Nakamuraya Ryokan, a long-established inn, started as a boarding house in 1903. This year marks its 112th anniversary. The first floor of the inn serves as a resting place and dining area. I visited with my usual companion for lunch. The inn is located in the Sapporo Station area in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, on the first floor of the Green Garden Building in the government office district where the Hokkaido government and assembly are located. For the exact location, please check on Tabelog. We visited in the early afternoon on a weekday. Lunchtime ends at 2 pm, so we arrived with plenty of time. There were 2 customers before us and 3 customers after us. We sat at a table. There were 3 daily lunch specials, with 2 already sold out. I ordered the "Atsumori Soba" and my companion ordered the "Japanese Set Meal." The food arrived after a 7-minute wait. The Japanese Set Meal included sashimi, tempura, simmered dishes, grilled fish, miso soup, rice, and coffee, all for 1000 yen including tax. The Atsumori Soba set had well-cooked soba with warm dipping sauce, garnished with ingredients like radish, shiso leaves, and green onions, along with two pieces of Inari sushi and pickled ginger, all for 850 yen including tax. The lunch was popular, especially the 650 yen daily specials. The Japanese Set Meal had a homely taste, different from hotel Japanese cuisine. The Atsumori Soba was good, with tasty Inari sushi. Personally, I prefer the "Special Zaru Soba" at the nearby assembly cafeteria, but the prices here are reasonable for the location. The restroom had a historical feel and even had complimentary tissue boxes for the New Year, which we shared between the two of us. Next time, I might come earlier for the daily special lunch. It was a delicious meal, thank you.
