The cheapest business hotel in Osaka is around Shin-Imamiya, attracting many foreign travelers looking for budget accommodations. The area resembles Thailand's Khao San Road with its abundance of karaoke bars and snack shops. Among them is a sushi restaurant called "Edomae Sushi," known for its extensive selection of Japanese sake. Unlike typical sushi restaurants that offer mainstream sake brands like Shirasagi or Daiginjo, this place stands out for its impressive variety of sake at affordable prices. It's more like a top-notch sake izakaya rather than a sushi restaurant. The food, including large plate dishes, is served promptly, and the grilled fish and fried items are particularly delicious. The sushi selections are also outstanding, with several standout options. The Iwashi sushi, wrapped in seaweed, is a must-try and truly showcases the quality of the ingredients. Despite the high quality, the bill at the end is surprisingly reasonable, making it a fantastic dining experience.

Sorry, I would like to evaluate the sushi and appetizers separately. The rating on this page is for the appetizers. Appetizers: - Sweet shrimp is extremely delicious, a good size and satisfying! You can taste the freshness of the shrimp with the miso flavor. - Bonito sashimi is incredibly delicious!! Fresh. The salt provided at each table was a nice touch. - There was live and grilled rock oysters on the menu, I wanted to try them live but my companion preferred them grilled. They were still delicious grilled. - Eel tempura had a good amount of fat, and was soft and tender. Yes, delicious. - Grilled scallops were just delicious. Just delicious. - Snow crab was okay. The male crab had good meat, but for some reason it was a bit bland and lacked sweetness. - Egg custard was hot and fluffy and delicious♡ The best!! - Both the steamed egg custard and red miso soup were very delicious♡ The red miso had plenty of fish and was not just boiled, it was a delicious red miso. As for the sushi... well, I think it's a matter of personal preference. Am I the only one? The appetizers were all excellent. The ingredients were fresh... To put it nicely, I felt the rice was lacking. To be blunt, the rice was bad. So the sushi was a bit... Attention, this is my subjective opinion. Everyone has their own preferences. Each piece of sushi should be eaten separately, each ingredient is good. I've been to the sushi restaurant twice, and both times the sushi was not good. So, if I were to rate the sushi, I would give it ★★☆☆☆ (2 points maybe... sweat) ☺︎ Overall, the service from everyone was excellent, very kind♡ But if I could make one more request, I would like the sake cups to be filled up a bit more, not just up to 2.5cm below the rim, but a little higher. That's probably how a mother would pour it beautifully, but it's at a level where you wonder if anyone has actually had a drink yet, haha. In conclusion, in all modesty, it was incredibly delicious, but the sushi was the only downside. Thank you for the meal.

A sushi restaurant where things might work out if you line up. Occasionally, they may be full and apologize. After a few attempts, I finally managed to get in. I had a light sushi meal because I didn't have much room in my stomach. I heard that the bonito was recommended, so I went for it. Since it was before dinner, I had to restrain myself. It was reasonably priced, about half or a third of the price in Ginza. I would definitely like to come back again.

I finally got to visit Sushi Kan, a place I had been wanting to go for a while. I went early on a weekday evening, so I didn't have to wait to be seated. I ordered the Chef's choice sashimi for 1500 yen, a starter with sea urchin for 1200 yen, salt-grilled amberjack collar for 800 yen, 4 pieces of sardine sushi for 300 yen, and grilled white eel sushi for 500 yen. The sea urchin was delicious, but the portion was small due to the higher price. The squid sashimi underneath was also very tasty, so I was satisfied. The sardine sushi was a good deal with 4 pieces at a low price. However, the grilled eel was not particularly to my liking, as it didn't stand out in terms of flavor. I initially wanted to order grilled tilefish, but the staff warned me that it was quite large and difficult for one person to finish, so I gave up on that. Overall, I was satisfied and would like to go back again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant on a weeknight. When I arrived at 5:30 pm, there was only one seat available. Lucky for me. There were 2 or 3 people waiting behind me, so it seemed like a bit of a wait. I started with a Kirin Lager (600 yen) and sat at the counter where there was a lively fish tank with sea bream, flounder, and plenty of live shrimp swimming around. The freshness was evident. I ordered the natural sea bream (500 yen), grilled eel (500 yen), and white fish sushi (500 yen) to start. The sea bream was delicious with a smooth texture and sweetness. Next was the grilled eel, which was surprisingly good with a crispy, flavorful finish. Then came the white fish sushi, which was large and rich in flavor. I also added grilled mackerel (300 yen), premium eel (600 yen), and grilled squid to snack on. The grilled squid was slightly disappointing with uneven cooking. The highlight was the mackerel, a specialty of the house, with a perfect balance of richness and flavor. It was a must-try dish. Lastly, I ended with the toro-taku roll (800 yen), which paired fatty tuna with pickled radish for a perfect combination of flavors and textures. Overall, the restaurant exceeded my expectations and offered truly delicious sushi. It has become one of my go-to places for sushi in Osaka. Thank you for the meal.

Always the best! There are many regular customers, and there is already a line before the 4:00 opening. I was able to get in right when they opened, but everyone starts eating sushi around 6:00 while drinking and having appetizers at Sushikan♡ Thank you always!

On September 17, 2022 (Saturday), we enjoyed dishes such as abalone sashimi, fried oysters, fried chicken, miso-marinated hokke fish, fresh Pacific saury grilled with salt (from Hokkaido). The menu also included Pacific saury for ¥400, sardines for ¥300, squid legs for ¥200, eel for ¥600, salmon roe for ¥400, rolled omelet for ¥300, and red miso soup with Tamagoyaki Island for ¥700. On August 23, 2016 (Tuesday), we had the recommended sushi platter with 8 pieces for ¥2,000.

I study before traveling abroad. Today I visited this restaurant. It was fully booked at 5:30 pm on a weekday. Despite it being a weekday, it was very busy!! I sat at the counter seat just as a lady was leaving, and ordered a draft beer. For snacks, I ordered a sashimi platter, egg dish, and red snapper soup. The sushi case was filled with a huge variety of sushi! The sashimi platter arrived as I finished my first beer!! It included medium fatty tuna, red clam, squid, yellowtail, sea bream, and sweet sea bream - all delicious!! The egg dish was freshly baked and slightly sweet, very tasty!! When the soup arrived, I ordered hot sake and finished with a bowl of rice and miso soup with clams!! It was a perfect dinner!! Thank you for the meal!!

This place, while located in Nishinari, boasts authentic Edomae sushi. I remembered visiting before the pandemic and decided to revisit. The restaurant was still bustling, with the same lively staff. Sushi prices range from 200 yen, but the quality matches the price. The plates are on the smaller side, but that's to be expected for non-conveyor belt sushi. The selection is diverse, and the eel was exceptional!

We had relied on a sushi restaurant for a reservation, but couldn't get one, so we randomly went to a nearby restaurant (which was full). It turned out to be a great choice. In addition to sushi, they also served fried food, simmered dishes, and grilled dishes. The chef was wearing a tie, and the restaurant, although small, had an atmosphere similar to a high-class Japanese restaurant. We ate and drank to our heart's content, expecting it to cost around 20,000 yen for two people, but it only came to 10,000 yen with change. We were surprised. The service was excellent and we have no complaints. We will definitely visit again.

I visited the restaurant at 5:30 on Saturday. Since there were no seats available, I left my phone number and wandered around. I received a call after about 20 minutes and went to the restaurant. I started with a sashimi platter with fresh oysters and eel liver. The sashimi included ark shell, bonito, tuna, flathead flounder, sweet shrimp, and squid, all of which were delicious. I also had plum quartz and white fish tempura. For the simmered dish, I tried the recommended cuttlefish. For sushi, I started with fatty tuna and then had eel and flounder nigiri. I finished with a red miso soup with egg. It was a satisfying meal.

I mistakenly thought the restaurant would open at 4:30 pm, so I called at that time only to find out they were already fully booked. They said they would let me know when a table became available, so I waited. They called me just before 7 pm and I went straight there. The restaurant was packed and bustling with customers. The staff were all very friendly. I sat at the counter and ordered a drink first. The selection of fresh seafood in the display case was amazing. There were also many recommendations on the whiteboard menu. I tried some appetizers and switched from beer to sake. The grilled clams were delicious, juicy and flavorful. Unfortunately, they didn't have any raw sardines, which I like. I asked for vinegar-washed sardines, and they were also excellent. They even provided different soy sauces depending on what we ordered, which was a nice touch. My friend and I had a lot to eat and drink, and the bill came to 15,000 yen. By the way, smoking is allowed inside the restaurant, which was great.

I heard it was a popular restaurant and decided to give it a try. The exterior had a traditional feel to it. When I entered, the craftsmen-like staff members elevated my excitement just by looking at them. I had already eaten okonomiyaki at a different restaurant, so this time I ordered tamago (egg) dish and iwashi (sardine) dish. Both dishes were flavorful and had generous portions. The iwashi sushi, in particular, was delicious and visually appealing. I will definitely come back when I'm hungry next time.

All of the dishes were delicious, but the herring sushi stood out with its firm texture and exceptional taste. We also had tempura, simmered dishes, and drank quite a bit of alcohol, but the total bill for two people was around 15,000 yen, which is quite reasonable.

I received only this and it cost ¥18,900 (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵). I arrived 30 minutes before the 16:00 opening time, but there were already two groups waiting. The restaurant opened right at 16:00. There are 11 seats at the counter and two tables for 4 people each, totaling 19 seats. The restaurant was already full when it opened. The atmosphere is lively with regular customers and repeat visitors from the local area. The owner and the young lady manager are very efficient and attentive, which explains why they have so many repeat customers. It's a warm and unpretentious sushi restaurant. They have a great selection of sake and side dishes, which I really liked. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, Dobutsuen-mae Station. It's been a while since I visited Sushi Hiro! It's always crowded and popular, so I haven't had a chance to visit, but this time it was surprisingly empty so I entered right away! As always, I started with my favorite Fukushima's Seki-raku sake. For appetizers, I had "Kohada oroshi ae" and "Kue sashimi". The slightly sweet Seki-raku sake paired perfectly with the Kue sashimi. The grated Kohada with just the right amount of soy sauce was also delicious. I also had the Koshino Kanbai sake at room temperature, and then I had "Eel Shiro-yaki" and "Kohada" sushi. The fluffy and thick Shiro-yaki was quite large, making it look like it was floating in the air in the photo. Starting and ending with Kohada, you might say I really love Kohada. In Osaka, it's not as common, so whenever I see Kohada, I have to eat it. #Sushi Hiro #All dishes at Sushi Hiro are delicious #Sushi Hiro's rolled sushi is great #Nishinari gourmet #Nishinari drinking #Nishinari sushi #Kohada sushi #Kohada #Kohada lover

This time it was more crowded than usual, and I couldn't even get through on the phone. When I went there in person, it was indeed packed. They gave me their contact information and said they would call me when a spot opened up! The anago (conger eel) I was aiming for is a must here. The anago here is the most delicious. It's thick and fluffy! It never disappoints. And the iwashi (sardine). It's 300 yen for 2 pieces. I was surprised when it arrived! Is this really 300 yen?! Unbelievable. It was cut into two pieces, so I got four pieces. When I tried it, it was fatty and tender, without any fishy taste! It might have even surpassed the excitement of the anago. This item has also become a must-order. I also tried the simmered gashira (young yellowtail) and the tsubugai (whelk) sashimi. The tsubugai is amazing! It comes with the shell, and you can even eat the liver. It's crunchy! It goes too well with sake. The liver is rich and delicious. It's even better when eaten with myoga. The gashira was my first time trying it, but it's surprisingly light! Despite looking small, there is a lot of edible part, which is great! It has a good amount of fat for a white fish, which is nice! They have a great selection of drinks. I had my favorite Yamaneko (mountain cat) and tried Yamasaru (mountain monkey) for the first time! When we talked about the mountain series, the staff mentioned, "Yamasemi is a rice shochu." Interesting. I had a lot to drink and eat for just a little over 6000 yen. What a deal. I wonder how much the gashira and tsubugai were... I have to come back again!!

I visited a restaurant after a long time, located south of the zoo. There are many Chinese karaoke bars around. Despite the pandemic, the karaoke bars around were quite busy. We arrived at the restaurant, started with a toast with beer, and had a sashimi platter with natural sea bream, bonito, squid, ark shell, medium fatty tuna, and kanpachi. The natural sea bream was delicious. We also ordered simmered young flounder with rolled omelette and hairy crab. For sushi, we had squid, tuna, and eel, and tried tiger fish as recommended, along with sashimi and red miso soup. We refreshed our palate with umesuisho, had Yamamura Yamasuke sake, and the total bill for three people was 23,000 yen. On our way out, we saw a 7-kilogram wreckfish in the tank. Today's special was natural sea bream, but they also serve white fish. Conger eel was sent from Yamaguchi, and Korean conger eel is said to have tender skin and taste delicious. It was a shame we couldn't try it because it arrived a bit late!

A sushi restaurant in a traditional Osaka-style shopping street! The street is now filled with karaoke bars. This restaurant opens at 4 p.m. and as soon as it opens, it's already full. The family-run establishment has a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a counter, tatami seating, the owner, the owner's wife, the owner's mother, and two chefs. The food was delicious with a wide variety of ingredients.

I came back again because I couldn't forget the conger eel I had last time. You can't make reservations here, but apparently you can call after they open and say "I'll be there in how many minutes!" I did that this time too! Even though it hadn't been 30 minutes since they opened, it was already full. The conger eel here is so delicious. It's tender and meaty. I like the fatty, tender type of conger eel, but this one is the best. And it's only 200 yen for 2 pieces, so cheap. I even ordered another plate. (laughs) Also, the marinated mackerel here is amazing. It's moist and doesn't have any fishy smell! It's also 200 yen, so it's a great deal. Highly recommended! And the sashimi of thread-sail filefish here is incredible! It's lined up beautifully on the plate and looks luxurious! It's so fresh because it was swimming in the tank! They cut up a whole fish for it. They also served the simmered head part as a surprise! That was a nice touch. I will definitely go back again!

You can always enjoy high-level flavors from classic to seasonal fish. For the finale, I ordered rib roast sushi (o^^o) with uni on top of Matsusaka beef - luxurious and delicious! The chef said, "I played around a bit with this," but playing around with food is delicious! ❤️
