I tried the sea bream dashi ochazuke for the first time and it was delicious! The system involved buying a meal ticket, and although I could choose between small, regular, or large portions of rice, I opted for regular since it was my first time. It turned out to be a bit too much for me, and I ended up feeling full. The sesame sauce with sea bream and dashi was tasty. I appreciated that they included plenty of dashi. Thank you for the meal!

After returning from the sauna, I walked to Sapporo Station and stopped by En Japan Life Sapporo Building for dinner. I ordered a soy sauce koji dashi chazuke with natural flounder and a regular-sized meat udon. I also had a small bottle of Ebisu beer. The chazuke was served within 5 minutes and came with two small side dishes and miso soup. It had a fast-food feel to it, but was light and easy to eat. The meat udon, on the other hand, had a clear Kansai-style broth that was heavily seasoned with artificial flavoring, which I personally didn't enjoy. Overall, it was a decent meal.

I enjoyed two different dishes at this restaurant: half-and-half maguro zuke (marinated tuna) and kakiage (mixed vegetable tempura) chazuke (rice soaked in tea). The broth was well-balanced and tasty when mixed with the chazuke. It was nice to have side dishes included. This is a convenient place for a drink or a light meal. I'm curious about their udon, so I'll try that next time.

Chikaho is a convenient place to go back and forth from work without getting wet in the rain. The tea pickles and udon shop that I had been curious about before is located here. I wonder if it's related to the izakaya "En"? During lunchtime, the seats are almost full of women seeking dashi tea pickles, so if there seems to be a vacant seat at a slightly off-peak time, I'll visit. I had tried the tea pickles before, but I felt a bit unsatisfied at lunchtime, so this time I chose the meat udon. You can choose a large serving for free, but I looked at my own stomach and went with a regular serving. The udon here is softer compared to Sanuki udon, but it's not lacking in texture. It's smooth and delicious. The broth is made with kombu, dried bonito, and even chicken.

I came on a 2-night, 3-day trip to Hokkaido. I ate a lot of sushi and seafood bowls, so for lunch I had ochazuke. I had kamameshi with whitebait and umeboshi for 790 yen, while my husband had mentaiko with takana for 750 yen. The umeboshi had just the right amount of saltiness. The dashi soup was also delicious! And it seems you can get refills. The dishes came out quickly after ordering. I noticed that the customers were mostly women. I would like to visit again next time I come.

Sapporo, Hokkaido, Chuo-ku, Kita 3-jo Nishi 4-1-1, Nippon Life Sapporo Building B1F. Connected directly to the Chikaho underground walkway that links Sapporo Station and Odori Station, this is the "En" restaurant located between McDonald's and Pronto. Inside the restaurant, there is a ticket machine on the left side where you purchase your meal ticket first. The touch panel display makes it easy to choose, but there is only one machine so it can get crowded. Once you have your meal ticket, the staff will guide you to your seat, as there are only counter seats available. The counter seats are arranged in a "コ" shape against the wall, with a large lantern displaying the restaurant's name above. I ordered the Ta-dashi Chazuke Set for 1000 yen. The staff asked about nut allergies, but since it was a sesame sauce with sea bream, I was fine. The sea bream was cut into strips and placed on top of the sesame sauce, with a sprinkling of arare on top. The instructions were to mix it well before putting it on the rice. You can choose the rice portion size (small, regular, large) at the ticket machine, and I chose the large portion. The bowl was filled generously, and I was satisfied with the amount. The sea bream was easy to eat without any strong fishy taste, and the hot broth kept the dish warm throughout. The meal also came with kimpira burdock, tofu, and pickled cucumber. There are other options on the menu like salmon and salmon roe or shrimp and small fish tempura. I'm already thinking about what to try next time.

On flight days, I tend to skip lunch. Feeling hungry, I stumbled upon this place while walking through the underground passage. - Atmosphere: Simple tables - Ordering process: Buy ticket from vending machine, choose seat, hand over ticket, no need to clean up - Customers: Several young couples - Stayed for about 20 minutes - Efficient and quick service - Menu: Various kinds of ochazuke (rice with tea poured over it), available in small portions - No parking available - Dish tried: Sea bream ochazuke for ¥1000. It was quick to eat, which was good.

I visited for the first time with a swollen wisdom tooth causing pain, so I had to stick to soft food options. I was torn between the sea bream tea rice bowl for 1,000 yen, but ended up choosing my favorite bonito sashimi for 850 yen. I purchased it from the ticket machine on the left at the entrance, and they only accept transportation electronic money. The service was quick, and you can ask for extra broth, as well as wasabi, shichimi, and other condiments from the staff. I enjoyed it with plenty of warm broth poured over. You can also order a large portion of rice, but the regular size was just right for me. It's not a meal that fills you up with low calories, but it was satisfying.

The dashi was outstanding, and the broth was very delicious. The noodles were a bit lacking, so next time I'll try making ochazuke with them. Looking back, I was drawn to the free upgrade to a large udon on the ticket machine. Udon is a bit cheaper, but I regret being stingy. The ochazuke looked delicious though, haha.

I visited a shop that I had been curious about for a while. The location is on the underground floor of the Nippon Life Building in the underground passage on the way from Sapporo Station to Odori. When you enter the shop, there is a ticket machine on the left side. It seems that the shop mainly serves ochazuke and udon. On this day, I decided to order the most intriguing sea bream ochazuke. There are counter seats in the center and along the wall, and acrylic panels are installed for COVID-19 measures, creating a clean and hygienic atmosphere. I sat at the empty seat along the wall and handed the ticket to the staff. It was ready in about 5 minutes. They told me to mix the sea bream before eating, so I thoroughly mixed the sea bream and miso. After mixing, the sea bream is placed on top of the rice and hot water is poured over it. Oh, this is a taste I've never had before. The sweet and salty flavor goes well with the mild sea bream. There is quite a lot of sea bream in it. It's also delicious to put the burdock that comes with it on the rice. The tofu also has a sweet taste, which is nice. It may be a bit pricey for lunch, but it seems convenient when you're short on time or want to eat gentle food for your stomach. Thank you for the meal!

I finally felt like I could eat something around 2 PM with my hangover. I found a new restaurant that I didn't know existed. I wanted to try the dashi tea-soaked rice, but they didn't have a set menu. I ended up ordering the beef and green pepper bukkake udon with a side of chikuwa tempura. The beef was cooked in a spicy ginger sauce, and the udon was soft but chewy. The dashi broth was gentle, with a subtle soy sauce flavor. The udon reminded me of a similar one I had at Maru○ Seimen, but I prefer the one from Maru○ Seimen.

These days, my stomach has been feeling a bit tired, so I was craving something refreshing to eat. I visited this restaurant and ordered their limited-time menu item, chilled ochazuke. The preparation of the rice was a bit off and the dashi was not cold enough, but it was still refreshing to eat. When making chilled ochazuke, it's important for the rice to be properly prepared to avoid any sliminess. However, considering this is a chain restaurant with affordable prices, I think it's not bad at all. Thank you for the meal.

Chicken and rice tea pickles for 780 yen (free large serving). This day, I was pretty hungover (lol). Despite that, I went to eat dinner with a colleague and chose this place. My colleague had udon, which seemed to be on the softer side. The large serving is free, so I opted for that and it was a decent amount of rice, satisfying. The broth was light and easy to eat, so I think I could handle it even with a hangover or feeling unwell (lol). It wasn't too strong, but still delicious. It was nice that it came with healthy side dishes like kinpira and tofu. I would like to come back here again. Next time, I'm curious about the popular sea bream tea pickles (which I haven't tried in my life).

Lunchtime peak. Oh no, everywhere is crowded with lines. I saw an empty seat from outside and jumped in here. No plan, what should I do, oh, they have my favorite chilled soup. I'll go with this. Chilled Soup 750 yen. Purchased from the ticket machine. The seating at the counter is a bit narrow, but there are acrylic boards between them. Soon, the chilly soup arrives. Hmm, a bit salty at first? But as I ate more, it didn't bother me. Perfect for my slightly sweaty body doing desk work in autumn. Crunchy cucumbers, eggplants, myoga, shiso, sesame, the ingredients are all there. The sour plum adds a nice kick. A great refreshing meal. Enjoyed it with a side dish, thank you. I wonder if they have it even in winter. That would be nice.

After work, I was feeling tired and wanted to eat something gentle, so I came here. I was curious about this place because there are not many shops specializing in dashi chazuke. I disinfect my hands and choose my menu from the ticket machine. I bought the takana and mentaiko chazuke with regular rice. The staff told me to sit wherever I like, so I sat in a corner. The partitions made of acrylic seem to be effective for safety measures. It arrived in about 10 minutes. It came with small side dishes - lotus root kinpira, chilled tofu, and pickles. I poured the dashi and started eating. The dashi is gentle, and the crispy texture of takana is good. The mentaiko is grilled. It's delicious to eat the dashi smoothly. It seems like you can get a refill of the dashi. The meat udon also looks delicious, so I want to try it next time.

Every time I pass by Chikaho, I was curious about this shop. They have a wide variety of ochazuke (tea rice) options, with the choice of portion size, which I thought was nice. The interior of the shop seemed to only have a counter, but there were actually plenty of seats available. They have a lot of ochazuke options on the menu, and you can choose to have it cold or hot. The dashi ochazuke is easy to eat. Next time, I will go to try their udon.

Sapporo Station and Odori Station are connected by the Sapporo Ekimae underground pedestrian space (Chi-Ka-Ho), where a high-end fast food Japanese restaurant operated by B・Y・O opened at the end of July 2020. They offer an exquisite dashi tea rice dish that changes the concept of home-made tea rice. It is a Japanese fast food restaurant where you can easily enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine. As of the end of April 2021, there are 21 stores, with many specializing in dashi tea rice, but this one offers both dashi tea rice and meat udon. Although it was usually crowded with young people, I decided to enter as it was before 11 am and the store was not busy. I purchased a meal ticket at the ticket machine on the left side of the entrance and then sat down. I handed the meal ticket to the staff to place my order. While it may make sense to have tea rice after drinking, is it appropriate for hungry men to have tea rice for lunch? The combination of dashi tea rice and meat udon is also an option, but it is quite expensive. There are no such reckless combinations on the ticket machine. Both tea rice and udon have additional toppings that increase the price. The cheapest option is meat udon at 730 yen, with each additional topping like egg, greens, fried tofu, and fish cake costing an extra 100 yen. Individual toppings cost 140 yen. Extra-large servings are free. You can also choose a small salmon rice bowl (330 yen) as a set. I chose the meat and fish cake tempura udon (870 yen). I sat at the counter seat, with partitions separating each seat. There were 2 customers in front of me and 5 customers behind me, all of them young people. The meal was promptly served as the previous customers' dishes were already prepared. The noodles were served in a large portion, topped with simmered beef, leeks, and fried fish cake. The soup was not too hot, allowing me to savor the flavor. It had a subtle taste with a strong dashi flavor. The noodles were interesting - chewy on the outside but still had some elasticity inside. The delicious soup made me finish it all. It was tasty, but this concept doesn't really suit older men like me. I prefer standing soba noodles for a quick meal.

It's more like morning than noon ★ I had the Yonezawa dashi with yuba and shirasu rice bowl for 800 yen. It's not the official name, but I love Yonezawa dashi. The combination of shirasu and yuba is also good, and the edamame in it is very nice. Healthy, delicious, and satisfying.

I was very curious and visited "Dashi Chazuke + Niku Udon En Nippon Life Sapporo Building Store" on 20/02. The rating was 3. Due to the impact of the coronavirus, restaurants are facing difficult times. As someone who makes a living in the food and beverage industry, I try to eat out to support them. The majority of customers were women, and the seating arrangements were done properly considering the current situation. It was my first visit, so I studied the menu in advance and decided on one from the menu at the entrance. I ordered Ebi and Irodori Yasai no Kakiage Niku Udon for 860 yen, Dashi Chazuke Half & Half Ta Dashi, Aburi Mentaiko, and Takana for 1,100 yen, and Tempura Chikuwa Isobenage for 140 yen. The total was 2,100 yen. Everything was delicious! However, spending over 2,000 yen for lunch with udon and chazuke was unexpected. Thank you for the meal, Dashi Chazuke + Niku Udon En Nippon Life Sapporo Building Store!

On a certain holiday, I visited a tea-dipping and udon noodle shop in the basement of the Nissei Building that was open before lunchtime. The shop, called "En," is located next to McDonald's, and I wondered if it was part of the Tempura Flame Group. The interior of the shop has a stylish Japanese-style round table counter with bright lighting and acrylic panels on both sides. Jazz music was playing in the background. I ordered the seasonal special "Cold Amberjack Tea-Dipped Udon (920 yen)" from the touchscreen ticket machine. The dish had a strong yuzu flavor and was topped with grated daikon radish, yuzu, green onions, and cold amberjack. The broth was delicious, and I enjoyed it like a morning meal. The meal also included unpickled pickled radish, soybean and hijiki salad, and tofu with sesame dressing. Overall, the meal was good, but I thought that a more simplified and affordable menu for quick, casual dining might also be a good idea.
