Head to "Edobori Waji-an" in Nishi Ward, Osaka City. It is located about 300m west of the nearest subway station, Higobashi Station on the Yotsubashi Line. As you pass through the slightly low entrance, you'll enter a warmly lit interior with a wooden theme. This restaurant stands out for its wide variety of menu options, covering everything from sashimi, grilled dishes, fried foods, tempura, skewers, yakiniku, hot pot, side dishes, and finishing dishes. What makes this place remarkable is that the quality of the dishes rivals that of specialized restaurants, be it tempura or yakiniku. Starting with a sharp sashimi platter, followed by live Awabi from Awaji. I opted for a super dry Harushika sake, which paired perfectly with the meal. In between, I enjoyed the crispy salad with fried dried radish and myoga, as well as the potato salad. Next up was a trio of wagyu beef cuts - Haneshita, Harami, and Bara. The Haneshita, enjoyed with salt and wasabi, was a delight with its tender texture and sweet oil bursting in the mouth. The yakitori included juicy Seseri and the flavorful hand-kneaded Tsukune, generously coated with egg yolk and sweet sauce. The chicken Nanban with plenty of egg-rich tartar was a hit, along with the charcoal-grilled asparagus and the fresh firefly squid. After a breather with the plump edamame and assorted pickles, we indulged in a carb fest with homemade pizza and oversized sushi. Despite all this, we couldn't resist trying the Chinese soba with beef and radish broth. The staff's humorous and attentive service, along with the perfect balance of being present but not intrusive, made the dining experience complete. This popular restaurant requires reservations, but it's a great choice for treating important friends from afar. Thank you for the feast!
