This was probably my 6th or 7th time ordering the Tekka Maki for 1500 yen. It's more than three times the price compared to buying it at MaxValu in the same facility, but it's more than twice as delicious. Even though it's not as tasty as the Tekka Maki from most sushi restaurants that cost 1500 yen for takeout, I still end up buying it. The location is great!

I realized it was Midsummer Day of the Ox and hurried to buy eel. Maruyama Kurasu had a large amount of eel, so I bought one grilled eel and some sushi from Rotei. I got eel pressed sushi and toro taku. The toro taku felt like it was missing something, but it was definitely much tastier than the supermarket version. The eel pressed sushi had a light and elegant taste. It was easy to eat and quite delicious as a pressed sushi. It might be something I want to eat again. It's convenient to have slightly more delicious sushi at home when you want to eat it. Thank you for the meal!

Some people might say that when it comes to sushi in Hokkaido, Sushizen is the place to go. I have never been there because it seems too fancy for me. However, one day while shopping at Maruyama Class, I came across some delicious looking takeout sushi. It seemed to be from Sushizen. I stared at it for a while, almost mesmerized. I decided to take a chance and ordered the fatty tuna. I hoped it wouldn't be a mistake. That night, my wife and I enjoyed it. It was incredibly delicious! The overall balance was perfect. The aroma of the seaweed, the vinegar in the rice, and the size of the fatty tuna were all just right! It truly lived up to Sushizen's reputation. I used to eat fatty tuna with red vinegar, but maybe it's even better with white vinegar. Or maybe it's just because it's from Sushizen! Haha. It was so tasty! I will definitely go back again. Thank you for the meal!

This is a revisit to a takeout-only restaurant located inside Maruyama Class, directly connected to the Subway Maruyama Koen Station, offering the taste of the renowned sushi restaurant "Sushizen" at a reasonable price. As usual, I visited to buy dinner for my mother. It was after a dreaded visit to the dentist, and I was feeling exhausted. I had already confirmed with my mother in the morning about what she wanted for dinner. The options were limited as my mother is not adventurous when it comes to food choices. She chose between Tsubaki no Su Roku or a selection of sushi rolls. I knew she would go for one of these options, so it was no surprise. The sushi rolls are made to order, but the Tsubaki no Su Roku was already prepared and displayed on the counter. Once I placed the order, they quickly wrapped it up and put it in a bag for me. The customer service here is impeccable, always attentive and efficient. I received the package and headed home, feeling drained. I took a photo of the unopened box before handing it to my mother. Feeling a bit lightheaded from the stress of the dentist visit, I decided to take a short nap until dinner time. I really dislike going to the dentist. The sound and smell are very stressful for me. I didn't want to go, but my back tooth was slightly sensitive. It turned out to be a minor cavity (´・ω・`) Maybe I've been eating too many sweets... After a short nap, I checked the time and it was already past 6 pm. I went to the kitchen and found the open box and an empty can of Ichiban Shibori. Did she already eat without me? I couldn't take a photo of the food inside the box! I couldn't complain as my mother casually mentioned she was hungry. I couldn't argue with her (laughs). The taste and smell of the dental work, the fillings, the anesthesia, they all lingered, making everything taste bland. So, I didn't buy food for myself this time. I didn't have my own portion, and I barely managed to upload the photos. Oh well, it's inevitable. Although I didn't eat this time, I can share my previous impressions. The sushi rolls here are perfectly rolled with a nice firmness that doesn't crumble when held but melts in your mouth. The inari sushi has a subtle yet flavorful fried tofu pouch filled with a light and fluffy sushi rice, creating a delightful combination. The sesame flavor is fragrant and delicious. My tooth is now fixed, so maybe next time I'll go buy some for myself (*´▽`*)

This is a revisit to a takeout-only restaurant located in Maruyama Class, directly connected to the Subway Maruyama Koen Station, offering the taste of the famous restaurant "Sushi Zen" at a reasonable price. In the evening, I had to go out suddenly and was looking for a light meal at Maruyama Class before leaving. When I asked my mother over the phone what she wanted to eat, she said she wanted sushi rolls. As she had already eaten the sushi rolls from Sushi Zen, I decided to go to Tsubomi-tei instead. I purchased the "Inari, Chumaki Assortment" which included inari sushi, tamagoyaki, chumaki, and hosomaki. My mother is very impatient and doesn't wait for me to take photos, so I had to quickly take a picture from the side. It was a reminder that I need to order the same item as her if I want to take photos. My mother is a free spirit, and I envy her for that. It was a day where I realized the importance of ordering the same item to take photos.

Located on the first floor of Maruyama Class is Tsubomitei, a takeout-only shop. The main store is the famous Sushizen. The main store is too high-end for me to enter, but Tsubomitei is more affordable in comparison (although it still costs a decent amount), so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the hospitality set, which included white fish, 2 pieces of medium fatty tuna, 2 pieces of lean tuna, sweet shrimp, hokkigai, scallop, sea urchin, salmon roe, shad, squid, salmon, and crab. They mentioned that there would be a 10-minute wait as they prepare everything fresh. Once I got home, I dug in. First of all, I was amazed by how delicious the sushi rice was!! The balance of vinegar in the rice was perfect. I couldn't help but be impressed. And then there's the scallop. A long time ago, I randomly walked into a conveyor belt sushi restaurant by the sea in a rural area, and their scallops were incredibly delicious. Since then, I hadn't found anything that could surpass that scallop, but this time, it was just as delicious. Now I really want to visit Sushizen, but I don't think I have the courage haha. It was a delicious meal! Thank you.

The takeout specialty store connected to Maruyama Class at the underground Maruyama Koen Station, where you can enjoy the taste of the famous restaurant "Sushi Zen" at a reasonable price. I visited again, as it hasn't been long since my last visit. I didn't have time to cook dinner today, so I decided to keep it simple and stopped by here. I needed to run some errands before heading back home, so I avoided raw items and purchased a set of Juroku Sushi for the whole family. When I got home, everyone was delighted to see it was Sushi Zen! Inside, there were inari sushi, futomaki, kanpyo maki, and oshinko maki. The rolled sushi didn't get hard even after a while. It had the perfect balance that crumbles in your mouth. The inari sushi had sesame seeds in the rice, adding a nice flavor even though it was lightly seasoned. The saltiness of the oshinko maki stood out among the mild flavors. It's definitely different from others. It was a feast! Thank you. Next time, I'll try the nigiri...!

Sushi ZEN, a famous sushi restaurant, offers reasonably priced sushi at Maruyama Class 1st floor. It is a takeout-only shop where you order at the register and the chef prepares the sushi in the back. There is no pre-made sushi handed to you. Today, after eating too much for lunch, I decided to go for a light dinner at Maruyama Class. I also bought some for my family who might come home late, so I chose rolled sushi instead of raw fish sushi. I bought three rolls for the number of people. It's a bit more expensive, but it's Sushi ZEN after all. The female staff took my order at the register, and the chef in the back rolled the sushi, handing it over at the storefront window. When I opened it at home, the three rolls of rolled sushi were neatly arranged. The ginger was carefully packed in a separate bag. This attention to detail is nice. After waiting a bit, I tried the sushi, and it was not tough at all. The perfect balance of ingredients that hold together in your mouth... delicious! It may just be rolled sushi, but it's special. I'm satisfied. The cost performance may not be the best, but with this quality, it's worth it. Next time, I'll try their hand-rolled sushi! (Maybe I'll secretly buy a portion just for myself on the way home...) Thank you for the meal.

This is my fourth time, but it's my first time buying at the store. The tax-excluded Tekkamaki is 1500 yen, and the grilled mackerel with mentaiko pressed sushi (limited time only) is 1600 yen. Looking at it again, the prices are high, but it's no surprise coming from Sushi Zen (not a compliment). However, when you eat it, the takeout sushi from a sushi restaurant is on a different level compared to supermarket or department store sushi. While I think the Tekkamaki is expensive, the mackerel pressed sushi at this price is not uncommon. The thickness of the mackerel and the richness are no different from those at promotional events. If it's from "Maruyama" in Sapporo, there must be a demand for it.

Sushi Zen is a restaurant where you can get takeout sushi. They use a lot of Hokkaido shellfish, and the cooked octopus is delicious. However, the medium fatty tuna doesn't look or taste very good, perhaps due to freezing or poor thawing. Overall, the quality is good but the cost performance is a bit lacking. It's not a place I would visit every month. I might consider revisiting when I have some extra money in my wallet. Thank you for the meal.

After a break of four years, Tabelog has undergone various system changes. Currently, it is in a state of confusion, similar to Urashima Taro, and there are many unclear points about how to review. This is my fourth review in May 2018, so I will briefly review the take-out sushi restaurant "Tsubomatei" in Sapporo, a branch of the Michelin-starred sushi restaurant "Sushizen". Previously, there were three locations including the Daimaru Sapporo store, but now only one store in Maruyama Class remains. "Tsubomatei" offers sushi from "Sushizen" at a relatively reasonable price, but it feels a bit lonely. The sushi is made to order, so there is no pre-made sushi. This means there may be a bit of a wait. I made a reservation for the Mother's Day limited edition "Kansha Chirashi" at "Tsubomatei" with a specific date and time for pick-up. When I went to pick it up, I was able to receive it right away. The "Kansha Chirashi" for Mother's Day includes ingredients such as salmon, abalone, shrimp, crab, smoked duck, thick-cut squid, tamagoyaki, black beans, kombu rolls, kinusaya, sakura denbu, and sakura mochi, all for the price of 1782 yen including tax. The "Kansha Chirashi" has a gentle and elegant flavor, perfect for showing gratitude on Mother's Day. It is luxurious, and the mini sakura mochi is adorable. Thank you for your hard work as always. It was delicious, thank you for the feast.

After a break of four years due to hospitalization, there have been various system changes on the food log. Currently, I am a bit lost as the review process seems different from before. In May 2018, I am reviewing Sushi Zen Honten, a Michelin sushi restaurant in Sapporo, and their takeout-only store called "Rantei." Previously, there were three locations including one in Daimaru Sapporo, but now only the one in Maruyama Class remains. Rantei offers Sushi Zen's sushi at a relatively reasonable price, but it feels a bit lonely without the full dining experience. The sushi is made to order, so there may be a bit of a wait. The mackerel sushi stick is made with fresh mackerel that has a delicate flavor and just the right amount of fat. The balance between the subtle sweetness of the rice and the deliciousness of the mackerel is exquisite. It's a refined taste with a satisfying texture. The large futomaki roll with eel and egg is colorful and visually appealing. Even one piece has a substantial filling. Overall, Rantei is the best takeout-only store in Sapporo, offering a taste of Sushi Zen's high-quality sushi at home for a reasonable price. It was a delicious treat.

When I went to Maruyama, I found a new building and discovered a takeout specialty store for the long-established sushi restaurant "Sushizen" in Sapporo. They offer a variety of sushi rolls and other items. One item that caught my eye was the "torotaku maki". It seems like they used to have a store in Daimaru at Sapporo Station a few years ago, but I'm not sure if it's still there. The "torotaku maki" originated from Sushizen, and I remember enjoying it at the main store a few years ago, so I decided to buy it. The item is made to order, so I had to wait for about 20 minutes. The taste is average, but the way it was rolled was a bit sloppy. There seems to be less "toro" compared to when I had it at the main store. It's a bit disappointing for a 2700 yen item. I think it's better to enjoy it at the restaurant instead of getting it as takeout.

Visited on a weekday at 7pm, located on the first floor of Maruyama Class with direct access to the subway, convenient but slightly time-consuming as they make orders upon receiving them. Found some ready-made items on the showcase and decided to try the "Unatama Futomaki" with 2 pieces for 864 yen including tax. It's quite a reasonable price for sushi, but seems to be popular among the locals. I've tried similar rolls and pressed sushi from places like "Sushizen" and "Ryotei" before, and while the taste is average, the prices are a bit on the higher side. If you're looking for a slightly better quality sushi to enjoy at home in small quantities, this place is great. Ordering takeout sushi takes time and you can't order small amounts, so this place is convenient in that sense. The taste is nothing special, but it's understandable given the nature of takeout sushi. It's better to eat at the actual restaurant in Maruyama for a more satisfying experience. When using this place, it's best to order before shopping and pick it up on your way out to avoid waiting.

The takeout specialty Ehomaki from Sushi Zen has three price levels. The most expensive Ehomaki (shrimp and shredded omelet) costs 1998 yen including tax. It includes dashi, rolled egg, fried tofu, kampyo, shiitake mushrooms, shrimp and red shredded omelet, pickled ginger, and salmon roe which adds a nice touch. It is bigger and has more ingredients compared to the first version from Susukino Naniwatei. The abundance of ingredients gives it a satisfying taste. The shrimp and shredded omelet flavor stands out. I usually only eat raw chirashi sushi, but surprisingly, I enjoyed this one. The kampyo has a surprisingly mild taste, not too sweet. The salmon roe adds a nice accent. It was tastier than I expected.

I had been thinking about buying sushi at Sushi Zen Raiten MARUYAMACLASS, but on a day when I had to work on a holiday, I decided to get takeout instead. I wanted to buy the eel futomaki, but it takes 7-8 minutes to make, so it seems better to call ahead and make a reservation. Since I didn't have much time, this time I bought the Assorted Sushi that was already prepared and available at the store. Inside, there were 2 futomaki rolls, 3 inarizushi, and 4 hosomaki rolls. The inarizushi had a sesame flavor, a crunchy texture, and a juicy sweetness. It reminded me of the fried tofu that you soak and enjoy in Donbei soup, with its juicy and sweet taste spreading in your mouth. The rice was moist and delicious. The futomaki had various fillings, some of which didn't quite blend well together, and the thin green denbu was a bit too bright in color. The hosomaki rolls had two types with new ginger and dried gourd, and the seaweed and rice were delicious. The ginger seemed to be pickled new ginger, and it unexpectedly tasted delicious. ☆☆☆ Next Episode Preview ☆☆☆ Next time, I will make a reservation by phone and try buying the eel futomaki.

I had a slightly late lunch and decided to stop by Maruyama Kura while on my way back. I was in the mood for sushi, so I splurged on a takeout from Rantei. I ordered the Toro Taku for about 3000 yen, but since it was around 3 PM, it was discounted to 2500 yen. It took about 10 minutes to prepare, so I passed the time and then picked it up. Even though it was a takeout, the packaging was impressive. I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it all, but surprisingly, I did. The aroma of shiso and sesame, the texture of pickled radish, and the freshness of the tuna were all good. However, I couldn't help but wonder if it was worth the price. Perhaps my expectations were too high. Maybe it's because it's Maruyama Kura? I wonder if the main store has a different taste. Since I don't get the chance to eat sushi often, I'm not sure when I'll be able to visit the main store, but I would like to try it someday.

Sushi Zen Teraitei MARUYAMACLASS is a takeout sushi shop operated by the industry veteran "Sushi Zen". Despite being takeout, they adjust the quantity made and make efforts to ensure that the sushi is as fresh as possible. When it comes to well-known establishments like this, there is often a tendency to have "excessive expectations" even for takeout or department store outlets, which can lead to a somewhat indifferent reaction. However, after purchasing and trying items like tuna nigiri, tekka maki, and futomaki sushi, they are indeed delicious. They seem to have considered the fact that the food may be eaten after some time has passed, as the vinegar seasoning and rice firmness are well done for takeout. The tuna may be a factor contributing to the brand value, and the price is average to decent in relation to the quality. The neatly shaped and perfectly rolled futomaki has a good balance of ingredients. In conclusion, it is a convenient takeout option that is easily accessible and worth trying. The slightly higher price can be justified as a kind of brand premium.

Sapporo, Maruyama. A branch of "Sushizen" takeout sushi specialty store "Raitei" located on the 1st floor of Maruyama Class. 'Sushizen Raitei MARUYAMACLASS store' Sushizen is a high-class sushi restaurant in Sapporo. I have used it once on a night challenge day, and it was delicious enough (laughs). This is a branch of "Raitei" where you can easily take out Sushizen's sushi at a casual price, located on the 1st floor of Maruyama Class. The sushi set ranges from 1500 to 3600 yen, and rolls can be bought for around 1000 yen, which is convenient for use. Maguro, Tekka Maki, Thick Rolls The sushi displayed as samples can be freshly made by the chef when ordered, which is nice to be able to buy freshly made sushi to take home. The fish is decent, the shari (sushi rice) is well seasoned, and both rolls and nigiri are delicious. The thick roll is really thick! (laughs) This may be a seasonal limited item. It contains two colors of sakura denbu, Datemaki, shiitake mushrooms, burdock, and kampyo, with a slightly sweet seasoning. The seaweed on the rolls is thick and delicious. It feels like you can buy sushi at a takeout-only sushi restaurant at a reasonable price. This makes it easy to use. The wrapping paper is also careful. The packaging is cute. They also have inari sushi, so it would make a great little gift. I would like to visit Raitei's main store next time.
