After having breakfast ramen, I decided to visit the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market to pass some time. Unfortunately, it was not very lively outside of the market. Many shops were closed, probably because it was a Monday. Even the famous sushi restaurants were closed, so I gave up on finding something to eat. I walked around just to browse, but the prices were quite high, and the tourist-targeted shopkeepers were a bit pushy. I then thought about buying some shipping bags at a courier company nearby, so I found Kuroneko and purchased some. I came up with a plan to buy small, unique items from various shops to send as gifts to my friends. I went to Sato Suisan and found some interesting items, like garlic buttered tsubu (whelk) swimming in oil. It looked like a kind of tapas dish. I thought it would be fun to try different items like this as gifts. I also bought some for myself to try at home later. The package had vegetables on the cover, but inside, it was just tsubu shells swimming in oil. It may sound plain, but it was actually delicious when heated and had a nice flavor. It was a perfect snack size for one person. I decided to gather similar items from other shops to create a surprise gift bag for my friends.

Sato Suisan, located outside the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market, is a great place to buy seafood products like salmon and other marine delicacies. I purchased the "Salmon Chips" for 648 yen, as well as "Salmon Soy Sauce" for 340 yen and "Salmon Sausage" for 140 yen. The Salmon Chips were thinly sliced and had a soft texture, making them easy to eat. They have less fat compared to regular salmon flakes, which I found delicious. There are other products that would make great snacks with alcohol, and the prices are reasonable. I recommend this place to salmon lovers.

Image blog ⇒ "http://kouji328.blog59.fc2.com/blog-entry-4242.html" Sapporo 1 night 2 day tour Day 2 morning. With a JTB tour benefit, breakfast was enjoyed at the Northern Gourmet Pavilion in the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market, where a seafood bowl worth 1000 yen was more enjoyable than expected. While waiting for the shuttle bus back to Sapporo Station, I stopped by my favorite Sato Suisan, located on the outskirts of the market. There were large hairy crabs and shrimp (lobster?) displayed at the storefront. The store was spacious and had a wide variety of products compared to the main store in Sapporo. Most of the items at Sato Suisan were available for tasting, such as salmon roe, herring products, salmon skin snacks, smoked salmon roe, various salted squid, and salmon liver. They were all delicious. However, my favorite seafood rice ball from Sato Suisan, which I assumed would be brought from the main store, was not available as it arrives around 9:30. They had interesting options like "spicy cod roe," "scallop mixed rice," and "hand-rolled salmon roe" (onigiri). I ended up purchasing a 105g vacuum-packed "smoked salmon roe" made with natural salmon for 390 yen, which was a unique product from Sato Suisan. It had a strong flavor, good texture, and was a delicious delicacy. After that, I refreshed myself with a cut melon at the neighboring fruit wholesale store before returning to Sapporo Station on the shuttle bus and renting a bicycle for 500 yen. But before that, I must also stop by the main store of Sato Suisan in Sapporo. By the way, when I ate the salmon roe at home, its deliciousness was further emphasized when eaten with rice. It was like eating a high-quality smoked ham with a hint of black pepper. Extremely delicious! Just one piece was enough to easily finish a small bowl of rice. I would rate it 80 points. I have used this place a few times for events. My favorite is the salmon lübe pickle, but this time I bought the salmon cheese roll (1,382 yen). The service is very polite, but I think the prices are a bit high. It is an original product of the shop, rolled up with salmon and cheese alternately. The salmon is not smoked salmon, but cooked salmon, which was different from what I imagined. It felt more like a side dish than a snack. My husband seemed to like it, so that's good. (2018/11)

Sato Suisan is a famous high-quality seafood specialty store in Hokkaido. Whenever I visit Hokkaido, I always buy their salmon roe. This time, I was determined to buy more salmon roe. The store also offers fresh seafood such as Hanasaki crab and king crab, as well as various processed seafood products from Hokkaido. I had a hard time deciding what else to buy besides the salmon roe, but in the end, I bought a lot of it to take home. The salmon roe is delicious, with perfectly sized salmon pieces and a great balance of saltiness with salmon roe. It goes well with rice and even pairs nicely with alcohol. I will definitely buy it again when I visit Hokkaido next time.

I couldn't help but stop by Sato Suisan when I saw it (*'ω'*). I visited a while ago. *Market store exclusive: Economical salted fish roe (390 yen) Delicious salted fish roe. Goes well with rice and even with buttered potatoes!! Also goes well with alcohol, I love salted fish roe♡ I liked this one because it's cheap. They also had a large size available. *Limited quantity: Crab for hot pot (400g: 480 yen) It was so cheap that I bought it!! We made crab soup with it. It had plenty of meat and was delicious~♡ It was a good purchase. I used the market store for the first time, and they have various store-exclusive items, which is nice~♡ I will use it again.

Sato Suisan is a popular seafood company in Sapporo, known for their focus on natural salmon. The actress Eriko Sato is related to this company. They have 8 direct sales outlets in Sapporo and New Chitose Airport, with a store now in Haneda Airport as well. Sato Suisan also operates their own restaurants. The Sapporo Nakanai Market, where Sato Suisan Market Store is located, used to attract many tourists, but now mainly caters to visitors. The store offers seafood products geared towards tourists. I visited after trying delicious scallop ramen at Higuma Central Market Store. I bought two types of seafood rice balls to enjoy for lunch with my companion. The Seafood Jumbo Rice Ball - Mix contains autumn salmon and hand-rolled salmon roe, providing a satisfying meal with its generous fillings. The Seafood Jumbo Rice Ball - Hand-Rolled Salmon Roe has a similar filling with Sato Suisan's unique hand-rolled salmon roe. Both rice balls are filling and worth the price, with the hand-rolled salmon roe option being a more affordable choice compared to other similar options on the market. Overall, Sato Suisan's Seafood Jumbo Rice Balls are a delicious and convenient treat.

On a Sunday morning, I headed to an outdoor market and enjoyed a seafood bowl at "Hokkai Gyogyo." I then wandered around among the tourists and went into "Sato Suisan Market Store." I blended in perfectly with the tourists and no one would have thought I was a local. The percentage of foreign visitors seemed to be lower than I expected. Although I didn't have anything specific in mind to buy, as I looked around, I found myself wanting a few things here and there. However, the prices at "Sato Suisan" were not as budget-friendly as I had hoped. I ended up getting "mentaiko" and "striped hokke" for about 2,000 yen and had them for dinner when I got home. I really enjoy fish roe products like "mentaiko" and "ikura" with a light salt flavor. There is a seafood company in Torazoko-hama that makes delicious tarako, but I haven't had the chance to visit yet. I often make pasta at home with tarako, and this time it felt like a luxury treat. The "striped hokke" had the perfect amount of saltiness, and I couldn't help but admire the quality of Sato Suisan. If only it was a bit more cost-effective...

On the final day of my trip to Sapporo, I visited the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market outside market! I came here because I saw it featured on TV before, but to my surprise, there were only a few foreign tourists around. Perhaps it was because it was a Sunday? I was amazed by how quiet and empty it was. As we wandered around, we were invited to try samples from various shops. We finally arrived at "Sato Suisan," located at the far end of the market, which had a different atmosphere compared to the other shops. It was not pushy at all, and the staff did not approach us aggressively. They had a wide variety of products. I bought items such as sweet shrimp salted roe, squid salted roe, smoked salmon, crab pate, scallop pate, scallop cheese, and salmon jerky. However, later as we walked around Sapporo Station, guess what!!! We found Sato Suisan there too (°▽°)(°▽°) There was no need to go all the way to the Central Wholesale Market... Lesson learned (>人<;) When we returned home, we enjoyed the delicious items we bought, and my friends also loved them, so all is well (*_*) Especially the scallop cheese was irresistible, and we quickly finished one bag. I wish I had bought more!! Thank you for the delicious food.

When you come to Hokkaido in late autumn in 2017, remember to bring back some souvenirs~ It's customary to send them to your home or clients in a grand manner (laughs). There are shops at the airport and Sapporo station, but somehow getting them from the market feels better, don't you think? You can choose various seafood like crab and salmon roe as souvenirs. This time, I tried a snack called "sakeppi" and got hooked on it. It's simply fried salmon skin, but the crispy texture is amazing. It goes well with shochu or beer, you can drink as much as you want. When will I go to Hokkaido next year? (laughs)

I had breakfast and also enjoyed some soft serve ice cream. Then I had to eat onigiri before leaving. I don't even understand the logic behind it. Since I came to this market, I've been thinking, "I have to stop by at Sato Suisan!" But my wife doesn't know about such expectations and she's teasing me about buying onigiri. Even though I gave her that look, there were so many tourists around. I noticed three buses parked. We can warm up the onigiri together, but we couldn't find them. I asked if they didn't have onigiri here. So we ended up buying shishamo instead, which is from Hokkaido. Even though it's the real deal, the ones with roe are more expensive. Humans are cheaper when they have kids, right? What am I even talking about? I'll try grilling them when we get back. Why do I keep making the same mistake every time? I ended up letting my wife grill them, and she burned them. Oh well, it's not bad. It has a nice color. It's definitely different from capelin. I don't want to waste beer on it, so let's have some sake. It's good, not too soft, not too tough, and the texture is great. It's delicious after all.

This is a souvenir shop located in Sapporo's Chuo Ward, outside the market. It is a well-known top brand for Hokkaido seafood souvenirs. It is highly appreciated as a gift for important clients during business trips to Tokyo. On this day, while looking for a sake accompaniment for home after a soba walk, I stopped by this shop. It was a bit late, so there were few tourists and the shop was empty. No matter how many times I come here, this shop is always enjoyable. There are many types of products, and there are quite a few items available for tasting. Unfortunately, the seafood rice balls I was looking for were already sold out, so I only bought a delicious sake cup and went home. I enjoyed it at home with snacks from elsewhere, and it is not only good with sake but also as a snack for beer or whiskey.

I am in Sapporo. I wanted to buy dried fish as a souvenir, so I stopped by Sato Suisan after visiting Hikari Sushi at the fish market. There are many souvenir shops outside, but since I am in Hokkaido, I need to buy things and have them sent to my home. I have heard about some past issues with buying things and having them shipped, so I decided to go to the well-known Sato Suisan. There is also a shop at the airport, but I had plenty of time so I decided to shop at the market store. After walking around the market twice, I bought some items including dried Atka mackerel, dried saffron cod, pickled herring, and hot smoked Atka mackerel. I bought both Hokkaido and Russian saffron cod to compare, with only a 100 yen difference. It's a matter of personal preference, but I think I slightly prefer the Russian saffron cod by about 1mm. I love Atka mackerel, so I always buy it. I have two more items left to buy. I will enjoy them slowly.

Sato Suisan, located in the special market I occasionally visit in April 2016, was my first time visiting. Compared to other stores, Sato Suisan seems to have fewer items, but the attractive point is that you can sample various products. This time, I purchased the delicious salted fish roe and the famous large rice ball. The rice ball is very big and filled with plenty of ingredients. Even my son gets tired of eating just one. I love the delicious salted fish roe, which is not too salty but full of flavor and very tasty. There are other types available, so you can find your favorite salted fish roe. Thank you for the meal! ✿ฺ(๑´ڡ`๑)✿ฺ.

Sato Suisan Market Store, I used to come here occasionally, but this is my first time writing a review. The crab and lobster decorations outside the market stand out and catch the eye, although not as strong as a Dyson vacuum, they still make an impact. When it comes to crabs, it's the same for all the stores in the market - the pricing doesn't really entice you to buy. You can try samples, but not all the stores offer them, giving off a somewhat lackluster vibe. However, since the staff aren't pushy, you can browse freely and make a purchase without feeling pressured. The store in Miyanomori is more inviting with samples and atmosphere, but the store in Ishikari might be the most tempting to buy from. On this day, I wanted some seafood pate to dip my baguette in, so I bought crab pate and also some salmon chips on a whim. They were packed securely with ice packs and handed over in a well-insulated package. It would be nice if they offered a discount for items you don't need, but overall, shopping in the market is most convenient here. The crab pate was delicious as expected, and the salmon chips were a perfect snack with drinks. I will definitely be coming back next time.

Sato Suisan Market Store in Hokkaido is a shop that sells representative seafood products from Hokkaido and often utilizes the store at New Chitose Airport. On this day, I visited after having breakfast at a cafeteria in the outdoor market on a Sunday morning. Sato Suisan has 8 stores in Hokkaido, including New Chitose Airport, Ishikari, Sapporo Station Main Store, Outdoor Market, Hitsujigaoka, and Miyanomori. They are particular about sourcing, processing, wholesaling, and selling their original products. They have over 300 types of products, with a special focus on natural salmon from Hokkaido, and they do not use any farmed products. Some of their main products include Seafood Pate (salmon, crab, scallop), Smoked Salmon Roe, Salmon Lübe Pickled, Kombu with Roe, Hairy Scallop with Wasabi, Bite-sized Matsumae Herring Roe, Tea Pickled Series, Salmon Chips, Salmon Fillets, Salmon Ajillo Canned, and many more. The market store offers products that can only be purchased there and a wide variety of samples for tasting, making it convenient to decide after trying. The items I bought this time were Salmon Lübe Pickled, Bite-sized Matsumae Herring Roe, Crab Pate, and Hot Smoked Salmon Belly. I will definitely try other products when I visit again. There are plenty of items that would make great souvenirs, so it should be enjoyable to browse.

【4th Post】October 2014 I have visited the restaurant a few times since my last review. Each time, my favorite "Seafood Jumbo Rice Ball Mix" was sold out. This time, when I visited, there were only 3 "Seafood Gourmet Rice Balls with Cod Roe" available. I had to settle for that. - Seafood Gourmet Rice Balls with Cod Roe Weight: 263g Price: 388 yen (including 8% consumption tax) The rice ball was jumbo-sized as usual, filled with plenty of fresh cod roe. The cod roe was lightly salted. The quality of the cod roe is reliable from Sato Suisan. The popular "Hand-rolled Salmon Roe" is almost out of stock. The "Mix" and "Hand-rolled Salmon Roe" varieties will be temporarily unavailable until mid-October when new stock arrives. Looking forward to the new items. 【3rd Post】December 2013 I visited the restaurant around noon, and luckily, there were still some "Seafood Jumbo Rice Ball Mix" available. The weight was around 260g per rice ball, and the ingredients were delicious as always. The restaurant still offers plenty of samples, including salmon roe and salmon caviar, which is always a delight. 【2nd Post】November 2012 I bought two "Seafood Jumbo Rice Ball Mix" after a long time. I managed to get one as they were almost sold out. The weight of one rice ball was 260g, priced at 400 yen. A great value for money. The "Hand-rolled Salmon Roe" regular size is 150g, and jumbo size is 225g. The salmon caviar regular size is 525 yen, and jumbo size is 640 yen. 【1st Post】October 2011 Sato Suisan is a popular seafood company in Sapporo, with 8 direct sales outlets. This particular store near the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market is convenient for tourists. The store is well-organized for tourists, offering a wide range of seafood products. The store also provides many samples for customers to try, making it a great place for first-time visitors.

When I was still in high school, I lived with an aunt for a while, and her nephew, who was just a little kid back then, recently got married. I remember teaching him drums when he was in elementary school. It's nostalgic. I didn't attend the wedding, but his parents sent a thank-you gift, which he delivered to me today. It had been decades since we last met, but I still remembered him well and was happy to see how he had grown into a fine man. His wife seemed kind and a great partner for him. As for the thank-you gift, it was over the top – a huge king crab (estimated 2kg). I couldn't help but think, "Did his parents spend a fortune on this?" Since we had received other gourmet gifts as well, we decided to have a feast with my brother's family that day. King crab is not something we eat often, so we enjoyed it to the fullest. It was delicious, with the rich flavor of the crab filling our mouths. King crab is all about the ease and excitement of eating. It was so tasty! Personally, I usually think of snow crab when it comes to crab, so king crab and horsehair crab feel like different types of food to me. But this real king crab was truly delicious, and we all enjoyed it with great enthusiasm. It felt like we were sharing happiness together, making it even more delicious. Congratulations to the newlyweds, and thank you for the wonderful meal!

Sato Suisan, located outside the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market, is always bustling with tourists. The shop is situated on a sharp curve (which attracts many taxi customers), and there is no parking space in front of the shop, so if you come by car, you need to go to the back parking lot. This time, I stopped by while shopping at the nearby Nakaoroshi Center. Here, you can also buy the famous jumbo onigiri, so I bought one (with salmon roe) after a long time. It was still as big as ever, but since I got it early, the rice was not too firm and had a fluffy texture (later in the evening, the onigiri tends to become hard due to its weight). However, I felt that the rice was too salty, in addition to the saltiness of the salmon roe. It may be made with the same seasoning as other onigiri, but the strong saltiness of the salmon roe makes the rice overly salty. Although the quality of the rice itself is good, this might be a bit too harsh for me.
