I tried the limited menu for June at the familiar "Ramen RPG" shop. With the sudden summer weather this past week, I've been feeling a bit of summer fatigue. I wasn't in the mood for tonkotsu or chicken broth, only craving for chuka soba or tantanmen. Feeling my age setting in~ Arrived at 11:50 PM, about 20% full, but by noon it was almost full! As always, the popularity here is consistent and impressive. Ordered the Tsubame Sanjo back fat chuka soba with tsukune topping. The dish arrived in 7 minutes. It's hard to find delicious Tsubame Sanjo-style ramen in Osaka, but generally, it's a fish-based broth with pork back fat floating on top. However, at Ramen RPG, they've adjusted the overall taste to be more Tsubame Sanjo-style with an animal-based soup and fish oil. Of course, the back fat is floating on top! The soup has a deep, rich flavor with a hint of sweetness, truly reminiscent of Tsubame Sanjo-style. The thick curly noodles provide a satisfying chew. The chashu, made from belly and shoulder loin, is delicious! The thick menma is a favorite of mine! The shredded seaweed is unusual but adds to the seafood flavor. The diced onions provide a nice texture contrast. And the tsukune topping I added was incredibly tasty! I could eat a whole bowl of rice with this tsukune (laughs). I considered adding spices for flavor variation, but found myself finishing the noodles and greedily drinking the soup with a spoon (laughs). As I was leaving, the owner said, "It was light, right?" Well, even though I, suffering from summer fatigue, devoured it, it was not heavy, but definitely substantial! It's not a Tsubame Sanjo specialty shop, so the preparation is different, but the owner's unique twist on Tsubame Sanjo-style is truly impressive. The taste was wonderful. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I ordered the "Rich Chicken and Pork" ramen with seasoned egg and chashu toppings. My companion ordered the "Rich Miso" ramen with the same toppings. We purchased our meal tickets before being seated. The "Rich Chicken and Pork" ramen had a thick, sweet and rich soup with a seafood flavor. It was delicious, but a bit too rich for me (in my 40s). The "Rich Miso" ramen had a lighter, spicy soup with a fluffy meatball inside, which was absolutely delicious! Next time, I'll try the regular "Rich" ramen!

There was no mention of fish powder in the description, so I thought it wasn't included and ordered, but it was heavily included. It was delicious but a big miss from my preference. I really don't want fish powder in chicken white broth. If I go again, I will try the tantanmen.

Ramen RPG. A ramen shop in Senbayashi Omiya. I was planning to try the first-time special, but I couldn't resist and ended up getting the ramen that won the runner-up prize at the Ultimate Ramen Awards Kansai 2022, the "Rich Miso Noodles." I love miso ramen in general, but this one is definitely one of my favorites. The chicken, seafood, pork, and butter all blend together perfectly. I want to share this with my coworkers. I slurped up every last drop of the broth. Rich Miso Noodles 920 yen. Seasoned egg 120 yen.

My family wanted to have miso ramen on the weekend, so I decided to visit RPG, which was selected as the semi-grand prix winner in the Ultimate Ramen 2023 competition. I arrived at 18:40 and there were some customers already there but no waiting time. I ordered the Rich Miso Noodle for 920 yen. The soup was a blend of homemade miso sauce with chicken, pork, and seafood broth. The taste was unique with a balance of sweetness, miso richness, and a hint of spiciness. Around 6:50 pm on Sunday. There were 4 customers in the restaurant, with plenty of available seating. I relied on Google Maps to find the restaurant and ended up in a one-way street maze, wandering through narrow roads. I decided that next time I will approach from the south side. There were two men in the kitchen behind the counter, and both of them provided very polite and pleasant service. The tantanmen (soupless spicy noodles) I ordered was delicious and had a good portion size. While the use of authentic Chinese spices was not evident, it still satisfied my expectations for the flavor and richness of tantanmen. The other menu items also looked very appetizing, so I definitely want to visit again and try something else. It's a bit far from my usual area, but I will definitely come back.

[Visual] The soup had floating back fat and a sprinkle of roasted seaweed, giving it that Tsubame Sanjo vibe, but being from RPG, the soup looked rich and creamy! [Soup] I took a sip of the soup... so delicious! Despite the rich appearance, the base of chicken and pork bone soup combined with seafood broth gives it a surprisingly light taste. The abundance of back fat adds a rich sweetness that really enhances the flavor! This soup is just too good! [Noodles] The noodles were thick and chewy flat noodles. They had a smooth texture and paired perfectly with the soup. [Toppings] The flavorful egg yolk in the vibrant seasoned egg is a must-have topping! The roasted seaweed is also essential for this soup! I enjoyed every bite and finished it all. Thank you for the meal. I used it in the early afternoon. The inside of the restaurant had several table seats and was full of customers even in the afternoon. I ordered the tantanmen and chashu rice bowl from the menu. The ramen had a rich soup that mixed well with the noodles, and I ended up finishing the soup completely.

I visited the restaurant during lunchtime. I arrived around 1:30 pm and was able to enter without waiting. The interior was about 60% full. I was interested in this restaurant in Senri Omiya after reading reviews on the Milevi app. The interior has 6 counter seats, 2-seat tables, and 4-seat tables. There are no partitions between the seats, and the spacing is wide. The chic interior design creates a calming atmosphere. The restaurant has been open for 3 years, so it still looks clean and new. This time, I ordered the "Rich Tan Tan Noodle for 920 yen". It arrived in about 8 minutes. The soup is based on a rich chicken and pork broth, with sesame sauce, spicy oil, and Sichuan pepper oil. Despite its appearance, it was slightly spicy with almost no numbing sensation, which left me feeling a bit unsatisfied. Perhaps the richness of the animal broth is overpowering. The medium-thin straight noodles were cooked to the right firmness, with a satisfying chewy texture. I liked it quite a bit. The toppings included pork belly, meat miso, bamboo shoots, Chinese cabbage, nuts, shredded chili pepper, and green onions. During weekdays for lunch, I visited Senbayashi Shopping Street, one of the three major shopping streets in Osaka. It's about a 2-minute walk from Senri-Omiya Station, but it seems to take a little over 5 minutes from Keihan Senri-Chuo Station. There are two chairs in front of the shop, so you can sit and wait before entering. Purchase a ticket from the machine, then take a seat at the counter. The clean interior is mainly black, with a straight counter that can seat about 6 people, as well as two-person and four-person tables. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. After handing over the ticket, you wait a bit before the ramen is served. The soup is a rich dark brown color, combining chicken and pork bone with seafood and soy sauce. It comes with pepper on top by default. The creamy soup, a blend of rich chicken and pork bone flavors with soy sauce, has a light sweetness and heaviness to it. I entered the restaurant around 6:00 PM. It was raining, but there were already about 3 people inside. I ordered the limited-time only boiled sardine tsukemen. It seems like the limited menu changes depending on the whim of the owner. After about 10 minutes, the noodles were served. The rich sardine broth blended into the soup and had a strong impact. The owner was friendly and easy to talk to.

I found a long line at the ramen shop Tsunomiya in the ramen RPG Senbayashi. "Was there a ramen shop in a place like this?" If my memory serves me right, it used to be a barber shop? I decided to give it a try and waited for about 20 minutes before being seated. I wasn't sure what to order, so I asked the waiter and ended up ordering the chicken-pork-seafood ramen. It was rich but also light with a good umami flavor. I shared some gyoza with my friend, which were just average. It's better to think of this place as mainly a ramen shop. The ramen was indeed delicious, but if I had to wait 20 minutes in line, I'm not sure if I would come back next time... But if there's no line, I would definitely want to come back.

Second visit... I had planned to come back right after my first visit, but couldn't make it for some reason. I decided to try the maze-soba this time, so I didn't hesitate to order it. I arrived around 11:50 and managed to get in before the rush. The maze-soba was delicious just as I had hoped! After finishing my meal and leaving the restaurant, I saw a line forming outside... First visit to a famous ramen shop near Senri Omiya. Despite being a first-time visitor, I ordered the garlic-packed mazesoba that caught my eye. They have a firm texture and a good bite, making them easy to slurp and complementing the soup well. Chashu: The chashu consists of pork belly and shoulder chashu, each slice tender and flavorful from being simmered.
