Lunch today was in Ookuni-cho. I had a support lunch at a restaurant that is still open despite the pandemic. We went to a restaurant called "Kasuzenraku Sakafune" in Motomachi, Naniwa-ku, just north of Ookuni-cho Station. I had the "Grilled Isaki Marinated in Salt Koji from Wakayama Kada" set meal, my child had the "Miyazaki Brand Pork Tonkatsu with 2 kinds of sauce" set meal, and my wife had the "Deep-fried Suzuki from Wakayama Kada" set meal. "Kasuzenraku Sakafune" is a cozy restaurant with a home-like atmosphere. For lunch, they offer 10 different set meals that come with a main dish, side dishes, two small side dishes, soup, pickles, and white rice. The "Grilled Isaki Marinated in Salt Koji" that I had was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The side dish was buttered Baron potatoes, and the small side dish was eggplant with miso paste. The rice was also delicious, and they offer free rice refills. They also had a variety of tasty Japanese sake in the fridge on the wall, and some customers were enjoying a drink during lunch. I would love to come back here for dinner sometime. The set meal at Sakafune was so delicious!

Today, I visited Sakafune in Oguni Town for lunch. I had made a reservation, but arrived at 12:20, 10 minutes before. Normally, they would display the menu for the day at this time, but today it was scheduled for 12:30. The reservation guests started coming in at 11:35, and I was the last one to arrive, so they seated me at 11:40. The menu for today had many tempting options like fried sea bream, fried horse mackerel, sake-steamed rockfish, salt-grilled saury, etc. In the end, I chose the large shrimp and flounder fry, which was probably the highlight of the day! It was delicious. The shrimp fry was big, and the flounder fry was unexpectedly tasty. Not only the main dishes, but also the clam ajillo, grilled horse mackerel, the usual sweet potato (which was more than enough haha) were all really delicious. You can't go wrong with this place! Thank you for the meal today. As I left after making a reservation for next time, I saw there were 33 people waiting in line! I thought about joining the line alone, but the person at the end of the line told me they were done with lunch and left. It was 12:10. Sakafune is truly amazing. Please make a reservation when you visit. Also, please refrain from calling during lunch hours as the staff is very busy. Thank you! 🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️

Once again, I visited Sakafune-san! This is my fourth time (lol). Looking at today's menu, I decided to go with the seafood pork bone broth champon, the black wagyu beef meat tofu set meal, and the Gaucho fried chicken. I passed on the champon because I thought the broth might have fish and the meat tofu because there was too little meat last time. So, I went for the Gaucho fried chicken, which I didn't really know much about but looked delicious after a quick search online. And it was indeed delicious! I arrived before 11:30 as I had made a reservation, so there was no need to wait in line. Interestingly, today the line was formed in the park across the road from the restaurant, with 26 people waiting. Those with reservations were scattered around, about 10 people or so. The Gaucho fried chicken arrived and it was very tasty, just like I had read online. It had a snack-like quality and tasted great with the aosa salt. The sauce that came with it was good, but the aosa salt was the clear winner in terms of flavor. The side dish today, chicken and meatballs, was also delicious! Thank you for the meal! The lady next to me had ordered the meat tofu set meal, and the portion of meat was really generous... I felt a bit conflicted, but the Gaucho was so good... The sweet potato was tasty, but I don't need it every time (lol). It makes my mouth dry and I end up wanting water. I wish they would change it to something like today's side dish. I also made a reservation for next time before leaving! The staff is very friendly! Thank you for the meal! Thank you very much.

Continuing from yesterday, I visited Sakafune in Oguni Town for the second day in a row. Today, there were fewer customers than usual due to the rain, but around 10 people were still lined up to leave around noon. I believe they opened the second floor to accommodate customers because of the rain. How kind of Sakafune! Today, I had the sukiyaki set meal that sold out quickly on the first day. I was called first and seated at the counter in the back left. I used the restroom, which was divided into a section for men to stand and one for men and women to sit, and was surprised to find a bath as well. It seems like they renovated a personal home for this. The sukiyaki set meal was delicious, but I wished there was a bit more meat... and I couldn't help but notice that the lady next to me had more meat in her sukiyaki set... Maybe it's just my imagination... but I think my portion of meat ended up at the lady's table, and her fish cake ended up at mine... I'm so petty... I wanted more meat than fish cake... Anyway, the taste at this restaurant is undeniably great! It was delicious again today! Thank you for the meal!

This is my second time at Sakafune. I made a reservation this time because last time I came without one and had to wait in line for quite a while. As mentioned on their website, it is best to avoid the lunch rush hours and call ahead to make a reservation. Lunch reservations are only available for 11:30. Today, I had the pork cutlet and small horse mackerel fry. The horse mackerel fry was incredibly delicious. The tartar sauce on the mackerel was also very tasty, making it a double delicious meal. The pork cutlet was a bit bland though. The miso soup was also very flavorful with a fish base. You can get seconds of rice. The rice was also delicious! I left the restaurant before 12 pm and there were already about 15 people waiting in line. Thank you for the delicious lunch. It was a great meal!

The food was very delicious! I arrived around 11:30 and the group behind me had already finished the lunch reception. It seemed a bit difficult for the person at the back to inform those who arrived after that the reception had ended. It might be helpful to have a sign or something.

I visited before 11:30 AM on a weekday and there was a long line. I'm glad I made a reservation! The menu is extensive and it's great to have so many choices for less than 1000 yen. The food was delicious and looked beautiful! The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very calm and I would like to visit at night as well. The food was so delicious that I had seconds!

Today, I visited Sakafune in Daikoku-cho for lunch. This restaurant is affiliated with Yamanaka Sake Store, where I have enjoyed sake before, but I had no idea they had a restaurant like this. This was my first time visiting! I arrived at 11:15 and there were already 2 groups waiting. It was quite hot because there is a park on the south side. Although they had fans, they were not turned on... I felt like I might get heatstroke... The restaurant opened at 11:30, with 29 people waiting in line and 9 people not in line. They provided a table with today's lunch menu. They started calling people who had reservations first. There were about 15 people who had reservations. I was the first in line. I entered the restaurant at 11:40, but unfortunately, the beef tendon stew set was sold out. I placed my order when entering the restaurant and I chose the sashimi set. The food arrived at 11:50. I had to catch the 12:18 train from Daikoku-cho, so I hurried to eat. The sashimi was delicious, and the side dishes were tasty too. I even had seconds of rice because it was so good. The sashimi set had a small portion, so I finished eating quickly even though I didn't have to rush. The person next to me was eating beef tendon stew and fried chicken. I'm not usually interested in fried chicken, but theirs looked really delicious! Although the sashimi set was highly recommended, the other dishes seemed equally appetizing... a slightly awkward feeling... I left the restaurant at 12:05. They only accept cash for lunch. There were still over 20 people waiting outside. I wouldn't recommend it if you're short on time, but if you have time, I would recommend enjoying a leisurely meal and some sake. Next time, I would like to try the fried chicken or hamburger! 🍽️

There is no doubt about it. I don't like crowded lunches and waiting in line, so I opted for the evening dinner course, which was a great choice. Everything was delicious, and I could feel the staff's knowledge and love for Japanese sake. I will definitely go back soon! Fresh fish from Kizu Market, Japanese sake, and the location of the restaurant all exceeded my expectations.

Three key points: 1. This hidden gem of a Japanese restaurant in the downtown area serves delicious side dishes, small dishes, and of course, the rice is also top-notch. You can even get a second helping of rice! 2. Lunch hours are short, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, and they have limited menu items that sell out quickly, so it's best to go early. 3. I was so impressed with the food last time that I came back immediately. The Chicken Nanban set meal is generous in portion size, and the homemade sweet and savory sauce with crispy and juicy chicken is unbeatable. The rice, made with organic Koshihikari rice, is shiny and delicious. You'll definitely want a second helping of rice with the Chicken Nanban - it's that good! The restaurant has a luxurious feel with a garden, and it gets crowded quickly after opening at 11:30 am. I arrived a bit after 11:00 am and there was already a line of about 20 people, but it was worth the wait for this delicious set meal. Enjoy!

I arrived at the restaurant around 12:00 for lunch. There was a long line outside in the scorching heat... I should have come earlier like before. Just as I was thinking of giving up and leaving, more customers started to arrive... I decided to wait in line after all. I ordered the morning-caught sashimi set from Mr. Maeshima in front of Kizu Market! I wish they would tell me what kind of fish it is when they serve it. Some are easy to tell just by looking, but there are also some that you can't tell until you taste it. Payment: lunch is cash only.

Despite being in a remote location, this place is super popular! The delicious menu items sell out quickly! The last meal available was the flavorful black wagyu minced meat and shrimp stewed hamburger set for ¥1,080. The exterior and interior of the restaurant are beautifully designed with a natural feel, creating a perfect atmosphere! The spacious, traditional Japanese-style interior is filled with light, making it a comfortable space to be in. The counter seats are lined with sake bottles, and even the water is served in large bottles, giving a luxurious feel. The shoebox is labeled with the favorite number thirteen. Each dish is served on a tray with a variety of side dishes, including the last hamburger of the day, which was delicious. The side dishes included fresh cobia sashimi with spicy mentaiko, chicken and okara salad, plenty of seafood broth, purple sweet potato dish, and homemade pickles. The rice was shiny and delicious, made from organic koshihikari rice. The cobia and mentaiko salad alone was worth getting seconds of rice. Each side dish was carefully made with a delicious taste that showed attention to detail. The hamburger was soft, fluffy, and packed with meaty flavor. The shrimp fritters were crispy and juicy, a perfect combination of taste, appearance, and quality. You can get seconds of rice once, so make sure to enjoy the delicious food. With a wide variety of menu items, this place is definitely popular. Since reservations are not accepted, be prepared to wait in line! They take good care of preventing heatstroke, so I'll have to come back for another opportunity. A wonderful meal at Lilou and Happy! Bon appétit!

I arrived at the restaurant at 11:20, even though it opens at 11:30. There was a bit of a line, but the restaurant has plenty of seats so I didn't mind waiting a bit. I should have definitely brought a parasol though, waiting under the scorching sun was tough! It seems like you can also make reservations for lunch, which might be a good idea. The number of reservations might be limited, but since it's a big restaurant, you will be seated after a short wait! As for the food, I wasn't in the mood for fish so I went for the hearty grilled meat set! The broth with clams was delicious, and the grilled meat sauce seemed to be soy sauce-based and a bit salty for my taste, but the option for free rice refills was much appreciated! Overall, it's a good value for money.

This is a lunch set at a traditional Japanese cuisine restaurant. They have a daily changing menu with options for fish and meat dishes. Popular items sell out quickly, but the dishes are all so tempting that it's worth waiting in line. The Ebi Mayo and Hamachi I tried were surprisingly flavorful and paired well with the rice. For only 980 yen, you get rice, miso soup, two small side dishes, and a main dish. Plus, you can get free refills of rice. Located in Daikokucho, Osaka, I highly recommend trying it out.

In Oguni Town, the "Yamanaka Sake Store" runs a traditional Japanese izakaya. Upon entering, you'll find a spacious area with tatami seating, tables, and a counter. The high ceilings and inner courtyard add a special touch to the ambiance. One of their signature dishes is the "Black Wagyu Kappa Meat with Homemade Sauce Grilled Meat Set" for 980 yen. Kappa meat is not commonly found due to its tough texture, but here it is properly prepared. The meat has a chewy texture and releases a rich umami flavor with each bite. The sweet and savory homemade sauce complements the meat perfectly. The set meal also includes side dishes and soup, all meticulously prepared and delicious. While prices have recently gone up, most menu items are still priced at 980 yen, making it a great value. Rice refills are free (no extra large portions). The stylish tableware adds to the dining experience. Lunchtime can get busy, so making a reservation in advance is recommended. Follow their Instagram account @masayan.310 for more updates.

The white rice is incredibly delicious (ˊ˘ˋ*)♡ I got hooked on this restaurant since my first visit, and now I love it so much that I go there about once a week! The lunchtime always has a line, even though I go right when they open at 11:30 am. The presentation, dishes, and appearance are all top-notch. I've tried various menu items and they are all delicious. And the best part is that the prices are around 1,000 yen! Such a good deal! The side dishes are also tasty, but the white rice is the real star! You can only get one refill, but I always ask for it.. The shrimp mayo is always available, and in my opinion, it's tastier than shrimp mayo from anywhere else ♡ I haven't been there for dinner yet, but I'd like to try it sometime. Thank you for the delicious meal! ♡

Even though the restaurant was open on Saturdays, I was told that the morning-caught sashimi set was sold out last time, so this time I ordered the sashimi set. The taste was excellent as always, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was pleasant. This time, the rice was mixed with various ingredients, and although I couldn't get a refill last time, I was able to this time and left satisfied. It's necessary to line up before 11:30 for lunch, but I want to visit again to try various menu items. Taste: 5, Atmosphere: 5, Cost performance: 4, Service: 4, Volume: 3, Variety of menu: 3.5, Overall: 4.1

Daikokucho Sakafune was found on Tabelog and looked delicious! The atmosphere seemed nice too! I made a reservation for 12 o'clock with my friends and went. When I arrived at 11:45, there were already a few groups waiting, but when I told the staff that we had a reservation for 12 o'clock, they asked us to wait outside until then. Even after 12 o'clock passed, we weren't called in... and we ended up waiting outside for almost 30 minutes. When we were finally called in, we were not seated right away, but had to wait again. Finally, when we were seated and chose our menu, there was only one sashimi left. We had to choose something else, and finally got our food. My grilled fish and my friend's fried oysters were both delicious! The white rice was especially tasty! Even the tempura side dish was delicious even when it cooled down. Later, some male customers arrived and were also asked to wait outside... Despite the delicious food and nice atmosphere, I couldn't help but think that there is room for improvement in the staff's service. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch at a delicious restaurant.

◆Located a short walk from Oukokucho Station, this charming building in front of the park catches your eye as you pass by. Intrigued, I decided to have lunch there. The lunch menu offers great value for money, but be prepared to wait for about an hour if you arrive around opening time.◆The dishes are meticulously prepared, from the miso soup to the side dishes, making each one delicious and worth the wait.◆The staff, although busy, are polite and attentive, which is much appreciated.◆The interior and exterior of the restaurant are visually appealing, with a design that stands out. The spacious interior, with options ranging from seats overlooking a courtyard to sunken kotatsu seating, makes for a comfortable dining experience. I would like to visit at night to see how the atmosphere changes.◆The clientele seems to consist of people in their 30s to 50s, families, and groups of women. The calm and relaxed ambiance of the restaurant is fitting for the customer base.

I went to Sakafune in Daikokucho. It's a shop run by Yamanaka Sake, which is well-known among sake lovers. They offer a wide variety of sake, along with delicious dishes made from carefully selected ingredients. The interior is bright with natural light and even has a traditional Japanese bath in the restroom. The prices are reasonable, with most items priced at 880 yen. What surprised me the most was that everything from the rice to the pickles and soup was delicious. It's rare to find a place that excels in all three areas. I had a very satisfying lunch.

There is a shop located about 5 minutes north of Daikokucho Station, a branch of "Yamanaka" that is well-known among sake lovers. This Japanese sake specialty store offers reasonably priced lunch options starting from 880 yen, making it hard to choose what to order! This time, I ordered the "Morning-caught sashimi set from Mr. Kizumachi in Wakayama Kata" which was served on a large tray, leaving a big impression! The sashimi was fresh and delicious, and the set also came with appetizers and side dishes, making it very satisfying. The cost performance is too good to be true! I would like to try the 880 yen lunch next time. The set includes sashimi (sea bream, sea bass, horse mackerel namero, and kelp-marinated boar from Muras-san), appetizers (like sweet silk university-style sweet potatoes), side dishes (such as homemade onion sesame dressing salad and Okinawa thread mozuku and fresh jellyfish with kabosu ponzu), soup (fish-based miso soup), pickles (fermented health food homemade pickles), and rice (organic koshihikari rice from Shimizu-san).
