On Friday, July 8th, for lunch, I visited "Udon dining KONA×MIZU×SHIO" in Minamihonmachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka, just a 3-minute walk east from Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line. It had been a while since my last visit. Upon entering the restaurant, there is a ticket machine on the right side where you purchase your meal ticket. There are table seats on the left side and counter seats at the back. As I was dining alone, I sat at the counter where I could catch a glimpse of the chef using a pressure cooker to boil the udon. I ordered the recommended dish of the day, the "Mozzarella Cheese, Shrimp, and Avocado Bukkake Udon" for 1300 yen, along with a "Udon Bread" set for 100 yen. When the dishes arrived, I was surprised by the Italian-inspired presentation. The cold udon came with mozzarella cheese, shrimp, avocado, and other toppings in a separate glass. The udon itself was incredibly delicious, with a soft and chewy texture that was just perfect. The cold bukkake broth, flavored with kombu and bonito, enhanced the overall taste. Adding the toppings to the udon made it even more delightful. It was like an Italian twist on udon, and it was simply amazing! To accompany my meal, I ordered a glass of red wine for 550 yen, which was surprisingly available at this udon restaurant. The "Udon Bread" was a special bread made using udon noodles boiled in a pressure cooker, giving it a soft and chewy texture with a rich wheat flavor. It was delicious, especially when topped with the Italian-inspired ingredients. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my dining experience at "Udon dining KONA×MIZU×SHIO." The restaurant is located at 1-2-6 Minamihonmachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka, and can be reached by walking 3 minutes east from Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line. They are open from 11:00 to 14:00, with Sundays and Mondays off. The restaurant is completely non-smoking, and there is no parking available.

<Atmosphere> It wouldn't be strange to find this restaurant in Omotesando or Ginza in Tokyo. It's a stylish place that doesn't feel like Sakaisuji Hommachi in Osaka. It's more like a pasta restaurant than an udon shop. The chef and servers are very friendly and always have lovely smiles, creating a wonderful atmosphere. <Taste> The noodles are delicious, so no matter what menu you choose, it's always tasty. They have a daily changing menu called ABC, which always keeps you excited to see what flavors you'll get to enjoy. The "Upun" bread they sell in the store is also incredibly delicious. I think if they opened a separate bread shop, it would also become very popular.

I finally went to the udon restaurant in Sakaisuji-Honmachi that I had been curious about for a long time! It's called "KONA×MIZU×SHIO". There is always a line in front of the shop during lunchtime, so I couldn't go because of the short waiting time. But finally, I tried their udon, and it was delicious! I ordered the "Black Wagyu, Eggplant, Nagaimo, Tomato Bukkake" udon. They put the ingredients in a glass and pour it over the udon. It was perfect for the still hot weather because it was cold udon. The udon is made with care by the chef. I highly recommend trying it out!

KONA×MIZU×SHIO Osaka/Sakaisuji Hommachi□Today's recommendation D: Udon with black wagyu, grated nagaimo, and deep-fried tofu (cold)□I've been curious about this udon restaurant during weekday lunchtime. There were about 2-3 groups waiting in line, so I waited a bit. The exterior and interior of the restaurant have a cafe-like atmosphere☕️ In addition to today's recommendation, there were many other menu items to choose from, but I decided to go with the recommendation. The udon here is colorful and looks amazing〜˗ˏˋ ˎˊ˗ The noodles have a firm texture similar to Sanuki udon! The udon bread made from udon was chewy and had a hint of sweetness, it was incredibly delicious♡ It was so delicious that I will definitely come back again.

Sea bream tempura with warm boiled egg on cold udon noodles for 900 yen. The udon noodles, boiled in a pressure cooker, have a unique texture with a firm bite. The sea bream tempura is truly the best. It's hard to find a better match for udon noodles than this crispy tempura. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious. 6.9

I visited during lunchtime on Saturday. I arrived around noon and was seated almost immediately. There were many recommended menu items to choose from, but I decided on the cold udon with avocado and shrimp fritters. The dish was beautifully presented with a generous amount of avocado and delicious freshly fried shrimp. As always, the unique chewiness of the noodles is addictive. It takes time to chew, so by the time I finished eating, I was pleasantly full. It was delicious as always! Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant around 1:00 PM on a regular day after hearing from my colleagues that it was delicious. I ordered the option of Tai Chikuwa Tempura Udon with a choice of Onsen Tamago (hot spring egg) or Shiitake Tempura for 900 yen. They offer cold, hot, or dipping style udon, and payment is made using a ticket machine. The exterior and interior of the restaurant look like a café. There are many menu options to choose from, which made it difficult to decide. I chose the Shiitake Tempura with cold udon. The cold broth was delicious, and the noodles were thick and incredibly chewy. They had a great texture and were quite filling. Besides the udon, I was also interested in trying their "Upang," a bread made from udon dough that has a chewy texture. Unfortunately, they were almost sold out when I visited in the afternoon. They had various filling options, including chocolate chip, sweet potato, and unsalted butter Mont Blanc. The bread was also chewy, but I couldn't purchase any this time. I would like to visit earlier next time to try their limited-time cream options.

I visited for the first time in about 6 years! Last time I came in the fall and had warm udon, similar to Osaka udon, but this time it's hot so I had something cold! It was very filling, and the small shrimp tempura bowl was delicious - the sauce was on the sweeter side! I thought I could still have some sweets, but I was already full!

Udon Set 850 yen includes udon noodles, assorted side dishes, and a daily rice dish. You can choose from hot broth, cold dipping sauce, or hot dipping sauce for the udon. The rice options are seared salmon, pickled cod roe, or chicken with yuzu pepper. I chose the chicken with yuzu pepper, and you can get a free large serving. The udon noodles have a strong chewiness, almost like a workout for your jaw. Each noodle is slightly different in thickness, giving them a homemade feel. Since you have to chew a lot, you feel full quickly. They also sell bread made with udon flour, so I bought one to try.

I ordered Tai Chikuwa Tempura, Maitake Mushroom Tempura, and Warm Udon. The Tai Chikuwa Tempura was delicious with a hint of sweetness. The Maitake Mushroom Tempura was crispy and generous in portion. The udon noodles were firm and had a satisfying chewiness. The broth was flavorful and not lacking in any way. I would like to try a different type of udon next time. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly, leaving a good impression.

I visited Konamizushio for the first time in over 3 years, as my last visit was before the pandemic. I chose the weekday limited menu which included a daily rice dish set, and I selected the grilled pork rice bowl with cold noodles. The rice was offered in a large portion for free, and it came with three side dishes which was a nice touch. The noodles were chewy and had a good texture, providing a satisfying bite. I didn't feel the need for the sesame paste, but overall, the meal was delicious. At 850 yen, I think it was a good value considering the atmosphere of the restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

Located a 5-7 minute walk from Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station is the popular udon restaurant "Udon Dining KONA×MIZU×SHIO." This place offers udon with a great chewy texture that is very satisfying to eat. Even on weekdays during lunchtime, the restaurant gets crowded with lines forming, so it's advisable to allow some extra time. The clean and open atmosphere, along with the diverse and tempting menu, adds to the charm of this place, explaining its popularity. I tried the Special Curry Udon this time. It is a luxurious dish with curry udon topped with Japanese beef, shrimp tempura, and cheese. The curry broth has a thick consistency with a balance of sweetness, spiciness, and a hint of Japanese dashi flavor, coating the udon perfectly. As time passes, the rich cheese melts into the broth, the sweet and savory Japanese beef melts in your mouth, and the crispy hot shrimp tempura absorbs the curry broth, creating a delightful texture. Each ingredient was exquisite! If you love thick noodles, you must visit this place to enjoy their delicious udon. Bon appétit!

Located in Sakaisuji Honmachi, "Udon Dining KONA×MIZU×SHIO" has a stylish and sophisticated exterior. The bright and open interior offers both table and counter seating. With a diverse menu, it can be hard to choose, so I opted for the classic Udon Set (850 yen) on my first visit. I chose the kake-atsu (udon in hot broth) and yakibuta gohan (grilled pork rice), which came with a daily side dish. The noodles were thick, soft yet firm, with an amazing chewy texture that was a new experience for me. The broth was delicious, enhanced by the fragrance of yuzu and made even more refreshing with sudachi. The grilled pork rice and three side dishes were also tasty. I also purchased the popular "U-Pan," a bread made with boiled udon that had a fantastic chewy texture. I tried the Mont Blanc butter cream (180 yen) and pistachio custard butter cream (180 yen), both of which were excellent. I look forward to trying their Italian-style udon and other bread varieties in the future.

I always lined up and had a hard time getting into this restaurant. The udon noodles have a slightly firm texture but are soft. The broth was delicious. The grilled salmon rice bowl was perfectly cooked with a sweet and tasty sauce. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly.

I became a fan after visiting once! The daily specials always look delicious, so I look forward to them every time ☺️ - Rare duck breast with yuzu and green onion udon (1200 yen): The udon where you can put duck breast in the broth and eat it to your liking. It was light and delicious. - Yuzu-scented udon with small shrimp tempura and lotus root manju (1300 yen): You can choose between hot or cold broth, and I chose hot broth. The chef's special lotus root manju was fluffy and delicious. The small shrimp tempura was freshly fried, and the yuzu aroma was strong, making it a satisfying udon dish. I will visit again when I'm in the area! Thank you for the meal.

Hello. No waiting in line because I came at a different time. Everyone here seems to be regular customers except for me. I had cold udon with shrimp tempura. The broth was incredibly delicious. The shrimp tempura was amazing. I slurped it all up. The noodles were fluffy and unique. Thank you for the meal. Well then, see you.

I was lucky enough to enter without waiting during lunchtime. I didn't have much prior knowledge, but the restaurant had an appealing atmosphere from the outside, making me want to visit someday. The recommended dishes are all over 1000 yen, so it may not be feasible for those on a tight budget to visit every day, but once a week should be manageable. Set A consists of curry udon with tempura and crispy rice on top, a delightful menu. Although it took quite a long time for the food to be served, the female staff in the dining area apologized for the delay multiple times, showing great consideration and making the wait bearable. The dish that arrived had a fragrant aroma. Additionally, they mentioned, "Sorry for the delay, so we included extra thick fried tofu as a service," which was a nice touch. Now, onto the udon. The noodles were slightly thick, and the spicy yet perfectly creamy curry sauce coated them beautifully. The noodles are boiled in a pressure cooker, resulting in a texture that I have never experienced before. They were soft yet had a firm elasticity, creating a unique and delightful texture that cannot be described simply as chewy. The tempura, thick fried tofu, watercress, and green onions were all well-balanced toppings that kept the dish interesting. Lastly, soaking the freshly fried crispy rice in the curry broth and enjoying it softened is a delightful experience that will make you glad you came. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The udon noodles at Udon Dining Kona Mizu Shio in Osaka are amazing - they are smooth and chewy. The beef and shiitake mushroom tempura is also excellent! The restaurant is located a 3-minute walk from Sakaisuji Hommachi Station. The restaurant has a rating of 3.65 on Tabelog, and lunch prices range from 1,000 yen. I visited around 1:30 PM and ordered the cold udon noodles with beef and shiitake mushrooms, as well as the mentaiko sake konbu onigiri for an additional 270 yen. The udon noodles were not as good as Ise udon, but they were still chewy and delicious - just the way I like them! I was pleasantly surprised to find such a stylish udon restaurant in Sakaisuji Hommachi. I will definitely be going back again!

Located outside Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station on the Osaka Metro, just past the Osaka Center Building 1, you will find this restaurant. They offer classic udon dishes as well as daily specials, which are always exciting to try! The daily specials are posted outside the restaurant for customers to see. Upon entering, you will first purchase a meal ticket from the vending machine. The restaurant offers counter and table seating in a clean and welcoming atmosphere, almost like a café. One recommended dish is the Creamy Bagna Cauda-style Udon with Oysters (1,300 yen). The dish is beautifully presented with a generous amount of Bagna Cauda sauce, vegetable sticks, and plump shrimp on top of the udon noodles. The hot ham-wrapped mini tomato tempura is a delightful addition. The dish includes a variety of vegetables such as corn, bell pepper, carrot, cucumber, tomato, and broccoli. Customers can enjoy dipping the vegetable sticks in the Bagna Cauda sauce as an appetizer before mixing the sautéed mushrooms on top of the udon noodles. The remaining Bagna Cauda sauce can then be poured over the dish, followed by adding the desired amount of dipping broth. The menu also offers a tempting "Hamburger Patty in Butter Cream Curry Udon" that may leave customers indecisive due to the many enticing options. The restaurant also offers a set menu that includes udon and a daily rice dish for a great value (850 yen). Additionally, customers can enjoy "Udon Bread" made from udon noodles, which can be either served alongside the udon or taken to go. The chef and staff members always greet customers with a lovely smile, making it a place customers will want to visit repeatedly.

Today's first stop is udon. I visited "Udon Dining KONA×MIZU×SHIO" in Sakaisuji Hommachi for the second time. This place is closed on Sundays, so I came on a holiday today. Bagna Cauda, Tomato Bacon Roll, Oyster Stir-Fry, Fritters. These phrases don't sound like a typical udon restaurant, but there are so many recommendations to choose from. I feel like eating meat today, so I'll go with the "Black Wagyu Sweet and Spicy Beef and Colorful Bell Pepper Oyster Stir-Fry Bukkake Udon Cold". And I saw on Instagram that they have horse sashimi today. Horse sashimi at an udon restaurant. I can't miss this opportunity. I also purchased the "Horse Sashimi Sashimi Assortment" from the ticket machine. Today, the cheerful owner and a lively girl are working. The horse sashimi arrived first. From right to left, heart, liver, loin, belly(?), and finally the neck part. I forgot what it's called. Let's dig in. The meat is rich in flavor! Truly domestic, you can taste the quality of the meat. It costs 2000 yen for 100g. They were all delicious, but I particularly liked the heart, liver, and loin. Now, onto the main udon. "Do you like spicy? Shall I bring some chili oil for you?" "Yes, please bring some. No, please do bring some!" The toppings include beef, bell pepper, paprika, carrot, onion, kaiware radish, celery, komatsuna(?), lemon, tempura crumbs, sesame, and more. I'll pour the special (?) tsuyu sauce on top. Delicious! This udon has a nice chewiness and is very easy to eat. It's loaded with high-quality meat. I'll squeeze some lemon and add chili oil for a change in flavor. Thank you for the meal. I'd love to come back if the opportunity arises.
