On this day, I stayed at the "Yunokawa Kanko Hotel Shouen." It was a last-minute decision to stay here, so I quickly chose a place to stay and eat. Since I didn't have much time to decide, I opted for a hot spring inn with breakfast and dinner included. I chose this place because it also offered all-you-can-drink. After checking in and enjoying the hot spring, I headed to the dinner venue on the first floor at 7 pm. I secured a spot and started looking at the dishes as soon as I placed the "eating" card on the table. The buffet allowed me to try a variety of dishes in small portions, which was very appealing. I enjoyed a wide range of dishes within the 70-minute time limit. Of course, I also enjoyed beer and even tried a highball, which I don't usually drink outside. It was a satisfying solo party. I also had a delicious breakfast the next morning, and I was completely satisfied! I didn't expect to enjoy myself so much at this price. Personally, I will definitely come back again!

I chose the 19:00-20:10 slot for the dinner buffet, which offers a 70-minute all-you-can-eat and drink experience. The venue was spacious with plenty of seating. The highlight of the buffet was the all-you-can-drink alcohol selection, including draft beer and shochu highballs. There were also sushi and sashimi dishes, reflecting the coastal town's cuisine. While the sushi options were limited to tuna, salmon, and squid, I felt that having a few more varieties (such as shrimp or shellfish) would have been even better.

I stayed at a retro-style hotel in Yunokawa with a dinner buffet plan that included all-you-can-drink. They had Japanese sake like Suntory and highball drinks. Although I didn't see squid or crab sashimi, they did have sushi which was decent quality considering the price.

Today's breakfast was at "Yunokawa Kanko Hotel Shoen". It was a buffet style breakfast in a lively dining area with couples and families. Although I wanted to have a drink in the morning, I had to resist because I wanted to visit a store in the morning. First, I made a salad with cabbage, broccoli, corn, and ham. On my main plate, I had salmon, tuna, scrambled eggs, sausage, grilled fish, kinpira gobou, German potato, croquette, and pickles. I also had rice with grated yam, fish flakes, and seaweed. Lastly, I had miso soup. It was delicious. The large hot spring inn had good hot springs. I enjoyed the outdoor bath multiple times. The shuttle bus to Hakodate Station was also convenient. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal. "Yunokawa Kanko Hotel Shoen" 2-4-20 Yunokawa-cho, Hakodate, Hokkaido.

Today's breakfast is at "Yunokawa Kanko Hotel Shoen". It is a buffet style breakfast. First, I start with a salad. I choose broccoli, cabbage, ham, corn, and other vegetables. It looks like a salad that could be paired with alcohol, but I decide not to drink in the morning. For the main plate, I have scrambled eggs, bacon potato, grilled fish, croquette, sausage, kinpira gobou, shiokara, and mentaiko. It's like having appetizers for breakfast. I enjoy it with rice, miso soup, and pickles. The quiet hot spring inn has few guests, making it safe and peaceful. I took a dip in the hot spring about four times. Although the check-out time was earlier at 11 am, I used the shuttle bus to Hakodate Station. Thank you for your hospitality, "Yunokawa Kanko Hotel Shoen" in Hakodate, Hokkaido.

This time, I visited Hakodate with the theme of walking and hot springs rather than eating. I explored around Goryokaku and Goryokaku Park from Hakodate Station, went to the sea, and arrived at Yunokawa, passing by churches and a racecourse! I stayed at Shoyo this time, which was cheap and had a rare dinner buffet with all-you-can-drink option. With the all-you-can-drink included, I leisurely soaked in the hot springs, drank plenty, and went to bed! That's all for this trip. For dinner in Hakodate, I made sure not to overeat and focused on alcohol as the main choice. I had highballs and of course, unlimited beer! I drank while picking at sushi (´∀`) I probably had at least 10 highballs. I also had strong oolong highballs! Haha. As a final drink, I had herring soba and curry rice! I enjoyed the all-you-can-drink, had a good sleep, and maybe I'll go eat ramen nearby. In the morning, after enjoying the hot springs, I stepped on the scale (@_@) The weight I gained in Obihiro hasn't decreased, it might have even increased! For breakfast, I restrained myself to a small amount for weight loss. The taste was typical of a buffet, but I enjoyed Hakodate specialties like squid natto and squid okra. Thank you for the meal!

Today's morning meal was at Yunokawa Onsen's "Yunokawa Kanko Hotel Shoen." It was a buffet-style breakfast. I started by making a salad with broccoli, corn, and onions as the main ingredients. The dressing was provided in individual portions, and I chose the low-salt dressing. I also had scrambled eggs, sausages, croquettes, simmered vegetables, kinpira, hijiki, grilled fish, natto, seaweed, rice, and miso soup. I enjoyed a glass of delicious Hakodate milk. The breakfast wasn't extravagant in terms of ingredients or variety, but it was simply delicious. I rarely stay in large hotels, but the bath was fantastic. I ended up soaking in the bath four times - as soon as I arrived, before bed, right after waking up, and before leaving. The outdoor bath was also pleasant, especially since there weren't many other guests around. The relaxed 12:00 check-out time was appreciated by someone like me who isn't very active. Thank you for the hospitality!

In Hakodate, there is a nearby Yunokawa Onsen, which is better than the Akiu Onsen in Sendai. When I searched for a hot spring inn, I found one for 5500 yen per night with two meals included. Check-in is after 6 pm and check-out is at 9 am. Dinner is served until 7:30 pm. It's a fancy hotel where you can dash to the bath and then have dinner. The dinner is in a private room and includes all-you-can-drink, with a surprising variety of dishes like tempura, chawanmushi, tandoori chicken, and crab. I had 4 beers, some white wine, warm sake, sours, and highballs. The meal ends with a hot pot of zosui and coffee. The hot spring even has an outdoor bath. I fell asleep and woke up at 6 am to enjoy the sunrise bath and a delicious breakfast in a private room. All of this for only 5500 yen, plus a 150 yen bathing tax and a shuttle service to Hakodate Station. They must be working hard to provide such a great experience. I might stay for another night.

Blog ⇒ [Riding on the Flowing Clouds♪] Early March 2020. My first trip to Hakodate. It's a place I've always wanted to visit someday. While I also want to visit Sapporo and Otaru, I just had to visit Hakodate first. The reason being "Yunokawa Onsen". I love hot springs, so that made me even more eager to go. Also, I'm a big fan of "KAN" so... ↑"KAN"? (From the song "Ai wa Katsu") ↑What's the connection between "KAN" and Yunokawa Onsen? Well, there's a song called "Endless" where Yunokawa Onsen is mentioned in the lyrics! ♪ You and I have been fighting together at the same workplace for 15 years now ♪ By some twist of fate, we have the same last name, two men at Yunokawa Onsen ♪ Soaking in the hot spring, enjoying seafood, sitting back and sharing sake ♪ It's embarrassing but thank you, before we can say it, we're off to the karaoke room And with a private room, the classic song by Hamasho echoes endlessly in the air, matching the lyrics of "Endless". ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓ [Blog] has "Endless" available for listening!! ↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑ Since I first heard this song, I've always admired Yunokawa Onsen. It's included in the 16th album "Harukanaru Mawarimichi no Mukou de". This album was released in 2006, so I've been dreaming about it for about 15 years now. Finally, my wish came true, and I spent 3 nights and 4 days at "Yunokawa Kanko Hotel Shoen". It's a hotel from the Itoen Hotels group, known for its affordable prices. They have about 50 locations nationwide, but this is the only one in Hokkaido! I knew from past experiences that Itoen Hotels are affordable. I was surprised by the low prices when I stayed at the Itoen Hotel Annex before, but the service was just okay. However, the Itoen Hotels in Ito had a flexible approach, allowing me to enjoy hot spring hopping for free, making it perfect for a solo trip. On the other hand, what I remembered most was the flexibility of the service. The staff were working hard, especially during this time when they had to change from buffet style to individual meal servings due to COVID-19 precautions. I believe they had to make a sudden adjustment. So, there were moments when the staff were rushing around, but they all served with great effort. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised by the luxurious food offerings. The quality of the meals for the set price of a buffet was truly amazing! It may not be on par with luxury hotels, but the quality of the food for the price set for the buffet was truly impressive. Thanks to them, I had a fulfilling 4 days! I really hate COVID-19. At a venue where I had dinner in September 2018, there were more dishes that I could eat for breakfast than for dinner in buffet style. I was delighted to see the usual items like natto, onsen tamago, and yogurt. I enjoyed a hearty meal with brown rice. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On the second day of the family trip with three generations in Hakodate in September 2018, we stayed at this hotel. Although we would have preferred to stay in a nicer hotel, we have plans to stay at a luxurious auberge on the third day, so we opted for this hotel with good value for money. The price was 7150 yen per person, including breakfast and dinner. There were also Asian guests in the dining area, which was quite crowded. The buffet seemed to be trying hard, but there weren't many dishes that I really wanted to eat. However, I was happy that Asahi Dry beer was available for self-service, as well as shochu, chuhai, and sake. My mother also enjoyed three drinks and was in a good mood. Thank you for the meal.

A few years ago, I stayed at this facility. The facility was decent, and although the hot spring was not a natural flow, it was enjoyable to soak in the Yunokawa hot spring. The meals were buffet-style, and the quality was average at best. The crab was still watery. The seafood hot pot was okay, with a decent broth. But, the best part was the 3-hour all-you-can-drink alcohol service. Being able to pour your own drinks from the server was paradise for me. This place is perfect for those who enjoy drinking.

The dishes and the way they are served still lack cleanliness. The ice cream scoop container looks like a swamp. With this kind of situation, Japanese people might stop coming!

The water temperature was relatively lukewarm. The public bath was clean, but the bathroom in the room was disappointing. After taking a shower, the drain was clogged and water started to accumulate. The shower water was not hot enough. The room was a Japanese-Western style room where we could relax.

I stayed at the hotel on the last 30th of August. I chose a plan with 180 minutes of all-you-can-drink for 8,800 yen. I was a little hesitant since I was traveling alone, but I decided on this plan. The room was on the top floor with two rooms - a Japanese-style room and a bedroom. The building was old but the room had a nice view of the sea. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet style in a large hall with a raised stage-like area. There were many dishes and plates of snow crab lined up. The all-you-can-drink included beer, sake, shochu, whiskey, and soft drinks. They asked us to start dinner from 6 pm to 9 pm, so I started right at 6 pm. I picked up some appetizers and had about 5 beers and 2 highballs. The food was decently tasty. The crab had a small amount of meat, but since it was all-you-can-eat, I had 6 plates. In addition to what's shown in the photos, I also had ramen, ice cream, fruits, and more. There were many Asian guests and a lot of business travelers. In the end, I enjoyed the full 3 hours, especially with the time spent eating crab. It was great value for money. Thank you for the feast.
