Upon arriving at Asahiyama Zoo, I decided to grab a bite to eat at the central cafeteria. I was surprised to find a variety of local dishes on the menu, such as Ezo deer cutlet. Among them, I ordered the Mongolian mutton fried rice bowl, which I usually find a bit challenging. I was curious to see how the authentic version would taste. The sweet sauce coating the crispy fried mutton created a unique flavor when combined with the meat. The sauce and coating themselves seemed like they would be suitable for a sweet and savory rice bowl, but they managed to mask the distinctive taste of Mongolian mutton. The texture remained the same. Thank you for the meal!

This was my first time at Asahiyama Zoo. The penguins, seals, polar bears, and other animals were all so cute. Even though I'm an older man, I still had a great time, but it was extremely hot... unbelievably so for Hokkaido. For lunch, I ate "Asahiyama zaru soba" and "Ezo deer meat croquette" at the central cafeteria in the zoo. The "Asahiyama zaru soba" had thick and chewy noodles that were almost like udon. The "Ezo deer meat croquette" didn't have any gamey taste and had a great texture, making it a delicious croquette. Thank you for the meal.

The wait was long due to the busy August season. We waited for about 15 minutes to be seated, and another 10 minutes for our food to arrive. However, unlike typical facility restaurants, the food here was delicious and satisfying! It would be better if there were more indoor seating options.

I visited Asahiyama Zoo and got hungry, so I decided to eat at the zoo's cafeteria. The interior was a bit dirty, giving off a Showa-era cafeteria vibe. I ordered a Genghis Khan rice bowl. The taste was average and the portion was small. If there aren't many other options, it's okay to stop by, but if you came all the way here, it might be better to eat at a trendy restaurant outside.

Recently, I joined a day trip to Asahikawa after seeing a bus tour on TV. Our first stop was the famous Asahiyama Zoo! We decided to have a light lunch at the Central Cafeteria located in the middle of the zoo. There were so many options, but as a tourist from outside Hokkaido, how could I resist curry rice with zangi? They warned us it would take a little time, but compared to yesterday's ramen, the food came out in a flash, within 5 minutes! The presentation may have seemed a bit sloppy, but hey, speed is key in a cafeteria. The most important thing, of course, is the taste, and I fell in love at first bite. The rich curry was top-notch and paired perfectly with the zangi and local potatoes. I underestimated the cafeteria, but I was treated to a high-quality lunch, including the cost performance!

I was feeling a bit hungry so I decided to try this place! You buy a meal ticket, place your order, and then everything else is self-service. The prices are a bit touristy, but the fried corn and potato churros were delicious and crispy. The seal pancake was also warm and topped with plenty of whipped cream and chocolate spray, making it very photogenic! It was worth ordering. Looking around, it seemed like many people were ordering ramen and the seal pancake. Even though it was quite big, it was amazing! After walking around a lot, you really work up an appetite. They even had small plates for kids to share. The staff at the dish return section were very friendly and kind, which made me happy. Thank you for the meal!

While in Hokkaido, I really wanted to see the Penguin Walk. It seems like there are more foreign languages than Japanese, perhaps because of the end of COVID-19. To warm up my frozen body, I decided to have ramen at the Asahiyama Zoo cafeteria. They have a system where you purchase a meal ticket first. I ordered the Asahiyama Shoyu Ramen for 800 yen. Water and tea are self-service. The buzzer we waited with had a seal design, which was cute. Soon enough, the buzzer went off, and I went to pick up my order. The nori with the Asahiyama Zoo and seal motif was also cute. The taste was similar to other zoo food court options, but the atmosphere and cute details made it worth recommending. Thank you for the meal!

Taste: ★★★☆☆ Portion: ★★★☆☆ Cost performance: ★★★☆☆ The food at Asahiyama Zoo seems to be overly praised and not quite right. Ultimately, it's just like a regular tourist spot restaurant with items like fried corn sticks and salt churros, which are unique but taste like they're frozen.

From Sapporo, I took a bus tour to visit Asahiyama Zoo for 3 hours, the Blue Pond illumination, and Shirohige Waterfall - a tour that covers three different locations. For lunch, we spent 3 hours at Asahiyama Zoo. I had previously tried their pancakes without much thought, but this time I decided to try their Asahiyama Ramen for 800 yen. I purchased the ramen ticket and handed it over at the counter, where I was given a remote bell. After about 3 minutes, my order was ready. I started with the soup, which was just a typical soy sauce ramen you would find at a highway rest stop. The noodles were slightly better than what you would find at a school cafeteria.

This is a cafeteria located inside Asahiyama Zoo. It gets crowded during lunchtime on days off when tourists return. However, the turnover is fast with a variety of menu items like ramen and curry. I ordered the Powdered Snow Miso Ramen, which had a cute seal face drawn on the nori. The taste was decent for a tourist spot cafeteria. If you don't have high expectations, you'll be satisfied.

The Asahiyama Zoo in Sapporo was really great, but what impressed me the most was the soba noodles here. It's not a stand-up soba place, but the soba was delicious! Maybe because it's a tourist spot, I wasn't expecting much, but the broth was really tasty! I didn't get to try stand-up soba this time, so I got to experience a little bit of Hokkaido soba vibe here. I want to go back to the zoo and this place again.

I arrived at Asahiyama Zoo after 3 o'clock, so most other shops were already closed, but this shop near the seals was empty. I had the cute Asahikawa soy sauce ramen with seaweed pattern. It was refreshing and delicious. The portion size was also good.

I had a delicious beer for lunch at Asahiyama Zoo. The weather seems to be holding up. I decided to reply to work emails from a covered outdoor area instead of a bench. I arrived early at 10:35 am, bought lunch tickets, and ordered a Sapporo Classic beer, Hokkaido croquette with beef, and pork Genghis Khan fried chicken. The food was quickly served, and I enjoyed it by the window while replying to emails. The restaurant started to get crowded as I savored my beer and snacks. Many people were ordering Asahiyama ramen. After finishing my meal, I decided to explore more animals at the zoo.

I visited the Asahiyama Zoo for sightseeing and tried the cafeteria here. I was drawn to the sign in the deer corner offering deer meat menchi-katsu, so I decided to try it along with a pancake for its cute appearance. The deer meat menchi-katsu didn't have a strong gamey taste, but it was delicious with a meaty texture.

[2022, Hokkaido Series ③] We arrived at Asahiyama Zoo~♪ It was a visit from Sapporo to Asahikawa with four close relatives. Well, it's mostly my cousin's family...no, more like the preference of the middle school daughter than the parents... (laughs) The famous Asahiyama Ramen here was reviewed as delicious by Master P from Numazu three years ago. We can't just dive into ramen right away (like hungry wolves!) so let's first enjoy the animal viewing! Penguins, giraffes, and of course, the popular polar bear family were all so cute. The baby polar bear born last December, named "Yume" (female), is growing up healthy and well, marking a successful breeding after 40 years. The zoo really brings out the child in you and is so much fun~! But, climbing up the slopes can be tough for an uncle who has passed the halfway point in life. (laughs) It's hot, we're tired, and it's about time for ramen and that other thing. Let's have a beer at "Asahiyama Zoo Chuo Shokudo"~. Cheers to our friendship~! (Mmm, so delicious~!) Alright, let's eat the ramen we came for. "Asahiyama Ramen (800 yen including tax)" is served~. Oh, it's a simple and nostalgic soy sauce ramen typical of Hokkaido. The nori with ASAHIYAMA ZOO written on it is impressive. How does it taste? The simple flavor is delicious~! I think it's meant to resemble Asahikawa soy sauce ramen, with a flavorful broth and medium-thin curly noodles that are just right. The chashu and menma are also delicious, making it a ramen with a satisfying and timeless taste. After enjoying the zoo for about five hours, let's head back to Sapporo. The most important thing is that everyone in the family seemed to have a great time. Satisfied with Asahiyama Ramen and the lovely animals. Thank you for the meal.

The second part of the Golden Week at the Asahiyama Zoo Central Cafeteria has arrived in Asahikawa. I've been there many times, but my first visit was in the old days when it wasn't so popular yet. We brought our own bento and had a meal at the picnic area. Next to us, there was a family grilling Genghis Khan (grilled lamb), and the smell was amazing. The kids were envious, and my wife, who boasts about her bento, told me to eat properly. I just wanted to drink beer and didn't care much about the food. Suddenly, there was a loud noise, and when I turned around, I saw a grandfather and his grandson on fire. The grandfather was trying to put out the fire on the grandson's clothes, and his face was getting burnt. My wife, who works in the medical field, immediately grabbed a fire extinguisher and went to help. I was moved by everyone's quick response, but I felt guilty for not acting sooner. The ambulance arrived, and the fire was out, but the grandfather's burnt face was shocking. I think the child also got burned, even though I didn't see it. It turned out that there was a gas leak from a cassette gas stove. When I got home, my wife scolded me for not contacting her and causing her to worry. It was the first time something like this had happened in over 30 years. At the fourth zoo, I asked for "fried mochi" but got "soft serve" instead. It was a bit sweet, not like the mochi I was expecting. It was delicious, and it went well with beer. After that, we only visited the polar bears. It was a lot of walking, but I felt energized.

Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido is a popular tourist spot. During my recent trip to Hokkaido, I found some cute animal-themed dishes at the "Chuo Shokudo" that children would love, so I'd like to introduce them. Chuo Shokudo is located about 5 minutes straight ahead from the front entrance of Asahiyama Zoo. It seems to be the largest restaurant in the zoo. This time, I ordered the "Animal Pancake (¥450)" and the "Asahiyama Miso Ramen (¥850)". Both are cute dishes with seal motifs. The animal pancake has a seal face in the center of the pancake, with whipped cream on the side. It was very fluffy. It's hard to eat when you're being stared at by such an adorable face, haha. The prices are quite reasonable for theme park food. The miso ramen was ordered by my boyfriend, and he said it had a pretty authentic ramen flavor. It's Hokkaido ramen, after all. The seaweed is cute. Both dishes have cute animal motifs, and the children in the restaurant seemed to be very happy and it warmed my heart. I think it's a great menu for families. The interior is also very beautiful, with animals displayed here and there, making it a fun restaurant to spend time in. So, if you visit Asahiyama Zoo, be sure to check it out.

I arrived in Asahiyama after driving through snow for 2 and a half hours from Sapporo. Snow really makes the place special! But it's extremely cold! Let's eat a lot and warm up. There are many dining options here, but they seem to offer mostly the same dishes. In the summer, they have Genghis Khan and soup curry, but in the winter, there are fewer customers. Nevertheless, the Asahikawa soy sauce ramen here is incredibly delicious. The rich and warming soup with eggy noodles. This is true Asahikawa soy sauce! The Chashu ramen and curry are for calorie replenishment against the cold! It's great that it comes with one piece of Zangi. I eat quickly as it cools down! Enjoying the first snow at Asahiyama, with penguins, seals, and polar bears... And finally, Piri is heading to the maternity ward! Will the long-awaited breeding be successful??? The day when Godmother Lala becomes a grandmother is approaching...!

I came to Asahiyama Zoo in the morning and had a great time, but before I knew it, it was lunchtime. I first entered this place to see the menu, then decided to check out other options by going down the hill towards the main gate. I saw a bakery and similar cafeterias, but ended up coming back here. I was tempted by the croissants and melon bread at the bakery, but chose the cafeteria instead. It was small, and the only options besides ramen were yakisoba. I briefly considered going up the hill towards the east gate, but decided to stay here. I ordered the Genghis Khan fried chicken bowl for 730 yen, which was delicious thanks to the pickled ginger. I also tried the sweet potato and pork sukiyaki bowl for the same price, which was easy to eat with the egg in it. The taste was as expected, nothing special. The Genghis Khan fried chicken was a bit tough to chew, so be careful. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I visited the Asahiyama Zoo Central Cafeteria. Taste: ★★★★ Service: ★★★ Atmosphere: ★★★★ Cost performance: ★★★ Drink: ★★★ I visited during my trip to Hokkaido. It's a restaurant in the center of Asahiyama Zoo. I had ramen, zangi curry, and more to fuel up. The ramen had cute seal-printed nori, which was a nice touch that kids would love. The taste was surprisingly simple yet flavorful. The curry was mild and not too spicy, which makes sense for the zoo's clientele. It's cold outside, so warm food was very enjoyable. Thank you for the meal.
