Osaka is a restaurant near Hankyu Nakatsu Station that specializes in Indian cuisine, with biryani being the main focus. Despite its small size, the restaurant has a striking exterior that catches the eye. According to reviews, it is said to be a branch of "Bonpei," a restaurant located nearby that serves spice curry during the day and doubles as an izakaya at night. I had previously tried the curry at Bonpei and found it delicious, so I decided to give this place a try. The staff members are of Indian descent, and both are able to speak Japanese without any issues. Although they also offer curry, they seem to recommend biryani more, so I decided to try that instead. I ordered the fish and shellfish biryani, which came in a plate rather than as a single serving. The biryani seemed to have a long cooking time, as the staff mentioned when I placed my order. If you're in a hurry, they suggested opting for curry instead. I didn't mind waiting, so I waited for about 20 minutes. The biryani was served in a cast iron pot, with the bottom nicely cooked to a crispy texture from the heat. It had a pleasant and fragrant aroma. I transferred it to a separate plate using a large spoon before eating, as it was too hot to eat directly from the pot. The plate also had lemon to squeeze over the biryani and spicy sauce to add as desired. It was a delicious Indian-style burnt rice with flavors of fish and other ingredients. The taste was excellent from the first bite, but the portion size was quite large. While it's a good value for the amount of food you get, some people may find it difficult to finish. I've tried biryani at 3-4 different restaurants in Kyoto, Tokyo, and Osaka, and each had a different seasoning, making it an interesting experience.

Hoshina Hikaru (Cure Diamond) Birthday Celebration After 2 years and 3 months, I visited Diamond Biryani at 10:30. A couple arrived a few seconds later. It was hot, so we took shelter in the shade across the street. At 10:44, three middle-aged women arrived, so we quickly joined the line behind them. Shortly after, another couple arrived, and just before the opening, it turned into a group of 5. Since there were no seats for 5 at this restaurant, we decided to leave after it opened. The initial group of 3 opted for the outdoor terrace seating. It seemed like they didn't want to waste any tables inside. I ended up sharing a table with someone later. I usually have the shrimp, but this time I tried the lamb from the regular menu. Delicious! It was disappointing that they were out of cilantro and chili. Diamond Biryani Lamb Egg Yolk.

I visited around 12 o'clock on Saturday. It was lunchtime but there were a few empty seats and I didn't have to wait. Biryani seems to be the signature dish, but I opted for the Diamond Chicken Curry for 980 yen considering the portion size. It wasn't very spicy and tasted delicious.

I tried Indian curry (large portion) for the first time instead of the usual biryani. It comes with chicken leg simmered until it's easy to pull apart, in a thin and flavorful sauce with the sweetness of vegetables. It's not spicy, but the spices are well balanced so even those who don't like spicy food may enjoy it. It may look like a lot at first, but since it's served with basmati rice, it's easy to eat. The regular size is 980 yen (+200 yen for a large portion). While biryani is the best here, curry is a nice change once in a while.

I had some errands in Nakatsu on this day, so I decided to have lunch at "DIAMOND BIRYANI," a place I had been wanting to try for a while. I arrived at the restaurant at 13:30, and it was very empty with only one other customer. A few more customers came in later, but it seems like you can avoid waiting if you go during off-peak hours. I ordered the bone-in chicken biryani and lassi. It took about 15 minutes from ordering to serving, but it was the most delicious biryani I've had in Kansai. The biryani, flavored with various spices, was delicious on its own, but mixing it with the various accompaniments made it even tastier. The only spicy element was the green mint sauce, which was also deliciously spicy. The raita was tasty, and the curry sauce had a beef stew-like flavor. Overall, the taste was mild, but it gradually became spicier as I ate, making me sweat a bit. The bone-in chicken was also delicious, moist and full of chicken flavor. It was served in a hot iron pot, so I got to try the burnt rice for the first time, which was a fresh and enjoyable experience. The lassi was rich and slightly sweet, and the portion was generous, giving a good value for money. I liked this type of lassi as well. It was my first time, so I ordered the regular biryani, but next time, I want to try the oyster butter biryani. Thank you for the meal.

- Menu eaten: Oyster Butter Biryani - Location: About a 3-minute walk from Nakatsu Station on the Hankyu Railway - Visited a Biryani specialty restaurant called DIAMOND BIRYANI, which faithfully reproduces the taste of authentic Indian cuisine. Biryani is a rice dish developed during the Mughal Empire era, consisting of complex processes. - The restaurant offers three basic Biryani options: Chicken, Seafood, and Mutton, along with a special menu item. I ordered the special Oyster Butter Biryani this time. - Biryani is served in a small iron pot for each person, accompanied by curry sauce, yogurt sauce, and vegetable side dishes on a plate. - When the lid is opened, the freshly steaming Biryani and the aroma of spices rising from it create an irresistible appetite. - The Biryani itself is so delicious that it can be enjoyed even without the sauces. Adding curry or yogurt changes the flavor dramatically, making it a delightful dish to savor until the end. - I found myself completely hooked and finished the whole pot of Biryani in no time. I might get addicted to this...! Next time, I'll try the classic Biryani as well. Thank you for the meal!

Transfer the individually cooked biryani from the pot to a plate, and enjoy it with soup curry, yogurt, and vegetables. Choose between oysters last time and chicken this time. The staff may struggle with Japanese, but no problem when the manager is around. The restaurant has 4 seats in the front and 8 seats in the back, but during summer, the front seats without air conditioning are unbearable, so effectively 8 seats! A popular restaurant that requires reservations.

I visited a Nepalese restaurant for lunch for the first time. I started with ordering a bottle of beer and then ordered the Fish and Clam Biryani. A huge pot of Biryani was served, followed by a plate with various ingredients. I started by eating just the Biryani, which was delicious with the aroma of spices filling my mouth. Then I mixed in the different ingredients and it was really tasty. Finally, I mixed everything together to enjoy various flavors. The amount of Biryani was impressive, a woman may not be able to finish it alone. By the way, there are pieces of wood and leaves in the rice, but make sure to eat them all as they are all medicinal and good for your health. Everyone, please try visiting this place.

I happened to find this restaurant nearby where I was staying. I checked the reviews and called to confirm if it was okay to dine alone, and they happily agreed. They even took my order over the phone since it would take some time. I ordered oysters and lassi and entered the restaurant. The food was delicious, and it was my first time trying biryani, which was fun to mix up the flavors with yogurt and rice! However, be careful because the portion of rice is huge! I couldn't eat anything else, my stomach was so full. Thank you for the feast!

During a business trip to Osaka, I visited a Biryani restaurant near my hotel. The restaurant was known for having a wide variety of curry dishes, so I decided to try their Mutton Biryani. The first thing that came out was a plate with a variety of side dishes, similar to a curry plate. This was quite rare to see such a variety of side dishes with Biryani. The Biryani itself had a mild yet flavorful taste, with a good amount of spices. They also provided condiments like chutney, peanuts, raita, lemon, and sliced onions for flavor variation. I felt that this restaurant really emphasized the enjoyment of flavor variation with Biryani. If you are looking for a different type of Biryani, apart from the mainstream ones, this restaurant might be worth a try. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

When I have some spare time during my business trips to Osaka, I usually come to Diamond Biryani in Nakanoshu. I've tried biryani in various places, but this is my first choice. The fragrant masala-coated fluffy basmati rice is irresistible. There are also various side dishes, so you won't get tired of it and your spoon will keep moving. After eating for a while, the staff kindly scrapes off the burnt bits stuck to the iron pot. You may have to wait about 15 minutes from ordering, but it's worth it.

The burnt rice is delicious. The aroma of the spices is exquisite. Mixing everything together is so enjoyable. I am full from the piping hot biryani. It's like an Indian-style stone bibimbap with basmati rice. Waiting for the dish while drinking beer is reminiscent of a long-standing eel restaurant. Although there is a difference in aroma between kabayaki and spices. This is truly a top-notch restaurant. This time I had bone-in chicken, but next time I definitely want to try a different menu or toppings. Thank you for the meal.

First visit. I had been wanting to try this place for a while, so I decided to stop by since there was no line outside. Inside, there were four two-seater tables and one outdoor seat. When I asked for recommendations, I was told to try either the mutton or oyster curry, so I ordered the standard mutton curry. I also ordered a medium-sized bottle and some coriander. It took about 15 minutes for the curry to arrive first, followed by the rice. Wow, it's huge (^◇^;) I wondered if I could finish it. My first impression was that the curry was delicious. The seasoning wasn't too strong. I tried it first as it was, and then with the curry on top. It tasted just as I had hoped for. I mixed the cashew nuts, garlic, and something else that came as a side, all into the biryani, poured the curry on top, and enjoyed it heartily. At one point, a staff member came to mix the burnt bits and asked, "How is the taste?" They seemed to ask everyone the same thing at the same time, which felt a bit ritualistic and funny. I enjoyed the curry until the end, changing the taste with a slightly spicy green sauce and coconut milk. The mutton was tender and delicious. In the end, I managed to finish it all. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

The staff is bright, friendly, and polite. You can enjoy freshly cooked Biryani from the pot, with a crispy bottom, making it the best taste. There are several varieties, but all of them are delicious. This is the first time I have been so impressed by the taste of Biryani.

I had high expectations for the Diamond Chicken Curry as the ultimate chicken curry. However, while the chicken was tender, I didn't feel it was worthy of high praise. The rice was a blend of Basmati rice and Japanese rice, which was delicious. The texture of the rice matched well with the curry. However, the curry lacked depth and spiciness, making it easy to eat but lacking impact. I would have liked a bit more flavor. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at Kiji Umeda Sky Building 30 minutes early on May 21, 2023, but was told there was a 1 hour and 30 minute wait, so I gave up on entering. It was 12 o'clock. I entered without waiting. I ordered biryani and a bottle of beer. It arrived 15 minutes later. The biryani was cooked in a clay pot! Inside was chicken biryani! I scooped half onto a plate. Then, a staff member shaved off the burnt parts and put everything on the plate. I mixed everything on the plate and ate it. It was complex but delicious. The crispy burnt parts, nuts, spicy green sauce, sweetness, perfectly cooked basmati rice, and tasty chicken all mixed together deliciously.

This is the first time I've been served biryani in the same iron pot it was cooked in! I ordered mutton biryani and lassi. The plate initially didn't have any rice on it, as the iron pot was filled with plenty of rice, so I served myself onto the plate and mixed it up while eating. Even though it was light, there was a lot of basmati rice in there ( ◠‿◠ ) I felt like my stomach was going to burst (laughs). The mutton was so tender that the meat easily fell off the bone, yet I could still taste the richness and texture, leaving me completely satisfied! Next time, I'd like to try the curry rice, which seems to be just the right amount!

I visited for a leisurely lunch. They cook biryani in a pot for each person after ordering, so it takes about 15 minutes. This time, I chose bone-in chicken biryani. The portion of rice seemed large, so I asked for a smaller portion. First, they brought plates of dal, yogurt, and side dishes. Looks delicious, I'm excited! They open the lid of the pot in front of you. Along with the steam, there is a great aroma. I mix the chicken and rice on my plate and enjoy it. The tender chicken is very tasty. Not too spicy, it's easy to eat. I wish the onions were soaked in water or pickled, it would be even better. I cool down with lassi to refresh myself. Even though I asked for a smaller portion, I still got full. Next time, I'll try the chicken curry. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant for lunch on a holiday. I sat at a table and ordered a "draft beer" and "chicken biryani". My companion ordered the "curry". I decided to go for the large serving of curry as well. It was my first time trying it, but it was delicious too. Next time, I'll order the curry. The chicken biryani was as generous in portion as always, and I enjoyed mixing all the different ingredients together. Both dishes were so filling. I forgot how big the biryani portion was. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

"Diamond Biryani" @ Nakatsu (Umeda) / Osaka I had been eyeing this restaurant and its neighbor, "Bonpei," for a while, but never had the chance to visit, especially with the impact of the coronavirus pushing me further away. This time, my original target, "SOMA," had a long line, so I decided to change course and try "Diamond Biryani." It was a long-awaited debut. As I entered the restaurant and sat down, I was amazed by the menu and the surroundings. "The portions are huge..." The Thali plate was packed with about 8 side dishes like chutney and rasam, along with a large pot of Biryani for one person. It was too much for my tired stomach after a long journey. The staff then pointed to another menu item, saying, "This one might be more suitable for you." The "Diamond Chicken Curry" (980 yen) with coriander topping (+100 yen) was brought to me... It looked like a mountain of chicken curry. "Isn't this a menu photo scam?" The bone-in chicken towered in the center, and when I tried to scoop it with a spoon, it easily came off and melted in my mouth. Alongside, there was sweet and sour cabbage. It reminded me of a certain Indian restaurant in Higashi-Ginza. The bones came off easily, and I couldn't help but exclaim, "Magic," just like at that other place. The gravy was sweet and fruity, with a hint of cinnamon and star anise-like aroma. It seemed to be a blend of tomato and chicken essence. This sensation... was similar to a Pakistani-style boneless chicken curry at a certain curry restaurant in Shiragaku (Yokohama). The rice was a mix of Basmati and Japanese rice, giving it a unique mix of fluffiness and stickiness. This chicken curry is incredibly delicious! I deeply regret why I had been avoiding it until now. I'll definitely come back with an empty stomach next time to try the Biryani. (But to have three popular curry restaurants lined up like this... Nakatsu is amazing.) #tomyam_food_walk_2023 #Kansai_whirlwind_expedition #DIAMOND_BIRYANI #Diamond_Chicken_Curry #Menu_photo_scam_case #Seductive_killer_dish #Osaka_curry #Kansai_curry #Biryani #Chicken_curry #Curry_lovers_unite
