Visited around 7 pm on a Tuesday in June 2021 for dessert after dinner. Location & Parking: Located near Sumikawa Station on the Hiranishi Street, the exterior gives off a high-end vibe rather than looking like a typical Chateraise. There is no parking available. Upon entering, you'll find a cozy floor space with a variety of cakes and pastries on display. The clean and lovely interior is takeout-only, with no seating available. Menu: The display showcases delicious cakes, apple pies, and other pastries, along with ice cream, chocolates, and more. Despite initially aiming for soft-serve ice cream, which was unavailable due to maintenance, I ended up purchasing the Premium Apple Pie, Rosy Heart, and Ice Cream. The Premium Apple Pie, made with fermented butter and double-baked, had a shiny, appealing crust with plenty of chunky apple filling. The crispy and light caramelized sugar texture of the crust, along with the satisfying apple chunks, showcased attention to detail and delicious flavors. It ranked high among the apple pies I've tried, and the syrup topping, although slightly sticky, was incredibly tasty. The Rosy Heart, featuring cream cheese sandwiched between Taiwanese castella cake layers, topped with edible flowers, pink rose cream, and strawberries, had a charming appearance suited for a maiden. The cake had a fluffy yet substantial texture, a light cream cheese taste, and a red wine-soaked strawberry jelly with fruit pieces and a balanced acidity that served as accents throughout. The Chateraise Premium Fermented Butter Rum Raisin, a small milk-based fermented butter ice cream with selected Sultana golden raisins, offered a luxurious treat. The ice cream had a rich, caramel-like flavor, a smooth and creamy texture, and a generous amount of rum raisins at the bottom, transforming into a sophisticated adult taste with a hint of rum aroma. Despite its small size, the intense and satisfying flavor of this ice cream offered excellent value for its price. Lastly, the Cherry Tart, made with high-sugar Satonishiki cherries from Yamanashi and Southern Alps strawberries, featured a thick tart crust topped with cherries and strawberries, offering a delightful treat with a substantial and satisfying texture from the tart crust and a delicious fresh taste from the cherries and strawberries. I look forward to trying the cream puffs on my next visit.
