It's my personal day off. After finishing my errands near Kita 24-jo Station at 10:40, I took the subway to Sapporo Station to have lunch. Before reaching Sapporo Station, I decided to get new glasses at the usual store and finished the eye exam at 12:30. I checked out the shops at Stellar Place 6th floor and Apia, but they were all crowded during lunchtime. So, I went back to Hachiken to find a place to eat, but the Gakuentoshi Line was closed for safety inspection, so I had to kill time wandering around. I remembered the campus of Hokkaido University and decided to enter. It felt the same as when I entered from the South Gate for work over 20 years ago. I entered a cafeteria near the South Gate. It's been how many years since I entered this building? Maybe 50 years? I decided to have curry since there was no regular ramen available. I ordered "Curry 308 yen" and decided to try the recommended "Kumamoto Ramen 495 yen". I paid a total of 803 yen at the counter and sat down. The curry was okay, but the Kumamoto Ramen was not to my liking. I couldn't finish it and left feeling unsatisfied. To all the students out there, make sure to eat good food while you're young. Thank you for the meal.

【Taste】Delicious!【Appearance】School lunch【Atmosphere】Cafeteria【Cost performance】Great! Run by the university cooperative, so you can enjoy high-quality ingredients at a very reasonable price. The main dish is very cheap, around 400 yen for a set with simmered buri (yellowtail), barley rice, miso soup, and mustard greens with sesame dressing.

I came here for the first time in about 20 years. When I come here, I always choose either spicy ramen or beef and rice bowl. This time, I went with the beef and rice bowl, which is hard to find outside this area. It was delicious! The warm rice melted the fatty meat, and the slightly salty sauce created a nostalgic flavor. I wonder why beef and rice bowls aren't popular nationwide. Especially here, it's affordable. I'll definitely come back if the timing is right.

(Visit on April 26, 2019) Took a stroll around the Hokkaido University campus and stumbled upon Clark Cafeteria. It might be nice to have ramen at the school cafeteria. The student priority hours have passed, so there aren't too many people around. First, checked the sample menu at the sample counter, and the prices are quite cheap. Understandably so. Followed the line to the counter and ordered the miso ramen for 370 yen. Waited a bit, got the miso ramen on a tray, paid at the counter. Payment is cash only for non-students. Found an empty table, and started eating. It's a typical miso ramen. The bowl is filled with ingredients that seem to be for students' nutrition. Carrots in ramen are not common, right? There are also corns, and considering the price, it's a good deal. The soup has a nice miso flavor with controlled saltiness. The noodles are not the typical egg noodles, more like medium curly noodles. They are cooked to a nice firmness, which I personally like. It might not be enough to fill up young people, but it's a good light meal for a snack. Overall, it was a straightforward taste. Thank you for the meal.

It is located about a 10-minute walk from the west exit of JR Sapporo Station. It is a student cafeteria on the first floor of Clark Hall. Today is April, and it feels a little busier than usual. I picked up a tray and chose various items. As a result, I decided on the "Grilled Mackerel & Croquette Set Meal." The grilled mackerel has a subtle saltiness, so you don't need soy sauce. The flavor of the mackerel is nice. The croquette has a crispy outer coating and is filled with plenty of mashed potatoes. So, I felt that it is better not to add soy sauce to enjoy the flavor of the ingredients. I also had a "simmered egg." The flavor is well infused, and it goes well with rice. The "miso soup" is full of ingredients. The "Grilled Mackerel & Croquette Set Meal" costs 518 yen including tax. I somehow felt that the miso soup was a bit lacking in broth.

It is located about a 10-minute walk from the west exit of JR Sapporo Station. Inside the Clark Memorial Building on the Hokkaido University campus, there is a student cafeteria. I visited for lunch today. I ordered the "Spicy Miso Pork Bowl," which was recommended at the entrance. I chose the small size as it seemed to be quite a lot. In addition, I selected the "Spring Assorted Trio" from the side dish corner. The Spicy Miso Pork Bowl wasn't too spicy, just a slight kick. The rice was soft, and there was a generous amount of pork. Even though I ordered the small size, with the miso soup and side dishes, I left feeling full. "Spicy Miso Pork Bowl (small)" tax included 313 yen, "Miso Soup" tax included 86 yen, "Spring Assorted Trio" tax included 108 yen. If I had chosen the large size bowl, I might have been hit with an afternoon drowsiness.٩( ᐛ )و

It is located about a 10-minute walk from JR Sapporo Station, inside the Clark Memorial Student Center at Hokkaido University. It's a typical student cafeteria with various menu items like rice bowls, noodles, curry, etc. Today, I chose a set meal with a main dish of "Stir-fried Pork and Kimchi" for 259 yen including tax. The spiciness of the kimchi really whetted my appetite, and the portion of pork was satisfying. For the soup, I had "Miso Soup" for 86 yen including tax, which was filled with pork, carrots, and potatoes. I also chose "Natto" for 64 yen including tax and "Small Rice" for 64 yen including tax. The "Pork and Kimchi Set Meal" has 560kcal and costs 473 yen including tax. The food at the university cafeteria has become very delicious nowadays.٩( ᐛ )و

I tried the beef and rice bowl because it looked delicious in the reviews. The presentation may not be the best, but mixing the frozen beef with the rice was really tasty! It was a bit on the expensive side at 590 yen for a medium size, compared to other options in the school cafeteria.

It was delicious. Following Hachinohe, it was also one coin.

Lunch visit. Visited alone. Some thoughts:
- Located inside Hokkaido University.
- Ordered chicken cheese cutlet, nikujaga (meat and potato stew), miso soup, and rice.
- Very crowded during lunchtime with many students.
- Many tourists seemed to be using the restaurant.
- Fast turnover and reasonably priced.
- Wide variety of dishes, all of them delicious.

The ramen salad (600 yen) available only at the open campus event. It is slightly more expensive than usual, but it was delicious with the sesame dressing.

Co-op cafeteria. Cheap. Delicious. That's it. They also have a salad bar, which is very convenient.

Today, I visited Hokkaido University for the first time in my life. Wow, it's really spacious! It seems like there is a need for various people, including runners, cyclists, and elderly people walking their dogs, as the general public is free to enter. Hokkaido University has many cafeterias, cafes, and Seicomart convenience stores. But since I came all this way, I wanted to try the university cafeteria this time! With the help of a Hokkaido University student, I went to Clark Cafeteria. Looking at the menu, everything is so affordable! I decided to order Tofu and Wakame Miso Soup (¥32) and a Small Beef Toro Bowl (¥370). Payment is made after receiving the order. Let's dig in! The Tofu and Wakame Miso Soup costs ¥32, and it contains tofu and wakame seaweed, although the portion is a bit small. The Beef Toro Bowl is now made with ham instead of raw beef, as indicated by a notice. The meat is finer than usual, and the sauce is particularly good. I chose the small size, so the amount of ingredients was a bit disappointing. However, despite being on the pricier side for the Beef Toro Bowl, other menu items seem to offer good value, especially for university students who want to eat a lot for a low price. It was a great experience being able to enter Hokkaido University. Thank you for the meal!

Let's make some memories with dad! Dad said, "Hmm, something different might be good." So, we decided to visit a cafeteria located on the campus of Hokkaido University. Dad ate a lot! He had the "Pork Yakiniku Don" and "Shoyu Ramen." Mom had "Hiyashita Nuki." I had "Kake Soba" and my favorite "Spring Rolls." Dad shared some meat and menma with me, and I snuck some spinach. It was a fun time!

On this rare occasion, I had to work outside the office. Normally, I do desk work, so it was refreshing to be out during work hours. After finishing my outside work in the morning, my colleague and I decided to have lunch before heading back to the office. We had lunch at Clark Cafeteria at Hokkaido University. I ordered the Hayashi Beef Omelette Rice (large) which was notably cheap at 550 yen for a large size! The portion was satisfying enough for a cafeteria meal. As for the taste, it was like a standard cafeteria meal, nothing exceptional. The omelette rice had scrambled eggs on top instead of a rolled omelette, probably to serve a large number of customers quickly. Nevertheless, it wasn't bad at all – in fact, it's hard to find bad Hayashi Rice. Considering the price, I was quite satisfied.

I had work nearby, so I went to the Hokkaido University Co-op cafeteria. It was past 1 o'clock, so there weren't many students. It's nostalgic, just like that... The building hasn't changed. When you order, you pay at the register. Students use their meal card student ID to pay, but non-students can also pay with cash. The menu is pretty standard: beef and rice bowl (580 yen), spinach (64 yen), miso soup (86 yen). It's the usual menu. The price of the beef and rice bowl used to be around 400 yen in the past, but that's understandable. Due to the ban on raw beef consumption, the freezing process for beef toro had to be changed, causing the price to increase significantly. The taste of the beef toro itself has also changed slightly, but the Co-op's beef toro sauce is still good in my opinion. In the past, they used to have a small size of miso soup, but now they only have one size which is similar to the old small size. That's about the only change. Meal card (doesn't matter for non-students), nostalgia...

The dining hall at Hokkaido University is quite spacious with several food stalls, but this one is the southernmost near Sapporo Station. The Clark Dining Hall store in the Clark Memorial Building is located on the left side at the back after entering from the first floor entrance. Although it is primarily for union members, it is also used by the general public. However, it may be best to avoid busy lunch hours to not inconvenience students or school staff. Well, in reality, it's hard to tell who is a school staff member and who is a regular person unless they are elderly. Noodles are on the left side, while set meals are on the right side. You pick up a tray and order your meal at the counter before receiving it on the spot and then paying at the register. So, you decide on your order by looking at the items in the showcase at the entrance. You may find yourself wanting some of the small side dishes in the refrigerator for a few tens of yen along the way. They are all quite authentic and delicious. Ramen starts from the 300 yen range. There are many types, all around 500 yen, so it's quite a good deal for a satisfying meal. Of course, it's self-service, but there is also water and tea available. You might not be able to go back to regular dining halls after this.☆Clark Dining HallAddress: North 8 West 7, Kita-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido, inside Hokkaido University Clark Memorial BuildingPhone: 011-726-4012Business Hours: [Weekdays 11:00-19:00] [Saturday 11:00-14:00]
