Visited for the first time on a weekday night in July 2022. This renowned restaurant in Nishinari, Osaka, has a history of receiving the Michelin Bib Gourmand award. Arrived at 18:30 with two groups of two customers already present. Ordered: Buta Okonomiyaki - ¥890, Ika Roll - ¥820, Draft Beer - ¥590 x2. Total: ¥2890. The okonomiyaki usually takes a while, so I debated whether to start with a beer first. I always struggle with whether to order a beer first because I always finish it before the okonomiyaki arrives. This time, I decided to order an appetizer - the roll - a bit earlier. Started with a beer and the roll arrived 6 minutes later. The roll, like a thin pancake, had simple ingredients of squid and egg. It was deliciously simple. 16 minutes after the beer, the okonomiyaki arrived. It came quicker than expected. The Buta Tamago Okonomiyaki had pork lining the outer edge, with mayo, mustard, and ketchup in the center. I spread the mayo and mustard with a spatula, then topped it with sauce, bonito flakes, and seaweed. There were three types of sauce: sweet, Worcestershire-like, and spicy. After tasting each with the roll, I found the spicy one to be my favorite. I drizzled it over the entire okonomiyaki using a spoon. The bonito flakes and seaweed were in separate compartments in one container, making it difficult to sprinkle them evenly. I ended up not using much seaweed, and I think others may have had the same issue. I wish they would provide a spoon for the seaweed. When eating the okonomiyaki, it's best to start with the pork lining on the outer edge to avoid a messy experience. Despite the lack of pork inside, the varying textures made for an enjoyable eating experience.

I visited a okonomiyaki restaurant called Kameya in Tamade, Nishinari Ward, Osaka. I happened to pass by the front of the shop and saw a line forming, so I decided to check it out. I arrived before 6 pm and waited a bit before being seated. The restaurant has two floors, and I was guided to the second floor. The menu was very simple, which I liked. I ordered the Butatama (pork okonomiyaki), Ikatama (squid okonomiyaki), and a large portion of Butasoba. Since there were no side dishes, that was all I ordered. First, the yakisoba arrived, with thick and chewy noodles that were delicious. Next was the Butatama, which had a lot of pork wrapped around the okonomiyaki. The Ikatama also had thickly cut squid generously placed on top. We could choose our own sauce, with options like thick, sweet, and spicy. The thick sauce had a bit of a kick, but the sweet sauce was the best match and very tasty. The batter was firm and had a texture similar to Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. It was a delicious meal!

After a passing shower, I felt like eating crispy and juicy pork, so I headed to "Zouya" right by Tamade Station Exit 5. I ordered the Mix Okonomiyaki for 1,220 yen. Looking back at my previous mistakes with the sauce and seaweed toppings, I reflected and managed to make it perfect today (^O^) The pork is really amazing! When you bite into it, the juiciness of the meat is addictive, it's so delicious! I got a burn from eating too eagerly, but each time I come here, I fall more in love with this addictive dish (^O^) Personal note: The Mix Okonomiyaki has lots of pork, squid, and shrimp which add a nice accent to the flavor, but because there's so much filling, the batter may not cook evenly. Next time, I'll go for a simple "Butatama" instead. The squid and shrimp have a strong and rich flavor, it might be irresistible for squid lovers. I'll definitely come back again ✧٩(ˊωˋ*)و✧

It's been a long time since I last came here. The place is as busy as ever, with a wait of three groups. It's a hot summer evening. Finally, my name is called and I enter the cool restaurant. I start with a draft beer! Of course, I order the specialty pork okonomiyaki and maybe some yakisoba. It's really crowded here, but the location is great. Both the yakisoba and pork okonomiyaki were delicious. Personally, I find it a bit strange to eat okonomiyaki and yakisoba together. Thanks for the meal.

Near Tamade Station, just as I was heading home, it started pouring rain. This was a perfect opportunity to visit "Zouya" without having to wait in line. Their simple menu includes "okonomiyaki," "yakisoba," and "rolls." I ordered the "Mix" (okonomiyaki) for 1,220 yen. The okonomiyaki arrived quickly, topped with crispy pork that I didn't remember being so crunchy. I drizzled some tangy sauce and sweet sauce on top, but forgot to spread the mayonnaise, which made the presentation less appealing. The texture of the batter varied in different areas, some being gooey while others had more cabbage. The pork was crispy and delicious, with plenty of squid and shrimp as toppings. I'll definitely come back again.

It had been a while since I last visited, but this time I went around 20:30 so I didn't have to wait. As usual, I ordered the pork roll, mixed yakisoba, and pork tamago. The first time I went, I just tried the pork tamago, but now I love the thick noodles yakisoba here. There are plenty of large ingredients, lots of pork in the tamago and roll.

I couldn't forget the okonomiyaki I had last time, so I had it again! Served with bottled beer, a mix okonomiyaki with extra mayo and spicy sauce. It seems like they didn't wrap the pork all the way to the edge this time, but instead, there was a large amount of pork on top. The soft and fluffy batter, sweet cabbage, and crispy pork on top made it incredibly delicious. The large pieces of squid were also a highlight. I wanted to try the shrimp roll if I had more room in my stomach, but it was impossible. The staff were efficient and friendly, making the dining experience even better. The restaurant is popular, with many takeout orders as soon as it opens. Thank you for the meal.

I'm not a fan of crispy pork on the surface of okonomiyaki, but the pork here was juicy and the dough was sweet, making it quite delicious. This okonomiyaki comes with mayonnaise, chili sauce, and a little ketchup on top, and you can add sauce, bonito flakes, and seaweed as much as you like afterwards. It's definitely worth waiting in line for. I'm already craving it again just thinking about it (laughs) I also tried the yakisoba, but I highly recommend the butatama!

Midway through the Golden Week holidays, I arrived before 8:00 PM. There were 4 groups waiting outside. I was seated at 8:35 PM. The first thing that caught my attention was the sauce container. Why is there no lid? Also, aside from the bonito flakes, there were chopsticks placed as if to say, "You can use these to take the seaweed." Sloppy. It took about 20 minutes for the squid roll to be served. I prefer the squid to be cooked a bit more. The squid okonomiyaki had a pork cutlet-like feel to it. Next was the okonomiyaki. Mayonnaise was served already on it without any explanation. This might be confusing for people who are not from Kansai. The pork was not mixed into the batter, but rather placed around it in a circle. This is unusual. The taste and texture were okay.

☆彡Located in Tamade, Nishinari Ward, this popular okonomiyaki restaurant has been serving delicious dishes for many years. I have only ever tried the "Buta" okonomiyaki here, but the thick pork belly cooked on the hot iron plate is so tasty. Eating the okonomiyaki with sauce really makes you appreciate the flavors. There are no counter seats, but each table has its own iron plate. It's a popular spot, so no reservations are accepted. If you're lucky enough to find a seat, it's a win. It gets busy in the evenings, especially on weekends, so it's best to go early. I visited at 4 pm and got a table - lucky me! - Okonomiyaki Buta (890 yen) - Yakisoba Mix (1,220 yen) - Super Dry Beer, large bottle (610 yen) - Heartland Beer, medium bottle (610 yen) The pork belly is arranged in an oval shape around the okonomiyaki, unlike the usual straight line pattern. Be careful when cutting the okonomiyaki so you don't lose track of the pork belly's position under the mayo and sauce. The crispy texture of the pork belly, cooked on the iron plate, is different from frying pan cooking. The heat brings out the sweetness of the fatty meat. The fluffy texture of the okonomiyaki, thanks to the steaming effect, blends perfectly with the sweetness of the cabbage. This sweetness is something you can't replicate at home. The combination of freshly cooked okonomiyaki and beer is fantastic. It's fluffy but filling. If you want to take some home, you can reserve in advance for takeout, which is convenient. But it's best enjoyed hot and fresh. Thank you for reading until the end. Your likes, saves, and follows are very encouraging. Please check out my Instagram @ginjirou.star too! Thank you!

Hello, this is Ma-kun. The pork dishes here are surprisingly delicious. The main menu consists of okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and rolls, so first-time visitors might think the menu is limited, but it's actually nice and simple. You can cheers with beer, soda, or oolong tea, and have pork rolls or mixed rolls as appetizers. Then, try the delicious yakisoba, and finish with butadama. This combination is a classic. As I mentioned earlier, the pork here is really tasty. Personally, I recommend sharing pork rolls, mixed yakisoba, and butadama between two people. I've been coming here for a long time, and I love the energetic staff and the atmosphere as well. I will definitely continue to visit in the future.

This is a popular okonomiyaki restaurant located in front of Tamade Station, which has been featured in the Michelin Bib Gourmand guide. You can enjoy three types of teppanyaki dishes wrapped in egg: okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and roll. The Mix Okonomiyaki is recommended, topped with your preferred amount of sauce, bonito flakes, and seaweed at the table. I chose the sweet sauce, and it was delicious. The Kimchi Okonomiyaki with kimchi and pork is also highly recommended. The Ebi Roll with plenty of shrimp is also delicious. I want to try the simple Butatama next time. I finally got to visit the famous okonomiyaki restaurant in Nishinari, and it was worth it! When you think of Zouya, you think of Butatama! The Butatama surrounded by huge pork belly slices is visually stunning. There are several sauces available, but I recommend the sweet one! The other sauces can be too sour or have a strong flavor, but the sweet sauce (which is not actually sweet) goes perfectly with this dish. I also enjoyed the Ikamodan and mixed yakisoba. It was delicious!

I found out that there is a delicious okonomiyaki restaurant nearby, so I visited after work around 9:00 PM. It's convenient that it's close to the station. I hurried to place my order as the last order is at 9:30 PM and the restaurant closes at 10:00 PM. This time, I ordered: - Okonomiyaki (pork and cabbage) - Yakisoba (mixed) - Lemon chu-hai The restaurant was not very crowded as it was close to closing time. The yakisoba that came out quickly had plenty of ingredients and the noodles were chewy and delicious! The okonomiyaki with finely chopped cabbage was surprisingly fluffy. It was the first time I had such a fluffy okonomiyaki!! It was at a level where I didn't need to chew! Next time, I want to take my time and enjoy it without rushing!! Thank you for the meal!!

I visited a popular okonomiyaki restaurant in Nishinari-ku, which is relatively close to Intex Osaka and easily accessible by Osaka Metro after attending an exhibition. The "Buta" okonomiyaki for 890 yen is a popular menu item at this restaurant known for its hundred famous okonomiyaki shops. While there are many high-end okonomiyaki dishes priced around 1500 yen, the Buta option is very wallet-friendly. The table seats have a teppan grill in front, where they place the freshly made okonomiyaki. The okonomiyaki is oval-shaped and served with mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup in the center, without any sauce on top, which is a unique presentation. The pork is spread evenly on the surface, grilled to a crispy texture, and as expected, the pork is very delicious. The okonomiyaki has a fluffy and creamy texture, which I personally prefer. They offer three types of sauces: sweet (not too sweet), spicy (a light Worcestershire sauce), and thick sauce. After trying different combinations, I found that mixing a bit of spicy sauce into the sweet sauce was the most delicious. Personally, I prefer a medium-spicy sauce over overly sweet sauce, so it was perfect for me. I would love to try other menu items next time. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the famous okonomiyaki restaurant called Zouya near my place. They open early from 3 pm on some days, so I went on a Sunday evening. The restaurant is located just a minute away from Tamade Station on the Osaka subway. There were already 7-8 groups of locals eating when I arrived, and I was seated on the second floor. I ordered the Butatama okonomiyaki (890 yen). After waiting for 30 minutes, the okonomiyaki was served. It was crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The combination of the sweet cabbage, savory sauce, and spicy mustard was perfect! The spiciness added a nice touch. It was incredibly delicious, worth the 30-minute wait, and I ended up skipping my other plans. I have no regrets about this okonomiyaki. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the popular Okonomiyaki restaurant, Zouya, in Nishinari, Osaka for the first time! I made a reservation for 7:00 PM and arrived at the restaurant. There are both first and second floor seating areas with tables. Although the restaurant is not very spacious, it has a good number of seats. The delicious smell of Okonomiyaki greeted me even before entering the restaurant! The dishes I ordered today were: - Mixed Yakisoba for 1,220 yen - Pork Rolls for 890 yen each x2 - Kimchi Okonomiyaki for 1,050 yen - Kimchi Okonomiyaki with mochi added for 1,340 yen - Mix Modan for 1,510 yen - Pork Okonomiyaki for 890 yen. The prices seemed a bit high compared to regular Okonomiyaki restaurants, but each dish was very large and filling! And the taste! Absolutely delicious!! It was the best Okonomiyaki I've ever had. I can see why it's so popular! There were four of us dining, and everyone left feeling very satisfied and full! Thank you for the delicious meal!

Finally made it here! A friend recommended "Zouya" and it's delicious! The yakisoba is amazing. This is something you can't find in Tokyo. What a joy! But maybe it's because I'm from Kansai. This is the ultimate comfort food! It's a taste that resonates with Kansai people. It's my first time here, but it's a classic taste that I've been eating since I was a child. I love it.

I visited the restaurant around 9pm after work, just before their last order. The place was quite busy. I ordered Buta Kaki Yakisoba, mixed bottle beers x2, and dessert for two people, which came to a total of 4,330 yen. The yakisoba had a good amount of ingredients and was satisfying, although the noodles were average. The okonomiyaki sauce with mustard was a nice touch. Both the pork and oyster in the dish were delicious, with a fluffy texture and a hint of sweetness from the cabbage. The oysters were particularly large and flavorful. I would definitely want to visit again when I'm in the area.
