We stopped by this restaurant on our way to a day trip hot spring with our family. I had the tanuki musubi set, my wife had the daily lunch special, and our son had the warm tempura soba. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed it. The owner and staff were also very friendly and provided great service.

It was time for lunch in Kitaryu Town and I originally planned to eat at the Michi-no-Eki (roadside station), but I found this place on Tabelog and decided to visit. There is parking space for 4-5 cars behind the restaurant. I entered at 1pm. I was a bit hesitant when I saw the ashtray, but since there were no other customers, I sat at the counter. I ordered the Omiyage Vegetable Soba for 900 yen with pork. It arrived in less than 10 minutes. It looked like a Jiro-style soba with a mountain of vegetables on top - spicy white leeks, watercress, and boiled cabbage. The dipping sauce was hot with a good amount of pork belly. It was slightly sweet and had a drinkable concentration. The soba was a typical town soba type. I had to break down the vegetable mountain to reach the soba. I recommend it for those who need more vegetables, but if you don't usually eat vegetables, you might not be able to finish it. I had a very impactful soba. Since the place was empty, I was able to finish my lunch without being affected by the smoke. I will visit again if I don't have to worry about smoke. Thank you for the meal.

I visited "Himawari" in Kitahiroshima for lunch for the first time. I ordered the "soba + TKG set for 850 yen". The cold soba noodles were firm and had a great texture, very delicious. The TKG (egg over rice) had a rich soy sauce in a pot that paired perfectly with the egg, and the bonito flakes and tempura crumbs on top did a great job as well. Thank you for the delicious and affordable set, I am very satisfied.

I visited aiming for the opening as the daily lunch special is limited to 10 servings. It costs 650 yen and you can get a large portion for an additional 100 yen. I felt that a large portion would be just right for guys. On that day, the lunch set included mixed chirashi sushi, kajika soup, simmered okara, pickles, and a drink. It's not often you can eat kajika soup in inland areas. I post the daily lunch specials on Instagram every day, and there are dishes like deer meat that I would like to try. The mixed chirashi sushi was fluffy and easy to eat. The kajika soup had a rich flavor. According to locals present, the parking lot is full during lunchtime, indicating strong local popularity. However, it didn't feel uncomfortable even if you came from elsewhere. Sometimes when you casually enter a popular local restaurant, you might feel uncomfortable with the regular customers staring at you or the owner being too engrossed in conversation to take your order, but that's not the case here. You can visit at ease. It seems to be doing well enough, but I have a feeling that if more young people start using it, it could become even more popular through word of mouth. For now, the only sources of information about the restaurant are the town's website and the restaurant's official Instagram. If the generation that posts on Tabelog increases as customers, it is likely to gain more recognition. There is also a spacious raised seating area, and they apparently offer snacks from around 2 p.m., making it easy for families or groups of women to use. In Hokkaido, including Kitahiroshima, there are many unique restaurants in towns and villages. I regret having only used chain stores and roadside stations. I rated the drink 3 because I don't drink alcohol. The iced coffee was also very delicious. I was looking up where to eat hand-made soba in Kitahiroshima, but it wasn't on the menu. I wondered if it was just for the set soba or if it was a seasonal item.
