There are only 3 counter seats available at this restaurant. The menu offers 2 options: choose 3 types of fried skewers for 700 yen, or 5 types for 900 yen. Rice can be refilled. This time, I had 2 pieces of pork fillet, a smelt, and the side dish was macaroni salad as usual. The pork fillet pieces are quite large, so maybe 5 types would be too much for my age. The freshly fried skewers are delicious, but there is a lot of batter on the pork fillet. Even without getting a rice refill, the portion was sufficient. Next time, I might go for pork fillet, squid, and quail eggs. Shrimp and scallops could also be good options!

I visited the store to buy some snacks for drinking. It has been about 4 years since my last visit. Last time, I ate in the dining area but it's not available now. This time, I bought "Chicken Cheese Cutlet", 2 "Smelts", "Pork Fillet Skewer", and "Shrimp Skewer". They are all delicious. The Chicken Cheese Cutlet is my favorite! I would like to come back again to buy more. Thank you for the meal!

Once again, I went to Daimaru for lunch. Even though it may be more expensive than convenience stores, there are many shops and the food looks delicious, so I sometimes feel like trying something different. There are also many varieties within each shop! On this day, I felt like having something fried, so I got a pork fillet and onion skewer (¥289) and a fluffy tofu (¥151). Let's dig in! The pork fillet and onion skewer is quite large in size and the price is a bit high. As the name suggests, it is a big skewer alternating between pork fillet and onion. The pork fillet has a firm texture with a lean and mild taste, making it easy to eat even though it is fried. Each piece of onion is crunchy and well-spaced out. Meat, onion, and tofu go really well together on skewers. The fluffy tofu is intriguing and you just have to try it. It is slightly larger and oval-shaped compared to others. It has a soft and simple flavor, perfect for those who prefer something lighter. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

2020/10 First Visit to My Home's Easy Series Before, there was a time when my family bought a mixed plate of fried skewers, but I never reviewed it. On this day, since my family was not home, I went to "Daimaru Sapporo" to find something for my evening drink. In the evening, the discounts at the deli section start. "Creative Fried Skewer Deli Kushi-Kushi Sapporo Daimaru Kushikushi" seems to be related to the neighboring "Kakiyasu". They also have an eat-in corner. I bought "Pork, Quail, Squid" for 430 yen (20% off) at the evening discount price. The squid seems to be frozen Humboldt squid with a good thickness. Quail goes well with skewers, and pork is a classic skewer item. Thinking about having "Sweet Potato Soda" at home today, I headed to the subway.

Tempura set meal with a choice of 3 types costs 700 yen. 5 types cost 900 yen. Comes with rice, miso soup, and macaroni salad with tuna and egg, which was delicious. It's nice to be able to eat freshly fried pork cutlets. The best deal might be the pork fillet. It's very filling. This time, I had 2 pork fillets and squid. My companion had pork fillet, shrimp, and squid. If you want a hearty meal, I recommend getting 3 pork fillets. A bit embarrassed to eat at the department store food court, but this is my favorite place. Eating here is much tastier than getting takeout! The rice portion is small, but you can ask for seconds. I was satisfied this time as well. I'll come back again. Maybe I'll get three pork fillets next time?

Welcome.---------- July 2019 ----------At the Daimaru underground grocery store, you can eat freshly fried food at a counter. It comes with tonkatsu sauce and Hakata grilled salt. The grilled salt is nice. The 10-piece assortment includes crunchy lotus root, fresh and mildly spicy shishito peppers, soft and sweet onions, tender and bouncy quail meat, playful mashed potatoes that are not solid, moist and chewy pork, juicy and well-chewed meatballs with onions, delicate and mild-tasting kiss fish, bouncy fish meatballs, and skewers with a fair amount of batter, like tonkatsu.

I stopped by the Hokkaido Daimaru underground "Hoppe Town" for some evening shopping. The store was crowded, and next to it was an eat-in corner for "Kushi-Kushi," a skewered tempura shop produced by Kakizan Dining. I usually go for the value set of "10 skewers for 1,000 yen" (choose two items), but this time I bought a few side dishes elsewhere. Instead, I got my favorite "skewered pork cutlet x2" as a single order to take home. When I warm it up in the oven, it regains its crispy texture and tastes delicious. The accompanying sauce is slightly sweet, which suits my taste.

It's been a while since I had a set meal of deep-fried skewers. The menu and prices have changed a lot. This is a takeout-focused deep-fried skewer shop in the basement of a department store. There are counter seats to the right of the shop, about 5 seats. The menu offers set meals A and B, where you can choose 3 skewers of your choice. The difference is that you can choose 1 or 3 side dishes. There are 11 types of skewers including shrimp, scallop, pork fillet, squid, smelt, and vegetables. There are 8 side dishes including macaroni salad, sweet and sour pork, and mixed vegetables. On this day, many side dishes were sold out, so I chose sweet and sour pork. I chose 3 pork fillet skewers. I waited for about 10 minutes while watching them fry. The pork fillet skewers were large and impressive. The batter was a bit too thick, but since they were freshly fried, the texture was crispy. The meat was surprisingly tender. I was very satisfied with this. I also had a second helping of rice. The second helping is free. The sweet and sour pork was pre-made but still delicious. For 800 yen, it felt like a good deal. While takeout is convenient, I think it's definitely tastier to eat here while the skewers are freshly fried. I will visit again. Next time, I think I'll go for 2 pork fillet skewers and 1 squid skewer to avoid getting tired of the pork fillet skewers.

During the New Year in Sapporo, my wife and I had some time off, although her breaks were scattered so we only went out when our schedules aligned. On the first day, we went bar hopping to a few places, and on the second day, it was time to head back home. We had lunch and planned our return, but since I had another day off, I decided to take my time getting back. My wife mentioned wanting to go to Daimaru, so I agreed to go with her, even though I couldn't remember the purpose of the visit. It turned out she was after "cheese," and once she achieved her goal, we headed off to visit someone, so we wouldn't be home until late. I decided to buy some snacks for drinks on the way back, and we both seemed interested in kushikatsu. There was a set of 10 skewers for 1,000 yen, which seemed like a good deal. You could also choose two additional skewers of your choice, which I found innovative. I asked if they could send the quail skewers to Otaru, but they didn't respond. I ended up adding "octopus" and "pork with leeks" to our order. We didn't end up eating them until the next day. My wife came back late the next day, so I decided to reheat the leftovers in a frying pan. I picked out the ones she didn't like and warmed up the rest. I left the quail skewers untouched, as she wouldn't eat them, and the suspicious ones were left for her to deal with. The meat with leeks was delicious, and the octopus, although small, made a good snack. The white fish was tasty, and I may have finished it all without leaving any for my wife. Overall, the food was delicious, affordable, and I would definitely buy it again if I come across it.

Daiei's side dish series! For dinner tonight, we have a variety of side dishes to make my wife's life easier (lol) Just being lazy, really~♫ I'm from Kushiro, so my husband and little one both love Kushi-katsu. Let's buy plenty. My husband will have 3 pork fillet onion skewers, my little one will have 2 quail eggs and octopus skewers, and I will have 1 skewer of lotus root. My teenage daughter will have octopus tempura. The pork fillet here is big and the onion is sweet and delicious! A lot of food! But a little bit of oil lingers in your mouth afterwards (≧∇≦) Well, if you eat this much pork katsu, it's bound to happen (lol) It's quite affordable and reasonable for Daiei. Thank you for the meal!

I had been curious about this shop for a while. I visited during lunchtime and it was empty, so I decided to go in! The eat-in space had only 5 counter seats. The menu consisted of only kushikatsu sets, with a choice of 3 or 4 skewers. You can choose your favorite skewers, and it comes with salad, rice, and miso soup. I chose 'shrimp, pork tenderloin, kisu fish, and eggplant'. The freshly fried skewers were delicious! I think this shop is mainly for takeout, so I'll try that next time! Thank you for the meal٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

Today I had a home drinking party♪ I bought some snacks from Kakiyasu, a deep-fried skewer shop in Daimaru department store basement. The Family Set comes with 8 predetermined skewers, and you can choose 2 more of your liking. The basic set includes skewers with relatively lower prices. Even so, each skewer usually costs around 130-300 yen, so getting 10 skewers for 1130 yen is a good deal♪ I chose the pricier "Pork Fillet with Onion" skewer as my extra 2 (I'm showing my frugal side, haha). It comes with sauce and Hakata salt, I wish they also included mustard. The pork fillet skewer is huge and tender, with a thick coating reminiscent of tonkatsu on a stick. It's a bit greasy for my taste though. It's quite different from Osaka-style skewer cutlets. Thanks for the meal! (^ω^)

Around noon on December 20, I selected 3 or 4 freshly fried skewers. They fried the items I chose. It came with rice, daikon salad, miso soup, lemon, natural salt, and pickles. The freshly fried skewers were crispy and delicious. Even if you order 4 items, it costs less than 800 yen. Despite being in Sapporo Station, the prices are great for the quality. The pork fillet is really tasty. The onions are sweet, and the shrimp is good too. However, there was a very disappointing aspect. There was a female staff member who was terrible. She had a really bad attitude, asking if I wanted sesame seeds on my rice but getting angry when I couldn't hear her. The atmosphere was awkward until the food arrived. I had a hard time asking for a refill of water, and when I finally did, she slammed the glass down. It's a shame because the food is delicious. I left the restaurant feeling very disappointed. I would go back if that staff member wasn't there.

In the fourth year of the Meiji era, "Kakiyasu" started as a beef hot pot restaurant in Mie Prefecture, and has been in business for over 140 years. KAKIYASU DINING is a popular takeout deli shop within the Kakiyasu Group. They have a branch in the underground section of Daimaru, a department store directly connected to Sapporo Station, called "Kushi-Kushi Sapporo Daimaru Kushi-Kushi." They offer a variety of delicious fried skewers, with over 20 different types to choose from. The prices range from 120 yen to 280 yen per skewer, with options like shrimp skewers for 199 yen and purple squid for 194 yen. They also have unique items like "fluffy tofu," "small shrimp tempura skewers," and "sheep hoof croquettes." The reviewer found the skewers to be large and satisfying, with a crispy breadcrumb coating. They particularly enjoyed the pork loin and onion cutlet skewer and the whole asparagus skewer. The reviewer also mentioned that while takeout from the deli can be a bit pricey, the large portions and quality make it worth it. They also noted that the set menu with rice, salad, miso soup, and four skewers for 799 yen is a good deal. Overall, the reviewer recommends dining in for a more satisfying experience, but takeout is convenient for enjoying at home.

I had been curious about the tempura skewer takeout shop in the Daimaru department store basement for a while. I always thought that eating freshly fried food is definitely more delicious than takeaway, so I finally decided to try this place. Despite feeling a bit out of place in the bustling department store basement, I was able to enjoy my meal in the small eat-in area with 5 counter seats. I ordered the 4-piece set instead of the 3 or 4-piece set, as the price difference was only 100 yen. I got shrimp, squid, and two pork skewers, and they were served piping hot along with salad, rice, pickles, lemon, and salt after a 10-minute wait. The 799 yen price was satisfying for what I got, and I learned that you can get a rice refill. The shrimp and squid were not as impressive as I had imagined, but the juicy and tender pork skewers were a standout. I am now convinced that eating freshly fried tempura is definitely the way to go. Next time, I will go for the pork skewer 4-piece set. It might increase the value even more!

[October 2014 Revisit] Met up with a friend living on Honshu in Sapporo, and bought some food to take back for my husband's late-night snack and breakfast. I chose shrimp and pork skewers, which cost 1130 yen including tax. Warmed them up in the toaster and they were better than supermarket deli food. Easy and convenient to eat without any extra effort. [January 2013 First Visit] Bought a 1099 yen set of skewers as a souvenir for my husband before heading back from watching a movie in Sapporo. It was my first time at this shop and I didn't know what to expect, but ended up getting a set of 8 different skewers plus 2 of my choice for 1099 yen. The set included various ingredients like onion, green pepper, quail egg, tofu something, croquette, smelt, lotus root, mini pork skewer, and I chose pork skewer and cheese and chicken skewer as my preferences. The skewers were better than supermarket deli food, especially when warmed up in the toaster. The sauce and salt provided were meant to be used according to personal preference, and the tofu skewer was particularly tasty with salt. The skewers came with disposable chopsticks from Kakiyasu Dining, which I found out was the same shop.

This is an eat-in restaurant of tempura skewers in Daimaru underground. It was my first time getting takeout, so I decided to dine in. Today, I was in the mood for "katsu" and remembered this place. It was a holiday at 6 pm, and the eat-in space was empty. I sat down by myself and leisurely enjoyed the meal. I chose shrimp, squid, pork fillet, and scallop skewers, with black rice for my meal. The skewers arrived hot and fresh, and I enjoyed them with sauce. The tempura coating was different from what I've had before, with a coarse breadcrumb texture that tended to crumble. Each skewer was large and satisfying, and after eating four, I was full. I thought about getting a second serving of rice, but the skewers were quite filling. Overall, I enjoyed the tempura skewers and may order them again next time.

I had plans to go to Sapporo Station, so I decided to have lunch there. At first, I thought about going to the restaurant area in Daimaru, but I found the balance between price and taste to be a bit off. Then I remembered this place called Kushi-Kushi and decided to give it a try. When I arrived around 11:30, they told me there was a wait for a table for 4 people, so they set up some chairs for us. I ordered a set of 4 skewers, choosing scallop, pork fillet, squid, and pumpkin. My friend chose shrimp, pork fillet, onion, and eggplant. We could choose between regular rice or black rice, and rice refills were free. They warned me that the pork fillet would take about 10 minutes. The food took a bit longer than expected, but it was freshly fried so it was decent for the price. The squid and pork fillet were good, but the pumpkin was too soft. The rice and miso soup were average. Overall, it was a decent meal for under 1000 yen at Daimaru.

In November 2013, the creative deep-fried skewer dish "Kushikushi" is from the Kakiyasu Group. Kakiyasu started as a beef hot pot restaurant in 1871, with a history of over 140 years. Now, they have various shops within the group, including a butcher shop, bento shop, and Chinese cuisine. Kushikushi is located next to Kakiyasu Dining, a small eat-in area with about 5 seats, but mainly focuses on take-out deep-fried skewer dishes. I visited this restaurant when I was at Daimaru Sapporo. The store is located on the basement floor of Daimaru Sapporo, directly connected to JR Sapporo Station in Chuo-ku, Sapporo. For the exact location, please check on Tabelog. They fry and sell skewers at the store. I bought several items including the limited-time "soft deep-fried shrimp shinjo" dish. They came with tonkatsu sauce and Hakata salt. - Pork fillet onion skewer: Actual weight 88g and 106g. It contains a large pork fillet and onion. The fillet is quite tender and has a good texture. It is fried nicely. Price: 1 skewer for 261 yen, 2 skewers for 400 yen. - Soft deep-fried shrimp shinjo: Actual weight 33g. It uses a whole shrimp with shinjo placed on top and fried on a skewer. Price: 168 yen. - Quail egg skewer: Actual weight 39g. It has 3 quail eggs on a skewer. Price: 126 yen. Being part of the Kakiyasu group, the "Pork fillet onion skewer" has a large and satisfying fillet. It's not the usual cheap pork skewer meat. It's a solid deep-fried skewer and quite delicious. The "soft deep-fried shrimp shinjo" represents the creativity of the skewer restaurant. It has a decent taste. The "quail egg" doesn't stand out in taste compared to other places. I would like to try the "Pork fillet onion skewer" again next time. I also want to try the freshly fried hot skewers in the eat-in area. It was delicious, thank you.

[Completely Non-Smoking] Located on the 1st floor underground of Daimaru Sapporo store, there is a kushiage (deep-fried skewers) restaurant called Hoppetan Un. You can order for takeout, or use the eat-in space. I often see people using the eat-in space and there is usually a line for takeout, so it seems to be quite popular. On my first visit on July 14, 2013, I noticed that the kushiage ranges from 100 to 200 yen per skewer, which is a bit pricey for me, so I usually just pass by. This time, I decided to try it out for my night shift meal and also as part of my Tabelog activity, so I got some items for takeout. I purchased 2 Kiss (121 yen each), Iwashi Ume Shiso Sand Fry (189 yen, I think), and Tori Fry (171 yen, might be the opposite with Iwashi). I bought them during the day and ate them at night, so the batter was a bit greasy, but it couldn't be helped. It was nice that the takeout comes with two types of salt, one for grilling and one for dipping, as a complimentary service. Next time, I would like to try the freshly fried skewers in the eat-in space.
