New Year's Eve in 2022 (*´ω`)☆ While passing by Peko-chan in the neighborhood, I couldn't help but feel grateful that they were open despite the year-end and New Year holidays. I indulged in a simple "Strawberry Shortcake" that had the same nostalgic taste, priced at 530 yen, and also bought a Peko-chan's cheek for 121 yen, which was softer than a red bean's skin. In addition to that, I also purchased 31 cup ice creams and nostalgic red thousand-year-old candy. Inside the store, there was a mysterious sale of cactus potted plants for 300 yen. In my memories, Peko-chan used to be chubby and short, but now she has long limbs and looks completely different, which feels a bit awkward. Thank you for the delicious meal (^ω^)

I passed by nearby so I decided to stop by. Peko-chan's cheeks were fluffy and nostalgic, the cream was sweet and delicious. The taste hasn't changed, it's the same as always. I love Fujiya cakes, I love the whipped cream and sponge cake. We often celebrated children's birthdays and Christmas with a strawberry-filled whole cake. I hope Fujiya will continue to thrive! Thank you for the meal.

I had a strong urge to eat cake, so I bought a Milky Chiffon Cake from Fujiya (800 yen). It looks like it could be used for a birthday with candles. I am very satisfied with this. I would recommend it to people who don't like cake. The sponge is fluffy and there is plenty of milky cream in the middle. It has a good amount of volume, enough to satisfy 2-3 people!

Every time, our mailbox is filled with countless unwanted flyers, but this time I found something good. Some of the ice cream and sweets at the nearby Fujiya store are half price. This summer has been quite hot, so I bought two of each for myself. The Peko-chan cheeks ice cream is exactly as the name suggests, frozen cheeks (laughs). Well, it's a comforting taste, so it's good. The cream puff is also frozen, but it has more of an ice cream feel. My wife chose the milk souffle with ice cream and the Peko-chan cheeks. She said, "Hmm, the milk souffle is not that great, but the Peko-chan cheeks taste delicious when frozen." Well, it's nice to have something like this once in a while, especially since it's close by.

【Take-out】Famous for Milky, Peko-chan, and Nectar, the company is not Peko-chan, but Fujiya. The company was established in the 13th year of Showa, but it was founded in November of the 43rd year of Meiji! French Caramels and Heart Chocolates were the flagship products. The store in Atsubetsu Nishi is the only store in Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo City, located about 400m from the intersection of Kitajou Kitago-dori along Yamamoto-dori towards Ebetsu, about a 10-minute walk from JR Atsubetsu Station. On a scorching hot day in the middle of the day in August 2015, I revisited the store. After obtaining shiitake mushrooms at Itake Farm, I was on my way to Marushu Livestock to make a tsukune with plenty of shiitake mushrooms. Suddenly, I felt like buying an offering for the Buddhist altar. The famous dorayaki confectionery shop was inexplicably closed. At that moment, I remembered my grandmother's favorite Fujiya Nectar. So, I thought I should go to Fujiya (laughs). And, by chance or fate, all the ice creams were half price. The inside of the strawberry cream puff ice cream tastes somewhat milky. The strawberry flavor is decent, with a perfect sweetness. By the way, last year or the year before, I was eating cream puff ice cream in the same place, in the same parking lot, when a girl who lives nearby greeted me with "hello" just like before. Huh? Deja vu? Coincidence? The matcha castella manju and dorayaki are still being offered, so I will review them another time. While eating ice cream, I was greeted by an elementary school girl. Atsubetsu is such a polite and peaceful town.

▼Impressions▼ (July 2015)
Fujiya is the largest chain of confectionery stores specializing in cakes and Western sweets. After a scandal involving expired raw materials in 2007, they were restructured under Yamazaki Baking Company. This shop, located in Atsubetsu Nishi, is an FC store on the roadside. This time, I tried the three items mentioned above. Gold and Silver was a cream puff that was quite delicious, with each cream named after its color. Peko-chan's Cheeks is a snack that I have enjoyed many times before, and it offers consistent deliciousness at a reasonable price. Fujiya offers a variety of cakes, baked goods, ice cream, and more, so I look forward to visiting again to try more of their offerings.

Fujiya is a chain store of Western confectionery shops located nationwide. The Fujiya Atsubetsu store is located along Kita 13-jo Kitago-dori. I use it when buying birthday cakes or giving sweets as souvenirs. The shortcake from Fujiya is particularly delicious. The whipped cream is very creamy and has a slightly condensed milk-like flavor, making it sweet and delicious. The sponge cake is fluffy with a sweet taste, and the balance with the sweet and sour strawberries on top is exquisite and delicious. I think Fujiya's shortcake is especially popular with children. In addition to cakes, the Peko-chan's cheeks confectionery is delicious. Inside the plump sponge cake with Peko-chan's face, there is creamy custard cream that is sweet and delicious. It is a recommended Western confectionery shop.

This is a shop located along Kitago North 13th Street. It is located across from Atsubetsu Nishi 2nd Street Post Office. There is a parking lot in front of the shop. The cute Peko-chan in front of the shop always makes me smile. The milky flavored cream puffs and roll cakes are delicious. They also have a great selection of regular cakes, and I personally love the cheesecake. Everyone has memories of Fujiya and loves it, right? My family and I love it too, so this shop is handy when we're in the mood for something sweet.

I don't have a clear memory, but I have known about Fujiya for over 15 years, or even longer. It is located in a residential area, along a major bus route, making it easily accessible by car or on foot. The parking space is spacious, making it convenient for those driving. It is a great place to stop by for a quick purchase of cakes as a gift. They sell cakes and cookies, with cakes being made in-store. Even if they run out, they may make more fresh ones. In an area where there are hardly any pastry shops, it has become a valuable cake shop. As for the taste of the cakes... being Fujiya, they are consistent with what is sold nationwide. I occasionally buy and eat them, but compared to the past... I feel that the prices have gone up. While they are cheaper than specialty cake shops, Fujiya's cakes should be a bit more affordable since it is a place where you would want to buy a lot without hesitation. As someone with a discerning palate, I may find Fujiya's cakes a bit lacking and give a slightly critical evaluation. The kitchen is visible through glass, which is a bit fun to watch. The staff has a friendly atmosphere, typical of a residential area. Overall, I think the atmosphere is nice.
