Accommodation with breakfast was great, starting from 5 am to cater to early risers like bikers and tourists. I also enjoyed the buffet before my morning jog. The restaurant was bustling with several elderly guests, the food was decent and clean, and the service was good. Thank you for the meal.

In June 2023, I am in Wakkanai City, Hokkaido. It's a solo journey of an old man with a broken kite string, skipping work and hopping around. After spending a night in Sapporo, I visited Kusiro City where I spent time until elementary school, then stayed in Takikawa for a night. Next, I stayed in Nakagawa Town where I was born. It was nostalgic and enjoyable. Now, bid farewell to the innkeeper and head towards Wakkanai. On the way, I plan to stop for coffee and think about various things. But the 90-minute journey to Wakkanai was uneventful, just pastures and silos. The excitement of discovering a Seicomart in Wakkanai for the first time was unmatched! I bought souvenirs, had scallop ramen and scallop curry half at Cape Soya, and enjoyed the Noshappu Cape bowl at Noshappu Cape. After indulging in the northernmost road station and the northernmost station, I bought a change of clothes and headed to the hotel. After a rest, I went out for drinks at "Genji," "Take-chan," "Rainy Night," "Paddle," and "River," but eventually gave up and crashed at the hotel. I stayed in a twin room alone and slept alone feeling lonely. The next morning, I was quite hungover, but since breakfast was included, I went to the buffet. The variety was quite good. The food I ate is as shown in the photos, and the bread, rice, and porridge were all delicious. The hangover cure really worked! Thank you for the hospitality. At check-out, I had my souvenirs, laundry, and other belongings delivered to my home or friends. Thank you for everything.

When I visited Wakkanai in Hokkaido the other day, I stayed at the "Safir Hotel Wakkanai" for 2 nights with a plan that included breakfast. I had breakfast at the hotel buffet. This hotel used to be called ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Wakkanai, so it seems to be related to All Nippon Airways. It is a pretty impressive hotel and located in front of Wakkanai Station, so I think it is a very convenient hotel. Breakfast was held on the 1st floor, probably at the hotel's cafe restaurant, Marine. When I entered the restaurant, I found a long and narrow interior with tables lined up along the large windows. The view from the windows overlooked Wakkanai Port, creating a nice atmosphere. The service was quite solid, but considering it was a buffet, that aspect needs to be taken into account. This time it was a breakfast buffet, so the dishes were lined up from the entrance to the back. As expected from a reputable hotel, there was a wide variety of dishes, including local products and regional cuisine. Fresh items like milk were also available, and even though it may not be the peak season for vegetables, there were plenty of vegetables on display, making it a wide selection. Compared to the breakfast buffets at business hotels, this buffet felt like a step up. Since I didn't have to leave early in the morning this time, I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal. I don't usually have the luxury of relaxing at home in the morning, so it felt like a luxurious moment.

I have visited Wakkanai many times while living there, but this is only my second time staying overnight. It's my first time trying the buffet, and the crab-flavored shumai, scallop shumai, and octopus soup curry were all delicious. The scallop shumai was particularly good with a strong scallop flavor. The Matsue pickles were salty, the tarako was mild, and the shiokara was quite sweet and salty. Overall, the buffet was decent, with some items like the corn potage being a bit lacking. However, the milk was good, and you can't go wrong with the local specialties in this region.

I'm heading out to play golf now, but before that, I'm having breakfast at a hotel buffet with a wide variety of Hokkaido ingredients that I want to try everything. I made sure to eat well until the last minute before departure because it's a leisurely play. I'm looking forward to heading to the northernmost golf course in Japan, Soya Hills Golf Club in Wakkanai.

After finishing sightseeing, we arrived at ANA Crown Hotel, which explains why it is such a splendid hotel. The view from the room is also quite nice. The banquet hall is impressive, and the cuisine is a mix of Japanese and Western courses, typical of hotel banquet menus. The food is delicious and the party progresses merrily. Tomorrow we have an early morning ⛳️, but I want to enjoy a bit more of the enchanting night in Wakkanai. ❤︎

Breakfast starts at 5 am, which is convenient for ferry services to remote islands. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes with quality ingredients typical of a city hotel. The venue is spacious and comfortable. Overall, it is a comfortable and affordable hotel.

On the fourth day of our drive and trip to Hokkaido, my wife and I stayed at ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Wakkanai. We chose this hotel for its location and the fact that it would be a safe place to stay even in case of a severe cold wave. The weather turned stormy with a blizzard around noon. When we checked in at the front desk, we opted for Japanese cuisine. Our room had a view of the northern port, which was quite picturesque. We were seated by the window at the Japanese restaurant. The snow crab was delicious, with plenty of rich miso. The scallops and salmon sashimi were fresh and sweet, but we wished there was more. The thinly sliced octopus shabu-shabu was incredibly tender. We enjoyed the fresh vegetable tempura. The breakfast buffet was lively and full of local ingredients. The milk tasted sweet. My wife, despite worrying about gaining weight, ate to her heart's content and was very satisfied. We are now heading out for a drive in the midst of a fierce blizzard.

I used this place during my trip to Wakkanai. The Foodlog rating (as of November 2018) is 3.06, but I was surprised at how hard they are trying. I thought it was clever that they offer a Japanese-Western buffet until 9 am, and then switch to a Western set meal afterwards. Although the buffet didn't have a particularly Hokkaido feel, I felt they did a good job of distinguishing themselves from the nearby "Dormy Inn Wakkanai." The background music was playing Justin Bieber, so it had a Western vibe. They had a good selection of alcoholic beverages and some nice touches. The French toast and maple pancakes were delicious. Despite being in Wakkanai, the breakfast area was almost full and bustling. It's nice to see such a lively atmosphere.

Dinner at the hotel: Sashimi was disappointing, it was dry.
