About a 30-minute drive from Onuma Park is "Michi no Eki Kabu," located just across the road on the seaside. The restaurant was almost full, and I was seated by the window, with a view of the ocean on one side and shops on the other. Looking at the dishes of the previous customer, such as ramen and set meals, I could tell that everything looked delicious. I was originally thinking of ordering the tarako, but I ended up choosing the "Sashimi Set Meal for 1000 yen." Although the service was a bit slow, the wait was worth it. The set meal included turban shell, sweet shrimp, salmon, squid, raw octopus, boiled scallop, and miso soup with baby scallops. For the price, I was very satisfied with the freshness and deliciousness of the dishes. Everything was tasty, but the raw octopus sashimi was particularly impressive. It was a delightful sashimi set meal filled with the blessings of Funka Bay. Another great meal today. Thank you.

I went to Kabe for golf and to stay at the now closed Kabe Royal Hotel. Before golf, we stopped by the roadside station in Kabe for lunch. The restaurant inside the roadside station was very crowded, so we decided to try the ramen shop next to the parking lot. We ordered Kabe Ramen and sashimi set, both for 980 yen, which was very reasonable. It turned out to be a great choice! The ramen had a rich seafood broth and was very delicious, with a hint of garlic like a ramen version of pasta alle vongole. I still crave it just thinking about it. The sashimi set was also impressive with a generous amount of fresh sashimi for only 980 yen. Although Kabe is far and I don't visit often, if I ever go back, I will definitely have Kabe Ramen again!

During the lunchtime, passing through Minamichobe-cho, I saw a truck full of thick, long kombu just back from fishing. They were drying the kombu on racks, which was quite a sight to behold. As I continued on, I finally found a place to have lunch - "Karl's House". This time, my partner visited for the first time. Of course, we were here for their seafood bowl. I noticed a small building on the left side of the entrance that was open this time. Inside, there was a fish tank! When we placed our order, the owner was preparing shellfish and other seafood taken from the fish tank outside. The seafood bowl we received had different types of sashimi compared to the last time I visited. This time, we had live turban shell, flounder, tuna, live octopus, and sweet shrimp. The flounder was so fresh and had a nice firm texture! The freshness was top-notch! The live octopus was small but also very fresh. The turban shell had a nice chewy texture. I couldn't help but devour everything in silence. Even the miso soup with grated yam and kombu was delicious. The bowl may not look very big, but it actually had a lot of rice at the bottom. The rice was not vinegared, just plain white rice. Since there was quite a bit of rice, I shared some with my partner this time. It might be a bit too much for women. Despite that, the price was very reasonable. The environment that offers fresh fish and shellfish is great, and I think the cost-performance ratio is quite good. My partner was also satisfied and said it was delicious. We will definitely come back! Thank you for the meal.

This is a restaurant located diagonally across the road from the Kizakibaru Intermittent Spring Park at the Michi-no-Eki Shikabe. I stopped by for lunch during my solo car camping trip. The window seats are arranged in a circular counter, making it a comfortable atmosphere for solo female diners. It was a quiet lunchtime with no other customers around. I couldn't find the seafood mixed rice bowl that looked delicious in the reviews, so I was a bit disappointed. Instead, I ordered the Kizakibaru seafood bowl. The seafood bowl that arrived was overflowing with sashimi to the point where you couldn't see the rice! There were 7 sweet shrimp and about 7 baby scallops, among other seafood. It was my first time trying raw baby scallops, and they were incredibly sweet with the roe and liver still attached. The live clams and flounder had a crunchy texture, showcasing their freshness. While the freshness of the sweet shrimp, squid, and salmon was lacking, the baby scallops and flounder from Kizakibaru were incredibly delicious. The rice portion was equally generous, providing a satisfying meal. The miso soup with seaweed was made with root kelp, adding a crunchy texture typical of ingredients from southern Hokkaido. The Kizakibaru seafood bowl truly captures the essence of southern Hokkaido, and at a reasonable price of 1280 yen, it's a fantastic deal. Across the restaurant is the Michi-no-Eki, and within walking distance are several Kizakibaru hot spring facilities, making it a great place to relax after a meal. Now that my stomach is full, I'm off to enjoy a hot bath at the Eshima Hot Springs about 50 km away. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited this restaurant on a weekday afternoon during the Bon festival. It was a bit hard to find as there was no sign, but it's located at the end of the parking lot of the Kanketsuizan Park. The only sign I could see was for a Vietnamese miscellaneous goods store next to the connected building. However, it seemed to be quite popular as it quickly filled up after I arrived in the late morning. The interior had a bright and cozy atmosphere, similar to a café with manga lined up on the shelves. I ordered the Special Bukkake Don for 900 yen, which came with simmered clams and miso soup, making it a great deal. The Bukkake Don was loaded with a variety of seafood (mainly squid and red fish) in abundance. The famous Kajibe Ramen was also popular among customers. The women working at the restaurant were lively, friendly, and created a very pleasant atmosphere.
