The other day, I went to a restaurant that was closed at night. Around 12:00, it had about 50% of the customers. I was recommended chocolate or fruit desserts, like muscat grapes or figs. In the end, I chose the Mont Blanc dessert that caught my eye. I ordered a limited edition honey lemon squash to drink. I paid 1353 yen with a card. I sat at the empty counter seat in the middle. The dessert was served in about 7 minutes. The complimentary chocolate cookie was delicious. The plate had a picture of a witch and a bat. The Mont Blanc was beautifully sliced, with a subtle chestnut flavor and a slightly sour red filling. Overall, it was delicious. The lemon squash was very sour, almost too much. I had to add two sugar cubes to make it better. I will now head towards Kitashinchi Station.

I visited "Patisserie Croix," which was selected as one of the top 100 dessert shops in the 2023 Tabelog Sweets WEST. It is located in Fukushima Ward, Osaka City, just a 5-minute walk from JR Fukushima Station. The exterior and interior have a chic atmosphere, with a spacious seating area for dining in. Here is what I tried:
- Gorgonzola Cheese Cake: It looks a bit like a quiche. When you bring the cake close to your mouth, you can smell the unique scent of gorgonzola. However, when you taste it, the cheesy flavor overpowers the scent. The combination of cream and honey flavor was also enjoyable.
- Yamayo Fruit Orchard Shine Muscat Parfait: A beautiful parfait with plenty of shine muscat grapes. It is refreshing with a perfect level of sweetness. There are also ice cream and custard in it, but one surprising element was the osmanthus jam.
- Coffee
Thank you for the delicious meal.

Located about a 4-minute walk from Fukushima Station, this shop was visited while looking for a gift to bring to a friend's house. Crochet means "crochet" in French. It was just before 5 p.m. on a weekday, and there were various cakes available. Prices included Cream Puff for 350 yen, Smooth Pudding from Nakahara Ranch for 450 yen, Lumiere for 600 yen, and Cheesecake for 460 yen. Lumiere is a specialty item, a chocolate cake for adults with milk chocolate mousse and yuzu-orange jam. Despite looking sweet, it was surprisingly light and easy to eat. The pudding was very smooth and easy to eat. The Cream Puff had the cream added after ordering. The choux pastry, which is not the soft type, was not my favorite, but the cream with plenty of vanilla beans was rich and delicious. The cheesecake was a baked type made with sour cream and cream cheese, with a moist finish that was simply delicious. With a variety of products on display, this shop makes you want to try different items. I would like to revisit if I have the opportunity.

Near Fukushima Station, along the Amidaike Street, I didn't notice it because I don't pass by during the day. I don't know what the specialty is, but my personal favorite was the seasonal tart. The fig was rich and satisfying. Figs are not too sour, and I don't really like them in cakes because the flavor tends to get lost, but whether it's the quality of the fig itself or the preparation, the fig was sweet and creamy, with a strong presence.

I visited around 5:30 PM on a regular Friday. Some cakes were close to being sold out, but there were still a variety of options available. There were no other customers, so I was able to make a smooth purchase. I tried the Lumiere Chocolat for 648 yen, which was not a simple chocolate cake but had multiple layers inside and was delicious.

I visited the popular shop "Patisserie Croche" in Fukushima on a Sunday afternoon. I bought the "Summer Mont Blanc" (570 yen) and the "Tiramisu with Kikaijima black and white sugar" (550 yen). Unfortunately, I accidentally flipped the Tiramisu in front of the fridge and couldn't take a photo. The Mont Blanc has a delicious cream that melts softly. The sweetness is also mild, and it's understandable why they named it "Summer". In addition to cakes, they also have a wide variety of baked goods and chocolates. I look forward to my next visit. Thank you for the meal.

On August 18, 2023, I tried the Prarine Pistache for ¥626 (tax included) and the NAKAHORA BOKUJO NON-FAT milk Pudding for ¥486 (tax included) at Crochet. The Prarine Pistache is a smooth milk chocolate mousse with pistachio cream and praline cream, a popular classic item at Crochet. The NAKAHORA BOKUJO NON-FAT milk Pudding is made with milk that has had the fat removed, resulting in a light and smooth pudding that retains the flavor of NAKAHORA BOKUJO's dairy. The milk used comes from healthy cows that are allowed to roam freely in the mountains of Iwate Prefecture, where NAKAHORA BOKUJO practices mountainous dairy farming.

I visited "Patisserie Crochet," a shop located in Osaka, known for its extravagant dining options. This shop was selected as one of the top 100 sweet shops in the west region by the food review site "Tabelog" for 2023. It is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from Fukushima Station on the Hanshin Main Line. The shop is situated on Amida Ike Street in the building "Plester Fukushima" on the first floor. The exterior of the shop is stylish with a brown color scheme. The interior is bright and fashionable, with seating available for dining in. The name "Crochet" comes from the French word for "crochet," reflecting the intricate and delicate nature of their pastries. The pastry chef, Tomoya Tamako, hails from Nara Prefecture and graduated from the prestigious Abeno-Tsuji Confectionery School in Osaka. He honed his skills at a renowned shop in Suita City, Osaka. Today, I tried their shortcake, which featured a moist and light cream with fluffy sponge cake and sweet and sour strawberries. I also had a refreshing iced coffee. Thank you for the delicious experience.

On July 8th (Saturday) and 9th (Sunday), the Noda-Fukushima Genki Bar 2023 Summer event will be held. Enjoy the gourmet food in Fukushima's Noda and Fukushima districts, and hop between restaurants with special bar menus to try out different places at a discount! Drink and eat your way through the Noda-Fukushima gourmet scene and have a blast this summer. I purchased a set of 5 advance tickets for 4,000 yen (on-the-day tickets are 4,500 yen) and will be exploring the Fukushima area on the 9th. The 8th stop was Patisserie Croche in Fukushima 7-chome. The message from the shop: "An authentic patisserie in Fukushima district. Our range of Western sweets, from traditional French pastries to classic desserts, can be enjoyed by a wide range of age groups." The bar-exclusive menu item I tried was the Pineapple and Mango Parfait. Advance ticket: ¥800, On-the-day ticket: ¥900. After filling up on tantanmen noodles, I decided to indulge in a parfait as a separate stomach strategy. Made with Ishigaki Island pineapple, mango from Yutsumi Farm in Kumamoto Prefecture, lemon meringue, vanilla ice cream, pineapple sauce, custard cream, and sponge cake, this parfait was a delightful treat. The meringue stick provided a crunchy texture followed by a fleeting sweetness that melted in your mouth. The ice cream was smooth, rich, and quickly melted away. As I progressed through the parfait, I reached the whipped cream area, adding a smooth sweetness to the mix. The combination of whipped cream and mango was divine. Finally, reaching the bottom layer of custard cream and sponge cake, I savored the last bite with a sense of accomplishment. As I enjoyed the parfait, I noticed customers coming in one after another to buy various sweets such as cakes, baked goods, and chocolates. This popular local shop is loved by the community. Thank you for the delicious treat. Next stop: Amarena Ricordi Cold Osaka Fukushima store.

Hello. I'm Keinsuke. Today, I would like to introduce a patisserie called "Crochet" in Fukushima. I visited this shop as the second stop on a food tour at the recent "Noda Fukushima Genki Bar" event. It's a patisserie that I've known about for a while and wanted to visit, but never got the chance to. It's a bit of a walk from Fukushima Station. The shop offers both takeout and dine-in options, but the seating is limited, so it may get crowded on weekends. This time, all the customers were bar-hopping, and even a solo male diner like me felt comfortable entering. As I looked at the showcase, I saw many different cakes. I knew that chocolate was popular and wanted to try it, but unfortunately, it wasn't part of the bar tour. I'll have to come back another time to try it.

◎Pineapple and Mango Parfait
A parfait made with mango from Kumamoto Prefecture and pineapple from Ishigaki Island. It was a splendid dessert with lemon-flavored meringue and vanilla ice cream. The cream, custard, and pineapple sauce combined to create a refreshing and summery flavor. It wasn't too big, but it was packed with flavor, making it satisfying. It was a perfect dessert for early summer in July.
<Summary>
Next time, I'll visit privately and try the chocolate cake! Thank you for the meal!

Financier made with Hateruma Island black and white sugar. The white and black sugar, rich in minerals and calcium, has a refined taste that is achieved through time and effort. While we always source the black sugar from Okinawa, this is our first time experiencing the white and black sugar.

I bought some delicious olive chocolate, but it seems they won't be selling it for a while, which is disappointing. All the chocolate cakes are tasty. This time, I also purchased a roll cake and a seasonal tart. The pineapple in the tart was very sweet and rich, while the roll cake was moist and not too sweet, which was delicious.

A popular cake shop
A friend who lives near the cake shop recommended it, so I went to get takeout on a Sunday evening. They were almost sold out, which shows how popular the cake shop is! The taste was really delicious and easy to eat. I need to be careful not to eat too much at once...

I love Crochet Bakery and this is my 5th visit. I called ahead to reserve a limited-time item I had been eyeing, the An Marron. It was the last week of the season, so I just made it in time! The An Marron is a hazelnut Joconde cake with cassis mousse, chestnut, and milk chocolate mousse. The textures were smooth and the hazelnut flavor paired perfectly with the other elements. The tangy cassis added a nice touch at the end. The balance of flavors was exceptional and the presentation was lovely. It was a delightful treat that I would love to come back for every year! They also gave me a delicious matcha pound cake as a bonus. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

On the first day of the New Year holiday, even though I have to work in the evening, I decided to satisfy my sweet tooth by going on a sweets tour in Fukushima. The first stop was a shop recommended by a friend, and then I visited another shop that I had been curious about, "Crochet -クロシェ-". The seating was limited to only the counter, but luckily there was space available. I decided to indulge in some sweets for dine-in. I ordered the Mont Blanc Amande and Gorgonzola Formage without hesitation. The Mont Blanc Amande had a smooth texture and a creamy milk chocolate base with a not-too-sour blackcurrant mousse that was juicy and flavorful. The bottom had a nutty crust that was fluffy and added a nice nutty flavor. They use chestnuts from France in this dessert. The Gorgonzola was made with a slightly unique cheese, and the staff made sure to ask if I was okay with that. I love Gorgonzola, so I was excited to try it. The cream on top was not too sweet, allowing the flavor of the cream itself to shine through. The cheesecake was dense and rich, with a strong cheese flavor that was not overpowering. It had a hint of saltiness and a subtle blue cheese taste, making it a sophisticated and delicious treat. Overall, I was very satisfied with the desserts. I also bought some sweets as souvenirs and for myself. I purchased some Canneles and cheese cookies for myself, and they were both delightful. The Canneles had a crispy outer layer and a moist, buttery inside, while the cheese cookies had a strong cheese flavor without being too sweet. I look forward to visiting this shop again to try more of their cute cakes.

The new cakes as well as the classic ones are delicious, but it seems that they put a lot of effort into the chocolate cakes in particular. It's a cake that even chocolate lovers can appreciate (^ ^) With new cakes appearing regularly, you never get tired of coming back. It's a stylish cake that is perfect for both home use and as a gift.
