Kaiseki dining at Yutaka. The restaurant has a traditional Japanese atmosphere amidst office buildings. Upon entering, we were guided to a table in the back. The presentation of the dishes made it almost too beautiful to eat, but they were designed to be enjoyed in one bite while having a conversation. The clear soup was fragrant and delicious. It had been a while since I had such a well-prepared soup dish. The sashimi was topped with sea urchin, which was a delightful surprise. The grilled eel had a nice change in flavor compared to the sashimi, and it was well-seasoned. The simmered dish was meticulously arranged and had a balanced flavor, not too strong or spicy, just right. It felt like good quality ingredients were used, and each dish had a taste that reminded me of spring. The tempura was not mind-blowing, but still enjoyable. A refreshing palate cleanser was served before the choice of green tea soba or ochazuke. I opted for the salmon ochazuke, which was delicious. February is coming to an end soon. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The main dish of the day was "eel" ϵ( 'Θ' )϶ I visited the Japanese restaurant "Yutasu" located about an 8-minute walk from Minamimori-machi Station. Established in 1971, it is a long-standing traditional restaurant that has been operating for over 50 years. I made a reservation in advance. Not only does the restaurant have a traditional atmosphere, but the fact that they offer private rooms for solo diners was very appealing ✧‧˚ When I arrived, the delicious smell of grilled eel wafted all the way to the outside of the restaurant~( *¯ ꒳¯*)クンクン♪ All rooms are private, so I couldn't tell how crowded it was, but as the Day of the Ox was approaching, there seemed to be a constant stream of customers. Due to its location near the courthouse, there also seemed to be many regular customers. ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈⿴Unagi Juu (Regular) 3520 yen (with liver, pickles, and fruit) The eel is prepared in the Kanto-style steamed and grilled method. The eel on this day was said to be from Kagoshima Prefecture. When I tried it, the plump flesh and fragrant aroma filled my nose♬ Delicious♡ Ah, happiness( ˇ͈ᵕˇ͈ )♡♡♡ The sauce was subtly sweet, with a slightly mature taste. The orange (Navel?) served at the end was sweet and very delicious, refreshing my palate. The staff were very kind, and most of all, I was very satisfied being able to enjoy my meal in a private room with the soothing sound of the koto playing, without having to worry about others around me♡ It seems like a great place for dining with older generations or for celebrations. I hope to visit again on another occasion♪ ✎MEMO ・One eel for the regular size, one and a half eels for the large size. ・Seasonal dishes such as conger eel, softshell turtle, blowfish, and alfonsino are also available. Matsutake mushrooms are also available during this season ⸜(ˊᗜˋ)⸝

I was taken to a course limited to one group per day. The sashimi of the rockfish was amazing as it was my first time trying it. A big sea bream was served, perhaps because it was my birthday! The tea soba noodles with wasabi at the end were delicious! Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I often visit this place. The young proprietress is lovely and always creates a pleasant atmosphere. This time, I tried the 15,000 yen pine course. It started with a small dish, followed by a simmered dish, sashimi, grilled dish, and appetizers. In the middle of the meal, the young proprietress skillfully served the dancing whitefish, saying, "With the spring sumo tournament approaching." It truly feels like the season. I also enjoyed plenty of "Takasago" sake and left satisfied. I will definitely visit again.

I came across a signboard and visited the restaurant without a reservation. They have a variety of eel dishes on the menu. The sashimi set meal costs 2300 yen and includes thinly sliced beef and pork belly in a richly flavored stew. The Matsukadou bento box (pine) costs 2000 yen and includes vinegar dishes with jellyfish, crab, and conger eel, as well as fried shrimp and squid, simmered dishes, grilled dishes, sashimi, fruit, and a well-balanced menu. The rice portion is about two bowls worth, and the lunch was enjoyed in a spacious private room, which was very nice.

I wanted to eat delicious eel, so I went to "Wakou Yutaka" for the first time! It's a beautiful hidden gem of a restaurant within walking distance from Yodoyabashi. The restaurant has private rooms and thorough measures in place for infection prevention. I had the grilled eel rice bowl, and the eel was tender and incredibly delicious. The soup had eel liver in it, which was also delicious! The side dish was daikon radish and cucumber. I enjoyed the happiness of eating delicious eel slowly in a beautiful restaurant with private rooms. It was so much fun! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I had lunch at a long-established Japanese restaurant in Nishi-Temma that I had been curious about for a while. The Osaka-style grilled eel was fragrant and refreshing, just the way I like it. The light sauce and lingering aftertaste were perfect. Even after finishing the meal, I could still enjoy the flavor for a while. And to top it off, it came with eel rolls and pickles for only 4000 yen! Such a great deal! *I forgot the exact prices and names of the dishes, so I always ask the staff for recommendations when I visit. I'm completely satisfied with the food, taste, and price, and I've already visited three times this season (laughs).

This season, I made a reservation for a fugu course meal and visited the restaurant. I started with appetizers and white wine. I like the slight bitterness of the rape blossoms. The grilled fugu is flavorful and goes well with alcohol. The tessa (thinly sliced raw fugu) is slightly aged and has a sweet taste. The "dancing eating" of Shirauo (icefish) from Karatsu, Kyushu, arrived by air freight, is a spring tradition. It may seem cruel, but dipping it in ponzu sauce makes it lively. I couldn't help but swallow it quickly. The fugu skin with ponzu sauce is thick and has a good texture. I asked for some chilled sake. The fried fugu is delicious and crispy. The salt-grilled fugu is so good that I couldn't help but bite into it. Fugu sushi is a delight at this point. The tetchiri (hot pot) is served, and they take care of everything for you. The best part is the "skin," which is soft and full of collagen. The lips stick together. The shirako (milt) is creamy. The meal ends with a delicious zosui (rice porridge) with plenty of umami. I was full and satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I visited this restaurant for a birthday celebration in January during the pandemic. The landlady and staff were very polite and provided excellent service. We had reserved the blowfish course, and every dish was delicious. We were also served blowfish sushi as a service, which was very satisfying. The fact that all rooms are private allowed us to enjoy our meal quietly in a private space.

For dessert, they served complimentary manju and oranges, along with Demon Slayer snacks. It made me feel warm and happy. Above all, the taste was very satisfying. Why does eating eel make me so happy? The speed of service, the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the cozy atmosphere were all perfect!

I made a reservation online and walked 1.5km west from my home to visit "Kappo Yutaka," a Japanese restaurant established in 1971, located in Nishi-Tenma. While the restaurant is known for its high-end kaiseki and nabe courses in the evening, they also offer eel-based dishes and affordable set meals for lunch in private rooms. Due to the impact of the pandemic, I hadn't been to an eel restaurant at all this year, except for having a bento box with eel from a famous Nagoya restaurant called "Ichibiki" in June and delicious Nara pickles in August. So, I only made a "unagi-don" by reheating a small eel bought from a supermarket. I went with a friend to "Kappo Yutaka" to boost our spirits after a long time. We sat at a tatami mat table in a private room and ordered the "Unaju" set for 4180 yen, which came with liver sashimi, pickles, and fruit. The meal arrived in just 7 minutes, and we sprinkled plenty of powdered sansho pepper on top before digging in. The luxurious lacquered tiered box contained two pieces of eel, with another piece hidden under the rice. The eel, grilled in the Kansai style, was tender and melted in the mouth. Although the sauce was a bit too salty for my taste, it paired well with beer (which my friend couldn't drink due to personal reasons). We quickly finished the meal, enjoying the liver sashimi and pickles as well. The dessert orange provided a refreshing finish. On the way back home, we passed by a famous soba restaurant called "Naniwa Okina" and saw their autumn limited edition "mushroom soba" and "ayu fish with roe soba." Despite being full from the eel, I was tempted to try the soba dishes but hesitated due to the price of 1700 yen. Instead, I stopped by "Mister Donut" and a coffee stand for a treat on the way home.

In October 2020, I went to "Wakigawa" in Nishi-Temma for lunch. I made a reservation through the Tabelog website. I don't usually find myself in this area during weekdays, but there are many interesting restaurants for lunch around here. I made a reservation for 12 o'clock and was seated in a private room. This time, I reserved the eel rice set (premium) for 4180 yen including tax. I used my GO TO Eat points accumulated on Tabelog. After a short wait, the eel rice set arrived (with liver sashimi, pickles, and dessert). Let's dig in! It's been a while since I had eel rice, and it's still so good! The sauce is less sweet (slightly spicy) compared to other eel rice dishes I've had, which I personally like. There were two layers of eel on top and more at the bottom, so I could enjoy plenty of eel. The orange after the eel rice was a refreshing touch that I haven't experienced much before, but it was nice to cleanse the palate. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal!

It's lunchtime and I visited this place on this day. I had made a reservation in advance, and the menu showed that the una-ju (eel over rice) was priced at ¥4800. It's open and looks great. The una-ju was delicious and had a nice texture. It was a great meal. Eel is perfect for the day of the Ox. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Today, my top two choices for lunch were closed, leaving me at a loss. However, I stumbled upon this quaint traditional Japanese restaurant and decided to give it a try. I was seated in a private room for two, with no other customers in sight. The restaurant had a dignified atmosphere, having been established for 47 years. The lunch menu seemed to focus on eel dishes, with prices starting at 1300 yen, which I found to be reasonable. I ordered the 1600 yen tempura set, which arrived in about 10 minutes. The batter was a yellow color, reminiscent of the rare "kin tempura." When I requested salt, I was given matcha salt, a nice touch. The tempura included shrimp, green beans, shishito pepper, onion, shiitake mushroom, sweet potato, and burdock root, all of which were quite sizable. The batter had a satisfying crispiness, and the shrimp seemed to be of good quality for a lunch set. The side dishes showcased the restaurant's expertise. The clear soup was flavorful, showcasing the restaurant's culinary skills. I left the restaurant around 1:30 pm, feeling like I may have discovered a hidden gem for lunch.

Since having a child, I have to choose restaurants that are child-friendly, so when I saw that this place was listed as welcoming to families with children on Tabelog, I immediately made a reservation. It was a Saturday, so it was okay to book on the same day. Initially, we were seated at a table in a tatami room, but the chairs were quite high and my little one tends to move around a lot, so I asked if it would be possible to move to a sunken kotatsu room, and they happily accommodated our request. The female staff provided excellent service and made us feel very welcome! The food was also great, with quick service which is perfect for families with children. They even offered to bring white rice for our child without us having to ask. And despite the short notice, they even made udon for our child. Such a pleasant customer service experience... Thank you so much!! The dishes were all delicious, from the appetizers to the sashimi and steamed clams, everything was to our liking. Our little one was also thrilled and ate to his heart's content. The eel and crab were especially delicious, and we were truly impressed as it's rare to find something this tasty. The portion sizes were generous and we left feeling very satisfied! We will definitely be coming back. This is a child-friendly restaurant that is easy to visit.

Oh my, this shop has also been deleted. For a long time, it was my favorite place for grilled eel over rice. It was a Kanto-style steamed grilled eel over rice. The premium version had the eel appearing from underneath the rice. Looking at the photos, I can't help but remember how delicious the grilled eel over rice was. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant for lunch once before, and this time I visited for dinner. I ordered the recommended matsutake mushroom course, and everything was delicious. The staff were very friendly, and I had a great time. I would like to try a different course next time. It was nice that I could take home the leftover matsutake rice as onigiri. Thank you very much.
