[Station] Approximately 4 minutes walk from Yodoyabashi Station [Seating] I was seated on the 3rd floor, but there was an elevator up to the 7th floor [Infection prevention measures] Alcohol available [Visit time] Around 19:30 on a weekday [Congestion status] The 3rd floor was full [Dishes] Eel (medium portion), simmered liver (small), beer [Price] 7765 yen [Personal impression] It's been over 25 years since I first visited this place... I revisited after a long time. I wanted to say "you've worked hard" to myself on that day. The Osaka-style eel (commonly known as eel rice bowl) has three price levels. The difference in price is the amount of eel, so I chose the middle option [medium portion]. I chose simmered liver because you can choose between red miso soup and simmered liver, of course I chose simmered liver. While waiting for the eel to be grilled, I had Ebisu beer and simmered liver. There are two sizes of simmered liver, so that was nice too. To be honest, I wanted to eat liver grilled as well, so it would have been nice if there was a small portion of that... (I asked, but half size was not available). The liver had no unpleasant smell and was smooth. It was cooked deliciously. When I suddenly remembered the presence of sansho pepper and sprinkled it on, this sansho pepper was incredibly delicious! The fragrance was very good. Next came the grilled eel. I've been waiting for this! (^○^) First, I tried it as it is... the skin was crispy and delicious. The sauce was the type I like, not too sweet. Ah, eel really gives you a surge of energy. As I continued to eat, I found eel inside as well. And when I sprinkled sansho pepper and tasted it, it became even more delicious. Mmm! It's easy to forget things with beer and eel, right? haha The simmered liver had a good broth, and the liver was also delicious. Ahh! Sometimes it's nice, isn't it? Thank you for the meal!

Today, I went to order a suit in the morning, so I didn't think about lunch. Since it's a custom suit shop, my wife was dressed nicely as well. We wanted a place with not much smell, so we went to the original Shibafuji, a place we often visit and love. We went up to the 3rd floor and ordered the Osaka Mamushi Sakura set, which includes delicious eel. The eel was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, sandwiched between the rice. The staff kindly divided it into two portions for us. As usual, we added an extra bowl of rice and shared it with my wife (half each, haha). Thank you for the consistently delicious meal!

I made a reservation and had the lunch set. I had tried their takeout before, but freshly grilled "mamushi" is still the best. I enjoyed it with chilled sake and snacks like bone senbei and simmered gelatin. Without much wait, I had eel roll, barrel sake, and Osaka mamushi. I was truly impressed by the over 300 years of tradition. I look forward to visiting again in winter.

I was taken to a long-established eel restaurant for lunch in the summer. Since it was lunchtime, we kept it light. Osaka Mamushi Kiku @4270. Wow, the eel here is amazing. The eel is full of flavor and there is a nice balance between the rice and the eel. The eel is crispy and the fat is light, making it incredibly delicious. The sauce is also light and doesn't overpower the eel's flavor. The eel between the rice is lightly steamed and also delicious. I changed the soup to liver soup, and the creamy liver was a great way to finish the meal. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

Founded during the Edo period, this is a unique Osaka-style eel restaurant called Osaka Mamushi (Sakura) Shiroyaki. It is a very popular eel restaurant, with customers coming in even on weekdays at lunchtime. I love the Kansai-style eel here, which is grilled perfectly crispy on the outside but still fluffy inside. The sauce is also my favorite. You must try the crispy grilled shiro-yaki as well!

During lunchtime, I called the day before to register my name (reservations are not accepted). They seated us relatively quickly, but it took 15 minutes for the eel rolls to arrive, and an additional 30 minutes for the steamed buns. We finished eating in 5 minutes. It is recommended to go with plenty of time. However, the taste is exceptional. Just a heads up.

The deliciousness is for real. While waiting for it to come out, you think about eel and also about the price. When it arrives and you open the lid, you are satisfied with the taste and also with the price. Thick eel on top of thin rice... and under that, more thick eel! In other words, about 66% of the bento box is filled with eel. No wonder it's delicious and expensive.

The shop had a nostalgic atmosphere. Since it was lunchtime on a weekday, there were many salarymen and foreign customers. I ordered eel rolls, grilled eel, and eel liver. The eel rolls were juicy and delicious. The grilled eel and eel liver were a bit too crispy for my taste. Personally, I prefer a crispy outside and fluffy inside texture, so the dryness was not to my liking. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the ambiance and the overall feel of the restaurant.

Today's highlight was here! I went to the long-established Osaka eel restaurant "Honke Shibafuji"! I was surprised to hear about "mamushi" which you don't hear about in Kanto, and thought it was just a regular eel dish, but there was even more eel inside the rice ✨ My excitement rose. The eel here is not the plump type, but the crispy type that I like, so I was very satisfied. The eel roll also had plenty of eel in it, and it was very satisfying to eat. As expected from a restaurant with over 100 years of history, it was truly outstanding.

There is a building that has been turned into a restaurant. I sat on the 3rd floor where there are only seats for about 5 groups, so it was very calm and I could eat quietly. The eel was grilled well on the outside and slightly firm. Inside, the eel was fluffy and very delicious! I recommend making a reservation before going.

I stopped by for lunch. At the entrance, there was a hostess guiding customers. She said, "We have seats available, but there is a foreign customer nearby with strong perfume. Is that okay?" I didn't mind and took my seat. I had eel for my meal, and it was delicious as always. I would definitely like to come back to this restaurant.

I made a phone reservation after listening to Gobustsuji music at 13:15 and visited for lunch. At the Ebisubashi Hina Matsuri, they also had Hina dolls displayed. It seems that the lady on the left side next to the rabbit is the landlady. I was guided to the 3rd floor. I ordered the Hina Matsuri set meal x1. - Hachiman Maki: They bring out the flavor of eel with burdock and wood buds. - U-Maki (small): It has a fluffy texture with a dashi broth. - Uzaku (small): The texture is slightly different and goes well with cucumber. - Mamushi (chrysanthemum): The skin was crispy and delicious. The eel was served in two layers.

Shiba Fuji, a famous eel restaurant that I had never had the chance to visit before. It may be a bit extravagant for a regular lunch, but once in a while, it's nice to treat yourself, right? I couldn't decide between ordering the Osaka style grilled eel or the eel roll set. I ended up ordering the eel roll set for 4925 yen, with a choice of red miso soup or eel liver soup. One thing to note is that the waiting time can be quite long here. It took about 20 minutes for the eel roll to arrive after ordering, and another 30 minutes for the grilled eel. It was clear that they were cooking everything fresh, so the anticipation was building up. As a regular office worker, I was a bit nervous if I would make it back in time during my lunch break. Finally, the eel roll arrived! The soft and flavorful eel wrapped in a delicious dashi-flavored roll was simply amazing. I was so glad I chose the eel roll set. Next, I eagerly waited for the grilled eel. When it arrived, it may not have looked as impressive visually, but the perfectly cooked eel with a balanced sauce and hidden eel underneath the rice was incredibly satisfying. If I want to aim for visual satisfaction next time, I might go for the Osaka style grilled eel alone. However, the eel roll set was also hard to resist. I'll probably be torn between the two again on my next visit. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I went to the famous eel restaurant Honten Shibafu in Kitahama, Osaka, in search of delicious grilled eel. However, I was disappointed as the quality of the eel was not up to par and I questioned why this place is considered a top restaurant. The service was also unpleasant. During the summer, I have no problem finding high-quality eel in Nagano, such as at Yamase in Matsumoto. But in the winter, I struggle to find a good eel restaurant in Osaka, causing me stress. I ordered "mamushi," which is eel grilled and served inside the rice, but the eel here was poorly grilled and soggy. I also ordered Mamushi Sakura (one whole eel and a little more) with red miso soup or eel liver sashimi, which cost around 6,000 yen.

A new year's party at a famous eel restaurant in Osaka is a great idea for eel lovers. The menu includes eightfold roll, shirayaki, liver simmered, pickled eel liver, and eel roll small dishes, as well as a choice between grilled eel on rice or eel and rice in a wooden box. I chose the grilled eel on rice. The portion size and taste were both very satisfying.

I received the famous "Osaka Mamushi" eel over rice with cherry blossoms. It was a luxurious treat to have eel on top and in between the rice. While Kansai eel is said to be crispy on the outside, it was only slightly crispy. However, it was very filling and delicious. It was even better with a sprinkle of Japanese pepper. I highly recommend it!

The general's family used to offer river fish, and this eel restaurant has been serving eel dishes for over 300 years, currently run by the 15th generation. First, eat it as it is, then add green onions, wasabi, and seaweed as toppings, and finally pour broth over the toppings for a tea-flavored rice dish. As for the companion dish, Osaka Mamushi serves traditional Osaka-style "mamushi" with eel placed between layers of rice, creating a crispy surface while maintaining a firm and fatty texture, making it very delicious.

At Yodoyabashi, I had an eel course at the original Shibatou, established 300 years ago, a popular place known for its grilled eel. Record of eating delicious "Ohtsumamushi" in Osaka. [2nd week of October 2022] Arrived at the restaurant, reserved for 3 people at 11:40. Took the elevator to the tatami room on the 4th floor. ・Shibatouryu A. Ohtsumamushi ¥5,775 with wasabi, nori, green onions, and dashi. While waiting for it to cook, had a beer... during work. This place "Honke Shibatou" is an eel restaurant where an incident from over 20 years ago during a welcome party in Osaka still sticks in memory. Back then, the boss was furious when he heard about the planned welcome party for my upcoming transfer from Tokyo to Osaka, saying "You're already doing a handover even before receiving the official assignment!" It turned into just a drinking party. Of course, we were charged for the party too! It's a funny story now, but those who know about it are no longer with the company. After a while, the "Shibatouryu Ohtsumamushi" arrived. Let's open the lid of the ohts and gaze at the plentiful "mamushi". Ate it following the three ways of eating the Shibatouryu Ohtsumamushi. ① First serving: Cut into quarters with a ladle and put it in a bowl as is. The grilled eel is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Tare sauce is not too sweet, with a bit of spiciness that I like. The rice is cooked perfectly too. ② Second serving: Topped with wasabi, green onions, and nori. Refreshing with the wasabi, especially delicious! ③ Third serving: Topped with wasabi, green onions, and nori, then pour dashi broth over it. The dashi broth is very tasty with kombu flavor. The combination of broth and eel sauce enhances the umami, making the eel even softer and more delicious. So good! And the last serving: Enjoy it your way, so I sprinkled some sansho pepper and savored the "Osaka mamushi". Absolutely delicious. Very satisfied! I will be coming to Osaka for work a few times a year, so I look forward to coming back to eat again. I'm torn between trying the "Osaka mamushi" or sticking with the "Ohtsumamushi" next time. Exciting!
