Arrived in Osaka without a reservation and unsure of the arrival time. Waited a bit at the entrance before being seated. Hadn't eaten since a quick lunch at Haneda, so ordered a salad, shrimp fry trio, and garlic rice with wagyu beef. Asked the friendly, well-built staff if the portions would be too much or not enough, and he replied with a smile, "It might feel like a party! If you're hungry, it's just right. It might be a bit much." My companion had the grilled wagyu beef with rice and miso soup set. The dishes were all delicious, with the salad coming with dressing and an extra dollop of maybe homemade mayonnaise. The shrimp fry trio was a generous serving of 7 plump shrimp, and the aroma when it arrived at the table made my appetite soar. The fried coating was perfect, allowing us to eat the whole shrimp from head to tail. The garlic rice wasn't as strong in flavor as it looked, with a nice balance of garlic and beef oil. It reminded me of the quality you'd find at a hotel teppanyaki restaurant for the finale. I'd like to come back and try the gratin or other intriguing dishes next time. They have a wine list, but I'd prefer to enjoy the food in my own style at this restaurant.

As expected from a top-rated restaurant on Tabelog! This restaurant is known for producing famous chefs, and even though I've heard of it before, this was my first visit. I went on a weekday just before 1 pm, and as I entered the restaurant in the basement of this building, everyone seemed to be in a rush, like a sudden race was about to start. So, here I was, having a solo meal at "Lodge." I ordered the Hamburger Steak set meal with dessert for 1,600 yen, but I declined the dessert so I have no idea what was served. I also made the mistake of adding a shrimp fry for 400 yen, which turned out to be tiny shrimp with bland tartar sauce and some unnecessary fried eggplant. But despite this, the main Hamburger Steak set meal was as others have written, with the demi-glace sauce being exceptionally delicious. The hamburger itself was tasty, although not extraordinary, but the demi-glace sauce truly stood out. The half-cooked egg beneath the white meat, the simmered hamburger, and the half-cooked yolk on top were like a piece of art. The white rice went well with the heavy hamburger, and surprisingly, there was also a light miso soup and a pickled plum, which complemented the meal perfectly. It seems like the set meal has a long history and is carefully thought out. The atmosphere of the restaurant exudes a sense of old-fashioned charm that has been around for decades, with attentive and elegant service. The patrons were all refined individuals, and I can only imagine that the evening crowd is even more sophisticated. I would love to come back for dinner soon and experience the elegance of Lodge at night.

Located in Shinsaibashi, "Midosuji Lodge" is a Western-style restaurant that has been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants. This was my first visit for lunch. The restaurant is close to my workplace, and I had been wanting to go for a while. The place was almost full during Sunday lunchtime. I ordered the hamburger steak with one shrimp fry and two cream croquettes as toppings. The hamburger steak was incredibly tender and juicy, with a fried egg on top that made it even more delicious. The cream croquettes had a mild flavor, and the shrimp fry was also tasty. I was happy that I could get a refill of rice. The homemade milk gelato was smooth and refreshing, and it was delicious. I would love to visit again to try out other dishes when I get the chance!

I had the hamburger steak for lunch menu. The salad was stylish and really delicious. The hamburger was hot and sizzling on the iron plate, with plenty of tomato sauce, giving it a refreshing taste. Finished with a refreshing gelato. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, a place where you can enjoy Western food. Thank you for the meal.

This is a shop that always has a line, but I visited after 2 pm so there was no wait and I was seated right away. I ordered the Hamburg lunch set for 1600 yen. The hamburger came with an egg on top and was covered with a tomato-flavored sauce. The sauce was rich yet refreshing, so I ended up pouring the leftover sauce over the rice. The fresh vegetable salad and miso soup, which had a lot of vegetable sweetness, were also included, and you could tell that everything was carefully made. Although not shown in the photos, after the meal, milk gelato and hot tea were served, which were very delicious and made for a very satisfying lunch. The atmosphere of the shop was nice, and the cost performance seems good as well. I think my mother would be happy if I took her here for lunch. Very satisfied. Thank you for the meal!!

I went there for the first time (*´꒳`*). I was happy to be able to enter without a reservation as soon as they opened on a weekday. More customers started coming in later, so it was the perfect timing. We shared Seafood Mix Fry and Hamburger Steak Pan with Soup. The Seafood Mix Fry included shrimp, oysters, scallops, conger eel, cream croquette, broccoli, and eggplant. The scallops were thick and delicious, and the cream croquette was also tasty. The tartar sauce had a crunchy texture from the onions. Under the fry, there was a mix of celery, onions, carrots, and tomato sauce. The combination of celery and tomato reminded me of fat-burning soup. There was also a small portion of pork miso soup with large vegetables at the bottom. The potage and bread were delicious. I didn't have the hamburger, but it was said to be delicious. The dessert was gelato with a strong milk flavor, which was very tasty. They also served warm tea, which was nice, but they seemed eager for us to leave as soon as we finished eating. The prices may be a bit high, but being able to get seconds in Shinsaibashi makes it worth it. Thank you for the meal!

I visited Midosuji Lodge located on the B1F of Osaka Toyota Building along Midosuji in Minamisenba 4-chome, Chuo-ku, Osaka. It is known as one of the top 100 Western-style restaurants. I decided to have lunch there and ordered the hamburger steak from the lunch menu. The meal came with hamburger, salad, rice, miso soup, and a pickled plum. The hamburger steak was delicious with a tomato sauce and a half-cooked egg hidden inside. Although I was surprised to see miso soup and a pickled plum instead of soup, they complemented the rice well. The dessert, which was ice cream, was refreshing and very tasty. I also noticed a limited edition Western-style bento box which looked appetizing, so I plan to try that next time.

After the live show, I was starving. On this day, I went to the Kyocera Dome for the once-every-four-years event, DREAMSCOMETRUEWNDERRAND2023, which I always look forward to. For dinner, I had already researched a place in the Shinsaibashi area, called Midosuji Lodge. It's located in a building below the one where Katsuie, a Western-style restaurant, has moved to. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, with friendly and approachable staff. They offer a la carte and course options, and you can even order a course without a reservation, which is convenient. For drinks, I had the Pink Grapefruit Squash and the Lett Spritz, both refreshing options on a hot day. The main dish course included appetizers, soup, bread, salad, dessert, and coffee, with prices varying depending on the main dish chosen. The appetizers included cold beef, salmon marinated, and camembert fry, each meticulously prepared and delicious. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, served with a good quality olive oil. The red king crab salad was delightful, and the bisque soup was creamy and smooth. The shrimp fry was a highlight, with a large, sweet prawn and miso in the head. The hamburger steak was recommended by the restaurant, tender and flavorful. For dessert, I had milk gelato, chocolate cake, and changed my coffee to tea. The cozy ambiance, delicious food, and long-standing reputation make this restaurant a stable choice. I'm curious about trying other dishes there. Thank you for the wonderful meal, Midosuji Lodge!

It's a bit hard to find, located in the basement of a building. Once inside, the atmosphere is great with spacious seating and sturdy tables. I ordered the Seafood Mix set meal for 2000 yen. The salad had mostly greens with a few slices of cucumber and tomato on top. I was surprised to find that the bottom was all greens, but I thought of it as a test to keep my blood sugar level. The rice is refillable, which is nice. The portions are small and elegant, so I wanted to have about 10 bowls of rice, but I restrained myself to 2, trying to act like a lady. The miso soup was delicious! The fried items were all small and easy to eat. They were light and didn't cause stomach discomfort, which is great for women. My favorite was the scallop. The tomato stew-like dish in the middle had burdock in it, and I wasn't sure if it was meant to be eaten on its own or with something else. And the side dish was a pickled plum... for this tiny portion of rice. Overall, everything was delicious, but considering the price of 2000 yen and the slightly strange composition of the set meal, I rated it 3 out of 5. The atmosphere is nice.

I tend to be very critical because I go there often for lunch. My standard is "satisfaction from frequent visits." However, today... I was satisfied! It was delicious! I always enjoy the meat tataki at this restaurant, but it was my first time trying the beef tataki.

On this day, I had some errands in Shinsaibashi and decided to have lunch at "Midosuji Lodge". I arrived at the restaurant just before the end of lunchtime at 14:30, with only one other customer there. Even though it was almost closing time, I was kindly informed about the closing time and was guided inside. I was in the mood for beef, so I ordered the Power Lunch. It was described as black wagyu sirloin steak, and I was looking forward to it. After a wait of about 7 minutes, the meal was served. In addition to the main wagyu sirloin, the set included salad, miso soup, and pickled plum. I started with the salad, which had fresh and crisp vegetables that conveyed their freshness. The main wagyu sirloin was incredibly tender and juicy, and being salt-grilled, it was delicious even when eaten as is. I felt a sense of satisfaction thinking, "Yes, this is exactly what I wanted to eat!" Soy sauce and sauce were provided on the side, with the soy sauce being refreshing and the sauce having a punchy flavor, both equally delicious. The fried garlic and horseradish added extra flavor, allowing for taste variations while enjoying the meal. Under the meat, there was a generous serving of ratatouille, which also had a gentle flavor with the vegetables being soft and well-cooked, making it delicious. Rice was available for seconds, but with the substantial amount of side dishes, I didn't need any extra rice to feel full. The miso soup was flavorful, and the pickled plum, which I hadn't had in a while, was tasty as well. It was a great lunch. The restaurant had a spacious and relaxing atmosphere, making it a very cozy place to dine. When I paid and left the restaurant, even though I had arrived at the last minute, the kitchen staff greeted me cheerfully, showing great warmth. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Located just a short walk from exit 3 of Shinsaibashi Station on the Midosuji Line and Nagahori Tsurumi Ryokuchi Line, on the northwest side of the Mido-suji street at the Shinbashi intersection in Osaka, there is a Western-style restaurant in the Toyota Building underground. This was my second visit. This time, I aimed for the weekday limited 15 servings of "Western-style bento" that I hesitated to order last time (1,600 yen) and jumped in before noon. Without even looking at the menu, I asked, "Do you still have the Western-style bento?" The staff quickly responded, "I will check." They came back soon and said, "It's okay!" I was relieved... They had just turned down customers who came in right after me, so I was just in time. The food arrived without much wait. Three small dishes were neatly arranged in a wooden box at the back of the tray, and in the front, there was rice, pickled plum, and miso soup. It was quite a spectacle. It felt like an adult's children's lunch... The dish on the right is fried food. Along with raw vegetables and potato salad, there were whole prawn fry and cream croquette, topped with plenty of tartar sauce and lemon. The prawns were slightly small, but being whole, you could enjoy the umami of the head. The dish on the left is minced cutlet. It was soaked in a tomato sauce with simmered vegetables in a ratatouille-like style, topped with cream and chopped parsley. The tomato flavor transformed the usually greasy minced cutlet into a refreshing taste. In the center, there was roast beef, garnished with arrangements similar to sashimi, and served with soy sauce, giving it a Japanese twist. The gourd-shaped bowl added a touch of Japanese style. This goes well with rice. The rice portion was a bit small, but you could get a refill here, so no problem. The miso soup was filled with diced carrots and daikon, making it very healthy. The pickled plum was a honey plum, which seemed to be their specialty. Finally, I ended with roasted green tea, feeling content. All this for 1,600 yen is a steal. It's understandable why it sells out quickly. The mountain hut-style interior with Ryohei Yanagihara's illustrations displayed creates a calming atmosphere. However, the Hawaiian BGM still feels out of place.

Today's lunch was hamburger set meal (1600 yen) for me, and shrimp fry set meal (1800 yen) for my partner. The restaurant has a calm and pleasant atmosphere. It wasn't crowded, so we could enjoy our meal leisurely. The food was delicious without any complaints, and rice was free for refill. This time, we also got watermelon for dessert. I would like to visit this place for dinner next time. Thank you for the meal.

Located just a 1-minute walk from Shinsaibashi. I've passed by this place many times before but never noticed it... It's actually in the basement of a building, towards the back. If you don't know about it, you won't be able to find it (^_^;) I came here based on a recommendation from a meetup. Name: Midosuji Lodge Nearest station: Shinsaibashi Type: Western cuisine First time visiting this place. Arrived 20 minutes before opening and no one was waiting. Just to be safe, I came early, but there was no one there... I had to wait outside in the heat for 20 minutes because the air conditioning wasn't working, it was like hell. Apparently, you can also make reservations for lunch, and those who made reservations were prioritized over me, who waited in the heat. Next time, I will definitely make a reservation in advance!!! - Hamburger steak set meal (1600 yen) - Rice (free refills) - Salad - Miso soup - Pickled plum The food arrived and the hamburger steak looked even more delicious than I expected. It may not be very filling in terms of portion, but the quality is good, so I might come back even for 1600 yen. I refrained from getting a rice refill because I planned to go to a second lunch spot, but I regret not having the pickled plum with the rice... Apparently, items marked with a red circle on the menu come with watermelon after the meal. I had watermelon for the first time in a while and it was delicious. They also served hot tea. The prices are a bit high, but I felt the service from the staff and the atmosphere of the restaurant were really nice, so maybe this is what a good service restaurant is like? I'm curious to try other items on the menu as well.

Osaka's famous Western-style restaurant located in Shinsaibashi. The main branch is in Tenri City. During weekday lunchtime, they open at 11:30, but arriving at 11:15 already resulted in a long line. It seems that dinner reservations are essential as they were fully booked. Lunch reservations may only be available on weekends and holidays. The interior decoration is glamorous like a Chinese restaurant. The Hamburg steak (1600 yen) with cream croquette topping (400 yen) is served on a hot iron plate with a half-cooked egg on top. Rice refills are free, and it comes with salad, miso soup, and for some reason, pickled plum. The Hamburg steak is small in size but has a light and airy texture with juicy meat. The sauce is quite rich, typical of Osaka, and goes well with the white rice. Despite the temptation of free rice refills, I resisted as I had plans for more Osaka lunches. The cream croquette with tartar sauce was delicious. The milk gelato for dessert had a rich flavor and was enjoyable. The service was very polite, making the stay comfortable. After only 30 minutes, it was time to move on to the next spot!

This was my first time having dinner here, although I have been for lunch many times. The interior is stylish, the service is welcoming, and the food is excellent. The freshness and deliciousness of the vegetables in particular stood out. The potatoes served as a side dish were also outstanding. Truly the pinnacle of Western cuisine in Osaka.

The restaurant "Katsui" that used to be on Nagahori Bridge has moved to Nara, so now this is the only one left. You can enjoy authentic Western cuisine here with no compromise. Dinner is affordable, but lunch is even more of a deal. On this day, I had the pork cutlet and scallop fry.

I was taken to this restaurant by a customer! I rarely have the opportunity to eat Western food at night, so I was really looking forward to it. It is located in a not very conspicuous place and feels like a hidden gem. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very adult-like. We ordered a course meal, and the appetizers were luxurious, while the seasoning of the main fish dish was mild and delicious. I also tried the recommended prawns, which were fresh and firm. Everything was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Ordered menu: Tonkatsu for 2000 yen. Located a 2-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station, this Western-style restaurant is situated in the Toyochika Meiten-gai on the basement floor of a building. The interior has a stylish, retro Showa-era atmosphere with a cozy mountain cabin feel. The tables are spacious and lined up neatly. We arrived around 12:30 on a weekday and had to wait for about 2 people, entering the restaurant after a 10-minute wait. The food was served about 10 minutes after ordering. The crispy coating of the tonkatsu was a nice golden color, absorbing the oil well. It was evenly thickly coated but some parts were peeling off. The meat was moist, tender, and had a good bite. The strong umami flavor of the meat and subtle sweetness of the fat were prominent due to the rich seasoning. The sauce was rich with a fruity sweetness and a moderate acidity that added a nice touch, making it addictive and delicious! The rice was well-cooked with a good texture and a sweet taste, making it enjoyable to have seconds. The tonkatsu was so good that we ended up getting a refill. We finished with a slightly sweet pickled plum. The salad did not come with dressing, but we could ask for some, which was a tangy French dressing that was tasty. Finally, we enjoyed a warm cup of tea to end the meal. The warm and welcoming service from the staff and the cozy atmosphere made it a comfortable and pleasant dining experience. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant opens at 11:30, located on the basement floor of the Toyota Building in the Toyochika shopping street. It's a bit hard to find, and when I arrived at 11:21, there was confusion about whether I had a reservation or not. The place is popular among older customers in their 60s and 70s. At 11:28, those with reservations were seated first. The interior of the restaurant is chic and welcoming. I ordered a Western-style bento box, which is limited to 15 servings per day. I also had a bottle of lager beer for 750 yen, which came with octopus as a side dish. The bento was served quickly, and the rice was delicious with a nice texture. The pickled plum was good, and the miso soup was decent. The croquettes and shrimp fry were tasty, served with a mild tartar sauce. By 11:45, the restaurant was full with a waiting list. The hamburger steak was cooked in a tomato-based demi-glace sauce, and the roast beef was flavorful with a soy sauce-based sauce. The set meal was priced at 1600 yen, and the total bill came to 2350 yen. Overall, the meal was delicious and satisfying.
