Before heading out on a business trip, I decided to grab a bite to eat at New Chitose Airport! Today, I was in the mood for Chinese food, so I visited the "Red Tiger Dumpling House" for the first time. This restaurant is part of a nationwide chain including "Red Tiger Dumpling House," "Tiger Dumpling Hall," "Manporki," and others.
[Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles - Red Mala] 1,078 yen
There are three types of Dan Dan noodles: black, white, and red mala, each with different levels of spiciness. I heard that the red mala is the spiciest, but it wasn't spicy at all. Maybe I have a high tolerance for spice? In general, this Dan Dan noodle lacks the typical "sesame flavor," "nutty flavor," "Sichuan pepper flavor," or "prickly ash flavor" found in traditional Dan Dan noodles. Instead, it had a fragrance reminiscent of incense, which I didn't particularly enjoy. The soup was also a bit bland. At 1,078 yen, it was a bit pricey, so although it wasn't spicy, I can't help but give it a low rating. I'm sorry.
[Half Fried Rice] 495 yen
This dish seems to only be available as part of a set, as it is listed under "set dishes" on the menu. It was served in a small rice bowl, equivalent to about one serving of rice. The taste was average. While the Dan Dan noodles were a disappointment for me, some people might consider them a standout dish.
