On a day of heavy rain, the TV reports the occurrence of a rain band. On such days, let's raise our spirits from the morning and go out for a slightly luxurious breakfast. "Pain Calat Boulangerie Cafe," a bakery run by Chef Karato, who has won the Michelin star for 12 consecutive years. It is conveniently located near Kitahama Station, an elegant town almost directly connected. Arrive without getting wet in the rain! It is on the first floor of The Royal Park. The bread served at the French restaurant "Lumiere" is made to complement classic French cuisine by reducing the salt content to 0.8%. Unlike Japanese pastries, bread in France is eaten with sauce or to refresh the mouth, so salt is reduced and carefully fermented. The salt used is 100% mineral-rich Japanese seawater. They use fresh vegetables and fruits directly from the farm, organic wheat, and domestic wheat, aiming to use ingredients that are kind to the body and correct, enhancing the taste of the ingredients. The store is small, so there are not many bread varieties, but there are a few high-quality meal breads. Breakfast Vegetable Plate 1210 yen Soup Vegetable Plate Sunny Lettuce Pumpkin Lotus Root Red Radish Snow Peas Sweet Potato Paprika Eggplant Zucchini Shiitake Mini Tomato Poached Egg (soft-boiled egg) Sausage Assorted Bread 2 types Ginger Soda 330 yen Breakfast bread is slightly more expensive if you choose it yourself. It was an assortment of 2 types, but it was very delicious in the end! Hard bread filled with dried figs and nuts, and focaccia with tomato and basil. Whether they reheated it or it was freshly baked, it was delicious and chewy. It goes well with the generous vegetable plate! The homemade dressing is also delicious. The seating, whether at the table or counter, feels a bit cramped, but it's no problem for a quick breakfast. It may not have an elegant atmosphere, but you can enjoy a stylish breakfast and feel urban. Above all, the bread is more delicious than imagined! All the bread displayed at the storefront looks very delicious, with hard bread being the main focus. Chef Karato is amazing. On this rainy day, I resisted the temptation to take out, but I felt like trying all the bread. I would like to visit "Lumiere" someday. Kitahama is definitely a city friendly to businesswomen. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a popular bakery in Kitahama, Osaka for the first time! I arrived on a Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock and was able to enter the shop immediately without waiting in line. The shop is located in an office district and has a sophisticated atmosphere. I purchased a Kouign-Amann, which had a dense texture and a mild sweetness. It was delicious!

When I visited in the evening on the weekend, there were already very few options left. The Mont Blanc and Chocolate Baguette for 310 yen including tax is better when lightly toasted than eaten as is. The aroma of the wheat comes through and the chocolate inside melts and tastes delicious! The baguette is so tasty that the bread might be delicious too. By the way, it's next to the hotel so there were tourists from overseas, so it might sell out quickly. It might be better to go early when you visit.

This day, I had a schedule where I was sure to miss meals, so I grabbed a sandwich to go along with my morning routine. ⚫︎ The ham and egg sandwich from Ooyama Ham was very filling and perfect for lunch. It was simple with just ham and egg, which I liked a lot! I would definitely want to have it again. ⚫︎ The spinach and bacon sandwich had a bit too much butter for my taste. I had it for dinner, and it would also be a good match for drinks as a French-style light snack.

This time, I chose my bread carefully! But it was so filling that I could only eat one piece... As expected, I was stuffed after eating the quiche (lol). There were many other breads that caught my eye, so I bought some to take home! We lined up around 11 AM on Sunday (behind 2 other groups) and waited for about 30 minutes. After us, many more people lined up, so it's probably best to be prepared to wait for about an hour. The seating is limited to 1 hour.

Located in Kita-Hama, Osaka, "Pancalato (Boulangerie Cafe)" is a bakery that has been gaining quite a reputation lately. It is even mentioned in the list of top 100 bakeries. The front of the store displays delicious-looking bread, while the back has a cozy cafe space with table and counter seating. The only downside is the slightly high prices. During a holiday afternoon visit around 3 pm, the store was quite crowded. I purchased the "Pain Durable" which is a fruit bread terrine-style. It was flavorful with a mix of dried fruits and nuts, moist yet dense. The bottom crust was like a pie crust, giving it a unique taste. Overall, the taste was good despite the high prices. The staff was polite and helpful, which added to the positive experience. Although some may find it a bit pricey, the overall rating is 3.7 out of 5. If you happen to be in Kita-Hama, Osaka, this bakery cafe is worth a visit.

I went around 12 o'clock and had a morning set. I'm not a big fan of vegetables, but I was amazed at how delicious they were. I left the choice of bread up to the chef, and both were hard breads but delicious. Surprisingly, I got quite full.

I visited the cafe around 11 am for a late breakfast. I ordered a set with just one bread, wondering if it would be enough. I chose an original bread called "Lumiere" from the 20 or so delicious-looking breads in the showcase. The set that arrived had a plate full of vegetables, each cooked differently to maximize the natural deliciousness of each vegetable! The main bread had a rich and satisfying volume with a chocolate cake with strawberries inside. It was so delicious that it seemed to surpass the excitement of the salad! It was a breakfast that even people conscious of diet and health could eat every day, and I envied the people living nearby. I would like to visit again when I am nearby.

Carato Bakery. It was lunchtime and the shop was full. I wanted to have a morning set with lots of vegetables, but I didn't have time to wait, so I just bought some bread that day. Whole wheat focaccia 260 yen Dried tomato & rosemary focaccia 360 yen Pandouble 440 yen Praline 390 yen Lumiere 390 yen Pain au chocolat 370 yen Each one was carefully made and you could tell by the shape and taste. Truly amazing. I didn't buy any hard bread this time due to some circumstances, but I will come back for the hard types next time. I also want to try eating in next time.

The morning set available at Royal Park Canvas on the 1st floor of Kitahama Station from 8:00 to 14:00 is a must-try. The visually appealing plate goes without saying, but the highlight is definitely the bread. I had the Corn & Fig and Walnut bread (I prefer hard bread) and it was a great choice. It was a lucky pick as it was a hit. Being part of the Lumiere group, the bread and soup were served warm, which was a nice touch.

This popular restaurant serves breakfast until 2pm! I arrived at 13:56 just in time. The colorful farm-fresh morning plate seemed like a great way to reset my usual lack of vegetables, and it was only 1100 yen! With a cafe au lait, it came to 1400 yen. The main plate, soup, bread, and tea were all delicious. Thank you for the meal!

☆ Vegetable-rich Morning Set (2 pieces of bread) ☆ 3.8 Drink Set This bakery cafe is run by Chef Tatsuro Karatani, the owner of the French Michelin-starred restaurant "Lumiere," which has won stars for 12 consecutive years. The bakery is supervised by Chef Ryuzo Abe, a master of bread from "Parigo." Our head baker, Chef Kazunori Watanabe, has won the top prize in bread competitions in Japan and placed second in world competitions, striving to create delicious and healthy bread. The morning set, available until 2 p.m., has received high praise from the media. I arrived at 12:45 on a weekday and had to wait as the fourth person in line outside. After about 10 minutes, I entered the shop. I ordered the vegetable-rich morning set I had been curious about. Many other customers were ordering the staff's choice of 2 types of bread (you don't know which bread you'll get for each piece), but I chose to order 2 specific breads: "Praline" and "Vegetable Gourmet Bread with Sweet Potatoes, Pumpkins, and Walnuts." The dishes were served beautifully and healthily! Time to dig in. Delicious! The colorful vegetables from the farm were healthy and delightful. The "Vegetable Gourmet Bread" was chewy and quite tasty. The standout was the "Praline," with a croissant dough rich in wheat aroma that paired perfectly with the chocolate. The set also included soup and a drink. I've had breakfast at luxury hotels and the best in the world, but in terms of cost-effectiveness and overall experience, this was the best breakfast of my life. It's a blissful breakfast worth coming back for. I will definitely revisit and try different breads or sandwiches next time. Thank you for the meal.

The egg sandwich here is truly delicious! I used to buy this egg sandwich for breakfast before going on a trip, and this time I decided to stop by again. Recently, it has been featured on TV, so the place was packed from the morning. Luckily, they still had the egg sandwich available for takeout. The taste of the egg itself is great, and it goes well with the ham. The seasoning is just right, not too salty. You can tell they really care about the ingredients they use. I will definitely go back again!

The bakery, known for its popular morning service until 14:00, is always crowded during lunchtime, possibly due to being praised by a famous chef on TV. Personally, I find the morning service to be "okay." However, the bread here is truly delicious! My favorites are the pain au chocolat, lemon bread, and pistachio almond bread!

When I went, it was already past 12 o'clock so I had lunch, but they serve breakfast until 2 pm so I decided to have breakfast instead. I love having this much food in the morning! Other places usually have smaller portions which leave me feeling unsatisfied. It's cheaper though, haha. This plate is mainly vegetables, but you can choose a sandwich or bread. This time, I chose the Ooyama chicken and egg sandwich! The sandwich was big and satisfying! It also came with soup and a small fruit tea, so I was pleasantly surprised. They open at 8 am, but it seems to get crowded around that time, so I recommend going a bit later like I did. They are open until 9 pm, so definitely check them out! ☺️

Today's introduction is the "Vegetable-packed Morning" at Pain KARATO Boulangerie Cafe in Osaka. You can order from 8:00 in the morning until 2:00 in the afternoon. The morning menu is very popular, and you can also enjoy it for lunch. The Vegetable-packed Morning includes a plate full of vegetables, with the option to choose different types of bread. I chose the staff-recommended bread set with two types of bread. The main plate was colorful and filled with various vegetables like eggplant, zucchini, potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, lotus root, mini tomatoes, lettuce, and paprika. The bread, including corn focaccia and dried tomato bread, was delicious. The meal also came with soup and tea. Overall, it was a satisfying and highly recommended experience.

It's been a while since my last visit ☕️ You can also purchase body-friendly bread made with Hokkaido flour, vegetable butter and vegetable syrup (yacon syrup) without dairy products. The morning and lunch sets are very popular, often filling up soon after opening. You can choose from various items in the showcase for the Morning Set with 1 or 2 breads or a sandwich. The Morning Set with 2 breads includes: Whole wheat focaccia with homemade dried tomatoes and rosemary, Kinako (soybean flour) and walnut paste, a plate full of farm-fresh vegetables, strawberry and raspberry tea, vegetable soup, and a drink (can be added for an additional 300 yen ☕️). The plate full of vegetables is so satisfying and delicious, it's a joy to look at. It's sweet and tasty, with eggs and sausages for a full meal. The whole wheat focaccia is chewy and large, with a rich tomato and rosemary flavor. The homemade dried tomato paste is packed with kinako and walnut paste, which is absolutely amazing ❤️ Both breads have great textures and flavors! They are so delicious and uplifting that I would love to visit again if it's nearby. Thank you for the wonderful meal! ✨

Visited around 3:00 PM on June 27th. The café was quite empty, probably because it was a weekday. I chose a croissant, pudding, canelé, and quiche. They all had delicious flavors focusing on the basics, but the quiche with onions and potatoes had a more eggy taste than I expected, which I personally enjoyed. The pudding was made with dragon eggs, and the creamy top layer was delicious. I heard they offer pudding and soft serve ice cream sets, as well as breakfast sets, so I would like to try them out sometime.
