Located near Sunagawa Station, this is a Western confectionery shop. I visited on a weekend morning in early October around 11 am. The shop had a spacious and open atmosphere. I purchased their signature item, the "Apple Pie". I initially thought the price was a bit high, but when I actually tasted it, the crispy texture of the pie and the combination of the pie crust and apple were fantastic, and the size was sufficient. I was very satisfied and felt the price was justified. Thank you for the delicious treat.

I stopped by "HONDA" at the Sanda Shopping Plaza AiAi to buy some groceries. After purchasing my items, I noticed a limited-time Shine Muscat cake in the display case. It's in season right now, so I decided to try it. However, the prices were a bit high: "Shortcake 980 yen," "Tart 780 yen," "Roll cake 720 yen." But since it uses Shine Muscat, it's understandable. I've tried HONDA's seasonal fruit cakes before, and they were delicious despite the high price. Plus, they offer a complimentary drink for eat-in customers. So, I decided to go for it and ordered the "Shine Muscat Roll" (720 yen). I was tempted by the Shortcake, but 980 yen for one piece was a bit much. For the complimentary drink, I chose coffee. The Shine Muscat Roll had generous slices of Shine Muscat on top and inside the roll cake. The grapes were juicy and fresh. The roll cake itself was moist, and the cream was subtly sweet and elegant. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. The hot coffee served as part of the eat-in service was surprisingly made fresh when I ordered it, not pre-made. I was very satisfied with it as well. I went to the Aiai store in Honnda to buy an apple pie! It costs 460 yen, which is not really for everyday use! I saw a review of this chestnut pie at a department store event in Sapporo, where they were talking about how much they ate and how much they gained weight. I missed out on trying it last year, so I was determined to try it this year! "Honda" is a confectionery shop that mainly operates in the Sorachi area, centered around Sapporo. Their apple pie is delicious, and fans are divided between "Nakaya," another famous apple pie shop in Sorachi. I personally prefer "Honda." This time, I bought the pie, but I also want to introduce another one of my favorite items. - Chestnut Pie: 540 yen. A seasonal limited edition item. The crispy pie crust is filled with sweet chestnut paste and a whole chestnut that is cooked to perfection. It's a bit pricey, but it's a must-try item to fully enjoy chestnuts during this season. - Freshly Baked Apple Pie: 395 yen. The perfect balance of tartness and sweetness in the apple filling, combined with a crispy pie crust that is rich with the aroma of butter. It's always delicious no matter when you eat it. - Snow-viewing Almond Jelly: 350 yen. When you open the lid of the large paper container, you'll see the glossy skin of the "Snow-viewing Almond Jelly." When you scoop it with a spoon, it jiggles dangerously, and when you taste it, the subtle sweetness combined with the flavor of almonds spreads in your mouth. It's so delicious that you might mistakenly think it's a drink. It goes down smoothly, and if you're feeling good, you could easily have two at once. It's just so tasty. I almost ended up eating everything by myself, but then I remembered that my husband also likes almond jelly... I managed to save some for him. The other day, after visiting the main store of the sweets shop HONDA, I also visited several sweets shops in Sunagawa and took a break at the shopping center aiai, where I happened to find another branch of the same shop! It's the "HONDA AiAi Sunagawa Store" located at 1-1-1 Higashi 1-jo Minami, Sunagawa City, on the 1st floor of AiAi Sunagawa Store. The store is open from 9:00 to 18:00, closed on Sundays. They have parking available and it's a non-smoking store. The exterior of the shop caught my eye as I was leaving. When I entered the shop, I realized it was tucked away at the back of AiAi, so it wasn't visible from the outside. Inside the small shop, a variety of sweets were displayed. Even though I had just bought a cake at the main store, I couldn't resist when I saw they had apple pie available! It cost 395 yen including tax. The taste of the apple pie was rustic and natural, with a slightly moist and crumbly pie crust and chunky apple pieces. It reminded me of the taste you might find in a homemade American apple pie. It was a simple and delicious treat, reflecting the popularity of this item.

On a certain holiday, due to the unfortunate typhoon weather, my walking plans were canceled. I was contemplating whether to go out or not when the rain gradually subsided. I decided to go on a sudden expedition to Sunagawa, the largest Aco-op store in Sunagawa, where my favorite dessert shop, HONDA, is located. The parking lot is convenient as it is part of a shopping center. The shop can be entered directly from the co-op store or from outside, and it is compact with only three tables, which was a bit disappointing. Luckily, one table was available this time. The background music playing was calm and soothing. From the menu, I chose to try the "Yukimi Annin" and the seasonal limited edition "Chestnut Shortcake" from the dessert showcase. The Chestnut Shortcake was quite impressive with a large sweet chestnut on top, a brandy-flavored chestnut cream underneath, whipped cream, sponge cake, and finely chopped chestnuts in the middle. As for the Annin Tofu, it was as delightful as always. Despite what others may say, I truly love this Annin Tofu. Lastly, the complimentary coffee was surprisingly delicious. Although the limited edition cake seemed a bit pricey, I understood that it must be due to the quality ingredients used. This might be the last time I enjoy these treats this year. On the way to the store, I remembered the incident from New Year's when I bought an apple pie at Honda's confectionery and the tragic "W" event that unfolded in the car afterwards.
