I love Ippudo ramen and have been craving tonkotsu ramen for about two weeks now. On my birthday, I decided to go eat what I wanted most, which led me to Shiromaru Base. I went up the stairs next to HEP, bought a ticket at the entrance ticket machine, and hesitated between Akamaru Base, but ultimately chose the basic Shiromaru Base. Of course, I chose firm noodles. It was around 1 pm on Saturday, so I waited about 5 minutes, but the turnover was fast, so I was seated quickly. The interior of the restaurant was not very spacious, and the second floor space had counter seats. I poured my own tea and waited while watching the staff work hard to make the ramen. The long-awaited ramen arrived without much wait. Despite having been to various ramen shops, this chain store with multiple locations offers consistently delicious ramen. The thin and firm noodles were exactly what I was looking for. The soup was rich and paired perfectly with the noodles, and the chashu was tender and delicious. I finished it in no time. If I had known about the birthday coupon through an app, I could have eaten more affordably, but I was satisfied with the delicious birthday ramen even without the coupon. I will definitely go back for more.

I visited Shiromaru-Base on a weekday night, which costs 950 yen. I had heard that this place used to be a rival of Ichiran Ramen, but I wonder if they have merged now? According to my iPhone map, it showed that they were closed, but they were actually open. The interior was stylish with black and red tones, and it was quite spacious inside. I wanted to compare it to the American Ichiran, so I ordered the Shiromaru this time. While waiting, I enjoyed some spicy bean sprouts on the table, and my ramen arrived in just 3 minutes. The flavor was surprisingly light, maybe even lighter than the American version. There were minced onions hidden in the soup. Despite ordering the Shiromaru, it wasn't very spicy. It tasted like a very ordinary light tonkotsu ramen. The hospitality of the staff was excellent. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I had some business in Umeda and decided to visit this restaurant again, where I had a delicious meal last time. I arrived a little after 11 o'clock and about half of the seats were already taken. From the menu, I ordered the No.2 popular special with a shiromaru base! The seating was only available at the counter, and it felt like they were filling up the seats from the back. The taste was a rich tonkotsu soup without any unique smell, and it was delicious! The noodles were very thin and paired well with the rich soup. The chashu was also very tender and tasty, and the seasoned egg had a subtle flavor that complemented the soup well. Next time, I might try the akamaru as well. Thank you for the meal!

Having lunch in Umeda. Visited Shiromaru Base for the first time. It's said to be a second brand of Ippudo, located on the second floor of Ippudo Umeda store (with a separate entrance). Bought a ticket for Akamaru Base Special at the ticket machine. It's been so long since I had Ippudo ramen, maybe over 10 years. The soup was smooth with a rich pork bone flavor without the usual pork smell. It had a hint of fragrant oil and spicy miso, reminiscent of the red circle in my memory of Ippudo, but it's been so long that I can't tell the difference from the regular Ippudo haha. The noodles were the classic straight thin noodles. The toppings included chashu, green onions, seasoned egg, and seaweed. A good ramen to finish off after drinking. Thank you for the meal.

Located right in the middle of Umeda, next to HEP. Orders are placed through a touch panel with a clear, large screen for easy selection. I ordered the classic Shiro Maru base, as it had been a while since my last visit. It was a relatively light tonkotsu broth with thin noodles, and I opted for a smaller portion size. The extra noodle refill was just enough to finish. Expect lines during lunch hours. They accept electronic payments.

It's been a while since I had this taste! It's been a few years since I last visited Ichiran! I wanted to eat the white noodles, but it seems like I mistakenly ordered the red noodles special! I thought they only had the white noodles from the name of the restaurant (^_^;) The sauce of the red noodles special was a bit strong, but it was delicious! Next time, I will make sure to order the white noodles without any mistakes!

Shiromaru base is said to be delicious, so I lined up at the Ippudo on the first floor. However, I noticed that the address was slightly different and moved to a small door a few meters north. It was a bit risky. When I went up to the second floor, there was a ticket machine. It's a style where you buy a ticket from the machine before sitting down. There was also a female staff member, making it a relaxed atmosphere. I ordered one piece of gyoza. While waiting at the fashionable counter, the Shiromaru base ramen arrived in about five minutes. I haven't had regular Ippudo ramen recently, but this ramen is delicious! It's a classic among classics. When you're in the mood for tonkotsu ramen, you can't go wrong with this. I should try the regular Ippudo next time.

Shiromaru base. But what I ordered was Akamaru base. I had lunch at the second floor of Ippudo near Umeda Station. I ordered the popular No.1 Akamaru base with a side of gyoza and rice. You can choose the firmness of the noodles when purchasing the meal ticket at the machine in front of the store. The difference from Ippudo is that the toppings include wood ear mushrooms, green onions, and 2 slices of chashu, keeping it simple. The noodles are low-hydration thin noodles. The soup is similar to Ippudo's, I think. I started by trying it as is, then added a little miso paste halfway through. They provide pickled ginger and spicy mustard greens upon request for hygiene reasons. The set of Hakata bite-sized gyoza comes with 5 pieces, which was just the right amount. The price is reasonable at under 1000 yen for the set, and it was delicious. #23rd year, 43rd bowl.

@shiromarubase_official Exploring Umeda's food scene♪ I had known about the existence of "Shiromaru Base" for a long time, but I casually visited for the first time♪ It's located on the 2nd floor in front of Don Quijote♪ It's like a separate line from Ippudo, I think. The interior of the restaurant is quite spacious with only counter seats. It has the feel of a classic ramen shop. With the tournament over, I lifted my ramen ban and went for a basic bowl this timeヽ(´▽`)/ ○ Special Shiromaru Base (Harigane) ○ Kaedama (Harigane) A rich and classic tonkotsu ramen after a long time!! This is it, it's so good!! Well, the parent company is a famous chain so I expected it to be good, but still, it's delicious! I don't even remember the last time I went to Ippudo. I don't remember the taste either( ゚∀゚)・∵ブハッ!! It's so comforting~⁽⁽ଘ( ˊᵕˋ )ଓ⁾⁾ The noodles are ultra-thin Hakata-style noodles! Of course, the firmness of the noodles is Harigane all the way!! I thought they don't lose flour when eating... ( ゚д゚) after finishing the meal, I thought. This is my theory, but the firmer the ultra-thin noodles, the better they taste♪ What do you think, everyone? haha In addition, if they are firm, they are served quickly too( •ᴗ•) haha This shop has various types based on "Shiromaru", but I love spicy food. I was really torn between Akamaru Base, but if you come this far, you have to try the classic! So I went with Shiromaru Base( ̄^ ̄)ゞ haha There are many ramen shops in the Umeda area, so it's hard to decide which one to go to, but I think this place is definitely a recommended choice! Even after drinking, I think Shiromaru Base is the only choice for a finishing ramen...!٩( ᐛ )و Thank you for the meal ▼▼Information below extracted from Tabelog etc.▼▼ ───・───・───・───・─── 【Shop Name】Shiromaru Base Umeda 【Nearest Station】Umeda Station, Higashi Umeda Station 【Address】6-7 Tsunoda-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka City, 2F Ippudo Umeda Store 【Business Hours】10:00-21:00 (LO 20:45) 【Regular Holiday】Open all year round 【Budget】☀️~¥999~¥999 【Notes】No reservations, various cashless payments accepted, counter seats only, child-friendly, specializing in rich tonkotsu broth (with website), highly recommended for a finishing bowl ───・───・───・───・───

This is a shop located on the second floor of the Ichiran in Umeda. It's quite interesting to have a ramen shop above a ramen shop, isn't it? While it's still tonkotsu ramen, it's a second brand. This time, I tried the "Shiromaru Base," which is richer and has a soup that resembles potage more than the regular Ichiran ramen. The simple toppings are also nice.

Good evening! Tonight, I visited Shiro Maru Base in Umeda, Osaka. It's located on the second floor of a building near a big ferris wheel, with the first floor being a branch of Ippudo. The menu includes different ramen bases like Shiro Maru Base, Akamaru Base, Shoyu Base, and Karaka Base. I ordered the Akamaru Base Special for 1120 yen. The ramen came with seaweed, green onions, seasoned egg, and chashu in a rich and creamy broth with a hint of spiciness. The noodles were firm and had a good chew to them. Overall, the ramen was delicious and satisfying. I highly recommend trying it if you're in the Umeda area. Enjoy your meal!

I went to Shiromaru Base on the second floor because there were so many customers waiting outside at Ippudo. Shiromaru Base used to have a good impression with friendly staff, but now it seems to have deteriorated significantly. The "Karakara Base" for 880 yen is now offered at a premium member price of 550 yen. Shiromaru Base used to focus on Shiromaru ramen, but now they have a larger menu than other Ippudo locations. The soup is made using the original recipe from when the restaurant was founded, which is different from the current Ippudo. The simple ingredients make the basic ramen cheaper here compared to other Ippudo locations. I personally prefer the taste of the soup here compared to other Ippudo locations. It's a shame to see Shiromaru Base losing its popularity, perhaps due to the decline in staff quality or the lack of customers. #Ippudo #ShiromaruBase #PowerHoldings

While strolling around Umeda, I suddenly felt like having Ichiran after a long time and decided to go to SHIROMARUBASE. It was my first visit here! I used to go to Ichiran a lot during my student days, so I have a lot of memories associated with it. The interior of the restaurant was clean and had a quiet atmosphere, which was nice. There were many female customers as well. The ramen had ginger as an accent, but to be honest, I think it would be fine without the ginger. I also wished it had a bit more richness to it. It was delicious, but there wasn't anything particularly outstanding about it. It's just a regular ramen shop. Taste preferences vary from person to person, so please take this review as a reference. Thank you for the meal.

I visited "Ippudo Shiromaru Base @ Umeda," located just a few minutes' walk from Osaka's Umeda Station. The first floor seemed like a regular Ippudo, but when I went up to the second floor, the black interior of Shiromaru Base felt like a richer version of Ippudo? There was also a sign outside saying "Special Rich." There were only two customers at 4:00 pm. The ticket machine had an LCD screen. I looked through the menu options, including the basic Shiromaru and Akamaru. Oh? They have soy sauce too. I've never tried Ippudo's soy sauce before. But when it comes to Ippudo, I always end up choosing the basic Shiromaru. Same this time. ● Shiromaru Base ¥780 You can also choose the level of firmness at the ticket machine, so there's no need to tell the staff verbally. While waiting, I checked out various things. An open kitchen. The interior of the restaurant was somewhat stylish. There were sesame seeds and a special pepper shaker on the table. If you ask the staff, they will bring you pickled ginger, spicy mustard greens, garlic, etc. And here it is!!! The ramen looks quite plain, doesn't it? The soup is tonkotsu. It's basically Ippudo, but a bit richer. I wonder if it's necessary to separate it from the regular Ippudo to this extent. The tonkotsu soup is somewhat mysterious. It's different from the typical milky tonkotsu soup, more like a commercial version. I don't really understand it. Well, that's Ippudo for you. Slightly salty. The noodles are thin. Very thin. Were Ippudo noodles always this thin? It's just right with firmness, but... it feels a bit too thin and unsatisfying. The noodles disappear in an instant... I thought about getting an extra serving, but I felt like I'd had enough of these noodles, so I decided to add rice instead. ● Rice ¥100 Cash is okay. I dived the rice, pickled ginger, and sesame into the soup! Delicious. I prefer the rice over the noodles lol. It would probably be amazing with garlic added, but I have other plans after this, so I refrained. Overall, Shiromaru Base is just like Ippudo. No surprise lol. I might like Shiromaru Base more than Ippudo. They had a soy sauce ramen option too. I'll try that next time. Thank you for the meal. 2022.10

This time, I visited this restaurant in Umeda that I was curious about because I had some business in the area. I had been to the Ichiran on the first floor a few times during my student days, but this was my first time here, so I was really looking forward to it! I arrived around 1 pm and had to wait for about 10 minutes before being seated. Since it was my first time, I ordered the signature Shiro Maru base (firm noodles)! It arrived after a 5-minute wait. The taste was different from the regular Ichiran, with a fairly rich tonkotsu soup (not as strong as Tenkaippin), but it was still delicious as there was no unpleasant smell! The thin noodles also paired well with the soup! I might try Ichiran again after a long time. Thank you for the meal!

I suddenly felt like having tonkotsu ramen, so I decided to try the Shiro Maru Base ramen on the second floor of Ippudo. I was impressed that you could choose the firmness of the noodles at the ticket machine. The Shiro Maru Base is a tonkotsu soup with a white broth and soy sauce base, where the tonkotsu flavor is not too strong. The noodles were thin and mixed well with the soup, but the excessive amount of pork fat was a bit overwhelming. The soup was made from the clean part of the tonkotsu, so the excessive fat was unnecessary. Overall, I found the ramen a bit too greasy for my liking. If I were younger, I might have enjoyed it more.

Today, the weather was nice and cool in the morning, perfect for jogging. I took the train to Umeda in the morning! When I arrived a little after 10 am, there were already two customers. I always have a hard time choosing between the tonkotsu and shoyu base for my morning ramen, but I decided to go with tonkotsu this time. The price has gone up since last time, now it's 530 yen for the morning set. I added red pickled ginger, garlic, and mustard greens to my ramen, and it was delicious as always. Thank you for the meal.

I tried this restaurant because I had been there a few times before and wanted to taste their original flavors. I like spicy food, so I chose the Akamaru base. When I asked for toppings, they brought me garlic, pickled ginger, and spicy mustard greens. I had plans to meet someone afterwards, so I only added the pickled ginger and spicy mustard greens. Not bad!

It has been over 20 years since I stopped eating tonkotsu ramen voluntarily. I used to go to Ippudo regularly when I was young, but this is my first visit since it opened! I ordered the Hakata ramen with simple toppings of green onions, chashu, and sesame, which is the original bowl of Shiro Maru Genmai, and the popular gyoza or mentaiko rice combo set! I chose the Hakata tonkotsu set meal (Hakata tonkotsu ramen + mentaiko rice) with the noodle texture as firm. The ramen arrived about 5 minutes after ordering. The visual presentation is modest but the silky soup, extracted to the extreme from 18 hours of cooking and a full day of aging, is delicious without any unpleasant smell. The flavor is not too heavy, which I like! The noodles are firm, yet have a pleasant chewy texture that I enjoyed until the last bite. The mentaiko rice turned out to be spicier than expected, overpowering the taste of the ramen halfway through! I might have made a mistake in my order haha. The seaweed was suitable for wrapping rice balls and had a crispy, salty taste, which I personally prefer. The cost performance may not be the best, but this tonkotsu ramen may not appeal to everyone. Next time, I want to try the ramen with a side of one-bite gyoza!

Hello, it's RamenWalking! Today I had the "Shiromaru Base" at Shiromaru Base Umeda in Umeda. This place is known for its Hakata ramen, a concept created by Ippudo, a ramen chain based in Fukuoka. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the evening hours are shortened, so it's important to check the latest operating hours in advance. I managed to slip in just before closing time. The restaurant on the first floor had a long line, but surprisingly, the second-floor location was queue-free, so I got in right away. The Shiromaru Base ramen costs 780 yen. It's a tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen with a light and slightly salty broth. The toppings include chashu (sliced pork) and green onions, with the option to add wood ear mushrooms, a common choice in Fukuoka. The chashu was a bit fatty but tasty, and the noodles were thin and firm, perfect for soaking up the broth. I recommend mixing the extra noodles well with the soup before eating to fully enjoy the flavors. The addition of white sesame seeds enhances the taste of the tonkotsu soup. Overall, I was very satisfied with the nostalgic taste of the Shiromaru Base ramen. Thank you, Shiromaru Base Umeda, for the delicious meal! Today's steps: 14,666 Calories burned: 543 kcal

On Saturday at 8:00 pm, I went to "Shiromarubase" in Umeda. I ordered the "Akamarubase". I sat down and it arrived in just 2 minutes. Fast. One bite. Delicious. The reliable tonkotsu soup with thin noodles. The joy of eating "Akamaru" is melting the bright red spicy miso. It has been a while since I had ramen from "Ippudo" and it reminded me of my student days. Tonkotsu with spicy miso, pork fat, green onions, and chashu. I used to eat it very firm back in the day, but this time I went with firm noodles. A pioneer who sparked the Hakata tonkotsu ramen boom nationwide. It brought back memories of my youth. Thank you for the meal.
