I like Toyoko Inn. The breakfast in Kitami had a lot of variety. The local specialty was probably onion salad and beef bowl with plenty of onions. It wasn't specified if it was local produce or not. The dressing also had onions in it. I stayed for multiple nights and the menu didn't change much, except the soup was tomato-flavored. I like that they have iced coffee available. It's located near the station but slightly away from the bustling area, and since there's no large public bath, it's easier to make reservations compared to other areas, so I often stay there.

I stayed at the Toyoko Inn in Kitami. There are a lot of guests staying here, probably because they are salvaging nearby. It's fully booked. Breakfast is included in the room rate - it's a simple buffet style, but it's enough before work. Last night, I ate two servings of rice at a yakiniku restaurant, so I'm still full in the morning. Bread and coffee. Toasted bread is definitely better. Alright, let's do our best! Thank you for the meal.

I stayed in Kitami and wanted to stay at a hotel I had never stayed at before. I searched on Jalan and found that there were not many options available due to it being last minute. One of the few hotels with availability was the Toyoko Inn, which is a well-known chain. After making a reservation, I saw a review by Kabo-chan about a hotel in Susukino saying "Doesn't look very delicious, huh!" and when I commented "Better than Toyoko Inn," they replied "Really?" It's often said that the breakfast at Toyoko Inn is not good, so I'm not expecting anything different in Kitami. I remember Kabo-chan saying "Worse than Comfort!" referring to the free breakfast there. Well, I'll brace myself and have breakfast anyway. The front desk staff were very kind. Until 7:30 PM, curry is free, which caught my wife's interest, but she decided against it. The breakfast is indeed not good, but I knew that beforehand, so I have no complaints. The room is small, and so is the bath. I'm not 2.5 meters tall, but I still found the bath uncomfortably small. The bath is like a torture chamber, making me look like a Picasso painting when I'm in it. A person who is 2.5 meters tall like Marbo-san would definitely not fit in there. But it might be enjoyable for Towa-san, who might even swim and do turns in it.

Weekend morning. Opened in 2004. Located in Kitami, Hokkaido. Just across the street from Kitami Station on the JR Hokkaido Sekihoku Main Line, on the side of the police station. Along the Ooyuki Odori street. A really interesting name for a street. Inside the restaurant, there is a lobby area with table seating. There is also a meeting room next to the lobby area, which can be opened up to create additional table seating. A business hotel chain restaurant. The breakfast buffet is a morning service only for guests staying at the hotel. The breakfast buffet includes tamagoyaki, meatballs, hikiji (seaweed salad), macaroni salad, pickles, crispy plum rice, white rice, gohan with five ingredients, bread, miso soup, vegetable juice, and more. When the dishes run out, they bring out saury fish and tofu. Toyoko Inn in front of Kitami Station, it's really great! Even though there were few customers, they were very attentive, replacing the dishes with smaller plates as needed. There are quite a variety of dishes available. And, and!! The meatballs have onions in them!! Wow, I've never seen that before. Don't miss it! I heard that Kitami is the number one producer of onions in Japan, so they add onions to the meatballs for commercial use. It's so delightful. A satisfying morning.

Breakfast is more on the traditional Japanese side. It might feel a bit lacking for those who prefer Western-style breakfast. ● Rice selection includes three options: white rice, mixed rice with crispy plum, and crispy plum rice. ● Side dishes include simmered hijiki seaweed, seasoned boiled egg, vermicelli salad, two types of pickles, sausages, shredded cabbage salad with two types of dressing. ● Miso soup with tofu, enoki mushrooms, bean sprouts, onions, and fried wakame seaweed. Quite a variety of ingredients included... There is no fish or meat, just sausages. It's a healthy breakfast buffet. It starts at 7 am, but they may start a little earlier. The place is quite small, so you may end up sharing a table with someone. The facilities have become more high-tech this year, with even the elevator requiring a card key to operate. I was surprised that the lights in the room wouldn't turn on until I inserted the card key. It seems like they have become more high-tech compared to when I stayed here last year. This area is full of hotels, but for some reason, I always choose this one. Thank you for the meal! ● Afterwards, there was an incident where the multi-level parking lot broke down, and I couldn't get my car out, leaving me stranded. I had to take a taxi to work, which was quite a surprising mishap!

This fishing trip was based in Kitami, with excursions to various places in eastern Hokkaido. The Toyoko Inn is a typical business hotel. The Kitami location, situated near the station, is reasonably priced and easy to use. The facilities seemed a bit dated, but overall, it was a decent hotel with satisfactory service. The breakfast was a simple buffet style, with a variety of options including rice dishes, Western and Japanese side dishes, several drinks, and good quality rice. Despite my low expectations for breakfast at a business hotel, the food was surprisingly good, with a good balance of hot and cold items. The efforts to make the most of limited kitchen space, costs, and ingredients were evident. In a competitive industry, the efforts to add value to facilities, services, and food are commendable. If local business hotels can compete with national chains, they should emphasize their local charm (pricing, service, ingredients), and aim for a niche with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
