chopped, so it was hard to cut with the spatula haha. I also had a highball and enjoyed a happy time♪ And I ordered one more thing that caught my eye on the menu. - Negimaki for 480 yen. It was like a fluffy takoyaki, but inside was soy sauce-flavored leeks and chives, along with tender squid. This was my first time tasting this, and it's an original dish made by the lady of the shop. I had it as it is without any toppings. It had a strong flavor, perfect for drinking with alcohol♡ I had a lovely time hearing local stories. Thank you for the delicious meal~.

I visited this restaurant for dinner. I tried "Buta Monja" for the first time, which costs 490 yen. Monja is different from okonomiyaki, and it was fun to eat with a small spatula. The staff made it for me this time, but I'll try making it myself next time. I also had "Mix Okonomiyaki" for 600 yen, which was brought to my table by the staff. I enjoyed making "Takoyaki" at the table, which costs 600 yen for 15 pieces.

When walking straight down the main street in front of Furano Station, I would like to introduce a certain okonomiyaki restaurant. If you visit Furano, this is a must-visit place. The menu is like a festival of B-class gourmet dishes, including okonomiyaki, negiyaki, yakisoba, omusoba, takoyaki, and monjayaki, with a wide variety available. Each table also has a takoyaki grill, so you can enjoy a takoyaki party right in the restaurant. When you come to Sanmiya, be sure to try the monjayaki. In addition to the classic monjayaki, you can also enjoy variations such as kimchi chige monja and ochazuke monja. My friends who went with me also got hooked on this monjayaki restaurant to the point where they visit every time they travel to Furano.

I came to eat monjayaki with my child after a long time. Although there is also a monjayaki restaurant near my house, I like Sanmiya because I can enjoy various flavors at a reasonable price! For takoyaki, we grilled it ourselves at the table, but even I and my child who are not good at cooking were able to do it easily after the store manager taught us the tricks. There were various types of takoyaki, such as with cheese or kimchi. Even when I was full, I couldn't resist ordering something to close the meal, like the takoyaki with green onions? Negimaki and the spicy yakisoba called Pirikara Yakisoba were addictive. It was written on the table that they use a special noodle called tamago-men for their yakisoba here. I used to go to the Takigawa branch! It's a taste that I can never forget. Thank you for the meal.

It is located about a 5-minute walk from JR Furano Station. In addition to "okonomiyaki," they also offer "takoyaki" and "monjayaki," which you can cook yourself at the table. The friendly master kindly taught us how to make "monjayaki" since it was our first time trying it. By the way, this master resembles a certain famous person. Who that is will be a fun surprise when you visit the restaurant.

I didn't have this at a restaurant, but I tried this yakisoba at the Furano Wine Festival. Many famous Furano restaurants were lined up at the festival, offering dishes like cheese fondue with a huge pot of cheese, Genghis Khan (grilled lamb), Furano omurice, pork belly stewed in wine with garlic toast, and more. The festival was so crowded that many places sold out by noon. This particular stall also had a long line of customers. The yakisoba I tried had a unique feature of minced pork and sauce. Normally, thinly sliced pork belly is used, but this one had minced pork mixed in, with extra sauce poured on top of the yakisoba that was already cooked with sauce. The taste wasn't particularly special, but it was enjoyable to eat in that festive atmosphere.

In Furano, I want to have a leisurely meal while chatting! The chosen place is an old-fashioned restaurant with a slightly retro feel. They have sunken kotatsu seating, so it's good for families with small children. I was surprised when I looked at the menu!! The prices are just so cheap. There are many dishes around 600 yen. My friend and I ordered monjayaki and okonomiyaki. The taste was delicious and we couldn't stop eating. Because it was so affordable, we ended up ordering another monjayaki! We were very satisfied.
