I visited a popular restaurant in the neighborhood for the first time for lunch. I was surprised that the price was only 750 yen including tax, and you could choose from 4 main dishes. I asked the staff for a recommendation, and they suggested the mackerel curry kabayaki, which is not usually on the menu. I actually came planning to just have the hamburger as a side dish, but the amount of food was more than I expected! I decided I need to come back and try more dishes to conquer their lunch menu. You can also get free refills on rice, and the combination of stylish atmosphere and homely cooking might be the secret to their popularity. I definitely want to visit for dinner as well.

Today, I visited the izakaya restaurant "Anagumatei." I had missed it last time because it was closed for lunch on Thursdays. This time, I finally made it. For lunch, I had the "Four Side Dish Plate" for 750 yen. There are four lunch options available, but I chose the one with a variety of side dishes - miso-marinated mackerel, teriyaki bonito, shrimp spring rolls, and rolled omelette. It was simple yet had a deep and satisfying taste. The quality of the ingredients and seasonings was excellent. I enjoyed savoring each bite slowly. It was delicious. The price had gone up slightly since my last visit, but at 750 yen for this quality, it's still a great deal. I will definitely come back again. The path to the restaurant is worth the effort, and I have no regrets.

Unusually, I had a Saturday to myself. I worked hard cleaning the day before and my body was aching all over, so I decided to go for a lunchtime drink in the neighborhood. Afternoon Sake Room set for 1000 yen (5 dishes + one drink under 500 yen) included a Whale Wave Junmai Ginjo unpasteurized draft sake (480 yen) which was not counted in the bill. The dishes included a bowl of hamo and corn soup, mackerel (changed from tuna upon request), three bean croquettes, duck and asparagus with plum butter sauce, and peach tempura which was the biggest surprise of the day. The tempura was made with white peaches and served with salt and sansho pepper. I also added an additional dish of dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette) for 380 yen and a glass of Kurara Junmai unfiltered draft sake (550 yen) from Nara. I compared it with the Whale Wave (Kujiranami) from Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture. Both were to my liking. The total came to 1930 yen. Afternoon Sake Room is a reservation-only event, sometimes held on Saturdays. It is a solo drinking event, so group reservations are not accepted. Contact them via DM on Twitter or by phone for reservations.

I ordered the 5-course 2300 yen chef's choice menu. Each dish that came out was a new and exciting flavor for me. There were many dishes that paired well with sake, so I couldn't help but enjoy some drinks as well. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Lunch at Anagumatei. I usually order takeout by phone, but today I dined in because they had bonito cutlets on the menu. The tartar sauce, which I usually don't like, was surprisingly delicious. The side dishes were also very well-prepared. I am satisfied as always.

Before the state of emergency was declared, we went on a bar hopping adventure starting with a renowned kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) shop. The main destination of the day was a hidden gem drinking spot called Anagumatei in Emisucho. We made a reservation over the phone without any hesitation as soon as they opened. The exterior and interior of the shop may look a bit old-fashioned, but they are very strict about implementing measures to prevent infection. We ordered the following dishes:
- Day drinking set (900 yen) which came with one drink and a surprise selection of five dishes, an amazing deal! The dishes included raw shrimp sashimi, onion gratin croquette, oyster and turnip white miso gratin, duck with gochujang sauce, and homemade bacon & corned beef with oyster butter. Each dish was small but had excellent flavors.
- Lamb kushikatsu (100 yen per skewer) which had the meat's gaminess well balanced with spices, making it easy to eat.
- Spicy potato fries (280 yen) which may seem like an odd combination at first, but the sweet sauce paired well with the fries.
- Fried dashimaki (380 yen) where they made dashimaki (rolled omelette) first before frying it and pouring dashi broth on top.
For drinks, we had Heartland draft beer (480 yen), daidai citrus chu-hai (400 yen), and salted yuzu chu-hai (550 yen). If you're looking for a quick and delicious meal, stopping by for the day drinking set is highly recommended. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I was looking forward to this shop, and it definitely exceeded my expectations! It's absolutely worth it! I want to go again for sure, but right now I feel like I can't go with full energy. Already starting to forget, but the cost performance is great! The atmosphere is great too! It's good for lunch or even drinking in the afternoon. For 900 yen, you get 5 dishes and a drink. It's the best! Check out the photos of what I ate! It feels like a bit of a walk from the station, but I wonder if I can go next time. I definitely want to visit at night next time.

Main activity in the morning (^-^) The manager insisted on going to this restaurant, so we made a quick reservation and arrived. It was lunchtime, so there were other customers as well. We ordered two sets with individual items - spicy potatoes and lamb skewer cutlets. The 5-item set was small in size but the dishes were well-prepared and delicious. The set included shrimp, croquette, gratin, bacon, and duck. The spicy potato fries were flavorful and the lamb skewer cutlets had a unique taste. Overall, we were satisfied with the variety of dishes we tried. Thank you for the meal <(_ _)>

During working from home, I usually eat at home or get takeout from nearby restaurants, but my favorite is the lunch from Anagumatei. I usually go for the hamburger or chicken dishes, but I like to try something new if they have interesting options. This time, I tried the fried oysters, and they were amazing. The crispy oysters soaked in a light broth with a hint of yuzu fragrance were just perfect. The oysters are getting bigger as the season progresses, and they were so satisfying to eat. The side dishes, like the tofu with Chinese cabbage and chicken, and the miso soup with egg, along with freshly cooked rice, were all top-notch. And all of this for only 700 yen is just incredible. On another day, they also had green curry, which was also delicious. In these challenging times, enjoying good food can bring a smile to your face.

Today's lunch menu included simmered hamburger, chicken cutlet, pork and mushroom Indian stir-fry, and fried oysters. I chose the fried oysters, wondering if they had grown bigger. The oysters were fried like tempura and served with plenty of grated daikon radish with a light broth. The lunch at this restaurant costs 700 yen. I also bought a stollen to take home.

I searched on Google for a delicious place nearby, and found one on a road I have been frequenting recently. They were selling bento boxes, and although a couple of items were sold out, they offered me oyster tempura instead. I decided to try the oyster tempura, and even though it took about 15 minutes to prepare, it was worth the wait. The staff was very polite and apologized for the wait. When I opened the box at home, I was surprised by the generous amount of oysters and the side dishes of fried chicken and egg. It was a great deal for only 500 yen. The oysters were delicious, and I will definitely go back to buy more. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch set with 3 side dishes (bonito cutlet, yellowtail sashimi, rolled omelette with broth). Comes with 2 small side dishes. If you change it to a lunchtime drinking set, rice and miso soup disappear and you get 3 small side dishes, making the tray look a bit confusing. The bonito cutlet has a crispy coating and is cooked just right with a hint of pink inside, served with a mild mustard sauce. The yellowtail sashimi is thick and satisfying. The rolled omelette with broth is sweeter than homemade ones, but interesting. It's tasty when eaten with grated daikon and soy sauce. Always a fun menu. Lunch at Daytime Bear, 700 yen. Oh, I asked for a small portion of rice.

When working from home, I visited Anagumatei, a place where I often ordered bento boxes, for a rare lunch out. I chose the half-boiled egg inside the menchi katsu, which is basically a scotch egg. The egg was cooked perfectly with a thick layer of meat. The side dishes were delicious, making the meal very satisfying. My partner opted for the lunch set with a lunchtime drinking set, which included sake. The miso soup was replaced with more side dishes, making the meal even more enjoyable with the addition of alcohol.

Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line Ebisucho Station asked about the neighboring restaurant Todofuku, but it was closed for a temporary holiday. Disappointed, the reviewer decided to leave and headed to a place recommended by a friend in Ebisucho. The lunch menu is available mainly on weekdays, but reservations can be made in advance. The reviewer ordered the daytime drinking set for 900 yen, which includes a drink under 500 yen and 5 original appetizers. The drink was a refreshing ginger chu-hi, and the appetizers included summer vegetables and salmon stew, yellowtail sashimi, duck loin with original miso, corn cream spring roll, and bonito tataki with mushrooms. The reviewer also added a red shiso chu-hi and later enjoyed a glass of Gifu's Ena Brewery's Whale Wave Junmai Ginjo Nigori Nama. The atmosphere was lively with regular customers coming in for lunch, and the kitchen staff, consisting of two women, were busy but managed to serve with a smile. The reviewer plans to return for a more serious drinking session in the evening next time. #Anagumatei #DaytimeDrinkingSet #EbisuchoDrinking #CreativeCuisine #CreativeIzakaya #SakeBarJourney

On this day, the lunch bento box had steamed black sea bream with seaweed. Just hearing that made me go "Seriously!?" When I opened it at home, I was surprised at how big it was!! And the side dish was stir-fried chicken, onions, and coriander? Tuna cooked with ginger? Meatballs and eggplant in sweet vinegar sauce? Seriously, is this really only 500 yen?? I was worried about the high quality. The black sea bream had so much meat on the outside of the bones that it would make Yuuyama Unno shout, "Who was the one who filleted this sea bream?!" It was so thick and the slices were large, and it was so tender and fluffy when steamed, it was blissful. The side dishes were so flavorful that I saved half of the black sea bream for dinner. I'm so glad to have such a deliciously eccentric restaurant nearby.

At night, Anaguma-san also offers a "Sake Snack Bento" option. Normally, they offered takeout snacks in bottles, but a bento box with rice included is a new and interesting concept. The bento included bean rice cooked with clam broth, beef stroganoff in a long paper container, oil-fried wheat gluten and snap peas, Anaguma-san's spicy sauce called "Guma Sauce," chicken and bamboo shoot stew, and water eggplant with sansho pepper sauce. The reviewer found the beef stroganoff to be flavorful with plenty of meat, the oil-fried wheat gluten to be a nice touch, and the Guma Sauce to be delicious. However, they felt that the water eggplant dish lacked saltiness. The reviewer's husband enjoyed the Aqua Pazza bento with homemade bacon and smoked cheese as a side dish. The total cost for the Sake Snack Bento was 1600 yen, which the reviewer found to be a great value.

I have been enjoying Anagumatei's bento lunches for a while now, but during this time I decided to try their takeout dinner as well. I reserved the Sake-ate bento for 1600 yen over the phone. It includes four main dishes, one of which is the surprising Ainame Aqua Pazza. The Ainame fish is delicious and a generous portion, perfect for pairing with sake. The other dishes include a simmered dish with conger eel broth, homemade bacon and cheese, and a stir-fried dish with shallots and homemade spicy sauce. Each dish goes beyond the typical bento side dish. The rice, cooked with razor clams and beans, is also excellent. In addition to the bento, I also ordered water eggplant, a dish of spicy sauce with ingredients, and homemade corned beef. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the unique flavors of Anagumatei's takeout dinner. I also had their lunch bento recently, which included fantastic Fuefukidai tempura.

Under the influence of the coronavirus, many restaurants have started offering takeout services, including Anagumatei, known for its extraordinary dishes. I decided to try their takeout for lunch on a holiday. They offer four main options, and I chose the simmered hamburger and fried chicken with coriander chili sauce. The takeout price is 500 yen, cheaper than dining in at 700 yen. Although the hamburger may seem small, it is thick and made with finely ground meat and a rich sauce, comparable to well-established Western-style restaurants in Minami. The fried chicken, with coriander, green onions, shiso leaves, and sweet chili sauce, is also delicious. The side dishes, including simmered vegetables and potato salad, are also well-prepared. It's almost too good for the price of 500 yen. As I continue working from home, I plan to use their takeout service occasionally for a change in my lunch routine.

This is a lovely hidden gem in Imamiya Ebisu called Anagumatei that you would want to visit even by yourself. The night atmosphere is great, but I've always wanted to try their daytime drinking set. So, I dashed there just in time for a late lunch. The daytime drinking set costs 900 yen and comes with 5 dishes, including a choice of draft beer. The food was amazing, with unique items like croquettes with green filling and smoked sea bream wrapped in cherry blossom leaves. The last order was my favorite, the firefly squid tempura, which was crispy and delicious. The draft beer was also cold and tasty. I will definitely come back again, maybe for lunch next time. It's rare to find a place that you want to visit alone, but this one is definitely worth it. #ImamiyaEbushi #Anagumatei #SavannahinLion 🦁❤️

We were able to enter just in time because the lunch set was a good deal. It was raining, so we were the only customers. The atmosphere was nice, and a friendly couple welcomed us. They also had set meals for lunch, which looked delicious. And the lunch drink set with 5 dishes and a drink was only 900 yen! It was a great deal. The portions were small, but the carefully prepared dishes were all tasty. We also ordered additional firefly squid tempura, which was also good. If this place was closer, I would definitely become a regular customer.
