I stayed near this place during a business trip and had dinner here. This place also has a unique atmosphere that reflects the owner's worldview, typical of curry restaurants in Osaka. I visited around 7:30 pm on a weekday, and there were no customers when I arrived, but later two groups of one and two people came in. It's an easy place for solo diners to enter, with a calm and relaxing atmosphere unlike typical curry shops. The dinner curry set with two types of curry was 1,200 yen (tax included), with a choice of Butter Chicken plus one other option, and I chose the Shrimp Tomato (+50 yen). The plate came with pickles, two side dishes, dal, achar, and papad. Adding a drink (I chose chai) costs an additional 300 yen. The topping condiment set (achar + katta sambol) is an extra 180 yen, but since achar was already included, it was 100 yen for just the katta sambol. The curry was more like a traditional Indian curry rather than a creative Osaka spice curry, and the Shrimp Tomato, with its well-balanced acidity, sweetness, and spiciness, was delicious. The katta sambol, a spicy condiment with Sri Lankan bonito flakes and lime, added a unique umami flavor when mixed, creating a nice change in taste. The total cost was 1,650 yen, making it a great fit for a solo meal during a business trip. I rarely have the opportunity to come to the area south of Honmachi for work, but this neighborhood seems quite interesting.

In September, even though the lingering summer heat remains, I decided to go for some hot curry! I found a curry restaurant tucked away in a narrow alley. The atmosphere was nice, and surprisingly, it wasn't crowded at all around 12:40. I ordered a combination of two curries - Butter Chicken and Eggplant Keema. Both were delicious, with the Keema being quite spicy but in a good way. The Chicken was also very tasty. Overall, the dishes were on the spicier side. The dish in the middle was Dal (a lentil curry), and the vegetable sides were also good. The restaurant has a nice vibe and since it wasn't crowded, it might be a hidden gem.

Before being affected by the typhoon during the Obon holiday, I continued my exploration today. I appreciate that they are open for business as usual during this time. Although the location is a bit hard to find, there is a sign so it's not a problem. The entrance has a nostalgic Showa era feel, but once inside, it's like entering a different world. I went at 2 pm and there was only one other group. I ordered two types of curry, the By Mark Chicken? and the Pakchi Keema. I liked the mild spiciness and depth of flavor from the spices. It's great that you can choose from various daily specials, and the 100 yen lassi for lunch is fantastic. I definitely want to come back for a second time!

The curry is a bit spicy, so it's okay not to mix in the spicy pickles. The atmosphere is calming with a nostalgic Showa era vibe, making you feel like coming back again. The taste is a classic spiced curry, so you can eat it with peace of mind. I personally prefer the ambiance of the restaurant, with dim lighting, over anything else.

I didn't like the chai last time, so I went with a lassi this time. It was delicious. I had the keema curry with sardine and olive. I might add some more spice next time, as I like it a bit spicier. I'd like to try dinner here sometime.

While wandering around after watching a live performance at a live house in Minami-Senba, I stumbled upon a mysterious curry restaurant in a back alley. It seemed like they had renovated an old house to turn it into a restaurant (see first and second photos). As soon as I entered the shop, I felt like I had stepped back in time to the Showa era. The menu at this curry restaurant is shown in the third photo. My friend from Wakayama, Shirokujira, said, "I'll treat you to curry," and it was the coolest thing he said that day, so without thinking, I ordered the 3-curry plate and chai set. The chai that came out (fourth photo) was served with syrup in a separate container so you could adjust the sweetness, creating a gentle world. As someone who only drinks chai once a year, I thought, "Oh, this is what chai tastes like." Now, onto the main topic, the 3-curry plate (fifth photo). They were all delicious, but the keema curry was the most delicious and the one I enjoyed the most. Satisfied with the delicious curry I stumbled upon, I thought to myself that I couldn't sleep with my feet facing Wakayama. Ah, it's so delicious, it's so delicious.

Next to the Quintessa Hotel, there is a small establishment in a row house that was likely built after the war, run by a couple. We first noticed the small sign on the street and were lured in by the delicious aroma. Upon opening the sliding door, we were greeted by a wonderful scent. We ordered the Shrimp and Squid Coconut Curry from the menu. My wife ordered the Eggplant Keema, and we shared the dishes. Eating different types of curry was a great choice, as each had its own level of spiciness, flavor, and depth, allowing us to enjoy them without getting tired of the taste. We quickly finished our meal and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I visited on a Friday night. I used Google Maps to find the place, but it was dark and I missed the sign, so I passed by it once. I chose the vegetable tomato curry with two side dishes. I wasn't sure when or how to eat the side dishes, so I ended up finishing them without realizing it. The red one in the top left was too spicy, and I couldn't find the right time to mix it in. I would love to try other curries, so having three options would be great.

I wanted to go there, so I went. Skima in the drinking district of Shinsaibashi. Skima Switch. Soft. Rice cooked firm, delicious keema, and a traditional house-like interior, wonderful. However, maybe because it's in Shinsaibashi, the curry is a bit pricey. Well, can't be helped.

I had the Cheese Keema and Butter Chicken (extra spicy) for lunch at this place in Shinsaibashi while on a work trip. I almost missed it because it seemed like an old tenement building. It was a bit hard to find. Normally, I don't like Butter Chicken because it's not spicy, but they recommended it and I tried it. It was delicious. It might be because I asked for extra spice, but it was properly spicy. It was not crowded when I went, maybe because it was late, but I would like to go back again. There are so many delicious spice curry restaurants in Osaka.

On weekdays at 1pm, I visited a stylish, no-waiting, old-fashioned restaurant with a lunch menu. I ordered the "Today's Double Topping (1100 yen)" with Keema and Tuna Cheese Spinach, added a sunny-side-up egg (100 yen), extra spiciness (50 yen), and a free extra serving of rice. The Keema was rich, the spinach with olives was surprisingly light, and they paired perfectly with the sunny-side-up egg. The spiciness was just right, with a nice kick. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I went to a very hidden gem place called Bota-san where you can get two dishes for 1100 yen. I added 50 yen for extra rice. The place has a cozy atmosphere and a lot of customers despite being a hidden spot. The Veggie Coconut and Butter Chicken were both creamy and slightly spicy, very delicious. Mixing it with the lentils made it even better. I went for lunch at a late hour and unfortunately, they had run out of the pickles and two side dishes, which was a bit disappointing. There was no explanation given, so that was a shame.

I used it for lunch during the lunch break. It is a nice-looking restaurant in a narrow alley. I had the option to choose from two types of curry. The rice was delicious, the curry had an authentic taste, and the side dishes were also tasty. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

The moment I walked in, I had a feeling it was going to be good. The memories of enjoying curry in this place were etched in my mind. I ordered the Keema curry and a tuna spinach cheese combo, with extra rice and fried egg. The richness of the Keema and the sweetness of the tuna were brought out to the fullest by the turmeric rice. I finished it all in no time.

I came out of the Daimaru side exit of Shinsaibashi Station and walked for about 5 minutes. I was surprised to find a restaurant in such an unexpected place. There is a small sign outside, which is easy to miss. I arrived 10 minutes after the opening, but unfortunately all seats were taken and I had to wait for about 20 minutes. The menu on Sundays offers a choice between one type of curry or a three-curry plate (Vegetable Coconut, Fried Eggplant, Keema). I chose the three-curry plate without hesitation, along with extra cilantro, extra spiciness, and lassi. The plate came with dal curry, side dishes, and achaar. The Vegetable Coconut curry was the spiciest. I love spicy food, so the extra spiciness was the right choice for me. It was great to taste each curry separately before mixing them together. The nuts sprinkled on the rice were a nice touch. I really enjoyed the meal. Thank you very much!

The shop is located in a narrow alley, with a small signboard at the entrance. The shop, converted from an old house, has a nostalgic atmosphere. I ordered a combination of Keema and Pork curry with an additional fried egg topping. The plate had turmeric rice in the middle, with Keema and Pork curry on either side, topped with a fried egg and papad. The curry was aromatic and flavorful, and the fried egg added a nice touch. It was delicious. 7.2/10.

It's a small spice curry restaurant tucked away from the main street, a bit hard to find. You can't see inside from outside, so it takes a little courage to enter. There are electric stoves placed around, making the shop warm - which is nice during this cold season. The curry comes in two lunch options with a lassi set for 1,150 yen. The Keema curry has a good amount of spice, even though I'm not a fan of spicy food, I managed to eat it. The Tomato Vegetable curry has a strong tomato flavor. It was delicious!

Visited at 14:30. There were 2 groups of customers before us. We ordered a set of two different dishes, but we were only allowed to choose one from several options, and had to order a fixed menu item as well, which was a downside. All the dishes were safe choices, so there are honestly not many memorable items.

Today's two-flavor curry featured a base of tuna cheese and spinach. I chose the keema option. The tuna cheese and spinach base had a mild spice level with the cheese standing out, making it not too spicy. The keema had a bit of a kick to it and was delicious. I opted for extra rice, but the normal size portion was sufficient. The lassi was great as you could adjust the sweetness yourself. Thanks for the meal.

I walked from Shinsaibashi Station. It was my first visit on a weekday night. This is an old folk house restaurant tucked away in an alley. I ordered the 2-curry combo with extra servings for 1450 yen. The curries were served on a large silver plate. The Veggie Coconut Curry was spicy with a rich broth from various vegetables. The Butter Chicken was mildly spicy with a creamy buttery flavor. The rice was yellow, made from Japanese rice and large grains of barley. The side dishes included beans and potatoes, yogurt, and vegetable pickles. The orange condiment was very spicy, adding a different flavor dimension. It was very delicious. I enjoyed combining different flavors. The menu for the night included 8 types of curry ranging from 930 yen to 2-curry combo for 1250 yen. Additional toppings like boiled egg, fried egg, cilantro, and pickles were available for an extra cost. They also offered options to increase spiciness or add extra curry. They served chai, lassi, glass wine, and more.
