This is an udon restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from the Hatsumode Tenjin Station, standing alone in a residential area. The exterior looks like a typical udon restaurant, and inside, there is a counter on the right side with a kitchen in front, and table seating at the back. The background music playing includes hits from bands like Mr. Children and Spitz, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. The interior is decorated in a traditional Japanese style, and the aroma of dashi fills the air.
The staff, a middle-aged couple, provide warm and attentive service. The menu offers various categories of udon such as zaru, bukkake, nama jyoyu, and kamaage, as well as popular curry udon and nabeyaki udon. They also have unique udon dishes with a twist. Additionally, they serve donburi dishes like tendon, katsudon, and negitoro don, along with set meals like chicken karaage, hirekatsu, kaki fry, tempura, and rosukatsu. The daily specials are also quite extensive.
I decided to order the popular chicken mince and onsen egg curry udon. The udon noodles arrived within 10 minutes, freshly boiled. The dish came with the curry udon, a bowl, a large lotus root slice, spicy condiments, and a disposable apron, along with a serving of cold tea. The udon noodles were thick and had a firm texture, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to using high-quality ingredients. The curry broth was rich and slightly spicy, complementing the curry flavor well. The sweet and savory chicken mince added depth to the dish, and the onsen egg was perfectly cooked.
Overall, the meal was delicious, and I look forward to trying their curry on rice next time. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience.
