Ordering the extra-large soy sauce ramen with kimchi, I realized it was my first visit here even though it's so close by... If you pass through Brandoori FUSE at Fuse Station and walk to the right, you should be able to see it. Nearby, there are two other shops, Koyo Ken and Sumiyoshi, both known for their Taiwanesesque style ramen. Upon arriving at 11 o'clock, I was the first customer. Inside the shop, you purchase your meal ticket from a vending machine, and I bought the "extra-large ramen" and "kimchi." The interior has counter seats and two tables, but the seating arrangement makes the tables feel more like an extension of the counter. The spacing between seats is wide, which is considerate for introverts like me, but I still felt a bit uncomfortable being the only one there! The shop manager, however, was very friendly. The background music playing was from FM radio. As I waited anxiously, my order arrived. The ramen had a thick, dark soup that reminded me of the Taiwanesesque style, with thick noodles soaking in it. The soup had a savory flavor more reminiscent of animal broth than seafood (as indicated by the sign saying "pork clear broth"), with a balanced soy sauce taste that was easy to drink. The noodles, as the shop's name suggests, were thick and curly, allowing them to soak up a lot of soup and providing a high-quality, chewy texture that was consistent throughout. The chashu had a rough texture with a sweet fatty taste that paired well with the soup. The menma was extra thick, with a crunchy texture and a rich flavor that could stand alone as a side dish for rice. The kimchi had a perfect balance of spiciness and acidity, making it a versatile accompaniment for both ramen and rice. Overall, it was a well-rounded dish that left me wanting to try their limited-time specials (like the stamina noodles). It's easy to visit because it's close by, so why not give it a try!
