I visited "Ramen Bakko Shi" based on a recommendation from a friend, but had not been there for a long time. Today, it was my second ramen stop of the day. After some confusion and wandering around, I finally found the entrance to the restaurant where a group of about 5 people who seemed to work nearby were waiting. I mistakenly thought they were in line, but it turns out they were just taking turns buying their meal tickets. I felt a bit silly for waiting outside when there was no line. I ordered the special thick ramen and it arrived in about 5 minutes. The soup was rich and creamy without any unpleasant smell, and the thin noodles complemented it perfectly. I found myself quickly finishing both the soup and noodles, enjoying the delicious meal. The remaining ramen shop on my list is "Bokko Shi" in Shinsaibashi, but with the current situation, I am avoiding crowded places as much as possible. I wonder when I will be able to visit there. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing work, I walked near Juso Station. Before heading back to the business hotel, I decided to have dinner. I spotted a ramen shop I had in mind. It seems to be a highly rated ramen shop near Juso Station. The main dish seems to be tonkotsu ramen. I decided to give it a try and walked there. I arrived at the shop around 8:10 pm. There were no customers in the counter seats inside the shop. I first purchased a meal ticket at the ticket machine near the entrance. I was debating between the basic tonkotsu or the special thick ramen, but after looking at the detailed menu at the entrance, I made my decision. I ordered the special thick ramen with half-boiled egg and large white rice. I handed the meal ticket to the staff and sat at an empty counter seat. I prepared my own water and waited for the arrival of my order. It arrived in less than 5 minutes. The special thick ramen soup was delicious. It had a mild and flavorful tonkotsu soup without any unpleasant smell. The aftertaste was relatively refreshing. The noodles were straight and thin, coated well with the soup. The half-boiled egg had a rich flavor with a slightly runny yolk. The pork belly chashu was tender and juicy, and there were green onions and wood ear mushrooms as well. The delicious soup made me finish the white rice quickly. It was the right choice to order a large portion. I ate it up in no time. More customers started to visit while I was eating. I noticed there were counter seats in the back of the shop as well. Later, I found out that the owner had trained at Ippudo. It makes sense now, as the taste was similar to Ippudo. It cost me 1250 yen this time, slightly on the higher side. But being near the station, the price may be understandable. It was delicious. I will come back again.

I went drinking in Kyoto and took the Hankyu Kawaramachi Line to go back. It's best to just go straight home quietly, but Juso Station is a tricky spot. It's a station with too many eateries for a transfer station. There are large shopping streets on both the east and west sides, with various shops lined up. Before I knew it, I had gotten off the train halfway there. The udon shop was already closed, so I ended up at a ramen shop past 10 PM. I decided to try Bakko Shisan on that day. It's a pork bone ramen shop with high ratings. Despite having various menu options, I believe simplicity is best. I chose the basic menu item, Tonkotsu Ramen for 750 yen. It was ready in no time.
Tonkotsu Ramen:
The noodles were surprisingly firm. The perfect firmness of the noodles! The noodles had a good bite to them. It felt like eating slightly undercooked somen noodles. When you bite into the noodles, the texture comes out well with a "popping" sensation. The soup was creamy, not too heavy, and matched well with the noodles. The chashu came in thin and slightly thick slices, with seaweed included, making the basic menu quite satisfying. I finished the meal thinking, "It would be nice to have some pickled mustard greens or red pickled ginger." After finishing, I noticed a sign on the wall saying, "Due to COVID-19 precautions, we are not providing pots. If you would like plum, red pickled ginger, or simmered garlic, please ask the staff." It would be nice if they made this information a bit more prominent. Thank you for the meal.

The small restaurant mainly has counter seats, giving off a cozy ramen shop vibe. They operate on a ticket system, but you pay separately for extra noodle servings in cash. I ordered the standard tonkotsu ramen. The soup had a mild flavor without the typical pork bone smell, which was quite impressive. The soup was rich but not overpowering. It had a slightly strong salty taste, but it paired well with the noodles. I also received garlic tsukudani as a topping, which was delicious and complemented the ramen perfectly. I recommend trying it out.

Super Rich Ramen for 950 yen. It's extremely rich, passionate, and delicious. Those who know they will gain weight just by looking at it will still find it delicious. It might be tastier than late-night McDonald's, Osho, drinking water, and kotatsu ice cream. I'm just addicted to Juso and enjoying my messy daily life. Thank you for the meal!

On July 30, 2023, I visited a restaurant that I had been wanting to try before. I went during off-peak hours. Inside the restaurant with a long counter, there was a ticket vending machine at the entrance. It was mentioned that you could pay for extra noodles (150 yen) in cash at the counter. I ordered the shrimp with red chili oil, with extra noodles. The smell was all shrimp! The intense shrimp flavor was amazing from the first bite. It was like drinking shrimp senbei (rice crackers). Even with the extra noodles, the richness of the soup did not diminish at all. They kindly provided sauce for the extra noodles as well. The soup was so rich that it could even be enjoyed as a rice topping. As I continued eating, I found some crunchy fried shrimp in my mouth. It made me realize that this dish allows you to savor every aspect of the shrimp. It was incredibly delicious. The meat rice had a bit less quantity, so I felt a bit unsatisfied. However, the taste was light and delicious. The interior of the restaurant had a stylish atmosphere with Western music playing. It was conveniently located about a 2-minute walk from the east exit of Hankyu Juso Station. The counter seats were clean, with individually wrapped wet wipes and alcohol disinfectant spray available. I recommend this restaurant to those who enjoy rich and impactful ramen. With a variety of unique menu options, you will want to visit again and again. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch 2nd bowl today. Went to Bakko-shi near Juso station for Ramen Circuit participation. Had the basic tonkotsu ramen with a seasoned egg thanks to Ramen Circuit service. It was delicious having tonkotsu after a long time. #Osaka #Juso #RamenCircuit #Ramen #Bakko-shi

I visited Bakko-shi and ordered the Spicy Ramen and Meat Rice. The soup was rich and flavorful, without any unpleasant smell. The shrimp flavor was strong and delicious. The homemade thin straight noodles were very smooth and easy to eat. The chashu was tender and tasty. Thank you for the meal.

I had tonkotsu ramen. The light taste was good, but it was not satisfying for me at all, so I asked the owner if there was garlic or something. The response was terrible and I had a bad experience. Even if the service was not an issue, the rating for this taste is questionable. A rating of 3.0 to 3.1 would be understandable. I believe that the rating of a food establishment should take into account the service of the staff, so I will base my rating on that.

Located just a short walk from the thirteenth station, I ordered the Special Rich Ramen for 950 yen and added rice for 50 yen. I'm not sure if this is to my taste... The thin noodles in the creamy soup didn't quite suit me. I like thick tonkotsu broth, but the smell didn't agree with me. The rice also seemed a bit too firm, almost like leftovers from yesterday. Adding red pickled ginger and sesame helped to mellow it out a bit.

I had ramen. The thin noodles and sweet tonkotsu broth were delicious. I arrived five minutes before opening on a weekday and got the first seat. But by the time I left, the restaurant was full. There were only counter seats available. The photo was taken after I finished eating. The white tonkotsu broth was creamy and delicious, just as the reviews had said.

【May 25, 2023 11:50 Lunch Visit】Had an early lunch. A ramen shop I've never been to before, despite it being nearby. The interior is long and narrow. Bought a meal ticket from the ticket machine, with three customers ahead of me. The seating area extends quite far back. Received my meal ticket and my ramen arrived in 3 minutes. It looked creamy. Took a sip of the soup - not too rich, but smooth and creamy. The noodles were thin, almost like somen noodles. It felt like eating somen with cream soup (hard to describe the nuance). Not bad at all. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This is a ramen restaurant located a 2-minute walk from Hankyu Juusann Station in a shopping street. Inside the restaurant, there is a long counter at the back and tables further in. You purchase a meal ticket at the ticket machine at the entrance. The "Special Rich" ramen costs 950 yen and comes with toppings of wood ear mushrooms, pork belly chashu, and green onions. The pork belly chashu is fatty and melts in your mouth. The pure white tonkotsu soup is rich but not overpowering, surprisingly light. The thin straight noodles pair well with the tonkotsu soup. The only downside was the unfriendly service from one of the staff members, which affected the overall rating. The owner, on the other hand, provided cheerful and pleasant service. This tonkotsu ramen is rich and flavorful yet not heavy, with a refreshing aftertaste, making it unique. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this famous restaurant in the shopping street in Juso after about 10 years. I was drawn to the name "Tokunou" and ordered it. The restaurant operates on a food ticket system. The noodles were very thin and the soup was delicious, clinging to the noodles. The chashu was not firm, but rather soft and tender. The wood ear mushrooms added a nice touch, and I ended up finishing the soup, which I haven't done in a while. I heard that in 2021, "Gyokko-shi" also opened in Amagasaki, so I am looking forward to trying that as well. They only accept cash.

This time, I went to "Bakko-shi," located about a 1-minute walk from Hankyu Juso Station. I ordered the "Tonkotsu Ramen for 750 yen." The soup is creamy and delicious, filled with the richness and depth of pork bone flavor. The thin straight noodles paired perfectly with the rich soup and were delicious. The chashu had a melt-in-your-mouth texture and a strong meaty flavor. It was nice to see "Thank you for eating" written at the bottom of the plate after finishing the ramen.

This was my first visit in a while. Since there was no line at the tantanmen place, I decided to go to this one across the street. I entered before 10 PM, but there were no other customers in the restaurant. I was worried that the taste might have declined, but it was actually delicious. The tonkotsu ramen was light and tasty. The service was quick, and I find this ramen shop near Juso Station very convenient and useful.

Around 1 pm, I entered the shop without waiting, for the first time in about 10 years. The interior of the shop is long and narrow, with about 6 main seats and 4 additional seats at the back. I purchased the classic tonkotsu ramen for 750 yen from the ticket machine. In no time, the ramen was served to me in the well-seasoned interior of the shop. The soup was milky and delicious, without any unpleasant smell. The noodles had a firm and thin texture, which was both rich and light. The two slices of chashu were also delicious, with an old-fashioned taste. This type of ramen can often have a one-dimensional flavor, but this one was not boring and I enjoyed it. I wished they had included some wood ear mushrooms or pickled ginger... but I found out that I could ask the staff for it due to infection prevention measures. I regret not looking around more carefully at the beginning. The turnover rate was very good, with orders being made silently and efficiently. The staff were not overly friendly, but there was no negative feeling either. If you find yourself in despair due to long lines at other shops, I recommend coming here. Thank you for the meal.

I tried the No. 6 dish, Tsukemen [lunch limited]. I don't eat out much, so at first, the around 1000 yen for lunch felt expensive, but I felt it was worth paying for the course up to the end. It seems that at a children's cafeteria, people in the same industry donated 5000 bowls of ramen. Wonderful!

I visited Bakkoshi for the second time, even though I'm not a big fan of murky soup, I was impressed by the delicious soup here during my last visit. I ordered the Spicy Oil Ramen for 850 yen with an extra noodle refill for 150 yen. It was still delicious, but the impact was not as strong as my first visit. However, the harmony between the sweet murky pork bone-based soup and the red spicy oil was amazing, and the thin straight noodles were perfect for soaking up the soup. I asked for the noodle refill to be cooked firm this time. Next time, I will try adding an egg.

Ramen Bakko-shi in Yodogawa-ku, Osaka City, operated by the owner who trained at Ichiran, opened in December 2007 as the main store of the Kokorozashi Group, which operates four stores. Tonkotsu ramen for 750 yen, half-boiled seasoned egg for 100 yen. The soup is creamy and rich in flavor, with a rounded umami taste enhanced by the richness of the pork bone broth and a smooth texture with a hint of oil. The noodles are thin and slippery, with a firm texture and a hint of crispness, absorbing the flavor of the soup while maintaining a fragrant aroma. The toppings include chashu with a crispy texture and a savory flavor that spreads as you chew, half-boiled seasoned egg with a creamy yolk and a well-balanced taste that complements the soup well, wood ear mushrooms, seaweed, and green onions. I enjoyed a light yet flavorful tonkotsu ramen that becomes easier to eat as it settles, with the homemade noodles naturally blending with the rich soup.

The owner, who trained at "Ramen Bakko-shi" in Osaka and "Ippudo," opened the flagship store of the "Kokoroza-shi Group" in December 2007. The shop specializes in tonkotsu ramen, priced at ¥750, with an additional half-cooked seasoned egg for ¥100. The soup is creamy and rich in flavor, with a rounded umami taste enhanced by the thickness of the broth and a touch of oil, creating a heavy yet not overpowering tonkotsu flavor that is smooth, mellow, and slightly sweet. The noodles are thin and slippery, with a firm bite and a fragrant aroma due to low water content, allowing them to absorb the soup and come together nicely. The toppings include char siu with a crispy texture and a rich flavor that spreads as you chew, a half-cooked seasoned egg with a creamy yolk that complements the soup well, as well as wood ear mushrooms, seaweed, and green onions. Overall, the rich and easy-to-drink soup pairs well with the chewy homemade noodles, creating a light yet flavorful tonkotsu ramen that is satisfying to eat.
