However, in countries like India and Sri Lanka, curry is traditionally made from spices, so the term "spice curry" may seem redundant. One of the restaurants that helped popularize spice curry is the "Kyuyamutei" in Osaka. The main store is located in Tanimachi 6-chome, but I visited the one in Osaka Station's B1F Baltika. The restaurant is located in the Daibiru Building, which has a vintage atmosphere. The menu changes daily, offering four different curry options. I tried the pork keema and chorizo with cabbage, as well as the green Thai curry with shrimp and zucchini. The curries were flavorful and not too spicy. The meal also came with side dishes like edamame achar and mustard greens sambal. Overall, it was a delicious experience and a great alternative to the recently closed spice curry restaurant in Komatsu.

It was quite spicy, but I liked that the spiciness didn't linger afterwards. The bean curry that comes with it by default was also delicious. It was not spicy so it served as a nice break.

You can choose between a 2-curry plate or a 3-curry plate, and also choose from brown rice, jasmine rice, or rice berry mix. The curry of the day was pork keema, chicken keema, and Okutamba chicken curry. I opted for the 3-curry plate with jasmine rice in a large portion, while my wife chose the 2-curry plate with jasmine rice. The brown rice was sold out, by the way. The curry had a unique aroma of spices and was spicy. The two types of keema curry had a distinct taste, which might be a matter of personal preference. Nevertheless, I couldn't help but feel that ¥1500 for curry was a bit expensive. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Arrived before 1 pm! There were about 5 groups lined up, but we were able to enter the store in about 10-15 minutes. Ordered 3 types of curry and a 4-piece chicken. Took a photo after eating 1 piece. Chose chicken keema, pork keema, shrimp green curry, and jasmine rice! Encountered a spice curry that I could taste the umami for the first time. Even with keema, there are plenty of meat chunks and vegetables, giving a satisfying feeling of fullness. The chicken is small but the juiciness ranks first among those I have eaten before! A shop I want to visit every time the curry changes. The special plate was sold out when we entered, and the shrimp green curry was also sold out by the time we left. We entered with a stroller, and the aisle inside the store was wide, and the female staff kindly asked if we needed water or dishes for the child, which was much appreciated. The atmosphere is good and cozy, so it is also recommended for a date.

The restaurant itself is spacious with a large number of seats, but it gets crowded quickly, especially before noon, so it's recommended to go early.

I went to the National Museum of Art for a collection exhibition and then I felt like having curry for lunch, so I remembered the old Yamu residence nearby. This was my third visit, but it had been a while since I last went. I ordered green curry and chicken curry with jasmine rice. It was a bit spicy, but the green curry had striped eggplant in it which added a fun texture. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were polite, making it a lovely restaurant. I would definitely like to visit again when I go to Nakanoshima.

It's too hot every day... I went to the popular curry restaurant, the former Yam residence on Nakanoshima Western-style building near Higobashi Station. Since it's inside Daibiru, I was able to wait in a cool place, and there was no line so I could enter right away. I ordered a combination of green Thai curry with shrimp and zucchini and chicken curry with jasmine rice. The interior of the restaurant is stylish, spacious, and very relaxing. I felt like taking my time, so I ordered Masala Chai after the meal. Even though I'm not a fan of spicy curry, I enjoyed it as it was delicious as mentioned in the reviews. The interior design and curry presentation are beautiful. But lately, there seems to be less white rice in every restaurant... Next time, I will order a medium portion.

I arrived at the store at 1:00 PM, but they were already sold out of Japanese rice. I ordered the Special Plate for 1,780 yen. I used to be impressed in the past, but now as an older man, I didn't feel the same level of excitement. The taste was okay, but I feel like there are many other options available nowadays. The Curry for 1,780 yen was expensive and not worth the cost.

In Fukuoka, spice curry is also popular, but its origin seems to be in Osaka. Among them, this shop is famous, so I was curious and decided to visit. The exterior is just wonderful. I had the chicken curry and chicken keema because those were the only options left. The keema apparently also uses monkfish, and the spices, although mild for my taste, had a gentle flavor with a hint of dashi. The chicken curry had a decent amount of spice and a bit of heat. Overall, it had a gentle and deep flavor, making it easy to eat even for those who are not fans of spiciness or spices. A stylish spice curry, that's what it is. It's quite extraordinary for me to be able to eat curry in such a wonderful place, but there were also many office workers who were able to come here during their break, which made me a bit envious. A shop where you can enjoy authentic spicy curry. There are various locations, but this one had a lovely interior like a Western-style mansion. It was nice to enjoy lunch by the window overlooking the Dojima River. At lunchtime, there were many office ladies, but they ate quickly and the turnover in the queue was relatively fast. I was able to enjoy two types of curry with side dishes and ingredients I had never tried before. It was great that you could change the amount and type of rice, and I was happy that brown rice was an option.

At the former Yamu residence on Nakanoshima, I tried a combination of green curry and chicken curry. Today, I visited the restaurant at 1:30 pm after a meeting that took place during lunchtime. I had to wait for about 5 minutes as there was one person in line before me. Even after that, there was a short line of customers continuously. Since it was close to the end of lunchtime, the black curry was sold out, so I chose the Keema Keema Green Curry with Jasmine Rice without hesitation. This time, I had three varieties - Chicken Keema with mushrooms, Pork Keema with chorizo, and Zucchini and Shrimp Green Curry. The chickpea paste and tomato and onion pickle on the side were delicious. I used to like the alfalfa on top, but it seems to have been replaced with radish recently. I noticed a strong cinnamon flavor around the edge of the plate, which was a new discovery for me. I usually go for two watery curries and one Keema curry, so I can soak up the rice like a drink, but today, with two Keema curries, it was a bit less liquid. If I could choose, I would still prefer two watery curries. By the time I finished eating, the Green Curry and Pork Keema were sold out, leaving only the Chicken Keema. In such cases, it seems they double the portion of the available curry at the same price as the two varieties. I'm not sure if I would go to Yamu-tei to eat in such a situation.

This is a spice curry restaurant located in Higobashi! I chose two types of curry for the lunch set. I think I selected Keema curry and Green curry (I'm not sure), but they were delicious. It was a fun experience to try flavors that I don't usually eat. I introduced it to my mother and she visited right away, saying it was delicious.

It had been a while since my last visit. The menu had changed, now offering not just two but three types of curry platters. The taste remains the same, with plenty of spices characteristic of Yamatei. Cardamom and ginger are used effectively. In addition to Thai rice and brown rice, there is now a blend of ancient rice and Thai rice and brown rice to choose from. The yogurt has been changed to strained yogurt, which is rich and creamy like cream cheese. Among the various spice curry restaurants, I think this is the most delicious.

In 2011, the popular curry restaurant "Kyuyamutei" was born in Osaka's Karahori Shotengai. Now, they have three stores in Osaka and three in Tokyo, all of which are highly acclaimed. This particular store, located in the Nakanoshima Western-style building, is the second store. The interior of Kyuyamutei is carefully designed to resemble an old Western-style building, creating a calming atmosphere. For lunch, they offer a special plate or a plate where you can choose two or three types of curry from the daily selection. I opted for the three types plate today, which included black curry with chicken and bay mackerel, pork keema, and chicken keema. I chose jasmine rice as my side. The curries were full of well-balanced spices and flavors, with a hint of Japanese taste adding complexity and deliciousness. According to the restaurant's description, they use a medicinal curry that does not contain any wheat flour, and their spices are freshly ground and carefully roasted. They also use a rich broth made from chicken bones, pork bones, beef bones, herbs, kombu, shiitake mushrooms, and bonito flakes as a base. It was a wonderful dining experience! I visited the main branch of the former Yamu residence about 8 years ago, and since then, the atmosphere of the former Yamu residence Nakanojima Western-style building was really nice. The vibe of this restaurant and the curry of the former Yamu residence seemed to match well. When I went there late, there were only two types of curry available, but it had been a while since I had eaten spiced curry, and it was delicious. I might drop by again when I least expect it. I want to come back with my curry-loving friends.
