The original sauce, which combines Sichuan pepper and soy sauce with chili oil, coats the noodles well, adding a refreshing mala flavor as an accent, along with a pleasant spiciness that occasionally makes you cough. The noodles are homemade, with a chewy texture that is satisfying to eat. There is plenty of minced meat, with six small pieces of thick pork belly and four medium pieces of pork shoulder, providing a hearty and delicious meal. The pork belly is seasoned with a sweet and savory flavor, while the pork shoulder has a moist and tender texture, allowing you to savor the unique flavors of each meat. You can also enjoy flavor variations by adding Ho-no vinegar or Ho-no garlic vinegar, which are served separately. You can finish the meal by adding the complimentary rice dive. Visited around 8 pm on September 10th (Sunday). There were quite a few people who seemed to be Osaka University students, but we only had to wait a little for a seat. The menu had various options like chicken paitan ramen and maze soba, and I was torn between the limited-time cold tsukemen and the rich chicken paitan ramen at the top of the list. I ended up choosing the rich chicken paitan ramen and roast beef bowl. The flavor was indeed different from other shops' chicken paitan, with a rich soup that coated the noodles without any off-flavors, giving it a unique and delicious taste. The toppings, including stem seaweed, paired very well with the rich soup. I would love to have a place like this in my neighborhood.

Ho-i, a famous restaurant in Hotarugaike, is truly delicious no matter what you order. Lately, I have been enjoying their mixed ramen, specifically the meat topping mixed ramen. The meat topping is so tasty, especially the roast beef. The noodles and seasoning are also top-notch. And for the finishing touch, their rice bowl is so clean and easy to eat. That's the secret to its deliciousness. Thank you for the always delicious ramen. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal!

My wife had some errands to run in Ikeda City, so I wanted to go there as well. However, there was no parking available, so we decided to visit Menya Hoi, located between Ikeda and Toyonaka. They had parking space for two cars, so we were able to park easily. My wife ordered the Chicken Shoyu Ramen for 750 yen, while I ordered the Fish Clear Soup Ramen for 800 yen with an extra serving of chashu for 200 yen. I tried the soup from the Chicken Shoyu Ramen first, and it was very rich in chicken flavor. I imagine the Chicken White Soup must be thick and creamy. My wife was happy that she could get collagen from it. The Fish Clear Soup Ramen had a slightly fishy taste today, with a hint of yuzu to mask it, but it was a bit disappointing in flavor. The straight thin noodles were delicious.

I visited this restaurant near Hotarugaike Station, which has high ratings and has been on my radar for a while. It took a bit of time before the dish arrived. The meat was delicious and of a high level! However, I felt that there was a slight mismatch between the noodles and the soup.

After work, I visited Menya Hoi, located near Hotaruike Station. I ordered the rich chicken white broth ramen. The noodles were quite thick and had a good chewiness. The soup was thick and had a high viscosity, with plenty of garlic, ginger, and chicken broth, making it very satisfying to eat. The taste was a bit addictive and very delicious.

"Chicken Paitan Shoyu Ramen" for 750 yen 【Soup】I forgot that I ordered the chicken paitan soup. It has a murky brown color and a thick consistency that clings to the mouth. 【Noodles】Low hydration, thin straight noodles. 【Toppings】Rare chashu, seaweed, stem wakame, green onions. It's been a while since I visited Ramen Hoi. I couldn't remember what kind of ramen I had before, but as soon as it was served, I recalled that unique colored soup I had tried in the past. This time, the soup didn't have that distinct smell, making it easy to enjoy. I had a comforting bowl of ramen. Thank you for the meal.

Second visit! Couldn't forget the cold ramen, so I came back for more. This time I also tried the pork bowl, which was delicious as always. The rich pork belly was irresistible, perfect for this summer. The staff, especially the kind lady, even reminded me to be careful of heatstroke as I left. I'm looking forward to trying the mixed noodles next time!

My wife and I visited the restaurant around 7 pm, but it was packed with customers. We didn't give up and decided to try again around 9 pm. Luckily, we were able to get a table this time. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was great, and the staff was very friendly. The dishes we ordered were all delicious. The cost performance was also good. We definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

However, there was a line forming outside during our visit. Chicken Paitan Ramen (Soy Sauce): The noodles were thin and straight, cooked to my preference of firmness. The soup was a slightly thick chicken paitan, surprisingly light with not much distinctive flavor. It was interesting how it didn't have the usual rich and clingy feeling on the lips like traditional tonkotsu ramen. Hoi's Meat Mix Noodles: The noodles had a chewy texture and were thick and straight. The sauce had a sweet and spicy taste. Two types of vinegar (flavored vinegar, garlic vinegar) were provided for flavor variations. The roast beef and diced chashu toppings were delicious, living up to the "meat mix" name. The service was also polite and attentive.

The location is Hotaruike. I visited a ramen shop that I had been wanting to go to for a while, called "Menya Hoi". It is a well-known ramen shop in the northern part of Osaka. It is located about a 5-6 minute walk from Hotaruike. I was interested in trying the cold miso ramen, but decided to go with the meat mixed noodles for now. Before the shop opened, the staff informed me that they were still preparing the roast beef, so they couldn't serve the roast beef bowl or the meat mixed noodles with roast beef. I ended up ordering the meat mixed noodles for 950 yen, with an additional 150 yen for a large size. The meat included roast beef, chashu, and minced meat. Mixing them all together created a unique and delicious flavor. The noodles had a junky taste that made me want to eat more. You can also adjust the taste to your liking. Personally, I found it most delicious without any adjustments. Lastly, I tried the Dive Meshi (rice dish) at the end, which you can also order in a large size. Among the mixed noodles I've had recently, this was the most delicious. I am interested in trying their cold miso ramen as well, so I would like to revisit this place if I have the chance.

I had some cold ramen❕❕ It's perfect for this season. It came with ice, so it's super cold✨ It had pickled ginger as a topping, which was my favorite part! The rich soup paired perfectly with the refreshing flavor of the pickled ginger. It also had cream cheese as a topping, which is rare for ramen. There was no wait time for a visit around 6:30 pm on Sunday! Sometimes there are a few people waiting during lunchtime when I pass by. The signature menu seems to be the mixed noodles, so I ordered that. It had plenty of ingredients, and when eaten with the noodles, the crunchy texture of the green onions and the spicy-sweet flavor of the minced meat were just right and delicious!

Visited around 13:00 on Friday. The place was not very crowded, maybe because it was a little past lunchtime or because of the heavy rain. I tried the Spicy Mazed Soba for 850 yen and a bottled beer for 500 yen. The Spicy Mazed Soba was quite numbing, which I enjoy spicy food, so it was to my liking. The flavor was delicious, and the service was good. Although it's a bit far, I would like to visit this restaurant again.

I arrived 20 minutes before the opening time to try the Mazesoba, but the staff was putting up a temporary closure sign right in front of me! I had to wait to try it another day... I visited again, but the closure sign was still there! Feeling disappointed, I decided to try again on a sunny day during the rainy season. Finally, on June 10, 2023, I arrived at 11:00 am for my first visit. I was the first customer and ordered the "Hoino Mazesoba" with extra noodles. The place was busy, with two more groups entering right after me. While waiting for my order, I observed the menu and the interior without disturbing other customers. The water served had a refreshing lemon flavor. Despite the cramped counter seats due to COVID-19 measures, the restaurant provided baskets for belongings and hangers for jackets. The Mazesoba, topped with plenty of minced meat, white leeks, shiso leaves, and a half-cooked egg, was flavorful and filling. The noodles seemed to be whole wheat, with a slightly dark color. Following the instructions, I mixed everything well before eating. The sweet and salty seasoning, combined with the rich texture of the half-cooked egg, was delightful. The refreshing touch of shiso leaves balanced the dish perfectly. The two types of vinegar offered added unique flavors, and although the rice portion seemed small, it was just right when mixed in. I'm glad I persisted and visited the restaurant for the third time. It was a great brunch experience on a Saturday. Thank you for the meal!

"Hoi Ramen" is a ramen restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Hotaruike Station in Toyonaka City. I was drawn in by the name on the sign! Inside, I was surprised to see two women running the place, which is rare for a ramen shop! They had a few different types of ramen, but since it was my first time there, I tried the "Rich Chicken White Broth Ramen" for 850 yen. The soup was thick and creamy, coating the noodles well, and it was delicious. A regular customer even asked, "Is there still some rich white broth left?" so they may have limited quantities available.

There is a shop near the Keihoku Station of the Osaka Monorail that seems to be popular for its clear soup ramen, but I found out they also have a Sichuan-style spicy mala mixed soba! The staff provides friendly service. You can choose to increase the amount of noodles, starting at 160 grams. I opted for 200 grams (with an additional 150 yen). If you increase the noodles, the soup and toppings also increase. The Sichuan-style spicy mala mixed soba costs 850 yen, plus 150 yen for extra noodles and 200 yen for additional chashu, totaling 1140 yen including tax without rice! The minced meat is plentiful and a bit difficult to mix in (laughs). The diced chashu slices hidden under the minced meat look great - they are pink and large, offering good volume even though they are thinly sliced. The spiciness was not too strong, but the flavor was delicious. The crunchy vegetables, noodles, minced meat, and numbing spice complement each other perfectly! They provide two types of vinegar for flavor variation: aromatic vinegar and garlic vinegar. Be careful, as adding too much aromatic vinegar can alter the flavor too much. It transformed the spicy dish into a refreshing one with acidity. I will definitely come back.

After returning from a business trip to Kobe, I decided to have lunch near Itami before heading back. I ended up at this ramen shop. Luckily, there weren't many customers waiting, so I was seated quickly. The interior of the shop was surprisingly spacious, which might mean good turnover? I debated between ramen and mixed noodles, but I was intrigued by the large serving of tantan mixed noodles! The noodles arrived with what looked like dumplings on top (haha). It looked delicious, and I started mixing it all together. The appearance of the dish quickly toned down during the mixing process (unfortunately). I wish there was an egg on top. The taste was exactly like tantan noodles, with a good texture to the noodles making it quite delicious. Mixing in the garlic vinegar added a light flavor, which was also good. Once I finished the noodles, I dove into the set menu rice, which was a cute small serving (haha). I mixed it with the remaining toppings. The base of tantan noodles is always a safe choice! The other people with me also enjoyed their meals, so that was good. I'm curious about the ramen as well, but I might come back here if I need a meal on the way to the airport. For now, I'm full!
